SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1141 | Narrated Mabad Bin Hilal AlAnzi: We; i.e.; some people from Basra gathered and went to Anas Bin Malik; and we went in company with Thabit AlBunnani so that he might ask him about the Hadith of Intercession on our behalf. Behold; Anas was in his palace; and our arrival coincided with his Duha prayer. We asked permission to enter and he admitted us while he was sitting on his bed. We said to Thabit; Do not ask him about anything else first but the Hadith of Intercession. He said; O Abu Hamza! There are your brethren from Basra coming to ask you about the Hadith of Intercession. Anas then said; Muhammad talked to us saying; On the Day of Resurrection the people will surge with each other like waves; and then they will come to Adam and say; Please intercede for us with your Lord. He will say; I am not fit for that but youd better go to Abraham as he is the Khalil of the Beneficent. They will go to Abraham and he will say; I am not fit for that; but youd better go to Moses as he is the one to whom Allah spoke directly. So they will go to Moses and he will say; I am not fit for that; but youd better go to Jesus as he is a soul created by Allah and His Word. Be: And it was they will go to Jesus and he will say; I am not fit for that; but youd better go to Muhammad. They would come to me and I would say; I am for that. Then I will ask for my Lord permission; and it will be given; and then He will inspire me to praise Him with such praises as I do not know now. So I will praise Him with those praises and will fall down; prostrate before Him. Then it will be said; O Muhammad; raise your head and speak; for you will be listened to; and ask; for your will be granted your request ; and intercede; for your intercession will be accepted. I will say; O Lord; my followers! My followers! And then it will be said; Go and take out of Hell Fire all those who have faith in their hearts; equal to the weight of a barley grain. I will go and do so and return to praise Him with the same praises; and fall down prostrate before Him. Then it will be said; O Muhammad; raise your head and speak; for you will be listened to; and ask; for you will be granted your request ; and intercede; for your intercession will be accepted. I will say; O Lord; my followers! My followers! It will be said; Go and take out of it all those who have faith in their hearts equal to the weight of a small ant or a mustard seed. I will go and do so and return to praise Him with the same praises; and fall down in prostration before Him. It will be said; O; Muhammad; raise your head and speak; for you will be listened to; and ask; for you will be granted your request ; and intercede; for your intercession will be accepted. I will say; O Lord; my followers! Then He will say; Go and take out all those in whose hearts there is faith even to the lightest; lightest mustard seed. Take them out of the Fire. I will go and do so. When we left Anas; I said to some of my companions; Let pass by AlHasan who is hiding himself in the house of Abi Khalifa and request him to tell us what Anas Bin Malik has told us. So we went to him and we greeted him and he admitted us. We said to him; O Abu Said! We came to you from your brother Anas Bin Malik and he related to us a Hadith about the intercession the like of which I have never heard. He said; What is that? Then we told him of the Hadith and said; He stopped at this point of the Hadith. He said; What then? We said; He did not add anything to that. He said; Anas related the Hadith to me twenty years ago when he was a young fellow. I dont know whether he forgot or if he did not like to let you depend on what he might have said. We said; O Abu Saeed ! Let us know that. He smiled and said; Man was created hasty. I did not mention that; but that I wanted to inform you of it. Anas told me the same as he told you and said that the Prophet ﷺ added; I then return for a fourth time and praise Him similarly and prostrate before Him me the same as he O Muhammad; raise your head and speak; for you will be listened to; and ask; for you will be granted your request : and intercede; for your intercession will be accepted. I will say; O Lord; allow me to intercede for whoever said; None has the right to be worshiped except Allah. Then Allah will say; By my Power; and my Majesty; and by My Supremacy; and by My Greatness; I will take out of Hell Fire whoever said: None has the right to be worshipped except Allah. | The Chapter on Allah And Prophets Praise And Prostration in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The Talk of the Lord to the Prophets and others on the Day of Resurrection in Sahih AlBukhari

They said; All of us? She said; Yes; come in all of you; not knowing that Ibn AlZubair was also with them. So when they entered; Ibn AlZubair entered the screened place and got hold of Aisha and started requesting her to excuse him; and wept. AlMiswar and Abdulrahman also started requesting her to speak to him and to accept his repentance. They said to her ; The Prophet ﷺ forbade what you know of deserting not speaking to your Muslim Brethren ; for it is unlawful for any Muslim not to talk to his brother for more than three nights days. So when they increased their reminding her of the superiority of having good relation with Kith and kin; and of excusing others sins ; and brought her down to a critical situation; she started reminding them; and wept; saying; I have made a vow; and the question of vow is a difficult one. They AlMiswar and Abdulrahman persisted in their appeal till she spoke with Abdullah Bin AlZubair and she manumitted forty slaves as an expiation for her vow. Later on; whenever she remembered her vow; she used to weep so much that her veil used to become wet with her tears. | The Chapter on Obligations Towards Expiatory in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on AlHijra in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2659 | Narrated Ibn Umar: Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Inform me of a tree which resembles a Muslim; giving its fruits at every season by the permission of its Lord; and the leaves of which do not fall. I thought of the date-palm tree; but I disliked to speak because Abu Bakr and Umar were present there. When nobody spoke; the Prophet ﷺ said; It is the date-palm tree When I came out with my father; I said; O father! It came to my mind that it was the date-palm tree. He said; What prevented you from saying it? Had you said it; it would have been more dearer to me than such-and-such a thing fortune. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3351 | Narrated Aisha: the wife of the Prophet Allah Messenger ﷺ died while Abu Bakr was at a place called AlSunah AlAliya Umar stood up and said; By Allah! Allah Messenger ﷺ is not dead! Umar later on said; By Allah! Nothing occurred to my mind except that. He said; Verily! Allah will resurrect him and he will cut the hands and legs of some men. Then Abu Bakr came and uncovered the face of Allah Messenger ﷺ ; kissed him and said; Let my mother and father be sacrificed for you; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; you are good in life and in death. By Allah in Whose Hands my life is; Allah will never make you taste death twice. Then he went out and said; O oath-taker! Dont be hasty. When Abu Bakr spoke; Umar sat down. Abu Bakr praised and glorified Allah and said; No doubt! Whoever worshipped Muhammad; then Muhammad is dead; but whoever worshipped Allah; then Allah is Alive and shall never die. Then he recited Allah Statement.:- O Muhammad Verily you will die; and they also will die. 39.30 He also recited:- Muhammad is no more than an Apostle; and indeed many Apostles have passed away; before him; If he dies Or is killed; will you then Turn back on your heels? And he who turns back On his heels; not the least Harm will he do to Allah And Allah will give reward to those Who are grateful. 3.144 The people wept loudly; and the Ansar were assembled with Sad Bin Ubada in the shed of Bani Saida. They said to the emigrants. There should be one Amir from us and one from you. Then Abu Bakr; Umar Bin AlKhattab and Abu baida Bin AlJarrah went to them. Umar wanted to speak but Abu Bakr stopped him. Umar later on used to say; By Allah; I intended only to say something that appealed to me and I was afraid that Abu Bakr would not speak so well. Then Abu Bakr spoke and his speech was very eloquent. He said in his statement; We are the rulers and you Ansars are the ministers i.e. advisers ; Hubab Bin AlMundhir said; No; by Allah we wont accept this. But there must be a ruler from us and a ruler from you. Abu Bakr said; No; we will be the rulers and you will be the ministers; for they i.e. Quarish are the best family amongst the Arabs and of best origin. So you should elect either Umar or Abu Ubaida Bin AlJarrah as your ruler. Umar said to Abu Bakr ; No but we elect you; for you are our chief and the best amongst us and the most beloved of all of us to Allah Messenger ﷺ. So Umar took Abu Bakr hand and gave the pledge of allegiance and the people too gave the pledge of allegiance to Abu Bakr. Someone said; You have killed Sad Bin Ubada. They replied If he asks for a lady hand; he ought to be given her in marriage; and if he intercedes for someone his intercessor should be accepted; and if he speaks; he should be listened to. Allah Messenger ﷺ kept silent; and then a man from among the poor Muslims passed by; an Allah Apostle asked them What do you say about this man? They replied; If he asks for a lady hand in marriage he does not deserve to be married; and he intercedes for someone ; his intercession should not be accepted; And if he speaks; he should not be listened to. He asked; Why does she not speak. The people said; She has intended to perform Hajj without speaking. He said to her; Speak; for it is illegal not to speak; as it is an action of the pre-islamic period of ignorance. So she spoke and said; Who are you? He said; A man from the Emigrants. She asked; Which Emigrants? He replied; From Quraish. She asked; From what branch of Quraish are you? He said; You ask too many questions; I am Abu Bakr. She said; How long shall we enjoy this good order i.e. Islamic religion which Allah has brought after the period of ignorance? He said; You will enjoy it as long as your Imams keep on abiding by its rules and regulations. She asked; What are the Imams? SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3735 | Narrated Ubaidullah Bin Adi Bin AlKhiyar: That AlMiswar Bin Makhrama and Abdulrahman Bin AlAswad Bin Abu Yaghuth had said to him; What prevents you from speaking to your uncle Uthman regarding his brother AlWalid Bin Uqba? The people were speaking against the latter for what he had done. Ubaidullah said; So I kept waiting for Uthman; and when he went out for the prayer; I said to him; I have got something to say to you as a piece of advice. Uthman said; O man! I seek Refuge with Allah from you. So I went away. When I finished my prayer; I sat with AlMiswar and Ibn Abu Yaghutb and talked to both of them of what I had said to Uthman and what he had said to me. They said; You have done your duty. So while I was sitting with them. Uthman Messenger came to me. They said; Allah has put you to trial. I set out and when I reached Uthman; he said; What is your advice which you mentioned a while ago? I recited Tashahhud and added; Allah has sent Muhammad and has revealed the Holy Book i.e. Quran to him. You O Uthman! were amongst those who responded to the call of Allah and His Apostle and had faith in him. And you took part in the first two migrations to Ethiopia and to Medina ; and you enjoyed the company of Allah Messenger ﷺ and learned his traditions and advice. Now the people are talking much about AlWalid Bin Uqba and so it is your duty to impose on him the legal punishment. Uthman then said to me; O my nephew! Did you ever meet Allah Messenger ﷺ ? I said; No; but his knowledge has reached me as it has reached the virgin in her seclusion. Uthman then recited Tashahhud and said; No doubt; Allah has sent Muhammad with the Truth and has revealed to him His Holy Book i.e. Quran and I was amongst those who responded to the call of Allah and His Apostle and I had faith in Muhammad Mission; and I had performed the first two migrations as you have said; and I enjoyed the company of Allah Messenger ﷺ and gave the pledge of allegiance to him. By Allah; I never disobeyed him and never cheated him till Allah caused him to die. Then Allah made Abu Bakr Caliph; and by Allah; I was never disobedient to him; nor did I cheat him. Then Umar became Caliph; and by Allah; I was never disobedient to him; nor did I cheat him. Then I became Caliph. Have I not then the same rights over you as they had over me? I replied in the affirmative. Uthman further said; The what are these talks which are reaching me from you? As for what you ha mentioned about AlWalid Bin Uqb; Allah willing; I shall give him the leg; punishment justly. Then Uthman ordered that AlWalid be flogged fort lashes. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4111 | Narrated Abu Huraira and Zaid Bin Khalid AlJuhani: A bedouin came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and said; O Allah apostle! I ask you by Allah to judge My case according to Allah Laws. His opponent; who was more learned than he; said; Yes; judge between us according to Allah Laws; and allow me to speak. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Speak. He i.e. the bedouin or the other man said; My son was working as a laborer for this man and he committed illegal sexual intercourse with his wife. The people told me that it was obligatory that my son should be stoned to death; so in lieu of that I ransomed my son by paying one hundred sheep and a slave girl. Then I asked the religious scholars about it; and they informed me that my son must be lashed one hundred lashes; and be exiled for one year; and the wife of this man must be stoned to death. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; By Him in Whose Hands my soul is; I will judge between you according to Allah Laws. The slave-girl and the sheep are to be returned to you; your son is to receive a hundred lashes and be exiled for one year. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4260 | Narrated Abu Huraira: Once Allah Messenger ﷺ ; offered the morning prayer and then faced the people and said; While a man was driving a cow; he suddenly rode over it and beat it. The cow said; We have not been created for this; but we have been created for sloughing. On that the people said astonishingly; Glorified be Allah! A cow speaks! The Prophet ﷺ said; I believe this; and Abu Bakr and Umar too; believe it; although neither of them was present there. While a person was amongst his sheep; a wolf attacked and took one of the sheep. The man chased the wolf till he saved it from the wolf; where upon the wolf said; You have saved it from me; but who will guard it on the day of the wild beasts when there will be no shepherd to guard them except me because of riots and afflictions ? SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6991 | Narrated Abdullah Bin Kaab I heard Kaab Bin Malik who was one of the three who were forgiven; saying that he had never remained behind Allah Messenger ﷺ in any Ghazwa which he had fought except two Ghazwat Ghazwat- AlUsra Tabuk and Ghazwat-Badr. He added. I decided to tell the truth to Allah Messenger ﷺ in the forenoon; and scarcely did he return from a journey he made; except in the forenoon; he would go first to the Masjid and offer a two-rakat prayer. The Prophet ﷺ forbade others to speak to me or to my two companions; but he did not prohibit speaking to any of those who had remained behind excepting us. So the people avoided speaking to us; and I stayed in that state till I could no longer bear it; and the only thing that worried me was that I might die and the Prophet ﷺ would not offer the funeral prayer for me; or Allah Messenger ﷺ might die and I would be left in that social status among the people that nobody would speak to me or offer the funeral prayer for me. But Allah revealed His Forgiveness for us to the Prophet ﷺ in the last third of the night while Allah Messenger ﷺ was with Um Salama. Umm Salamah sympathized with me and helped me in my disaster. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; O Umm Salamah ! Kaab has been forgiven! She said; Shall I send someone to him to give him the good tidings? He said; If you did so; the people would not let you sleep the rest of the night. So when the Prophet ﷺ had offered the Fajr prayer; he announced Allah Forgiveness for us. His face used to look as bright as a piece of the full moon whenever he was pleased. When Allah revealed His Forgiveness for us; we were the three whose case had been deferred while the excuse presented by those who had apologized had been accepted. But when there were mentioned those who had told the Prophet ﷺ lies and remained behind the battle of Tabuk and had given false excuses; they were described with the worse description one may be described with. Allah said: They will present their excuses to you Muslims when you return to them. Say: Present no excuses; we shall not believe you. Allah has already informed us of the true state of matters concerning you. Allah and His Apostle will observe your actions. 9.94 | The Chapter on Military Expedition And Quraish in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prophetic Commentary on the Quran Tafseer of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-7012 | Narrated Ibn Umar: While we were with Allah Messenger ﷺ he said; Tell me of a tree which resembles a Muslim man. Its leaves do not fall and it does not; and does not; and does not; and it gives its fruits every now and then. So when they did not say anything; Allah Messenger ﷺ said; It is the date-palm tree. When we got up from that place ; I said to Umar; O my father! By Allah; it came to my mind that it must be the date palm tree. Umar said; What prevented you from speaking I replied; I did not see you speaking; so I misliked to speak or say anything. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-7071 | Narrated Aisha: When there was said about me what was said which I myself was unaware of; Allah Messenger ﷺ got up and addressed the people. He recited Tashah-hud; and after glorifying and praising Allah as He deserved; he said; To proceed: O people Give me your opinion regarding those people who made a forged story against my wife. By Allah; I do not know anything bad about her. By Allah; they accused her of being with a man about whom I have never known anything bad; and he never entered my house unless I was present there; and whenever I went on a journey; he went with me. Saad Bin Muadh got up and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ Allow me to chop their heads off. Then a man from the AlKhazraj Saad Bin Ubada to whom the mother of the poet Hassan Bin Thabit was a relative; got up and said to Saad Bin Muadh ; You have told a lie! By Allah; if those persons were from the Aus Tribe; you would not like to chop their heads off. It was probable that some evil would take place between the Aus and the Khazraj in the Masjid; and I was unaware of all that. In the evening of that day; I went out for some of my needs i.e. to relieve myself ; and Um Mistah was accompanying me. On our return; Um Mistah stumbled and said; Let Mistah. be ruined I said to her; O mother Why do you abuse your Son On that Um Mistah became silent for a while; and stumbling again; she said; Let Mistah be ruined I said to her; Why do you abuse your son? She stumbled for the third time and said; Let Mistah be ruined whereupon I rebuked her for that. She said; By Allah; I do not abuse him except because of you. I asked her; Concerning what of my affairs? So she disclosed the whole story to me. I said; Has this really happened? She replied; Yes; by Allah. I returned to my house; astonished and distressed that I did not know for what purpose I had gone out. Then I became sick fever and said to Allah Messenger ﷺ Send me to my father house. So he sent a slave with me; and when I entered the house; I found Um Rum-an my mother downstairs while my father Abu Bakr was reciting something upstairs. My mother asked; What has brought you; O my daughter? I informed her and mentioned to her the whole story; but she did not feel it as I did. She said; O my daughter! Take it easy; for there is never a charming lady loved by her husband who has other wives but that they feel jealous of her and speak badly of her. But she did not feel the news as I did. I asked her ; Does my father know about it? She said; yes I asked; Does Allah Messenger ﷺ know about it too? She said; Yes; Allah Messenger ﷺ does too. So the tears filled my eyes and I wept. Abu Bakr; who was reading upstairs heard my voice and came down and asked my mother; What is the matter with her? She said; She has heard what has been said about her as regards the story of Allfk. On that Abu Bakr wept and said; I beseech you by Allah; O my daughter; to go back to your home. I went back to my home and Allah Messenger ﷺ had come to my house and asked my maid-servant about me my character. The maid-servant said; By Allah; I do not know of any defect in her character except that she sleeps and let the sheep enter her house and eat her dough. On that; some of the Prophet companions spoke harshly to her and said; Tell the truth to Allah Messenger ﷺ. Finally they told her of the affair of the slander. She said; Subhan Allah! By Allah; I know nothing against her except what goldsmith knows about a piece of pure gold. Then this news reached the man who was accused; and he said; Subhan Allah! By Allah; I have never uncovered the private parts of any woman. Later that man was martyred in Allah Cause. Next morning my parents came to pay me a visit and they stayed with me till Allah Messenger ﷺ came to me after he had offered the Asr prayer. He came to me while my parents were sitting around me on my right and my left. He praised and glorified Allah and said; Now then O Aisha! If you have committed a bad deed or you have wronged yourself ; then repent to Allah as Allah accepts the repentance from his slaves. An AlAnsari woman had come and was sitting near the gate. I said to the Prophet. Isnt it improper that you speak in such a way in the presence of this lady? Allah Apostle then gave a piece of advice and I turned to my father and requested him to answer him on my behalf. My father said; What should I say? Then I turned to my mother and asked her to answer him. She said; What should I say? When my parents did not give a reply to the Prophet; I said; I testify that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah; and that Muhammad is His Apostle! And after praising and glorifying Allah as He deserves; I said; Now then; by Allah; if I were to tell you that I have not done this evil action and Allah is a witness that I am telling the truth; that would not be of any use to me on your part because you people have spoken about it and your hearts have absorbed it; and if I were to tell you that I have done this sin and Allah knows that I have not done it; then you will say; She has confessed herself guilty. By Allah; I do not see a suitable example for me and you but the example of I tried to remember Jacob name but couldnt Joseph father when he said; So for me Patience is most fitting against that which you assert. It is Allah alone whose help can be sought. At that very hour the Divine Inspiration came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and we remained silent. Then the Inspiration was over and I noticed the signs of happiness on his face while he was removing the sweat from his forehead and saying; Have the good tidings O Aisha! Allah has revealed your innocence. At that time I was extremely angry. My parents said to me. Get up and go to him. I said; By Allah; I will not do it and will not thank him nor thank either of you; but I will thank Allah Who has revealed my innocence. You have heard this story but neither did not deny it nor change it to defend me ; Aisha used to say: But as regards Zainab bint Jahsh; the Prophet wife ; Allah protected her because of her piety; so she did not say anything except good about me ; but her sister; Hamna; was ruined among those who were ruined. Those who used to speak evil about me were Mistah; Hassan Bin Thabit; and the hypocrite; Abdullah Bin Ubai; who used to spread that news and tempt others to speak of it; and it was he and Hamna who had the greater share therein. Abu Bakr took an oath that he would never do any favor to Mistah at all. Then Allah revealed the Divine Verse: Let not those among you who are good and wealthy i.e. Abu Bakr swear not to give any sort of help to their kinsmen; and those in need; i.e. Mistah...Do you not love that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Oft-Forgiving; Most Merciful. 24.22 On that; Abu Bakr said; Yes; by Allah; O our Lord! We wish that You should forgive us. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: The eldest one eldest in regard to age should speak. So he kept quiet; and his companions Muhayisa and Huwayisa began to speak; and he Abdulrahman spoke along with them and they narrated to Allah Messenger ﷺ the murder of Abdullah Bin Sahl. Thereupon he said to them: Are you prepared to take fifty oaths so that you may be entitled to blood-wit of your companion or your man who has murdered ? They said: How can we take an oath on a matter which we have not witnessed? He the Holy Prophet said: Then the Jews will exonerate themselves by fifty oaths. A person said: Messenger of Allah; does good produce evil? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ remained silent. And it was said to him the man who had asked the question from the Holy Prophet : What Is the matter with you; that you speak with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ but he does not speak with you? We thought as if revelation was descending upon him. As they were talking about it there came Ali Bin Abu Talib and stood before them; and they made a mention of it to him. Ali Bin Abu Talib said: Dont do that; by Allah he the Holy Prophet would not do that would not accept your request. Rabia Bin Harith turned to him and said: By Allah; you are not doing so but out of jealousy that you nurse against us By Allah; you became the son-in-law of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ but we felt no jealousy against you for this great privilege of yours. Ali then said: Send them if you like. They set out and Ali lay on the bed. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ offered the noon prayer. we went ahead of him to his apartment and stood near it till he came out. He took hold of our ears out of love and affection and then said: Give out what you have kept in your hearts. He then entered the apartment and we also went in and he the Holy Prophet was on that day in the house of Zainab Bin jahsh. We urged each of us to speak. Then one of us thus spoke: Messenger of Allah; you are the best of humanity and the best to cement the ties of blood-relations. We have reached the-marriageable age. We have come to you so that you may appoint us as collectors of these sadaqat. and we would pay you just as thin people other collectors pay you; and get our share as others get it. He the Holy Prophet kept silence for a long time till we wished that we should speak with him again ; and Zainab pointied to us from behind the curtain not to talk any more. There are three things; whoever speaks of one of them; then he has uttered one of the worst lies against Allah. Whoever claims that Muhammad saw his Lord. Then he has uttered one the worst lies against Allah; Allah says: No vision can grasp Him; but His grasp is over all vision; and He is the Most Subtle; Well-Acquainted with all things 6:103. It is not for any human being that Allah should speak to him unless it be by revelation or from behind a veil 42:91. I was reclining so I sat up an said: O Mother of the Believers! Take your time with me and do not be hasty with me! Did Allah Most High not say: And indeed he saw him at a second descent 53:13. And And indeed he saw him in the clear horizon 81:23. She said By Allah! I was the first who asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about this. He said: That was only Jibril. I did not see him in the appearance he was created in except for these two times. The Prophet ﷺ said Produce evidence or you must receive punishment on your back. He said Apostle of Allaah ﷺ when one of us sees a man having intercourse with his wife should he go and seek evidence? But the Prophet ﷺ merely said You must produce evidence or you must receive punishment on your back. Hilal then said By Him Who sent you with the Truth; I am speaking Truly. May Allaah send down something which will free my back from punishment. Then the following Quranic verses were revealed And those who make charges against their spouses but have no witnesses except themselves reciting till he reached one of those who speak the truth. The Prophet ﷺ then returned and sent for them and they came to him. Hilal Bin Umayah stood up and testified and the Prophet ﷺ was saying Allaah knows that one of you is lying. Will one of you repent? Then the woman got up and testified; but when she was about to do it a fifth time saying that Allaahs anger be upon her if he was one of those who spoke the truth; they said to her this is the deciding one. Ibn Abbas said She then hesitated and drew back so that we thought the she would withdraw what she said Look and see whether she gives birth to a child with eyes looking as if they have antimony in them; wide buttocks and fat legs; if she did. One day Muadh Bin jabal said: In the times after you there would be trails in which riches would be abundant. During these trails the Quran would be easy so much so that every believer; hypocrite; man; woman; young; grown up; slave and free man will learn it. Then a man might say: What happened with the people that they do not follow me while I read the Quran? They are not going to follow me until I introduce a novelty for them other than it. So avoid that which is innovated in religion ; for whichever is innovated is an error. We said : would that we meet any of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ so that we could ask him about what they say with regard to divine decree. So Allah helped us to meet Abdullah Bin Umar who was entering the Masjid. So I and my companion surrounded him; and I thought that my companion would entrust me the task of speaking to him. Then I said : Abu Abdulrahman there appeared on our side some people who recite the Quran and are engaged in the hair-splitting of knowledge. They conceive that there is no Divine decree and everything happens freely without predestination. He said : When you meet those people; tell them that I am free from them; and they are free from me. By Him by Whom swears Abdullah Bin Umar; if one of them has gold equivalent to Uhud and he spends it; Allah will not accept it from him until he believes in Divine decree. He then said : Umar Bin AlKhattab transmitted to me a tradition; saying : One day when we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a man with very white clothing and very black hair came up to us. No mark of travel was visible on him; and we did not recognize him. Sitting down beside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; leaning his knees against his and placing his hands on his thighs; he said : tell me; Muhammad; about Islam. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said : Islam means that you should testify that there is no god but Allah; and Muhammad is Allahs Apostle; that you should observe prayer; pay Zakat; fast during Ramadan; and perform Hajj to the house i.e.; Kabah ; If you have the means to go. He said : You have spoken the truth. We were surprised at his questioning him and then declaring that he spoke the truth. He said : Now tell me about faith. He replied : It means that you should believe in Allah; his angels; his Books; his Apostles and the last day; and that you should believe in the decreeing both of good and evil. He said : You have spoken the truth. He said : now tell me about doing good ihsan. He replied: It means that you should worship Allah as though you are seeing him; if you are not seeing him; he is seeing you. He said: Now tell me about the hour. He replied : The one who is asked about it is no better informed than the one who is asking. He said : Then tell me about its signs. He replied : That a maidservant should beget her mistress; and that you should see barefooted; naked; poor men and shepherds exalting themselves in buildings. It means that a man expresses his eloquence by praising another man; and he speaks the truth about him so much so that he attracts the hearts to his speech. He then condemns him and speaks the truth about him so much so that he attracts the hearts to another of his speech; as if he spelled the audience by it. | The Chapter on Truth And Hypocrisy And Dreams in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on What has been narrated about poetry in Sunan Abu Dawoud

SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-27986 | Abu Huraira said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in one of the evening Asha prayers; noon or afternoon. He led us in two Rakahs and gave the salutation. He then got up going towards a piece of wood which was placed in the front part of the Masjid. He placed his hands upon it; one on the other; looking from his face as if he were angry. The people came out hastily saying: the prayer has been shortened. Abu Bakr and Umar were among the people; but they were too afraid to speak to him. A man whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would call the possessor of arms Dhu AlYadain stood up asking him : Have you forgotten. The Messenger of Allah; or has the prayer been shortened? He said: I have neither forgotten nor has it been shortened. He said : Messenger of Allah ; you have forgotten. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned towards the people and asked : did the possessor of arms speak the truth? They made a sign ; that is; yes. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned to his place and prayed the remaining two Rakahs; then gave the salutation; he then uttered the takbir and prostrated himself as usual or prolonged. He then raised his head and uttered the takbir; then he uttered the takbir and made prostration as usual or made longer prostration. Then he raised his head his and uttered the takbir Allah is most great. The narrator Muhammad was asked : Did he give the salutation while prostrating dueto forgetfulness? MuwataMalik-017-001-34398 | Malik related to me from Muhammad Ibn Amr Ibn Alqama from his father from Bilal Ibn AlHarith AlMuzani that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; A man speaks what is pleasing to Allah and he does not suspect that it will have the result that it does; and Allah will write for him His good pleasure for it until the day when he meets Him. And a man speaks what excites the wrath of Allah and he does not suspect that it will have the result that it does; and Allah will write His wrath for him for it until the day when he meets Him. | The Chapter on Love And Emotions Meeting Death in HodHood Indexing, The Book of The Two Ids in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-34772 | Malik related to me from Ibn Shihab from Ubaydullah Ibn Abdullah Ibn Utba Ibn Masud that Abu Huraira and Zayd Ibn Khalid AlJuhani informed him that two men brought a dispute to the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace. One of them said; Messenger of Allah! Judge between us by the Book of Allah! The other said; and he was the wiser of the two; Yes; Messenger of Allah. Judge between us by the Book of Allah and give me permission to speak. He said; Speak. He said; My son was hired by this person and he committed fornication with his wife. He told me that my son deserved stoning; and I ransomed him for one hundred sheep and a slave-girl. Then I asked the people of knowledge and they told me that my son deserved to be flogged with one hundred lashes and exiled for a year; and they informed me that the woman deserved to be stoned. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; By him in whose Hand myself is; I will judge between you by the Book of Allah. As for your sheep and slave girl; they should be returned to you. Your son should have one hundred lashes and be exiled for a year. He ordered Unays AlAslami to go to the wife of the other man and to stone her if she confessed. MuwataMalik-017-001-35395 | Yahya related to me from Malik that Humayd Ibn Qays and Thawr Ibn Zayd adDili both informed him that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and one of them gave more detail than the other ;saw a man standing in the sun. The Messenger asked; What wrong with him? The people said; He has vowed not to speak or to seek shade from the sun or to sit and to fast. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Go and tell him to speak; seek shade; and sit; but let him complete his fast. Malik said; I have not heard that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ordered the man in question to do any kaffara. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; only ordered him to complete that in which there was obedience to Allah and to abandon that in which there was disobedience to Allah. | The Chapter on Peace And Evil in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Jihad in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35397 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Talha Ibn Abi AlMalik AlAyli from AlQasim Ibn Muhammad Ibn AlSiddiq from Aisha that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Whoever vows to obey Allah; let him obey Him. Whoever vows to disobey Allah; let him not disobey Him. Yahya said that he had heard Malik say; The meaning of the statement of the Prophet; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; Whoever vows to disobey Allah; let him not disobey Him is that for instance a man who vows that; if he speaks to such-and-such a person; he will walk to Syria; Egypt; or any other such things which are not considered as ibada; is not under any obligation by any of that; even if he did speak to the man or did break whatever it was he swore; because Allah does not demand obedience in such things. Malik said; Some one who is in ihram should not raise his voice when doing talbiya if he is in a Masjid where there are groups of people. He should only speak loudly enough for himself and those who are near him to be able to hear; except in the Masjid alHaram and the Masjid at Mina; where he should raise his voice.
