SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4105 | Narrated Jabir: While I was riding a slow and tired camel; the Prophet ﷺ passed by and beat it and prayed for Allah Blessings for it. The camel became so fast as it had never been before. The Prophet ﷺ then said; Sell it to me for one Uqiya of gold. I said; No. He again said; Sell it to me for one Uqiya of gold. I sold it and stipulated that I should ride it to my house. When we reached Medina I took that camel to the Prophet ﷺ and he gave me its price. I returned home but he sent for me and when I went to him he said; I will not take your camel. Take your camel as a gift for you. Various narrations are mentioned here with slight variations in expressions relating the condition that Jabir had the right to ride the sold camel up to Medina. | The Chapter on Camels And Herdsmen And Almedinah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on It is permissible for the seller to ride the sold animal up to a certain place in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5372 | Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: I was with the Prophet ﷺ in a Ghazwa Military Expedition and my camel was slow and exhausted. The Prophet came up to me and said; O Jabir. I replied; Yes? He said; What is the matter with you? I replied; My camel is slow and tired; so I am left behind. So; he got down and poked the camel with his stick and then ordered me to ride. I rode the camel and it became so fast that I had to hold it from going ahead of Allah Messenger ﷺ. He then asked me; have you got married? I replied in the affirmative. He asked; A virgin or a matron? I replied; I married a matron. The Prophet ﷺ said; Why have you not married a virgin; so that you may play with her and she may play with you? Jabir replied; I have sisters young in age so I liked to marry a matron who could collect them all and comb their hair and look after them. The Prophet ﷺ said; You will reach; so when you have arrived at home ; I advise you to associate with your wife that you may have an intelligent son. Then he asked me; Would you like to sell your camel? I replied in the affirmative and the Prophet ﷺ purchased it for one Uqiya of gold. Allah Messenger ﷺ reached before me and I reached in the morning; and when I went to the Masjid; I found him at the door of the Masjid. He asked me; Have you arrived just now? I replied in the affirmative. He said; Leave your camel and come into the Masjid and pray two rakat. I entered and offered the prayer. He told Bilal to weigh and give me one Uqiya of gold. So Bilal weighed for me fairly and I went away. The Prophet ﷺ sent for me and I thought that he would return to me my camel which I hated more than anything else. But the Prophet ﷺ said to me; Take your camel as well as its price. | The Chapter on Camels And Herdsmen And Almedinah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The purchase of animals and donkeys in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5441 | Narrated Urwa: Aisha said; Barira came to me and said; I have agreed with my masters to pay them nine Uqiyas of gold in installments one Uqiya per year; please help me. I said; I am ready to pay the whole amount now provided your masters agree that your Wala will be for me. So; Barira went to her masters and told them about that offer but they refused to accept it. She returned; and at that time; Allah Messenger ﷺ was sitting present. Barira said; I told them of the offer but they did not accept it and insisted on having the Wala. The Prophet ﷺ heard that. Aisha narrated the whole story to the Prophet. He said to her; Buy her and stipulate that her Wala would be yours as the Wala is for the manumitter. Aisha did so. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ stood up in front of the people; and after glorifying Allah he said; Amma Badu i.e. then after ! What about the people who impose conditions which are not in Allah Book Laws ? Any condition that is not in Allah Book Laws is invalid even if they were one hundred conditions; for Allah decisions are the right ones and His conditions are the strong ones firmer and the Wala will be for the manumitter. | The Chapter on Payments And Buying Of Slaves in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on If somebody imposes conditions in selling against the Islamic Law in Sahih AlBukhari |

He the Holy Prophet said: I take it for an uqiya of gold and you reach Medina on it. As I reached Medina; Allah Messenger ﷺ said to Bilal: Give him an uqiya of gold and make some extra payment too. He Jabir said: He gave me an uqiya of gold and made an addition of a qirat. Help me in making this payment. I said to her: If your family so desires; I am prepared to make them the full payment in one instalment; and thus secure freedom for you; but the right of inheritance will vest in me; if I do so. She Barira made a mention of that to her family; but they refused except on the condition that the right of inheritance would vest in them. She came to me and made mention of if She Aisha said: I scolded her. She Barira said: By Allah; it is not possible they will never agree to it. And as she was saying it; Allah messenger ﷺ heard; and he asked me; I informed him and he said: Buy her and emancipate her; and let the right of inherit- ance vest in them; for they cannot claim it rightfully since the right of inherritance vests with one who emancipates the slave; therefore; these people have no right to lay such false claims. And I did so. She Aisha said: Then Allah Messenger ﷺ delivered a sermon in the evening. He extolled Allah and praised Him with what He deserves; and then said afterwards;: What has happened to the people that they lay down conditions which are not found in the Book of Allah? And the condition which is not found in the Book of Allah is invalid; even if its number is one hundred. The Book of Allah is more true than any other deed and the condition laid down by Allah is more binding than any other condition. What has happened to the people among you that someone among you says: Emancipate so and so; but the right of inheritance vests in me? Verily; the right of inheritance vests in one who emancipates. | The Chapter on Inheritance And Wealth in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 3 in Sahih Muslim

Allah Messenger ﷺ came to me and said to me: Jabir; I said: Yes. Allah Messenger; here I am at your beck and call He said: What is the matter with you? I said: My camel has delayed me and is tired; so I have lagged behind. He the Holy Prophet got down and goaded it with a crooked stick and then said: Mount it. So I mounted and to my great surprise I saw it moving so quickly that I had to restrain it from going ahead of Allah Messenger ﷺ. He the Holy Prophet in the course of journey said to me : Have you married? I said: Yes. He again said: Is it with a virgin or one previously married? I said. With one previously married; whereupon he again said: Why not with a young girl with whom you could sport and she could have sported with you? I said: I have sisters; so I preferred to marry a woman who could keep them together as one family. who could comb them and look after them. He said: You are about to go to your house ; and there you have the enjoyment of the wife company. He again said: Do you want to sell your camel? I said: Yes. So he bought it from me for one uqiya of silver ; Then Allah Messenger ﷺ arrived at Medina and I arrived in the evening. Bilal weighed that out for me lowering the scale of balance. So I proceeded and as I turned my back he said: Call for me; Jabir. So I was called back; and I said to myself : He would return me the camel; and nothing was more displeasing to me than this that after having received the price I should also get the camel. He said: I did cast a glance at her; whereupon he said: For what dower did you marry her? He said: For four uqiyas. Thereupon Allah Apostle ﷺ said: For four uqiyas; it seems as if you dig out silver from the side of this mountain and that is why you are prepared to pay such a large amount of dower. We have nothing which we should give you. There is a possibility that we may send you to an expedition where you may get booty. So he sent that man in the expedition which was despatched to Banu Abs. | The Chapter on Contracts And Disputes And The Law in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 12 in Sahih Muslim

MuwataMalik-017-001-34387 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd Ibn Aslam from Ata Ibn Yasar that a man of the Banu Asad said; My family and I dismounted to rest at Baqi. My family said to me; Go to the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and ask him for something that we can eat; and they began to mention their need. I went to the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and found that a man was asking for something; and the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; was saying; I do not have anything to give you. The man turned away from him in anger; saying; By my life! You give to whomever you wish. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; He is angry with me because I do not have anything to give him. Whoever asks of you while he has an uqiya or its like; has asked with importunity. The man continued; I said to myself about a camel that we had; It is better than an uqiya. Malik explained that an uqiya was forty dirhams. So I returned and did not ask him for anything; and the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; sent me barley and raisins after that. He gave us from his share until Allah; the Mighty; the Majestic gave us relief. | The Chapter on Granting Peace in HodHood Indexing, The Book of The Two Ids in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-34829 | Malik related to me from Hisham Ibn Urwa from his father that Aisha; the wife of the Prophet; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Barira came to me and said; I have written myself as mukatab for my people for nine uqiyas; one uqiya per year; so help me. Aisha said; If your people agree that I pay it all to them for you; and that if I pay it; your wala is mine; then I will do it. Barira went to her masters and told them that and they didnt agree. She came back from her masters while the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; was sitting. She said to Aisha; I offered that to them and they refused me unless they had the wala. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; heard that and asked her about it Aisha told him and the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Take her and stipulate that the wala is yours; for the wala is for the one who sets free. So Aisha did that and then the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; stood up in front of the people; and praised Allah and gave thanks to Him. Then he said; What is wrong with the people who make conditions which are not in the Book of Allah? Any condition which is not in the Book of Allah is invalid even if it is a hundred conditions. The decree of Allah is truer and the conditions of Allah are firmer; and the wala only belongs to the one who sets free. | The Chapter on Payments And Buying Of Slaves in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Greetings in Muwata Malik |
