SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3058 | Narrated Abu Qatada: Once; while I was sitting with the companions of the Prophet ﷺ at a station on the road to Mecca and Allah Messenger ﷺ was stationing ahead of us and all the people were assuming Ihram while I was not. My companion; saw an onager while I was busy Mending my shoes. They did not Inform me of the onager but they wished that I would see it Suddenly I looked and saw the onager Then I headed towards my horse; saddled it and rode; but I forgot to take the lash and the spear. So I said to them my companions ; Give me the lash and the spear. But they said; No; by Allah we will not help you in any way to hunt it I got angry; dismounted; took it the spear and the lash ; rode the horse chased the onager and wounded it Then I brought it when it had dyed. My companions started eating of its cooked meat; but they suspected that it might be unlawful to eat of its meat while they were in a state of Ihram Then I proceeded further and I kept one of its forelegs with me. When we met Allah Apostle we asked him about that. He said; Have you some of its meat with you? I gave him that foreleg and he ate the meat till he stripped the bone of its flesh although he was in a state of Ihram. | The Chapter on Horses And Ihram in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on To eat the flesh of a foreleg by stripping the bone of its meat with the teeth in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4757 | Narrated Abdullah Bin Abu Qatada AlAslami: That his father said; One day I was sitting with some of the Prophet companions on the way to Mecca. Allah Messenger ﷺ was ahead of us. All of my companions were in the state of Ihram while I was a non-Muhrim. They saw an onager while I was busy repairing my shoes; so they did not tell me about it but they wished I had seen it. By chance I looked up and saw it. So; I turned to the horse; saddled it and rode on it; forgetting to take the spear and the whip. I asked them if they could hand over to me the whip and the spear but they said; No; by Allah; we shall not help you in that in any way. I became angry and got down from the horse; picked up both the things and rode the horse again. I attacked the onager and slaughtered it; and brought it after it had been dead. They took it cooked some of it and started eating it; but they doubted whether it was allowed for them to eat it or not; as they were in the state of Ihram. So; we proceeded and I hid with me one of its fore-legs. When we met Allah Messenger ﷺ and asked him about the case; he asked; Do you have a portion of it with you? I replied in the affirmative and gave him that fleshy foreleg which he ate completely while he was in the state of Ihram. | The Chapter on Horses And Ihram in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Whoever asks his friends to grant him a gift in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6353 | Narrated Urwa: AlZubair said; I met Ubaida Bin Saeed Bin AlAs on the day of the battle of Badr and he was covered with armor; so much that only his eyes were visible. He was surnamed Abu Dhat AlKarish. He said proudly ; I am Abu AlKarish. I attacked him with the spear and pierced his eye and he died. I put my foot over his body to pull that spear out; but even then I had to use a great force to take it out as its both ends were bent. Urwa said; Later on Allah Messenger ﷺ asked AlZubair for the spear and he gave it to him. When Allah Messenger ﷺ died; AlZubair took it back. After that Abu Bakr demanded it and he gave it to him; and when Abu Bakr died; AlZubair took it back. Umar then demanded it from him and he gave it to him. When Umar died; AlZubair took it back; and then Uthman demanded it from him and he gave it to him. When Uthman was martyred; the spear remained with Ali offspring. Then Abdullah Bin AlZubair demanded it back; and it remained with him till he was martyred. | The Chapter on Gifts And Child Birth in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Military Expeditions led by the Prophet AlMaghaazi in Sahih AlBukhari

I saw the people taking the utilized water impatiently and whoever got some of it rubbed it on his body and those who could not get any took the moisture from the others hands. Then I saw Bilal carrying a short spear or stick which he planted in the ground. The Prophet came out tucking up his red cloak; and led the people in prayer and offered two rakat facing the Kaba taking a short spear or stick as a Sutra for his prayer. I saw the people and animals passing in front of him beyond the stick. | The Chapter on Ablution In Basic Instinct in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on It is permissible to offer Salat prayer in a red garment in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihMuslim-017-001-20364 | Abu AlSaib; the freed slaved of Hisham Bin Zuhra; said that he visited Abu Saeed Khudri in his house; and he further said: I found him saying his prayer; so I sat down waiting for him to finish his prayer when I heard a stir in the bundles of wood lying in a comer of the house. I looked towards it and found a snake. I jumped up in order to kill it; but he Abu Saeed Khudri made a gesture that I should sit down. So I sat down and as he finished the prayer he pointed to a room in the house and said: Do you see this room? I said: Yes. He said: There was a young man amongst us who had been newly wedded. We went with Allah Messenger ﷺ to participate in the Battle of Trench when a young man in the midday used to seek permission from Allah Messenger ﷺ to return to his family. One day he sought permission from him and Allah Messenger ﷺ after granting him the permission said to him: Carry your weapons with you for I fear the tribe of Quraidha may harm you. The man carried the weapons and then came back and found his wife standing between the two doors. He bent towards her smitten by jealousy and made a dash towards her with a spear in order to stab her. She said: Keep your spear away and enter the house until you see that which has made me come out. He entered and found a big snake coiled on the bedding. He darted with the spear and pierced it and then went out having fixed it in the house; but the snake quivered and attacked him and no one knew which of them died first; the snake or the young man. We came to Allah Apostle ﷺ and made a mention to him and said: Supplicate to Allah that that man may be brought back to life. Thereupon he said: Ask forgiveness for your companion and then said: There are in Medina jinns who have accepted Islam; so when you see any one of them; pronounce a warning to it for three days; and if they appear before you after that; then kill it for that is a devil. | The Chapter on Premises in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 37 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-22103 | Zaid Bin Wahb Juhani reported and he was among the squadron which was under the command of Ali Allah be pleased with him and which set out to curb the activities of the Khawarij. Ali Allah be pleased with him said: O people; I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: There would arise from my Ummah a people who would recite the Quran; and your recital would seem insignificant as compared with their recital; your prayer as compared with their prayer; and your fast; as compared with their fast. They would recite the Quran thinking that it supports them; whereas it is an evidence against them. Their prayer does not get beyond their collar bone; they would swerve through Islam just as the arrow passes through the prey. If the squadron which is to encounter them were to know what great boon has been assured to them by their Messenger ﷺ they would completely rely upon this deed alone and cease to do other good deeds ; and their that of the Khawarij distinctive mark is that there would be among them a person whose wrist would be without the arm; and the end of his wrist would be fleshy like the nipple of the breast on which there would be white hair. You would be marching towards Muawiya and the people of Syria and you would leave them behind among your children and your property to do harm. By Allah; I believe that these are the people against whom you have been commanded to fight and get reward for they have shed forbidden blood; and raided the animals of the people. So go forth in the name of Allah to fight against them. Salama Bin Kuhail mentioned that Zaid Bin Wahb made me alight at every stage; till we crossed a bridge. Abdullah Bin Wahb AlRasibi was at the head of the Khawarij when we encountered them. He Abdullah said to his army: Throw the spears and draw out your swords from their sheaths; for I fear that they would attack you as they attacked you on the day of Harura. They went back and threw their spears and drew out their swords; and people fought against them with spears and they were killed one after another. Only two persons were killed among the people among the army led by Ali on that day. Ali Allah be pleased with him said: Find out from among them the dead bodies of the Khawarij the maimed. They searched but did not find him. Ali Allah be pleased with him then himself stood up and walked till he came to the people who had been killed one after another. He Ali said: Search them to the last; and then Ali companions found him the dead body of the maimed near the earth. He Ali then pronounced Allahu Akbar Allah is the Greatest and then said; Allah told the Truth and His Messenger ﷺ conveyed it. Then there stood before him Abida Salmani who said: Commander of the Believers; by Allah; besides Whom there is no god but He; tell me whether you heard this hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: Yes; by Allah; besides Whom there is no god but He. He asked him to take an oath thrice and he took the oath. | The Chapter on Horses Islam And Alquran in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 48 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-22769 | Abu Qatada reported: We went with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ till we reached AlQaha a place three stages away from Medina. Some of us were in the state of Ihram and some of us were not. I saw my companions looking towards something; and as I saw I found It to be a wild ass. I saddled my horse and took up my spear and then mounted upon the horse and my whip; fell down. I said to my companions as they were in the state of Ihram to pick up the whip for me but they said: By Allah; we cannot help you in any such thing i. e. hunting. So i dismounted the horse and picked it whip up and mounted again and caught the wild ass after chasing it. It was behind a hillock and I attacked it with my spear and killed it. Then I brought it to my companions. Some of them said: Eat it; while others said: Do not eat it. The Apostle of Allah ﷺ was in front of us. I moved my horse and came to him and asked him ; whereupon he said: It is permissible; so eat it. | The Chapter on Horses And Ihram in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 8 in Sahih Muslim

MuwataMalik-017-001-34577 | Malik related to me from Safiy; the mawla of Ibn Aflah that Abus-Saib; the mawla of Hisham Ibn Zuhra said; I went to Abu Said AlKhudri and found him praying. I sat to wait for him until he finished the prayer. I heard a movement under a bed in his room; and it was a snake. I stood up to kill it; and Abu Said gestured to me to sit. When he was finished he pointed to a room in the house and said; Do you see this room? I said; Yes. He said; There was a young boy in it who had just got married. He went out with the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; to AlKhandaq; the ditch which the muslims dug in the 5th year of the Hijra to defend Madina against the Quraysh and their allies. When he was there; the youth came and asked his permission; saying; Messenger of Allah. Give me permission to return to my family. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; gave him permission and said; Take your weapons with you; for I fear the Banu Quraydha tribe. They may harm you. The youth went to his family and found his wife standing between the two doors. He lifted his spear to stab her as jealousy had been aroused in him. She said; Dont be hasty until you go in and see what is in your house. He entered and found a snake coiled up on his bed. He transfixed it with his spear and then went out with it and pitched it into the house. The snake stirred on the end of the spear and the youth fell dead. No one knew which of them died first; the snake or the youth. That was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and he said; There are jinn in Madina who have become muslim. When you see one of them; call out to it for three days. If it appears after that; then kill it; for it is a shaytan. | The Chapter on Premises in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Pre emption in Property in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35168 | Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that Said Ibn AlMusayab disapproved of killing domestic animals that had become wild by any means that game was slain such as arrows and the like. Malik said; I do not see any harm in eating game which is pierced by a throwing stick in a vital organ. Allah; the Blessed; the Exalted! said; Oh you who believe! Allah will surely try you with something of the game that your hands and spears attain. Surat 5 ayat 97. Yahya said; Any game that man obtains by his hand or by his spear or by any weapon which pierces it and reaches a vital organ; is acceptable as Allah; the Exalted; has said. | The Chapter on Games And Hunting And The State Of Ihram in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Hudud in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35875 | Yahya related to me from Malik from Abdullah Ibn Dinar that he used to see Abdullah Ibn Umar sacrificing animals two at a time during hajj and one at a time during umra. He said; I saw him sacrifice an animal during an umra outside the house of Khalid Ibn Usayd; where he was staying. I saw him stick his spear in the throat of the animal he was going to sacrifice until the spear came out under its shoulder. | The Chapter on The Kabbah In Alahjj in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Business Transactions in Muwata Malik |
