SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-27037 +Narrated Umm Salamah; Ummul Muminin: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never went out of my house without raising his eye to the sky and saying: O Allah! I seek refuge in Thee lest I stray or be led astray; or slip or made to slip; or cause injustice; or suffer injustice; or do wrong; or have wrong done to me.  +

Salamah version has: It is Allah mercy; it sometimes brings blessing and sometimes brings punishment. So when you see it; do not revile it; but ask Allah for some of its good; and seek refuge in Allah from its evil.  +
SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-27041 +Aisha; wife of the prophet ﷺ ; said : I never saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ laugh fully to such an extent that I could see his uvula. He would only smile; and when he saw clouds or wind; his face showed signs of fear. I asked him: Messenger of Allah! When the people see the cloud; they rejoice; hoping for that it may contain rain; and I notice that when you see it; the signs of abomination on your face. He replied: Aishah! What gives me safety from the fact that it might contain punishment? A people were punished by the wind. When those people saw the punishment; they said: this is a cloud which would give us rain.  +
SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-27042 +Narrated Aisha; Ummul Muminin: When the Prophet ﷺ saw a cloud formation in the sky; he left work; even if he were at prayer; and then would say: O Allah! I seek refuge in Thee from its evil. If it rained; he would say: O Allah! send a beneficial downpour.  +

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out and removed his garment till some of the rain fell on him. We asked him; apostle of Allah! Why did you do this? He replied: Because it has recently been with its Lord.  +

Ibn Marwan version has: For Allah has creatures. He then mentioned the barking of dogs and braying of asses in a similar manner. He added in his version: Ibn AlHad said: Shurahbil Ibn AlHajib told me on the authority of Jabir Ibn Abdullah from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ similar to it.  +

Sahl and Sulaiman said: if anyone calls you; respond to him. The Agreed version goes; if you do not afford to compensate him; pray Allah for him until you know that you have compensated him.  +
SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-27053 +Narrated Abdullah Ibn Abbas: Abu Zumayl said: I asked Ibn Abbas; saying: What is that I find in my breast? He asked: What is it? I replied: I swear by Allah; I cannot speak about it. He asked me: Is it something doubtful? and he laughed. He then said: No one could escape that; until Allah; the exalted; revealed: If thou went in doubt as to what we have revealed unto thee; and ask those who have been reading the Book from before thee. He said: If you find something in your heart; say: He is the first and the Last; the Evident and the Immanent; and He has full knowledge of all things.  +

SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-27056 +Said Bin Malik said: My ears heard it end my heart remembered it from Muhammad ﷺ who said: if a man claims to be the son of a man who is not his father; paradise will be forbidden for him. He said: I then met Abu Bakrah and mentioned it to him. He said: my ears heard it and my heart remembered it from Muhammad ﷺ.Asim said : I said : Abu Uthman! Two men testified before you. Who are they? He said : One of them is the one who is first to shoot arrow in the path of Allah or in the path of Islam; that is to say : Sad Bin Malik. The other is the one came from AlTaif with ten and some men on foot. He then mentioned his excellence.Abu Dawud said : When AlNufaili mentioned this tradition; he said : I swear by Allah; this is sweater with me than honey; that is no say; his way transmission.Abu Ali said : I heard Abu Dawud say : I heard Ahmad say : The people of Kufah have no light in their traditions. I did not see them like the people of Basrah. They learnt it from Shubah.  +
SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-27057 +Abu Huraira reported the Prophet ﷺ as saying : if a man becomes the client of any people without the permission of his patrons i.e. those who have freed him ; on him will be the curse of Allah; of angels and of all people; no obligatory or supererogatory worship will be accepted from him.  +

One is only a pious believer or a miserable sinner. You are sons of Adam; and Adam came from dust. Let the people cease to boast about their ancestors. They are merely fuel in Jahannam; or they will certainly be of less account with Allah than the beetle which rolls dung with its nose.  +
