SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2601Narrated Aisha: Rifaa AlQurazi divorced his wife irrevocably i.e. that divorce was the final. Later on Abdulrahman Bin AlZubair married her after him. She came to the Prophet ﷺ and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! I was Rifaa wife and he divorced me thrice; and then I was married to Abdulrahman Bin AlZubair; who; by Allah has nothing with him except something like this fringe; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; showing a fringe she had taken from her covering sheet. Abu Bakr was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ while Khalid Ibn Saeed Bin AlAs was sitting at the gate of the room waiting for admission. Khalid started calling Abu Bakr; O Abu Bakr! Why dont you reprove this lady from what she is openly saying before Allah Apostle? Allah Messenger ﷺ did nothing except smiling; and then said to the lady ; Perhaps you want to go back to Rifaa? I was the wife of Rifaa and he divorced me irrevocably. Then I married Abdulrahman Bin AlZubair who; by Allah; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; has only something like a fringe of a garment; Showing the fringe of her veil. Khalid Bin Said; who was standing at the door; for he had not been admitted; heard her statement and said; O Abu Bakr! Why do you not stop this lady from saying such things openly before Allah Messenger ﷺ ? No; by Allah; Allah Messenger ﷺ did nothing but smiled. Then he said to the lady; Perhaps you want to return to Rifaa? That is impossible unless Abdulrahman consummates his marriage with you. Afterwards she married Abd at-Rahman Bin AlZubair Allah be pleased with him ; She came to AllahsApostle ﷺ and said to Allah messenger ﷺ that she had been the wife of Rifaa Allah be pleased with him and he had divorced her by three pronouncements and afterwards she married Abdulrahman Bin AlZubair. By Allah; all he possesses is like the fringe of a garment; and she took hold of the fringe of her garment. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ laughed and said: Perhaps you wish to return to Rifaa; but you cannot do it until he has tasted your sweetness and you have tasted his sweetness. Khalid Bin Saeed was at the door and he did not let him in. He said: O Abu Bakr? Do you not hear this woman speaking in such an audacious manner in the presence of the Messenger of Allah? He said: Do you want to go back to Rifaah?
