SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4673 | Narrated Ubaidullah Bin Abi Rafi: I heard Ali saying; Allah Messenger ﷺ sent me; AlZubair and AlMiqdad somewhere saying; Proceed till you reach Rawdat Khakh. There you will find a lady with a letter. Take the letter from her. So; we set out and our horses ran at full pace till we got at AlRawda where we found the lady and said to her. Take out the letter. She replied; I have no letter with me. We said; Either you take out the letter or else we will take off your clothes. So; she took it out of her braid. We brought the letter to Allah Messenger ﷺ and it contained a statement from Hatib Bin Abi Balta a to some of the Meccan pagans informing them of some of the intentions of Allah Messenger ﷺ. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ said; O Hatib! What is this? Hatib replied; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Dont hasten to give your judgment about me. I was a man closely connected with the Quraish; but I did not belong to this tribe; while the other emigrants with you; had their relatives in Mecca who would protect their dependents and property. So; I wanted to recompense for my lacking blood relation to them by doing them a favor so that they might protect my dependents. I did this neither because of disbelief not apostasy nor out of preferring Kufr disbelief to Islam. Allah Messenger ﷺ ; said; Hatib has told you the truth. Umar said; O Allah Apostle! Allow me to chop off the head of this hypocrite. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Hatib participated in the battle of Badr; and who knows; perhaps Allah has already looked at the Badr warriors and said; Do whatever you like; for I have forgiven you. | The Chapter on Military Expedition And Makkah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The spy in Sahih AlBukhari | |
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4983 | Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah Messenger ﷺ deputed me to keep Sadaqat AlFitr of Ramadan. A comer came and started taking handfuls of the foodstuff of the Sadaqa stealthily. I took hold of him and said; By Allah; I will take you to Allah Messenger ﷺ. He said; I am needy and have many dependents; and I am in great need. I released him; and in the morning Allah Messenger ﷺ asked me; What did your prisoner do yesterday? I said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! The person complained of being needy and of having many dependents; so; I pitied him and let him go. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Indeed; he told you a lie and he will be coming again. I believed that he would show up again as Allah Messenger ﷺ had told me that he would return. So; I waited for him watchfully. When he showed up and started stealing handfuls of foodstuff; I caught hold of him again and said; I will definitely take you to Allah Messenger ﷺ. He said; Leave me; for I am very needy and have many dependents. I promise I will not come back again. I pitied him and let him go. In the morning Allah Messenger ﷺ asked me; What did your prisoner do. I replied; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He complained of his great need and of too many dependents; so I took pity on him and set him free. Allah Apostle said; Verily; he told you a lie and he will return. I waited for him attentively for the third time; and when he came and started stealing handfuls of the foodstuff; I caught hold of him and said; I will surely take you to Allah Messenger ﷺ as it is the third time you promise not to return; yet you break your promise and come. He said; Forgive me and I will teach you some words with which Allah will benefit you. I asked; What are they? He replied; Whenever you go to bed; recite Ayat AlKursi- Allahu la ilaha illa huwa AlHaiy AlQaiyum till you finish the whole verse. If you do so ; Allah will appoint a guard for you who will stay with you and no satan will come near you till morning. So; I released him. In the morning; Allah Apostle asked; What did your prisoner do yesterday? I replied; He claimed that he would teach me some words by which Allah will benefit me; so I let him go. Allah Messenger ﷺ asked; What are they? I replied; He said to me; Whenever you go to bed; recite Ayat AlKursi from the beginning to the end -- Allahu la ilaha illa huwa-lHaiy AlQaiyum--. He further said to me; If you do so ; Allah will appoint a guard for you who will stay with you; and no satan will come near you till morning. Abu Huraira or another sub-narrator added that they the companions were very keen to do good deeds. The Prophet ﷺ said; He really spoke the truth; although he is an absolute liar. Do you know whom you were talking to; these three nights; O Abu Huraira? Abu Huraira said; No. He said; It was Satan. | The Chapter on Assignments And Angles And Satan in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on If a person deputes somebody and the deputy leaves something in Sahih AlBukhari |

SunanAlTermithi-017-001-10608 | Thawban narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: The most virtuous of the Dinar is the Dinar spent by a man on his dependants; and the Dinar spent by a man on his beast in the Cause of Allah; and the Dinar spent by a man on his companions in the Cause of Allah. Abu Qilabah one of the narrators said: He began with the dependants. Then he said: And which man is greater in reward than a man who spends upon his depandants; having little ones by which Allah causes him to abstain from the unlawful and by which Allah enriches him. | The Chapter on Contracts And Disputes And The Law in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on What Has Been Related About Spending On The Family in Sunan AlTermithi |
