SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2031 | Narrated Abu Mousa: I went to the Prophet ﷺ along with a group of AlAshariyin in order to request him to provide us with mounts. He said; By Allah; I will not provide you with mounts and I havent got anything to mount you on. Then we stayed there as long as Allah wished us to stay; and then three very nice looking camels were brought to him and he made us ride them. When we left; we; or some of us; said; By Allah; we will not be blessed; as we came to the Prophet ﷺ asking him for mounts; and he swore that he would not give us any mounts but then he did give us. So let us go back to the Prophet ﷺ and remind him of his oath. When we returned to him and reminded him of the fact ; he said; I did not give you mounts; but it is Allah Who gave you. By Allah; Allah willing; if I ever take an oath to do something and then I find something else than the first; I will make expiation for my oath and do the thing which is better or do something which is better and give the expiation for my oath. | The Chapter on Oaths And Pledges And Kaffara in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Allah will not punish you for what is unintentional in your oaths but He will punish you for your deliberate oaths in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2592 | Narrated Aisha: the wife of the Prophet that she was told that Abdullah Bin AlZubair on hearing that she was selling or giving something as a gift said; By Allah; if Aisha does not give up this; I will declare her incompetent to dispose of her wealth. I said; Did he Abdullah Bin AlZubair say so? They people said; Yes. Aisha said; I vow to Allah that I will never speak to Ibn AlZubair. When this desertion lasted long; Abdullah Bin AlZubair sought intercession with her; but she said; By Allah; I will not accept the intercession of anyone for him; and will not commit a sin by breaking my vow. When this state of affairs was prolonged on Ibn AlZubair he felt it hard on him ; he said to AlMiswar Bin Makhrama and Abdulrahman Bin AlAswad Bin Abu Yaghuth; who were from the tribe of Bani Zahra; I beseech you; by Allah; to let me enter upon Aisha; for it is unlawful for her to vow to cut the relation with me. So AlMiswar and Abdulrahman wrapping their sheets around themselves; asked Aisha permission saying; Peace and Allah Mercy and Blessings be upon you! Shall we come in? Aisha said; Come in. They said; All of us? She said; Yes; come in all of you; not knowing that Ibn AlZubair was also with them. So when they entered; Ibn AlZubair entered the screened place and got hold of Aisha and started requesting her to excuse him; and wept. AlMiswar and Abdulrahman also started requesting her to speak to him and to accept his repentance. They said to her ; The Prophet ﷺ forbade what you know of deserting not speaking to your Muslim Brethren ; for it is unlawful for any Muslim not to talk to his brother for more than three nights days. So when they increased their reminding her of the superiority of having good relation with Kith and kin; and of excusing others sins ; and brought her down to a critical situation; she started reminding them; and wept; saying; I have made a vow; and the question of vow is a difficult one. They AlMiswar and Abdulrahman persisted in their appeal till she spoke with Abdullah Bin AlZubair and she manumitted forty slaves as an expiation for her vow. Later on; whenever she remembered her vow; she used to weep so much that her veil used to become wet with her tears. | The Chapter on Obligations Towards Expiatory in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on AlHijra in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6866 | Narrated Ibn Abu Mulaika: Two women were stitching shoes in a house or a room. Then one of them came out with an awl driven into her hand; and she sued the other for it. The case was brought before Ibn Abbas; Ibn Abbas said; Allah Messenger ﷺ said; If people were to be given what they claim without proving their claim the life and property of the nation would be lost. Will you remind her i.e. the defendant ; of Allah and recite before her:-Verily! Ibn Abbas then said; The Prophet ﷺ said; The oath is to be taken by the defendant in the absence of any proof against him. | The Chapter on Oaths And Pledges And The Battle Of Badr in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prophetic Commentary on the Quran Tafseer of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari |

SunanAlTermithi-017-001-10055 | Narrated Saeed Bin Jubair: I was asked about those who were involved in the case of Lian and if they are to be separated; during the leadership of mousab Bin AlZubair. I did not know what to say. So I went to the house of Abdullah Bin Umar and I sought permission to enter. I was told he was taking a nap; but he heard me taking and he said: Is it Ibn Jubair? Enter. You would not have come except for a need. He said: So I entered and found him laying on a saddlecloth from his mount. I said: O Abu Abdulrahman Are those involved in Lian separated? He said: Glorious is Allah! Yes. The first who asked about hat was so-and-so the son of so-and-so. He came to the Prophet ﷺ and said O Messenger of Allah! If one of us saw his wife committing adultery; what should he do? If he were to say anything; his statement would be a horrible matter; and if he were to remain silent; his silence about the matter would be horrible. He said: So the Prophet ﷺ remained silent and did not answer him. Afterwards he came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: The one who asked you about it has been tried by it. So Allah revealed these Ayat from Surat AlNur: And those who accuse their wives and have no witnesses except themselves; let the testimony of one of them be four testimonies by Allah 24:6-10 - until the end of those Ayat. He said: So he called for the man and recited the Ayat to him and admonished him; reminded him; and he told him: Indeed the punishment of the world is less than the punishment of the Hereafter. So he said: Nay! By the One Who sent you with the Truth! I did not lie about her. Then he ﷺ did the same with the woman; admonishing her and reminding her and he told her: Indeed the punishment of the world is less than the punishment of the Hereafter. She said: Nay! By the One Who sent you with the Truth! He is not telling the truth. He said: So he started with the man: He testified four times; by Allah that he is one of the truthful; and the fifth time that the curse of Allah be upon him if he was one of the liars. Then the same with the woman: She testified four times by Allah; that he was one of the liars; and the fifth time that the wrath of Allah be upon her if he was one of the truthful.
