SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3176 | Narrated Ibn Juraij: Ibn Shihab informed me of Lian and the tradition related to it; referring to the narration of Sahl Bin Sad; the brother of Bani Saidi He said; An Ansari man came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and said; O Allah Apostle! If a man saw another man with his wife; should he kill him; or what should he do? So Allah revealed concerning his affair what is mentioned in the Holy Quran about the affair of those involved in a case of Lian. The Prophet ﷺ said; Allah has given His verdict regarding you and your wife. So they carried out Lian in the Masjid while I was present there. When they had finished; the man said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! If I should now keep her with me as a wife then I have told a lie about her. Then he divorced her thrice before Allah Messenger ﷺ ordered him; when they had finished the Lian process. So he divorced her in front of the Prophet ﷺ. Ibn Shihab added; After their case; it became a tradition that a couple involved in a case of Lian should be separated by divorce. That lady was pregnant then; and later on her son was called by his mother name. The tradition concerning their inheritance was that she would be his heir and he would inherit of her property the share Allah had prescribed for him. Ibn Shihab said that Sahl Bin Saad AsSaidi said that the Prophet ﷺ said in the above narration ; If that lady delivers a small red child like a lizard; then the lady has spoken the truth and the man was a liar; but if she delivers a child with black eyes and huge lips; then her husband has spoken the truth. Then she delivered it in the shape one would dislike as it proved her guilty. | The Chapter on Wives And Relationship Lian in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on To carry out Lian in a Mosque in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3179 | Narrated Saeed Bin Jubair: I asked Ibn Umar about those who were involved in a case of Lien. He said; The Prophet ﷺ said to those who were involved in a case of Lien; Your accounts are with Allah. One of you two is a liar; and you the husband have no right over her she is divorced. The man said; What about my property Mahr ? The Prophet ﷺ said; You have no right to get back your property. If you have told the truth about her then your property was for the consummation of your marriage with her; and if you told a lie about her; then you are less rightful to get your property back. Sufyan; a sub-narrator said: I learned the Hadith from Amr. Narrated Ayoub : I heard Saeed Bin Jubair saying; I asked Ibn Umar; If a man accuses his wife for an illegal sexual intercourse and carries out the process of Lian what will happen ? Ibn Umar set two of his fingers apart. Sufyan set his index finger and middle finger apart. Ibn Umar said; The Prophet ﷺ separated the couple of Bani AlAjlan by divorce and said thrice; Allah knows that one of you two is a liar; so will one of you repent to Allah ? | The Chapter on Wives And Relationship Lian in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Surely one of you two is a liar so will one of you repent to Allah in Sahih AlBukhari |

SahihMuslim-017-001-20054 | Aisha reported: Never did Allah Messenger ﷺ make a choice between two things but adopting the easier one as compared to the difficult one; but his choice for the easier one was only in case it did not involve any sin; but if it involved sin he was the one who was the farthest from it amongst the people. | The Chapter on Financial Transaction And Return in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 20 in Sahih Muslim |

SunanAlTermithi-017-001-10055 | Narrated Saeed Bin Jubair: I was asked about those who were involved in the case of Lian and if they are to be separated; during the leadership of mousab Bin AlZubair. I did not know what to say. So I went to the house of Abdullah Bin Umar and I sought permission to enter. I was told he was taking a nap; but he heard me taking and he said: Is it Ibn Jubair? Enter. You would not have come except for a need. He said: So I entered and found him laying on a saddlecloth from his mount. I said: O Abu Abdulrahman Are those involved in Lian separated? He said: Glorious is Allah! Yes. The first who asked about hat was so-and-so the son of so-and-so. He came to the Prophet ﷺ and said O Messenger of Allah! If one of us saw his wife committing adultery; what should he do? If he were to say anything; his statement would be a horrible matter; and if he were to remain silent; his silence about the matter would be horrible. He said: So the Prophet ﷺ remained silent and did not answer him. Afterwards he came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: The one who asked you about it has been tried by it. So Allah revealed these Ayat from Surat AlNur: And those who accuse their wives and have no witnesses except themselves; let the testimony of one of them be four testimonies by Allah 24:6-10 - until the end of those Ayat. He said: So he called for the man and recited the Ayat to him and admonished him; reminded him; and he told him: Indeed the punishment of the world is less than the punishment of the Hereafter. So he said: Nay! By the One Who sent you with the Truth! I did not lie about her. Then he ﷺ did the same with the woman; admonishing her and reminding her and he told her: Indeed the punishment of the world is less than the punishment of the Hereafter. She said: Nay! By the One Who sent you with the Truth! He is not telling the truth. He said: So he started with the man: He testified four times; by Allah that he is one of the truthful; and the fifth time that the curse of Allah be upon him if he was one of the liars. Then the same with the woman: She testified four times by Allah; that he was one of the liars; and the fifth time that the wrath of Allah be upon her if he was one of the truthful. Then he separated the two of them. | The Chapter on Wives And Relationship Lian in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Chapters on Tafsir in Sunan AlTermithi
