SahihMuslim-017-001-18410It is narrated on the authority of Abu Said AlKhudri that when the delegation of the tribe of Abd AlQais came to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ ; its members said: Apostle of Allah; may God enable us to lay down our lives for you; which beverage is good for us? He the Prophet said: Not to speak of beverages; I would lay stress that you should not drink in the wine jars. They said: Apostle of Allah; may God enable us to lay down our lives for you; do you know what Alnaqir is? He the Holy Prophet replied: Yes; it is a stump which you hollow out in the middle; and added: Do not use gourd or receptacle for drink. Use water-skin the mouth of which is tied with a thong for this purpose. The Chapter on Drink Vessels in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 6 in Sahih Muslim

When the sun set; he said to Bilal: Bilal; come down and prepare barley beverage for us. He said: Messenger of Allah; would that you waited for the evening. He said: Come down and prepare barley beverage for us. He said: Messenger of Allah; the say still remains on you i.e. there remains the brightness of the day. He said: Come down and prepare barley drink for us. So he came down and prepared barley drink. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ drank it and said: When you see that the night approaches from this side; he who fasts has reached the time to break it ; and he pointed to the east with his finger. The Chapter on Food And Raisins in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The Time For The Fasting Person To Break His Fast in Sunan Abu Dawoud
