SahihMuslim-017-001-17703 | It has been reported on the authority of Abu Mousa who said: I went to the Prophet ﷺ and with me were two men from the Ashari tribe. One of them was on my right hand and the other on my left. Both of them made a request for a position of authority while the Prophet ﷺ was brushing his teeth with a tooth-stick. He said to me : Abu Mousa or Abdullah Bin Qais ; what do you say about the request they have made ? I said: By God Who sent thee on thy mission with truth; they did not disclose to me what they had in their minds; and I did not know that they would ask for a position. The narrator says while recalling this hadith : I visualise as if I were looking at the miswak of the Prophet ﷺ between his lips. He the Holy Prophet said: We shall not or shall never appoint to the public offices in our State those who with to have them; but you may go; Abu Mousa or Abdullah Bin Qais to take up your assignment. He sent him to Yemen as governor. then he sent Muadh Bin jabal in his wake to help him in the discharge of duties. When Muadh reached the camp of Abu Mousa; the latter received him and said: Please get yourself down; and he spread for him a mattress; while there was a man bound hand and foot as a prisoner. Muadh said: Who is this? Abu Mousa said: He was a Jew. He embraced Islam. Then he reverted to his false religion and became a Jew. I said: Of course; it is something which is predetermined for them and preordained for them. He further said: Then; would it not be an injustice to punish them ? I felt greatly disturbed because of that; and said: Everything is created by Allah and lies in His Power. He would not be questioned as to what He does; but they would be questioned; thereupon he said to me: May Allah have mercy upon you; I did not mean to ask you but for testing your intelligence. Two men of the tribe of Muzaina came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and said: Allah Messenger; what is your opinion that the people do in the world and strive for; is something decreed for them; something preordained for them and will their fate in the Hereafter be determined by the fact that their Prophets brought them teachings which they did not act upon. and thus they became deserving of punishment? Thereupon; he said: Of course; it happens as it is decreed by Destiny and preordained for them; and this view is confirmed by this verse of the Book of Allah; the Exalted and Glorious: Consider the soul and Him Who made it perfect; then breathed into it its sin and its piety xci. 8. | The Chapter on Lost And Found And Being Angry in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 1 in Sahih Muslim

He the Holy Prophet said: The reproductive substance of man is white and that of woman i. e. ovum central portion yellow; and when they have sexual intercourse and the male substance chromosomes and genes prevails upon the female substance chromosomes and genes ; it is the male child that is created by Allah Decree; and when the substance of the female prevails upon the substance contributed by the male; a female child is formed by the Decree of Allah. The Jew said: What you have said is true; verily you are an Apostle. He then returned and went away. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He asked me about such and such things of which I have had no knowledge till Allah gave me that. | The Chapter on Farming And Irrigation And Earth in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 8 in Sahih Muslim |

SunanAlTermithi-017-001-10033 | Narrated Abu Saeed AlKhudri: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited: And warn them of a Day of griefs and regrets 19:39 and he said: Death will be brought as if it is a mixed black and white ram; until it is halted upon the barrier between Paradise and the Fire. It will be said: O people of Paradise! They will raise up their necks to look. It will be said: O people of the Fire! And they will raise up their necks to look. It will be said: Do you recognize this? They will say: Yes. This is death. Then it will be laid down and slaughtered. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-24867 | Jabir Bin Abdullah said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to teach us the supplication for isthikharah seeking what us beneficial from Allah as he would teach us a surah chapter from the Quran. He would tell us: When one of you intends to do a work; he should offer two supererogatory rakahs of prayer; and then say at the end of the prayer : O Allah; I seek Your choice on the better of the two matters based upon Your knowledge; and I seek Your decree based upon Your power; and I ask You for Your great bounties. For Indeed; You are the One Who Decrees; and I do not decree; and You know; and I do not know; and You are the Knower of the Unseen. O Allah; if you know this; and You are the Knower of the Unseen. O Allah; if you know this - here he should name exactly what he wishes - is better for me with regard to my religion; and my life; and my afterlife; and the end result of my affairs; then decree it to me; and make it easy for me; and bless me on it. O Allah; and if You know this to be evil for me - and he says just as he said the first time - then avert it for me; and avert me from it. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25829 | Sufyan said according to one chain ; and Abu AlSalit said according to another chain : A man wrote to Umar Bin Abd AlAziz asking him about Divine decree. He wrote to him: To begin with; I enjoin upon you to fear Allah; to be moderate in obeying His Command; to follow the sunnah practice of His Prophet ﷺ and to abandon the novelties which the innovators introduced after his Sunnah has been established and they were saved from its trouble i.e. novelty or innovation ; so stick to Sunnah; for it is for you; if Allah chooses; a protection ; then you should know that any innovation which the people introduced was refuted long before it on the basis of some authority or there was some lesson in it; for the Sunnah was introduced by the people who were conscious of the error; slip; foolishness; and extremism in case of the sunnah was opposed. So accept for yourself what the people in the past had accepted for themselves; for they had complete knowledge of whatever they were informed; and by penetrating insight they forbade to do prohibited acts ; they had more strength than us to disclose the matters of religion ; and they were far better than us by virtue of their merits. If right guidance is what you are following; then you outstriped them to it. And if you say whatever the novelty occurred after them was introduced by those who followed the way other then theirs and disliked them. It is they who actually outstripped; and talked about it sufficiently; and gave a satisfactory explanation for it. Below them there is no place for exhaustiveness; and above them there is no place for elaborating things. Some people shortened the matter more than they had done; and thus they turned away from them ; and some people raised the matter more than they had done; and thus they exaggerated. They were on right guidance between that. You have written to me asking about confession of Divine decree; you have indeed approached a person who is well informed of it; with the will of Allah. I know what whatever novelty people have brought in; and whatever innovation people have introduced are not more manifest and more established than confession of Divine decree. The ignorant people i.e. the Arabs before Islam in pre-Islamic times have mentioned it ; they talked about it in their speeches and in their poetry. They would console themselves for what they lost; and Islam then strengthened it i.e. belief in Divine decree. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not mention it in one or two traditions; but the Muslims heard it from him; and they talked of it from him; and they talked of it during his lifetime and after his death. They did so out of belief and submission to their Lord and thinking themselves weak. There is nothing which is not surrounded by His knowledge; and not counted by His register and not destined by His decree. Despite that; it has been strongly mentioned in His Book: from it they have derived it; and from it they have and so ? they also read in it what you read; and they knew its interpretation of which you are ignorant. After that they said: All this is by writing and decreeing. Distress has been written down; and what has been destined will occur ; what Allah wills will surely happen; and what He does not will will not happen. We have no power to harm or benefit ourselves. Then Allah sends to him an angel with four words who records his provision the period of his life; his deeds; and whether he will be miserable or blessed ; thereafter he breathes the spirit into him. One of you will do the deeds of those who go to Paradise so that there will be only a cubit between him and it or will be within a cubit; then what is decreed will overcome him so that he will do the deeds of those who go to Hell and will enter it; and one of you will do the deeds of those who go to hell; so that there will be only a cubit between him and it or will be within a cubit; then what is decreed will overcome him; so that he will do the deeds of those who go to Paradise and will enter it. | The Chapter on Angeles And Good Deeds And Day Of Hell Fire in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Belief In Divine Decree in Sunan Abu Dawoud

MuwataMalik-017-001-34694 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Abd AlHamid Ibn Abdulrahman Ibn Zayd Ibn AlKhattab from Abdullah Ibn Abdullah Ibn AlHarith Ibn Nawfal from Abdullah Ibn Abbas that Umar Ibn AlKhattab set out for AlSham and when he was at Sargh; near Tabuk; the commanders of the army; Abu Ubayda Ibn AlJarrah and his companions; met him and told him that the plague had broken out in AlSham. Ibn Abbas said; Umar Ibn AlKhattab said; all the first Muhajir unto me. He assembled them and asked them for advice; informing them that the plague had broken out in AlSham. They disagreed. Some said; You have set out for something; and we do not think that you should leave it. Others said; You have the companions of the Prophet; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and the rest of the people with you; and we do not think that you should send them towards this plague. Umar said; Leave me. Then he said; Summon the Ansar to me. They were summoned and he asked them for advice. They acted as the Muhajirun had and disagreed as they had disagreed. He said; Leave me. Then he said; Summon to me whoever is here of the aged men of Quraysh from the Muhajirun of the conquest. He summoned them and not one of them differed. They said; We think that you should withdraw the people and not send them towards the plague. Umar called out to the people; I am leaving by camel in the morning; so they set out. Abu Ubayda said; Is it flight from the decree of Allah? Umar said; Better that someone other than you had said it; Abu Ubayda. Yes. We flee from the decree of Allah to the decree of Allah. What would you think if these camels had gone down into a valley which had two slopes; one of them fertile; and the other barren. If you pastured in the fertile part; wouldnt you pasture them by the decree of Allah? If you pastured them in the barren part; wouldnt you pasture them by the decree of Allah? Abdulrahman Ibn Awuf arrived and he had been off doing something and he said; I have some knowledge of this. I heard the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; say; If you hear about it in a land; do not go forward to it. If it comes upon a land and you are in it; then do not depart in flight from it. Umar praised Allah and then set off. | The Chapter on Farming And Irrigation Land Of Plague in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Purity in Muwata Malik |
