Enter not the Prophet's houses, - until leave is given you, - for a meal, (and then) not (so early as) to wait for its preparation: but when ye are invited, enter; and when ye have taken your meal, disperse, without seeking familiar talk. Such (behaviour) annoys the Prophet: he is ashamed to dismiss you, but Allah is not ashamed (to tell you) the truth. And when ye ask (his ladies) for anything ye want, ask them from before a screen: that makes for greater purity for your hearts and for theirs. Nor is it right for you that ye should annoy Allah's Messenger, or that ye should marry his widows after him at any time. Truly such a thing is in Allah's sight an enormity.

When Umar asked permission to enter; all of them hurried to screen themselves the Prophet ﷺ admitted Umar and he entered; while the Prophet ﷺ was smiling. Umar said; May Allah always keep you smiling; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you ! The Prophet ﷺ said; I am astonished at these women who were with me. As soon as they heard your voice; they hastened to screen themselves. Umar said; You have more right; that they should be afraid of you; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! And then he Umar turned towards them and said; O enemies of your souls! You are afraid of me and not of Allah Messenger ﷺ ? The women replied; Yes; for you are sterner and harsher than Allah Messenger ﷺ. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; O Ibn AlKhattab! SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3548		Narrated Anas: The Prophet ﷺ stayed for three days at a place between Khaibar and Medina; and there he consummated his marriage with Safiya bint Huyay. I invited the Muslims to a banquet which included neither meat nor bread. The Prophet ﷺ ordered for the leather dining sheets to be spread; and then dates; dried yogurt and butter were provided over it; and that was the Walima banquet of the Prophet. The Muslims asked whether Safiya would be considered as his wife or as a slave girl of what his right hands possessed. Then they said; If the Prophet ﷺ screens her from the people; then she Is the Prophet wife but if he does not screen her; then she is a slave girl. So when the Prophet ﷺ proceeded; he made a place for her on the camel behind him and screened her from people. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5088		Narrated Safwan Bin Muhriz AlMazini: While I was walking with Ibn Umar holding his hand; a man came in front of us and asked; What have you heard from Allah Messenger ﷺ about AlNajwa? Ibn Umar said; I heard Allah Messenger ﷺ saying; Allah will bring a believer near Him and shelter him with His Screen and ask him: Did you commit such-and-such sins? He will say: Yes; my Lord. Allah will keep on asking him till he will confess all his sins and will think that he is ruined. Allah will say: I did screen your sins in the world and I forgive them for you today; and then he will be given the book of his good deeds. Regarding infidels and hypocrites their evil acts will be exposed publicly and the witnesses will say: These are the people who lied against their Lord. Behold! SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5643		Narrated Ayoub : Hafsa said; We used to forbid our young women to go out for the two Id prayers. A woman came and stayed at the palace of Bani Khalaf and she narrated about her sister whose husband took part in twelve holy battles along with the Prophet ﷺ and her sister was with her husband in six out of these twelve. She the woman sister said; We used to treat the wounded; look after the patients and once I asked the Prophet; Is there any harm for any of us to stay at home if she doesnt have a veil? He said; She should cover herself with the veil of her companion and should participate in the good deeds and in the religious gathering of the Muslims. When Um Atiya came I asked her whether she had heard it from the Prophet. She replied; Yes. May my father be sacrificed for him the Prophet ! Whenever she mentioned the Prophet ﷺ she used to say; May my father be sacrificed for him I have heard the Prophet ﷺ saying; The unmarried young virgins and the mature girl who stay often screened or the young unmarried virgins who often stay screened and the menstruating women should come out and participate in the good deeds as well as the religious gathering of the faithful believers but the menstruating women should keep away from the Mousalla praying place. Hafsa asked Um Atiya surprisingly; Do you say the menstruating women? She replied; Doesnt a menstruating woman attend Arafat Hajj and such and such other deeds ? Did you hear anything about that? Um Atiya said; Bi Abi and she never mentioned the name of Allah Messenger ﷺ without saying Bi Abi i.e. Let my father be sacrificed for you. We asked her; Have you heard Allah Messenger ﷺ saying so and so about women ? She replied in the affirmative and said; Let my father be sacrificed for him. He told us that unmarried mature virgins who stay often screened or unmarried young virgins and mature girls who stay often screened should come out and take part in the good deeds and in the religious gatherings of the believers. But the menstruating women should keep away from the Mousalla praying place. I asked her; The menstruating women? She replied; Dont they present themselves at Arafat and at such and such places? When Allah Messenger ﷺ married Zainab bint Jahsh she was with him in the house and he prepared a meal and invited the people to it. They sat down after finishing their meal and started chatting. So the Prophet ﷺ went out and then returned several times while they were still sitting and talking. So Allah revealed the Verse: O you who believe! So go and sever the head of the image that is at the door so that it will become like a tree stump; and go and cut the screen and make two throw-cushions to be sat upon; and go and expel the dog. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did so; and the dog was a puppy belonging to AlHussain or AlHasan which was under his belongings; so he ordered him to expel it.
