So I and Utham Bin Affan went to the Prophet ﷺ and we said: Messenger of Allah; these are Banu Hashim whose superiority we do not deny because if the position in which Allah has placed you in relation to them ; but tell us about Banu Abd AlMuttalib to whom you have given something while omitting us though our relationship is the same as theirs. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: There is no distinction between us and Banu Abd AlMuttalib in pre-Islamic days and in Islam.
