SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1651		Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah Messenger ﷺ said; When the Day of Resurrection approaches; the dreams of a believer will hardly fail to come true; and a dream of a believer is one of forty-six parts of prophetism; and whatever belongs to prothetism can never be false. Muhammad Bin Seereen said; But I say this. He said; It used to be said; There are three types of dreams: The reflection of one thoughts and experiences one has during wakefulness; what is suggested by Satan to frighten the dreamer; or glad tidings from Allah. So; if someone has a dream which he dislikes; he should not tell it to others; but get up and offer a prayer. He added; He Abu Huraira hated to see a Ghul i.e.; iron collar around his neck in a dream and people liked to see fetters on their feet in a dream. The fetters on the feet symbolizes one constant and firm adherence to religion. And Abu Abdullah said; Ghuls iron collars are used only for necks. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1662		Narrated Ibn Umar: Men from the companions of Allah Messenger ﷺ used to see dreams during the lifetime of Allah Messenger ﷺ and they used to narrate those dreams to Allah Messenger ﷺ. Allah Messenger ﷺ would interpret them as Allah wished. I was a young man and used to stay in the Masjid before my wedlock. I said to myself; If there were any good in myself; I too would see what these people see. So when I went to bed one night; I said; O Allah! If you see any good in me; show me a good dream. So while I was in that state; there came to me in a dream two angels. In the hand of each of them; there was a mace of iron; and both of them were taking me to Hell; and I was between them; invoking Allah; O Allah! I seek refuge with You from Hell. Then I saw myself being confronted by another angel holding a mace of iron in his hand. He said to me; Do not be afraid; you will be an excellent man if you only pray more often. So they took me till they stopped me at the edge of Hell; and behold; it was built inside like a well and it had side posts like those of a well; and beside each post there was an angel carrying an iron mace. I saw therein many people hanging upside down with iron chains; and I recognized therein some men from the Quraish. Then the angels took me to the right side. I narrated this dream to my sister Hafsa and she told it to Allah Messenger ﷺ. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; No doubt; Abdullah is a good man. Nafi said; Since then Abdullah Bin Umar used to pray much. The Prophet ﷺ said; Try to find something; even if it is an iron ring. He went again and returned; saying; No; by Allah; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; not even an iron ring; but I have this waist sheet of mine. The man had no upper garment; so he intended to give her; half his waist sheet. So Allah Messenger ﷺ said; What would she do with your waist sheet? If you wear it; she will have nothing of it over her body; and if she wears it; you will have nothing over your body. So that man sat for a long period and then got up; and Allah Messenger ﷺ saw him going away; so he ordered somebody to call him. When he came; the Prophet ﷺ asked him; How much of the Quran do you know? He replied; I know such Surat and such Surat and such Surat; and went on counting it; The Prophet ﷺ asked him; Can you recite it by heart? he replied; Yes. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4587		Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet ﷺ said; The example of a miser and the one who gives in charity; is like the example of two men wearing iron cloaks so tightly that their arms are raised forcibly towards their collar-bones. So; whenever a charitable person wants to give in charity; his cloak spreads over his body so much so that it wipes out his traces; but whenever the miser wants to give in charity; the rings of the iron cloak come closer to each other and press over his body; and his hands gets connected to his collarbones. SahihMuslim-017-001-21652		Sahl Bin Saad AlSaidi Allah be pleased with him reported: A woman came to Allah Messenger. ﷺ and said: Messenger of Allah; I have come to you to entrust myself to you you may contract my marriage with anyone at your discretion. Allah Messenger ﷺ saw her and cast a glance at her from head to foot. Allah Messenger ﷺ then lowered his head. When the woman saw that he had made no decision in regard to her; she sat down. There stood up a person from amongst his companions and said: Messenger of Allah; marry her to me if you have no need of her. He the Prophet said: is there anything with you which you con give as a dower ? He said: No; Messenger of Allah; by Allah I have nothing. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: Go to your people family and see if you can find something. He returned and said: I have found nothing. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: See even if it is an iron ring. He went and returned and said: No; by Allah; not even an iron ring; but only this lower garment of mine Sahl said that he had no upper garment ; half of which I am prepared to part with for her. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: How can your lower garment serve your purpose; for it you wear it; she would not be able to make any use of it and if she wears it there would not be anything on you? The man sat down and as the sitting prolonged he stood up in disappointment and as he was going back Allah Messenger ﷺ commanded him to be called back; and as he came; he said to him: Do you know any part of the Quran? He said: I know such and such surahs and he counted them ; whereupon he ﷺ said: Can you recite them from heart from your memory ? He said: Yes; whereupon he Allah Messenger said: Go; I have given her to you in marriage for the part of the Quran which you know. He said: Yes; Surah such-and-such and Surah such-and-such. He said: I will marry you to her on the basis of what you have memorized of the Quran. SunanAlNasai-017-001-14544		It was narrated from Sahl Bin Saad that a woman came to the Messenger of Allah and said: O Messenger of Allah; I have come to offer myself to you in marriage. The Messenger of Allah looked her up and down then lowered his head. When the woman saw that he was not saying anything about her; she sat down. A man among his Companions stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah; if you do not want to marry her; then marry me to her. He said: Do you have anything? He said: No; by Allah; I do not have anything. He said: Look; even if it is only an iron ring. He went; then he came back and said: No; by Allah; O Messenger of Allah; not even an iron ring; but this is my Izar lower garment - Sahl said: He did not have a Rida upper garment - she can have half of it. The Messenger of Allah said: What could she do with your Izar? If you wear it; she will not have any of it; and if she wears it; you will not have any of it. The man sat down for a long time; then he got up; and the Messenger of Allah saw him leaving; so he ordered that he be called back. When he came; he said: What do you know of the Quran? He said: I know Surah such-and-such; and Surah such-and-such; and listed them. He said: Can you recite them by heart? He said: Yes. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25873		Narrated Umar Ibn AlKhattab: AlAqra; the muadhdhin announcer of Umar Ibn AlKhattab said: Umar sent me to a bishop and I called him. Umar said to him: Do you find me in the Book? He said: Yes. He asked: How do you find me? He said: I find you like a castle. Then he raised a whip to him; saying: What do you mean by castle? He replied: An iron castle and severely trustworthy. He asked: How do you find the one who will come after me? He said: I find him a pious caliph; except that he will prefer his relatives. Umar said: May Allah have mercy on Uthman: He said it three times. He then asked: How do you find the one who will come after him? He replied: I find him like rusty iron. Umar then put his hand on his head; and said: O filthy! O filthy! He said: Commander of the Faithful! He is a pious caliph; but when he is made caliph; the sword will be unsheathed and blood will be shed.Abu Dawud said: Aldafr means filth or evil smell.
