But We will show the Unbelievers the truth of all that they did, and We shall give them the taste of a severe Penalty.

Only, all of a sudden will it come to you." They ask thee as if thou Wert eager in search thereof: Say: "The knowledge thereof is with Allah (alone), but most men know not."

(Thine but) to proclaim the Message: but shall any be destroyed except those who transgress?

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1387		Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah Messenger ﷺ said; The Hour will not be established 1 till two big groups fight each other whereupon there will be a great number of casualties on both sides and they will be following one and the same religious doctrine; 2 till about thirty Dajjals liars appear; and each one of them will claim that he is Allah Messenger ﷺ ; 3 till the religious knowledge is taken away by the death of Religious scholars 4 earthquakes will increase in number 5 time will pass quickly; 6 afflictions will appear; 7 AlHarj; i.e.; killing will increase; 8 till wealth will be in abundance -- so abundant that a wealthy person will worry lest nobody should accept his Zakat; and whenever he will present it to someone; that person to whom it will be offered will say; I am not in need of it; 9 till the people compete with one another in constructing high buildings; 10 till a man when passing by a grave of someone will say; Would that I were in his place 11 and till the sun rises from the West. So when the sun will rise and the people will see it rising from the West they will all believe embrace Islam but that will be the time when: As Allah said; No good will it do to a soul to believe then; if it believed not before; nor earned good by deeds of righteousness through its Faith. 6.158 And the Hour will be established while two men spreading a garment in front of them but they will not be able to sell it; nor fold it up; and the Hour will be established when a man has milked his camel and has taken away the milk but he will not be able to drink it; and the Hour will be established before a man repairing a tank for his livestock is able to water his animals in it; and the Hour will be established when a person has raised a morsel of food to his mouth but will not be able to eat it. Abu Bakr said; Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you. Do you hope that emigration ? The Prophet said; Yes. So Abu Bakr waited to accompany the Prophet ﷺ and fed two camels he had on the leaves of AlSamur tree regularly for four months One day while we were sitting in our house at midday; someone said to Abu Bakr; Here is Allah Messenger ﷺ ; coming with his head and a part of his face covered with a cloth-covering at an hour he never used to come to us. Abu Bakr said; Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you; O Prophet ! An urgent matter must have brought you here at this hour. The Prophet ﷺ came and asked the permission to enter; and he was allowed. The Prophet ﷺ entered and said to Abu Bakr; Let those who are with you; go out. Abu Bakr replied; There is no stranger ; they are your family. Let my father be sacrificed for you; O Allah Apostle! The Prophet ﷺ said; I have been allowed to leave Mecca. Abu Bakr said; I shall accompany you; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; Let my father be sacrificed for you! The Prophet ﷺ said; Yes; Abu Bakr said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ s! Let my father be sacrificed for you. And Asma bint Abu Bakr cut a piece of her girdle and tied the mouth of the leather bag with it. That is why she was called Dhatan- Nitaqaln. Then the Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr went to a cave in a mountain called Thour and remained there for three nights. Abdullah Bin Abu Bakr. who was a young intelligent man. used to stay with them at night and leave before dawn so that in the morning; he would he with the Quraish at Mecca as if he had spent the night among them. If he heard of any plot contrived by the Quraish against the Prophet and Abu Bakr; he would understand it and return to inform them of it when it became dark. Amir Bin Fuhaira; the freed slave of Abu Bakr used to graze a flock of milch sheep for them and he used to take those sheep to them when an hour had passed after the Isha prayer. They would sleep soundly till Amir Bin Fuhaira awakened them when it was still dark. He used to do that in each of those three nights. When the people embraced Islam; the Verses regarding legal and illegal things were revealed. If the first thing to be revealed was: Do not drink alcoholic drinks. people would have said; We will never leave alcoholic drinks; and if there had been revealed; Do not commit illegal sexual intercourse; they would have said; We will never give up illegal sexual intercourse. While I was a young girl of playing age; the following Verse was revealed in Mecca to Muhammad: Nay! The Prophet ﷺ said; As for the first sign of The Hour; it will be a fire that will collect the people from the East to the West. As for the first meal which the people of Paradise will eat; it will be the caudate extra lobe of the fish-liver. As for the child; if the man discharge proceeds the woman discharge; the child attracts the similarity to the man; and if the woman discharge proceeds the mans; then the child attracts the similarity to the woman. On this; Abdullah Bin Salam said; I testify that None has the right to be worshipped except Allah; and that you are the Messenger of Allah. and added; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Jews invent such lies as make one astonished; so please ask them about me before they know about my conversion to I slam. The Jews came; and the Prophet ﷺ said; What kind of man is Abdullah Bin Salam among you? They replied; The best of us and the son of the best of us and the most superior among us; and the son of the most superior among us. The Prophet ﷺ said; What would you think if Abdullah Bin Salam should embrace Islam? They said; May Allah protect him from that. The Prophet ﷺ repeated his question and they gave the same answer. Then Abdullah came out to them and said; I testify that None has the right to be worshipped except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah! On this; the Jews said; He is the most wicked among us and the son of the most wicked among us. So they degraded him. As for the resemblance of the child to its parents: If a man has sexual intercourse with his wife and gets discharge first; the child will resemble the father; and if the woman gets discharge first; the child will resemble her. On that Abdullah Bin Salam said; I testify that you are the Messenger of Allah. Abdullah Bin Salam further said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! The Jews are liars; and if they should come to know about my conversion to Islam before you ask them about me ; they would tell a lie about me. The Jews came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and Abdullah went inside the house. Allah Apostle asked the Jews ; What kind of man is Abdullah Bin Salam amongst you? They replied; He is the most learned person amongst us; and the best amongst us; and the son of the best amongst us. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; What do you think if he embraces Islam will you do as he does ? The Jews said; May Allah save him from it. Then Abdullah Bin Salam came out in front of them saying; I testify that None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is the Apostle of Allah. Thereupon they said; He is the evilest among us; and the son of the evilest amongst us; and continued talking badly of him. SahihMuslim-017-001-17937		It has been narrated on the authority of Abdulrahman Bin Shamasa AlMahri who said: I was in the company of Maslama Bin Mukhallad; and Abdullah Bin Amr Bin As was with him. Abdullah said: The Hour shall some oniy when the worst type of people are left on the earth. They will be worse than the people of pre-Islamic days. They will get whatever they ask of Allah. While we were yet sitting when Uqba Bin Amir came; and Maslama said to him: Uqba; listen to what Abdullah says. Uqba said: He knows better; so far as I am concerned; I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: A group of people from my Umma will continue to fight in obedience to the Command of Allah; remaining dominant over their enemies. Those who will oppose them shall not do them any harm. They will remain ill this condition until the Hour overtakes them. At this Abdullah said: Yes. Then Allah will raise a wild which will be fragrant like musk and whose touch will be like the touch of silk; but it will cause the death of all faithful persons; not leaving behind a single person with an iota of faith in his heart. SahihMuslim-017-001-18387		Abu Huraira reported: One day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ appeared before the public that a man came to him and said: Prophet of Allah; tell me what is Iman. Upon this he the Holy Prophet replied: That you affirm your faith in Allah; His angels; His Books; His meeting; His Messengers and that you affirm your faith in the Resurrection hereafter. He again said: Messenger of Allah; tell me what does AlIslam signify. He the Holy Prophet replied: AlIslam signifies that you worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him and you establish obligatory prayer and you pay the obligatory poor-rate Zakat and you observe the fast of Ramadan. He the inquirer again said: Messenger of Allah; what does AlIhsan imply? He the Holy Prophet replied: That you worship Allah as if you are seeing Him; and in case you fail to see Him; then observe prayer with this idea in your mind that at least He is seeing you. He the inquirer again said: Messenger of Allah; when would there be the hour of Doom ? He the Holy Prophet replied: The one who is asked about it is no better informed than the inquirer. I; however; narrate some of its signs and these are : when the slave-girl will give birth to he master; when the naked; barefooted would become the chiefs of the people - these are some of the signs of Doom. Moreover when the shepherds of the black camels would exult themselves in buildings; this is one of the signs of Doom. Doom is one of the five happenings wrapped in the unseen which no one knows but Allah. Then he the Messenger of Allah recited the verse : Verily Allah! with Him alone is the knowledge of the hour and He it is Who sends down the rain and knows that which is in the wombs and no person knows whatsoever he shall earn tomorrow; and a person knows not in whatsoever land he shall die. Verily Allah is Knowing; Aware. He the narrator; Abu Huraira said: Then the person turned back and went away. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Bring that man back to me. They the Companions of the Prophet present there went to bring him back; but they saw nothing there. SahihMuslim-017-001-18389		It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Ask me about matters pertaining to religion ; but they the Companions of the Holy Prophet were too much overawed out of profound respect for him to ask him anything. In the meanwhile a man came there; and sat near his knees and said: Messenger of Allah; what Allslam is? -to which he the Holy Prophet replied: You must not associate anything with Allah; and establish prayer; pay the poor-rate Zakat and observe the fasts of Ramadan. He said: You have told the truth. He again said: Messenger of Allah; what AlIman the faith is? He the Holy Prophet said: That you affirm your faith in Allah; His angels; His Books; His meeting; His Apostles; and that you believe in Resurrection and that you believe in Qadr Divine Decree in all its entirety; He the inquirer said: You have told the truth. He again said: Messenger of Allah; what AlIhsan is? Upon this he the Holy Prophet said: AlIhsan implies that you fear Allah as if you are seeing Him; and though you see Him not; verily He is seeing you. He the inquirer said: You have told the truth. He the inquirer said: When there would be the hour of Doom ? Upon this he the HolyProphet said: The one who is being asked about it is no better informed than the inquirer himself. I; however; narrate some of its signs and these are : when you see a slave woman giving birth to her master - that is one of the signs of Doom ; when you see barefooted; naked; deaf and dumb ignorant and foolish persons as the rulers of the earth - that is one of the signs of the Doom. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ thereupon said: He was Gabriel and he wanted to teach you things pertaining to religion when you did not ask them yourselves. SahihMuslim-017-001-19032		Abu Huraira reported that Allah Messenger ﷺ took hold of my hands and said: Allah; the Exalted and Glorious; created the clay on Saturday and He created the mountains on Sunday and He created the trees on Monday and He created the things entailing labour on Tuesday and created light on Wednesday and He caused the animals to spread on Thursday and created Adam ﷺ after Asr on Friday; the last creation at the last hour of the hours of Friday; i. e. between afternoon and night. SahihMuslim-017-001-19151		Yusair Bin Jabir reported: Once there blew a red storm in Kufah that there came a person who had nothing to say but these words : Abdullah Bin Masud; the Last Hour has come. He Abdullah Bin Masud was sitting reclining against something; and he said: The Last Hour would not come until shares of inheritance are not distributed and there is no rejoicing over spoils of war. Then he said pointing towards Syria; with the gesture of his hand like this: The enemy shall muster strength against Muslims and the Muslims will muster strength against them Syrians. I said: You mean Rome? And he said: Yes; and there would be a terrible fight and the Muslims would prepare a detachment for fighting unto death which would not return but victorious. They will fight until night will intervene them; both the sides will return without being victorious and both will be wiped out. The Muslims will again prepare a detachment for fighting unto death so that they may not return but victorious. When it would be the fourth day; a new detachment out of the remnant of the Muslims would be prepared and Allah will decree that the enemy should be routed. And they would fight such a fight the like of which would not be seen; so much so that even if a bird were to pass their flanks; it would fall down dead before reaching the end of them. There would be such a large scale massacre that when counting would be done; only one out of a hundred men related to one another would be found alive. So what can be the joy at the spoils of such war and what inheritance would be divided! They would be in this very state that they would hear of a calamity more horrible than this. And a cry would reach them: The Dajjal has taken your place among your offspring. They will; therefore; throw away what would be in their hands and go forward sending ten horsemen; as a scouting party. Allah Messenger ﷺ said: I know their names and the names of their forefathers and the color of their horses. They will be the best horsemen on the surface of the earth on that day or amongst the best horsemen on the surface of the earth on that day. SahihMuslim-017-001-19156		Hudhaifa Bin Usaid reported: Allah Apostle ﷺ was in an apartment and we were beneath that; that he peeped in and said to us: What are you discussing about? We said: We are discussing about the Last Hour. Thereupon he said: The Last Hour would not come until the ten signs appear: land-sliding in the east; and land-sliding in the west; and land-sliding in the peninsula of Arabia; the smoke; the Dajjal; the beast of the earth; Gog and Magog; the rising of the sun from the west and the fire which would emit from the lower part of Adan. Shuba said that Abd AlAziz Bin Rufai reported on the authority of Abu Tufail who reported on the authority of Abu Sariha a hadith like this that Allah Apostle ﷺ did not make a mention of the tenth sign but he said that out of the ten one was the descent of Jesus Christ; son of Mary ﷺ ; and in another version it is the blowing of the violent gale which would drive the people to the ocean. Then Gabriel came and Allah Messenger ﷺ said to him: You promised me and I waited for you; but you did not come; whereupon he said: It was the dog in your house which prevented me to come ; for we angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture. SahihMuslim-017-001-23218		Abu Huraira Allah be pleased with him reported: The people of the Khuzaah tribe killed a man of the tribe of Laith in the Year of Victory as a retaliation for one whom they had killed whom the people of the tribe of Laith had killed. It was reported to Allah Messenger ﷺ. He mounted his camel and delivered this address: Verily Allah; the Exalted and Majestic; held back the Ele- phants from Mecca; and gave its domination to His Messenger and believers. Behold; it was not violable for anyone before me and it will not be violable for anyone after me. Behold; it was made violable for me for an hour of a day; and at this very hour it has again been made inviolable for me as well as for others. So its thorns are not to be cut; its trees are not to be lopped; and no one is allowed to pick up a thing dropped; but the one who makes an announcement of it. And one whose fellow is killed is allowed to opt between two alternatives: either he should receive blood-money or get the life of the murderer in return. He the narrator said : A person from the Yemen; who was called Abu Shah; came to him and said: Messenger of Allah; write it down for me; whereupon he Allah Messenger said: Write it down for Abu Shah. SahihMuslim-017-001-24440		Abu Mousa reported: I and my companions who had sailed along with me in the boat landed with me in the valley of Buthan while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was staying in Medina. A party of people amongst them went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ every night at the time of the Isya prayer turn by turn. Abu Mousa said: One night we I and my companions went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he was occupied in some matter till there was a delay in prayer so much so that it was the middle of the night. And when he had observed his prayer he said to the audience present: Take it easy; I am going to give you information and glad tidings that it is the blessing of Allah upon you for there is none among the people; except you; who prays at this hour of the night ; or he said: None except you observed prayer at this. late hour. SahihMuslim-017-001-24441		Ibn Juraij reported: I said to Ata: Which time do you deem fit for me to say the Isya prayer; -as an Imam or alone; -that time which is called by people Atama? He said: I heard Ibn Abbas saying: The Apostle of Allah ﷺ one night delayed the Isya prayer till the people went to sleep. They woke up and again went to sleep and again woke up. Then Umar Bin AlKhattab stood up and said loudly Prayer. Ata further reported that Ibn Abbas said: The Apostle of Allah ﷺ came out; and as if I am still seeing him with water trickling from his head; and with his hand placed on one side of the head; and he said: Were it not hard for my Ummah; I would have ordered them to observe this prayer like this i. e. at late hours. I inquired from Ata how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ placed his hand upon his head as Ibn Abbas had informed. So Ata spread his fingers a little and then placed the ends of his fingers on the side of his head. He then moved them like this over his head till the thumb touched that part of the ear which is near the face and then it went to the earlock and the part of the heard. It the bind neither held nor caught anything but this is how it moved oil. I said to Ata: Was it mentioned to you by Ibn Abbas how long did the Apostle ﷺ delay it the prayer during that eight? He said: I do not know I cannot give you the exact time. Ali said: I love that I should say prayer; whether as an Imam or alone at delayed hours as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that night; but if It is hard upon you in your individual capacity or upon people in the congregation and you are their Imam; then say prayer Isha at the middle hours neither too early nor too late. On this day; Adam was created; on this day he was sent down; on it repentance was accepted; on this day he died; and on this day the Hour will begin. There is no living creature on Earth that does not listen out from Friday morning until the sun rises; fearing the onset of the Hour; except the son of Adam. On Friday there is an hour in which; if a believer prays and asks Allah SWT for something; He will give it to him. Kaab said: Is than one day in every year? I said: No; it is every Friday. Then Kaab read in the Tawrah and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke the truth; it is every Friday. Then I went out and met Basrah Bin Abi Basrah AlGhifari. He said: From where have you come? I said: From AlTur. He said: If I had met you before you went there; you would not have gone. I said to him: Why? He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Do not travel especially to visit a masjid except three: AlMasjid AlHaram in Makkah ; my masjid in AlMadinah and the Masjid of Bait AlMaqdis in Jerusalem. Then I met Abdullah Bin Salam and said: If you had only seen me; I went to AlTur and met Kaab and he and I spent the day together; when I narrated things to him from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he narrated things to me from the Tawrah. I said to him: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The best day on which the sun rises is Friday. On this day; Adam was created; on this day he was sent down; on it repentance was accepted; on this day he died; and on this day the Hour will begin. He said: Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Whoever prays and sits waiting for the next prayer; is in a state of prayer until the next prayer comes? I said: Of course. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-24648		Narrated Abdullah Ibn Abbas: In Surat AlMuzzammil 73 ; the verse: Keep vigil at night but a little; a half thereof 2-3 has been abrogated by the following verse: He knoweth that ye count it not; and turneth unto you in mercy. Recite then of the Quran that which is easy for you v.20. The phrase the vigil of the night nashiat Allayl means the early hours of the night. They the companions would pray the tahajjud prayer in the early hours of the night. He Ibn Abbas says: It is advisable to offer the prayer at night tahajjud ; prescribed by Allah for you in the early hours of the night. This is because when a person sleeps; he does not know when he will awake. The words speech more certain aqwamu qilan means that this time is more suitable for the understanding of the Quran. He says: The verse: Lo; thou hast by day a chain of business v.7 means engagement for long periods in the day work. Abdullah Ibn Salam said: It is at the very end of Friday. I asked: How can it be when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has said: No Muslim finds it while he is praying.... and this is the moment when no prayer is offered. Abdullah Ibn Salam said: Has the Messenger of Allah ﷺ not said: If anyone is seated waiting for the prayer; he is engaged in the prayer until he observes it. I said: Yes; it is so. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-28029		Narrated Ali Ibn Abu Talib: Ali said on the pulpit in the Masjid of Kufah: When Friday comes; the devils go to the markets with their flags; and involve people in their needs and prevent them from the Friday prayer. The angels come early in the morning; sit at the door of the Masjid; and record that so-and-so came at the first hour; and so-and-so came at the second hour until the imam comes out for preaching. When a man sits in a place where he can listen to the sermon and look at the imam ; where he remains silent and does not interrupt; he will receive a double reward. If he stays away; sits in a place where he cannot listen to the sermon ; silent; and does not interrupt; he will receive the reward only once. If he sits in a place where he can listen to the sermon and look at the imam ; and he does not remain silent; he will have the burden of it. If anyone says to his companion sitting besides him to be silent while the imam is preaching ; he is guilty of idle talk. Anyone who interrupts during the sermon will receive nothing no reward on that Friday. Then he the narrator says in the end of this tradition: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say so.Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been narrated by AlWalid Bin Muslim from Ibn Jabir. This version adds: bil-rabaith instead of Alrabaith; needs preventing the people from prayer. Further; this adds: Freed slave of his wife Umm Uthman Bin Ata.
