SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1288Narrated Zaid Bin Thabit: Abu Bakr sent for me owing to the large number of casualties in the battle of AlYamama; while Umar was sitting with him. Abu Bakr said to me ; Umar has come to my and said; A great number of Qaris of the Holy Quran were killed on the day of the battle of AlYamama; and I am afraid that the casualties among the Qaris of the Quran may increase on other battle-fields whereby a large part of the Quran may be lost. Therefore I consider it advisable that you Abu Bakr should have the Quran collected. I said; How dare I do something which Allah Messenger ﷺ did not do? Umar said; By Allah; it is something beneficial. Umar kept on pressing me for that till Allah opened my chest for that for which He had opened the chest of Umar and I had in that matter; the same opinion as Umar had. Abu Bakr then said to me Zaid ; You are a wise young man and we do not have any suspicion about you; and you used to write the Divine Inspiration for Allah Messenger ﷺ. So you should search for the fragmentary scripts of the Quran and collect it in one Book. Zaid further said: By Allah; if Abu Bakr had ordered me to shift a mountain among the mountains from one place to another it would not have been heavier for me than this ordering me to collect the Quran. Then I said to Umar and Abu Bakr ; How can you do something which Allah Messenger ﷺ did not do? Abu Bakr said; By Allah; it is something beneficial. Zaid added: So he Abu Bakr kept on pressing me for that until Allah opened my chest for that for which He had opened the chests of Abu Bakr and Umar; and I had in that matter; the same opinion as theirs. So I started compiling the Quran by collecting it from the leafless stalks of the date-palm tree and from the pieces of leather and hides and from the stones; and from the chests of men who had memorized the Quran. I found the last verses of Surat AlTauba: Verily there has come unto you an Apostle Muhammad from amongst yourselves- 9.128-129 from Khuzaima or Abi Khuzaima and I added to it the rest of the Sura. The manuscripts of the Quran remained with Abu Bakr till Allah took him unto Him. Then it remained with Umar till Allah took him unto Him; and then with Hafsa bint Umar. The Chapter on Lost And Found And Alquran in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on It is desirable that a scribe should be honest and wise in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2494Narrated Ibn Umar: Allah Messenger ﷺ said; While three persons were traveling; they were overtaken by rain and they took shelter in a cave in a mountain. A big rock fell from the mountain over the mouth of the cave and blocked it. They said to each other. Think of such good righteous deeds which; you did for Allah sake only; and invoke Allah by giving reference to those deeds so that Allah may relieve you from your difficulty. one of them said; O Allah! I had my parents who were very old and I had small children for whose sake I used to work as a shepherd. When I returned to them at night and milked the sheep ; I used to start giving the milk to my parents first before giving to my children. And one day I went far away in search of a grazing place for my sheep ; and didnt return home till late at night and found that my parents had slept. I milked my livestock as usual and brought the milk vessel and stood at their heads; and I disliked to wake them up from their sleep; and I also disliked to give the milk to my children before my parents though my children were crying from hunger at my feet. So this state of mine and theirs continued till the day dawned. O Allah! If you considered that I had done that only for seeking Your pleasure; then please let there be an opening through which we can see the sky. So Allah made for them an opening through which they could see the sky. Then the second person said; O Allah! I had a cousin whom I loved as much as a passionate man love a woman. I tried to seduce her but she refused till I paid her one-hundred Dinars So I worked hard till I collected one hundred Dinars and went to her with that But when I sat in between her legs to have sexual intercourse with her ; she said; O Allah slave! Be afraid of Allah ! Do not deflower me except legally by marriage contract. So I left her O Allah! If you considered that I had done that only for seeking Your pleasure then please let the rock move a little to have a wider opening. So Allah shifted that rock to make the opening wider for them. And the last third person said O Allah ! I employed a laborer for wages equal to a Faraq a certain measure: of rice; and when he had finished his job he demanded his wages; but when I presented his due to him; he gave it up and refused to take it. Then I kept on sowing that rice for him several times till managed to buy with the price of the yield; some cows and their shepherd Later on the laborer came to me an said. O Allah slave! Be afraid o Allah; and do not be unjust to me an give me my due. I said to him. Go and take those cows and their shepherd. So he took them and went away. So; O Allah! If You considered that I had done that for seeking Your pleasure; then please remove the remaining part of the rock. And so Allah released them from their difficulty. The Chapter on Love And Emotions And Child in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The invocation of the person who is dutiful to his parents if fulfilled in Sahih AlBukhari

A man came at the gate of the garden and asked permission to enter. The Prophet ﷺ said; Open the gate for him and give him the glad tidings of entering Paradise. I went; and behold! It was Abu Bakr. So I opened the gate for him and informed him of the glad tidings of entering Paradise. Then another man came and asked permission to enter. The Prophet ﷺ said; Open the gate for him and give him the glad tidings of entering Paradise. Behold! It was Umar. So I opened the gate for him and gave him the glad tidings of entering Paradise. Then another man came and asked permission to enter. The Prophet ﷺ was sitting in a leaning posture; so he sat up and said; Open the gate for him and give him the glad tidings of entering Paradise with a calamity which will befall him or which will take place. I went; and behold ! It was Uthman. So I opened the gate for him and gave him the glad tidings of entering Paradise and also informed him of what the Prophet ﷺ had said about a calamity. I went to him and found Umar Bin AlKhattab sitting with him. Abu Bakr then said to me ; Umar has come to me and said: Casualties were heavy among the Qurra of the! Quran i.e. those who knew the Quran by heart on the day of the Battle of Yalmama; and I am afraid that more heavy casualties may take place among the Qurra on other battlefields; whereby a large part of the Quran may be lost. Therefore I suggest; you Abu Bakr order that the Quran be collected. I said to Umar; How can you do something which Allah Apostle did not do? Umar said; By Allah; that is a good project. Umar kept on urging me to accept his proposal till Allah opened my chest for it and I began to realize the good in the idea which Umar had realized. Then Abu Bakr said to me. You are a wise young man and we do not have any suspicion about you; and you used to write the Divine Inspiration for Allah Messenger ﷺ. Abu Bakr kept on urging me to accept his idea until Allah opened my chest for what He had opened the chests of Abu Bakr and Umar. So I started looking for the Quran and collecting it from what was written on palmed stalks; thin white stones and also from the men who knew it by heart; till I found the last Verse of Surat AlTauba Repentance with Abi Khuzaima AlAnsari; and I did not find it with anybody other than him. The Verse is: Verily there has come unto you an Apostle Muhammad from amongst yourselves. It grieves him that you should receive any injury or difficulty.. till the end of Surat Baraa AlTauba 9.128-129 Then the complete manuscripts copy of the Quran remained with Abu Bakr till he died; then with Umar till the end of his life; and then with Hafsa; the daughter of Umar. The Chapter on Lost And Found And Alquran in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The collection of the Quran in Sahih AlBukhari

Then a gold tray of Belief was brought to me and my heart was washed and was filled with Belief and then returned to its original place. Then a white animal which was smaller than a mule and bigger than a donkey was brought to me. On this AlJarud asked; Was it the Buraq; O Abu Hamza? I i.e. Anas replied in the affirmative. The Prophet ﷺ said; The animal step was so wide that it reached the farthest point within the reach of the animal sight. Then AlBait AlMamur i.e. the Sacred House was shown to me and a container full of wine and another full of milk and a third full of honey were brought to me. I took the milk. Gabriel remarked; This is the Islamic religion which you and your followers are following. Then the prayers were enjoined on me: They were fifty prayers a day. When I returned; I passed by Moses who asked me ; What have you been ordered to do? I replied; I have been ordered to offer fifty prayers a day. Moses said; Your followers cannot bear fifty prayers a day; and by Allah; I have tested people before you; and I have tried my level best with Bani Israel in vain. Go back to your Lord and ask for reduction to lessen your followers burden. So I went back; and Allah reduced ten prayers for me. Then again I came to Moses; but he repeated the same as he had said before. Then again I went back to Allah and He reduced ten more prayers. When I came back to Moses he said the same; I went back to Allah and He ordered me to observe ten prayers a day. When I came back to Moses; he repeated the same advice; so I went back to Allah and was ordered to observe five prayers a day. When I came back to Moses; he said; What have you been ordered? I replied; I have been ordered to observe five prayers a day. He said; Your followers cannot bear five prayers a day; and no doubt; I have got an experience of the people before you; and I have tried my level best with Bani Israel; so go back to your Lord and ask for reduction to lessen your follower burden. I said; I have requested so much of my Lord that I feel ashamed; but I am satisfied now and surrender to Allah Order. When I left; I heard a voice saying; I have passed My Order and have lessened the burden of My Worshipers. The Chapter on Heaven Gabriel Moses And Abraham in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on AlMiraj in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3942Narrated Adi Bin Hatim: While I was in the city of the Prophet; a man came and complained to him the Prophet; of destitution and poverty. Then another man came and complained of robbery by highwaymen. The Prophet said; Adi! Have you been to AlHira? I said; I havent been to it; but I was informed about it. He said; If you should live for a long time; you will certainly see that a lady in a Howdah traveling from AlHira will safely reach Mecca and perform the Tawaf of the Kaba; fearing none but Allah. I said to myself; What will happen to the robbers of the tribe of Tai who have spread evil through out the country? The Prophet ﷺ further said. If you should live long; the treasures of Khosrau will be opened and taken as spoils. I asked; You mean Khosrau; son of Hurmuz? He said; Khosrau; son of Hurmuz; and if you should live long; you will see that one will carry a handful of gold or silver and go out looking for a person to accept it from him; but will find none to accept it from him. And any of you; when meeting Allah; will meet Him without needing an interpreter between him and Allah to interpret for him; and Allah will say to him: Didnt I send a messenger to teach you? He will say: Yes. Allah will say: Didnt I give you wealth and do you favors? He will say: Yes. Then he will look to his right and see nothing but Hell; and look to his left and see nothing but Hell. Adi further said: I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying; Save yourself from the Hell Fire even with half a date to be given in charity and if you do not find a half date; then with a good pleasant word. Adi added: later on I saw a lady in a Howdah traveling from AlHira till she performed the Tawaf of the Kaba; fearing none but Allah. And I was one of those who opened conquered the treasures of Khosrau; son of Hurmuz. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3992Narrated Ali: I got a camel in my share of the war booty on the day of the battle of Badr; and the Prophet ﷺ had given me a camel from the Khumus. When I intended to marry Fatima; the daughter of Allah Apostle; I had an appointment with a goldsmith from the tribe of Bani Qainuqa to go with me to bring Idhkhir i.e. grass of pleasant smell and sell it to the goldsmiths and spend its price on my wedding party. I was collecting for my camels equipment of saddles; sacks and ropes while my two shecamels were kneeling down beside the room of an Ansari man. I returned after collecting whatever I collected; to see the humps of my two camels cut off and their flanks cut open and some portion of their livers was taken out. When I saw that state of my two camels; I could not help weeping. I asked; Who has done this? The people replied; Hamza Bin Abdul Muttalib who is staying with some Ansari drunks in this house. I went away till I reached the Prophet ﷺ and Zaid Bin Haritha was with him. The Prophet ﷺ noticed on my face the effect of what I had suffered; so the Prophet ﷺ asked. What is wrong with you. I replied; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! I have never seen such a day as today. Hamza attacked my two camels; cut off their humps; and ripped open their flanks; and he is sitting there in a house in the company of some drunks. The Prophet ﷺ then asked for his covering sheet; put it on; and set out walking followed by me and Zaid Bin Haritha till he came to the house where Hamza was. He asked permission to enter; and they allowed him; and they were drunk. Allah Messenger ﷺ started rebuking Hamza for what he had done; but Hamza was drunk and his eyes were red. Hamza looked at Allah Messenger ﷺ and then he raised his eyes; looking at his knees; then he raised up his eyes looking at his umbilicus; and again he raised up his eyes look in at his face. Hamza then said; Arent you but the slaves of my father? Allah Messenger ﷺ realized that he was drunk; so Allah Messenger ﷺ retreated; and we went out with him.The Chapter on Camels And Herdsmen Humps And Heeling in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The obligations of Khumus in Sahih AlBukhari

Then he brought a golden tray full of wisdom and faith; and having poured its contents into my chest; he closed it. Then he took my hand and ascended with me to the heaven. When Jibril reached the nearest heaven; he said to the gatekeeper of the heaven; Open the gate. The gatekeeper asked; who is it? Jibril answered; Jibril. He asked; Is there anyone with you? Jibril replied; Muhammad ﷺ is with me. He asked; Has he been called?; Jibril said; Yes. So; the gate was opened and we went over the nearest heaven; and there we saw a man sitting with Aswida a large number of people of his right and Aswida on his left. When he looked towards his right; he laughed and when he looked towards his left he wept. He said to me ; Welcome; O pious Prophet and pious son. I said; Who is this man O Jibril? Jibril replied; He is Adam; and the people on his right and left are the souls of his offspring. Those on the right are the people of Paradise; and those on the left are the people of the Hell Fire. So; when he looks to the right; he laughs; and when he looks to the left he weeps. Then Jibril ascended with me till he reached the second heaven and said to the gatekeeper; Open the gate. On the Mousa said to me; Go back to your Lord and appeal for reduction ; for your followers will not be able to bear it. So; I returned to my Lord and asked for some reduction; and He reduced it to half. When I passed by Mousa again and informed him about it; he once more said to me; Go back to your Lord; for your followers will not be able to bear it. So; I returned to my Lord similarly as before; and half of it was reduced. I again passed by Mousa and he said to me; Go back to your Lord; for your followers will not be able to bear it. I again returned to my Lord and He said; These are five Prayer prayer and they are all equal to fifty in reward ; for My Word does not change. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6390Narrated AlBara Bin Azib: Allah Messenger ﷺ sent some men from the Ansar to kill Abu Rafi; the Jew; and appointed Abdullah Bin Atik as their leader. Abu Rafi used to hurt Allah Messenger ﷺ and help his enemies against him. He lived in his castle in the land of Hijaz. When those men approached the castle after the sun had set and the people had brought back their livestock to their homes. Abdullah bin Atik said to his companions; Sit down at your places. I am going; and I will try to play a trick on the gate-keeper so that I may enter the castle. So Abdullah proceeded towards the castle; and when he approached the gate; he covered himself with his clothes; pretending to answer the call of nature. The people had gone in; and the gate-keeper considered Abdullah as one of the castle servants addressing him saying; O Allah Servant! Enter if you wish; for I want to close the gate. Abdullah added in his story; So I went in the castle and hid myself. When the people got inside; the gate-keeper closed the gate and hung the keys on a fixed wooden peg. I got up and took the keys and opened the gate. Some people were staying late at night with Abu Rafi for a pleasant night chat in a room of his. When his companions of nightly entertainment went away; I ascended to him; and whenever I opened a door; I closed it from inside. I said to myself; Should these people discover my presence; they will not be able to catch me till I have killed him. So I reached him and found him sleeping in a dark house amidst his family; I could not recognize his location in the house. So I shouted; O Abu Rafi! Abu Rafi said; Who is it? I proceeded towards the source of the voice and hit him with the sword; and because of my perplexity; I could not kill him. He cried loudly; and I came out of the house and waited for a while; and then went to him again and said; What is this voice; O Abu Rafi? He said; Woe to your mother! A man in my house has hit me with a sword! I again hit him severely but I did not kill him. Then I drove the point of the sword into his belly and pressed it through till it touched his back; and I realized that I have killed him. I then opened the doors one by one till I reached the staircase; and thinking that I had reached the ground; I stepped out and fell down and got my leg broken in a moonlit night. I tied my leg with a turban and proceeded on till I sat at the gate; and said; I will not go out tonight till I know that I have killed him. So; when early in the morning the cock crowed; the announcer of the casualty stood on the wall saying; I announce the death of Abu Rafi; the merchant of Hijaz. Thereupon I went to my companions and said; Let us save ourselves; for Allah has killed Abu Rafi; So I along with my companions proceeded and went to the Prophet ﷺ and described the whole story to him. He said; Stretch out your broken leg. I stretched it out and he rubbed it and it became All right as if I had never had any ailment whatsoever. The Chapter on Lost And Found And The Companions in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The killing of Ab Rafi Abdullah Bin Abi AlHuqaiq in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6993Narrated Zaid Bin Thabit AlAnsari: who was one of those who used to write the Divine Revelation: Abu Bakr sent for me after the heavy casualties among the warriors of the battle of Yamama where a great number of Qurra were killed. Umar was present with Abu Bakr who said; Umar has come to me and said; The people have suffered heavy casualties on the day of the battle of Yamama; and I am afraid that there will be more casualties among the Qurra those who know the Quran by heart at other battle-fields; whereby a large part of the Quran may be lost; unless you collect it. And I am of the opinion that you should collect the Quran. Abu Bakr added; I said to Umar; How can I do something which Allah Apostle has not done? Umar said to me ; By Allah; it is really a good thing. So Umar kept on pressing; trying to persuade me to accept his proposal; till Allah opened my bosom for it and I had the same opinion as Umar. Zaid Bin Thabit added: Umar was sitting with him Abu Bakr and was not speaking. me. You are a wise young man and we do not suspect you of telling lies or of forgetfulness : and you used to write the Divine Inspiration for Allah Messenger ﷺ. Therefore; look for the Quran and collect it in one manuscript. By Allah; if he Abu Bakr had ordered me to shift one of the mountains from its place it would not have been harder for me than what he had ordered me concerning the collection of the Quran. I said to both of them; How dare you do a thing which the Prophet has not done? Abu Bakr said; By Allah; it is really a good thing. So I kept on arguing with him about it till Allah opened my bosom for that which He had opened the bosoms of Abu Bakr and Umar. So I started locating Quranic material and collecting it from parchments; scapula; leaf-stalks of date palms and from the memories of men who knew it by heart. I found with Khuzaima two Verses of Surat AlTauba which I had not found with anybody else; and they were :- Verily there has come to you an Apostle Muhammad from amongst yourselves. It grieves him that you should receive any injury or difficulty He Muhammad is ardently anxious over you to be rightly guided 9.128 The manuscript on which the Quran was collected; remained with Abu Bakr till Allah took him unto Him; and then with Umar till Allah took him unto Him; and finally it remained with Hafsa; Umar daughter. The Chapter on Lost And Found And Alquran in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prophetic Commentary on the Quran Tafseer of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-7224Narrated Ibn Abbas: For the whole year I had the desire to ask Umar Bin AlKhattab regarding the explanation of a Verse in Surat AlTahrim but I could not ask him because I respected him very much. When he went to perform the Hajj; I too went along with him. On our return; while we were still on the way home. Umar went Aasi de to answer the call of nature by the Arak trees. I waited till he finished and then I proceeded with him and asked him. O chief of the Believers! Who were the two wives of the Prophet ﷺ who aided one another against him? He said; They were Hafsa and Aisha. Then I said to him; By Allah; I wanted to ask you about this a year ago; but I could not do so owing to my respect for you. Umar said; Do not refrain from asking me. If you think that I have knowledge about a certain matter ; ask me; and if I know something about it ; I will tell you. Then Umar added; By Allah; in the Pre-lslamic Period of Ignorance we did not pay attention to women until Allah revealed regarding them what He revealed regarding them and assigned for them what He has assigned. Once while I was thinking over a certain matter; my wife said; I recommend that you do so-and-so. I said to her; What have you got to do with the is matter? Why do you poke your nose in a matter which I want to see fulfilled.? She said; How strange you are; O son of AlKhattab! You dont want to be argued with whereas your daughter; Hafsa surely; argues with Allah Messenger ﷺ so much that he remains angry for a full day! Umar then reported; how he at once put on his outer garment and went to Hafsa and said to her; O my daughter! Do you argue with Allah Messenger ﷺ so that he remains angry the whole day? H. afsa said; By Allah; we argue with him. Umar said; Know that I warn you of Allah punishment and the anger of Allah Messenger ﷺ... O my daughter! Dont be betrayed by the one who is proud of her beauty because of the love of Allah Messenger ﷺ for her i.e. Aisha. Umar addled; Then I went out to Umm Salamah house who was one of my relatives; and I talked to her. She said; O son of AlKhattab! It is rather astonishing that you interfere in everything; you even want to interfere between Allah Apostle and his wives! By Allah; by her talk she influenced me so much that I lost some of my anger. I left her and went home. At that time I had a friend from the Ansar who used to bring news from the Prophet in case of my absence; and I used to bring him the news if he was absent. In those days we were afraid of one of the kings of Ghassan tribe. We heard that he intended to move and attack us; so fear filled our hearts because of that. One day my Ansari friend unexpectedly knocked at my door; and said; Open Open! I said; Has the king of Ghassan come? He said; No; but something worse; Allah Messenger ﷺ has isolated himself from his wives. I said; Let the nose of Aisha and Hafsa be stuck to dust i.e. humiliated ! Then I put on my clothes and went to Allah Messenger ﷺ residence; and behold; he was staying in an upper room of his to which he ascended by a ladder; and a black slave of Allah Messenger ﷺ was sitting on the first step. I said to him; Say to the Prophet ﷺ Umar Bin AlKhattab is here. Then the Prophet ﷺ admitted me and I narrated the story to Allah Messenger ﷺ. When I reached the story of Umm Salamah ; Allah Messenger ﷺ smiled while he was lying on a mat made of palm tree leaves with nothing between him and the mat. Underneath his head there was a leather pillow stuffed with palm fibres; and leaves of a saut tree were piled at his feet; and above his head hung a few water skins. On seeing the marks of the mat imprinted on his side; I wept. He said. Why are you weeping? I replied; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! The gate was opened for us and there I was with Mousa Moses ﷺ He welcomed me and prayed for my well-being. Then I was taken up to the seventh heaven. Gabriel asked the gate to be opened. It was said: Who is he? He said: Gabriel It was said. Who is with thee? He replied: Muhammad ﷺ. It was said: Has he been sent for? He replied: He has indeed been sent for. The gate was opened for us and there I found Ibrahim Abraham ﷺ reclining against the Bait AlMamur and there enter into it seventy thousand angels every day; never to visit this place again. Then I was taken to Sidrat AlMuntaha whose leaves were like elephant ears and its fruit like big earthenware vessels. And when it was covered by the Command of Allah; it underwent such a change that none amongst the creation has the power to praise its beauty. Then Allah revealed to me a revelation and He made obligatory for me fifty prayers every day and night. Then I went down to Moses ﷺ and he said: What has your Lord enjoined upon your Ummah? I said: Fifty prayers. He said: Return to thy Lord and beg for reduction in the number of prayers ; for your community shallnot be able to bear this burden. as I have put to test the children of Israil and tried them and found them too weak to bear such a heavy burden. He the Holy Prophet said: I went back to my Lord and said: My Lord; make things lighter for my Ummah. The Lord reduced five prayers for me. I went down to Moses and said. The Lord reduced five prayers for me; He said: Verily thy Ummah shall not be able to bear this burden; return to thy Lord and ask Him to make things lighter. I then kept going back and forth between my Lord Blessed and Exalted and Moses; till He said: There are five prayers every day and night. O Muhammad; each being credited as ten; so that makes fifty prayers. He who intends to do a good deed and does not do it will have a good deed recorded for him; and if he does it; it will be recorded for him as ten; whereas he who intends to do an evil deed and does not do; it will not be recorded for him; and if he does it; only one evil deed will be recorded. I then came down and when I came to Moses and informed him; he said: Go back to thy Lord and ask Him to make things lighter. Upon this the Messenger of Allah remarked: I returned to my Lord until I felt ashamed before Him.The Chapter on Heaven Gabriel Moses And Abraham in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 74 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18704Anas Bin Malik reported: Abu Dharr used to relate that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The roof of my house was cleft when I was in Mecca and Gabriel descended and opened my heart and then washed it with the water of Zamzam. He then brought a gold basin full of wisdom and faith and after emptying it into my breast; he closed it up. Then taking me by he hand; he ascended with me to th heaven; and when we came to the lowest heaven; Gabriel said to the guardian of the lowest heaven: Open. He asked who was there? He replied. It is Gabriel. He again asked whe he there was someone with him. He replied: Yes; it is Muhammad with me. He was asked if he had been sent for; He Gabriel said: Yes. Then he opened the gate. When we ascended the lowest heaven I saw a man seated with parties on his right side and parties on his left side. When he looked up to his right; he laughed and when he looked to his left; he wept. He said: Welcome to the righteous apostle and the righteous son. I asked Gabriel who he was and he replied: He is Adam ﷺ and these parties on his right and on his left are the souls of his descendants. Those of them on his right are the inmates of Paradise and the parties which are on his left side are the inmates of Hell; so when he looked towards his right side; he laughed; and when he looked towards his left side; he wept. Then Gabriel ascended with me to the second heaven. He asked its guardian to open its gate ; and its guardian replied in the same way as the guardian of the lowest heaven had said. He opened it. Anas Bin Malik said: He the Holy Prophet mentioned that he found in the heavens Adam; Idris; Jesus; Moses and Abraham may peace be on all of them ; but he did not ascertain as to the nature of their abodes except that he had found Adam in the lowest heaven and Abraham in the sixth heaven. When Gabriel and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by Idris ﷺ he said: Welcome to the righteous apostle and righteous brother. He the narrator said: He then proceeded and said: Who is he? Gabriel replied: It is Idris. Then I passed by Moses ﷺ and he said: Welcome tothe righteous apostle and righteous brother. I said to Gabriel : Who is he? He replied: It is Moses. Then I passed by Jesus and he said: Welcome to the righteous apostle and righteous brother. I said to Gabriel : Who is he? He replied: Jesus; son of Mary. He the Holy Prophet said: Then I went to Ibrahim ﷺ. He said: Welcome to the righteous apostle and righteous son. I asked: Who is he? He Gabriel replied: It is Abraham. Ibn Shihab said: Ibn Hazm told me that Ibn Abbas and Abd Habba AlAnsari used to say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Thereafter he ascended with me till I was taken to such a height where I heard the scraping of the pens. Ibn Hazm and Anas told that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Allah then made fifty prayers obligatory for my Ummah and I returned with that and passed by Moses. Moses; ﷺ said: What has thy Lord enjoined on thy people? I said: Fifty prayers have been made obligatory on them. Moses ﷺ said: Return to thy Lord; for thy Ummah would not be able to bear this burden. Then I came back to my Lord and He remitted a portion out of thut. I then again went to Moses ﷺ and informed him about it He said: Return to thy Lord; for thy Ummah shall not be able to bear this burden. I then went back to my Lord and He said: They are five and at the same time fifty; and what has been said will not be changed. I then returned to Moses and he said: Go back to thy Lord. whereupon I said: I feel ashamed of my Lord. Gabriel then travelled with me till we came to the farthest lote-tree Many a colour had covered it which I do not know. Then I was admitted to Paradise and saw in it domes of pearls; and its soil of musk. The Chapter on Heaven Gabriel Moses And Abraham in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 74 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18705Anas Bin Malik reported on the authority of Malik Bin Sa sa; perhaps a person of his tribe; that the Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: I was near the House i. e. Kabah in a state between sleep and wakefulness when I heard someone say: He is the third among the two persons. Then he came to me and took me with him. Then a golden basin containing the water of Zamzam was brought to me and my heart was opened up to such and such part. Qatada said: I asked him who was with me i e. the narrator and what he meant by such and such part. He replied: It means that it was opened up to the lower part of his abdomen Then the hadith continues : My heart was extracted and it was washed with the water of Zamzam and then it was restored in its original position; after which it was filled with faith and wisdom. I was then brought a white beast which is called AlBuraq; bigger than a donkey and smaller than a mule. Its stride was as long as the eye could reach. I was mounted on it; and then we went forth till we reached the lowest heaven. Gabriel asked for the gate to be opened; and it was said: Who is he? He replied: Gabriel. It was again said: Who is with thee? He replied: Muhammad ﷺ. It was said: Has he been sent for? He Gabriel said: Yes. He the Prophet said: Then the gate was opened for us and it was said : Welcome unto him! His is a blessed arrival. Then we came to Adam ﷺ. And he the narrator narrated the whole account of the hadith. The Holy Prophet observed that he met Jesus in the second heaven; Yahya peace be on both of them in the third heaven; Yousif in the third; Idris in the fourth; Harun in the fifth peace and blessings of Allah be upon them. Then we travelled on till we reached the sixth heaven and came to Moses ﷺ and I greeted him and he said: Welcome unto righteous brother and righteous prophet. And when I passed by him he wept; and a voice was heard saying: What makes thee weep? He said: My Lord; he is a young man whom Thou hast sent after me as a prophet and his followers will enter Paradise in greater numbers than my followers. Then we travelled on till we reached the seventh heaven and I came to Ibrahim. He the narrator narrat- ed in this hadith that the Prophet of Allah ﷺ told that he saw four rivers which flowed from the root of the lote-tree of the farthest limits : two manifest rivers and two hidden rivers. I said: Gabriel! what are these rivers? He replied: The two hidden rivers are the rivers of Paradise; and as regards the two manifest ones; they are the Nile and the Euphrates. Then the Bait AlMamur was raised up to me. I said: O Gabriel! what is this? He replied: It is the Bait AlMamur. Seventy thousand angels enter into it daily and; after they come out; they never return again. Two vessels were then brought to me. The first one contained wine and the second one contained milk; and both of them were placed before me. I chose milk. It was said: You did right. Allah will guide rightly through you your Ummah on the natural course. Then fifty prayers daily were made obligatory for me. And then he narrated the rest of the hadith to the end.The Chapter on Heaven Gabriel Moses And Abraham in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 74 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18772It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira and Hudhaifa that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Allah; the Blessed and Exalted; would gather people. The believers would stand till the Paradise would be brought near them. They would come to Adam and say: O our father; open for us the Paradise. He would say: What turned ye out from the Paradise was the sin of your father Adam. I am not in a position to do that; better go to my son Ibrahim; the Friend of Allah. He the Holy Prophet said: He Ibrahim would say: I am not in a position to do that. Verily I had been the Friend of Allah from beyond; beyond; you better approach Moses ﷺ with whom Allah conversed. They would come to Moses ﷺ ; but he would say: I am not in a position to do that; you better go to Jesus; the Word of Allah and His Spirit. Jesus ﷺ would say: I am not in a position to do that. So they would come to Muhammad ﷺ. He would then be permitted to open the door of Paradise. Trustworthiness and kinship would be despatched; and these would stand on the right and left of the Path and the first of you would pass with the swiftness of lightning. He the narrator said: I said; O thou who art far dearer to me than my father and my mother I which thing is like the passing of lightning? He said: Have you not seen lightning; how it passes and then comes back within the twinkling of an eye? Then they would pass like the passing of the wind; then like the passing of a bird; and the hastening of persons would be according to their deeds; and your Apostle would be standing on the Path saying: Save; O my Lord; save. The people would go on passing till the deeds of the servants would be failing in strength; till a man would come who would find it hard to go along that Path but crawlingly. He the narrator said: And on the sides of the Path hooks would be suspended ready to catch anyone whom these would be required to catch. There would be those who would somehow or other succeed in trasversing that Path and some would be piled up in Hell. By Him in Whose Hand is the life of Abu Huraira it would take one seventy years to fathom the depth of Hell. The Chapter on Friday And Supplications in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 84 in Sahih Muslim

Verily my prayer; my sacrifice; my living and my dying are for Allah; the Lord of the worlds; There is no partner with Him and this is what I have been commanded to profess and believe and I am of the believers. O Allah; Thou art the King; there is no god but Thee; Thou art my Lord; and I am Thy bondman. I wronged myself and make a confession of my Sin. Forgive all my sins; for no one forgives the sins but Thee; and guide me in the best of conduct for none but Thee guideth anyone in good conduct. Remove sins from me; for none else but Thou can remove sins from me. Here I am at Thy service; and Grace is to Thee and the whole of good is in Thine hand; and one cannot get nearneststo Thee through evil. My power as well as existence is due to Thee Thine grace and I turn to Thee for supplication. Thou art blessed and Thou art exalted. I seek forgiveness from Thee and turn to Thee in repentance: and when he would bow; he would say: O Allah; it is for Thee that I bowed. I affirm my faith in Thee and I submit to Thee; and submit humbly before Thee my hearing; my eyesight; my marrow; my bone; my sinew; and when he would raise his head; he would say: O Allah; our Lord; praise is due to Thee; the praise with which is filled the heavens and the earth; and with which is filled that space which exists between them; and filled with anything that Thou desireth afterward. And when he prostrated himself; he the Holy Prophet would say: O Allah; it is to Thee that I prostrate myself and it is in Thee that I affirm my faith; and I submit to Thee. My face is submitted before One Who created it; and shaped it; and opened his faculties of hearing and seeing. Blessed is Allah; the best of Creators; and he would then say between Tashahhud and the pronouncing of salutation: Forgive me of the earlier and later open and secret sins and that where I made transgression and that Thou knowest better than I. SunanAlTermithi-017-001-9980Narrated AlZuhri: From Ubaid Bin AlSabbaq; that Zaid Bin Thabit narrated to him; he said: Abu Bakr AlSiddiq sent for me - regarding those killed at AlYamamah - and Umar Bin AlKhattab was with him. He Abu Bakr said: Umar came to me and said: The fighting inflicted many casualties among the reciters of the Quran on the Day of AlYamamah; and I fear that there will be more casualties among the reciters in other parts of the land; such that much of the Quran may be lost. In my view; you should order that the Quran be collected. Abu Bakr said to Umar: How can I do something which was not done my the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ? Umar said: By Allah! It is something good. Umar continued trying to convince me until Allah opened up my chest to that which He had opened the chest of Umar; and I saw it as he saw it. Zaid said: Abu Bakr said: You are a young wise man; and we have no suspicions of you. You used to write down the Revelation for the Messenger of Allah as the Quran was revealed. He Zaid said: By Allah! If they had ordered to move one of the mountains it would have been lighter on me than that. He said: I said: How will you do something which was not done by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ? Abu Bakr said: By Allah! It is something good. Abu Bakr and Umar continued trying to convince me; until Allah opened up my chest for that; just as He had opened their chests; the chest of Abu Bakr and the chest of Umar. So I began searching for Quranic material from parchments; leaf stalks of date-palms and AlLikhaf - meaning stones - and the chests of men. I found the end of Surah Baraah with Khuzaimah Bin Thabit: Verily; there has come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. It grieves him that you should receive any injury or difficulty. He is eager for you; for the believers he is full of pity; kind; and merciful. But if they turn away; say: Allah is sufficient for me. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25970Narrated AlBara Ibn Azib: We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ accompanying the bier of a man of the Ansar. When we reached his grave; it was not yet dug. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat down and we also sat down around him as if birds were over our heads. He had in his hand a stick with which he was scratching the ground. He then raised his head and said: Seek refuge with Allah from the punishment in the grave. He said it twice or thrice. The version of Jabir adds here: He hears the beat of their sandals when they go back; and at that moment he is asked: O so and so! Who is your Lord; what is your religion; and who is your Prophet? Hannad version says: Two angels will come to him; make him sit up and ask him: Who is your Lord? He will reply: My Lord is Allah. They will ask him: What is your religion? He will reply: My religion is Islam. They will ask him: What is your opinion about the man who was sent on a mission among you? He will reply: He is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They will ask: Who made you aware of this? He will reply: I read Allah Book; believed in it; and considered it true; which is verified by Allah words: Allah Book; believed in it; and considered it true; which is verified by Allah words: Allah establishes those who believe with the word that stands firm in this world and the next. The agreed version reads: Then a crier will call from Heaven: My servant has spoken the truth; so spread a bed for him from Paradise; clothe him from Paradise; and open a door for him into Paradise. So some of its air and perfume will come to him; and a space will be made for him as far as the eye can see. He also mentioned the death of the infidel; saying: His spirit will be restored to his body; two angels will come to him; make him sit up and ask him: Who is your Lord? He will reply: Alas; alas! I do not know. They will ask him: What is your religion? He will reply: Alas; alas! I do not know. They will ask: Who was the man who was sent on a mission among you? He will reply: Alas; alas! I do not know. Then a crier will call from Heaven: He has lied; so spread a bed for him from Hell; clothe him from Hell; and open for him a door into Hell. Then some of its heat and pestilential wind will come to him; and his grave will be compressed; so that his ribs will be crushed together. Jabir version adds: One who is blind and dumb will then be placed in charge of him; having a sledge-hammer such that if a mountain were struck with it; it would become dust. He will give him a blow with it which will be heard by everything between the east and the west except by men and jinn; and he will become dust. MuwataMalik-017-001-36024Yahya related to me from Malik that Ibn Shihab used to say; When a man catches the raka he says; Allah is greater once; and that takbir is enough for him. Malik added; That is if he intended to begin the prayer by that takbir Malik was asked about a man who began with the imam but forgot the opening takbir and the takbir of the ruku until he had done one raka. Then he remembered that he had not said the takbir at the opening nor in the ruku;so he said the takbir in the second raka. He said; I prefer that he start his prayer again; but if he forgets the opening takbir with the imam and says the takbir in the first ruku; I consider that enough for him if he intends by it the opening takbir. Malik said; about some one who prayed by himself and forgot the opening takbir; He begins his prayer afresh. Malik said; about an imam who forgot the opening takbir until he had finished his prayer; I think that he should do the prayer again; and those behind him; even if they have said the takbir. The Chapter on Tashahhud And Bowing in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Fasting in Muwata Malik
