Bilal 1 saw him i.e. Umaiya and went to a gathering of Ansar and said; Here is Umaiya Bin Khalaf! Woe to me if he escapes! So; a group of Ansar went out with Bilal to follow us Abdulrahman and Umaiya. Being afraid that they would catch us; I left Umaiya son for them to keep them busy but the Ansar killed the son and insisted on following us. Umaiya was a fat man; and when they approached us; I told him to kneel down; and he knelt; and I laid myself on him to protect him; but the Ansar killed him by passing their swords underneath me; and one of them injured my foot with his sword. By Him in Whose Hands my life is; if I should see him; then my body will not leave his body till either of us meet his fate. I was astonished at that talk. Then the other boy called my attention saying the same as the other had said. After a while I saw Abu Jahl walking amongst the people. I said to the boys ; Look! This is the man you asked me about. So; both of them attacked him with their swords and struck him to death and returned to Allah Apostle to inform him of that. Allah Messenger ﷺ asked; Which of you has killed him? Each of them said; I Have killed him. Allah Messenger ﷺ asked; Have you cleaned your swords? They said; No. He then looked at their swords and said; No doubt; you both have killed him and the spoils of the deceased will be given to Muadh Bin Amr Bin AlJamuh. Amr; a sub-narrator said: The intervening statement I think; was said by the sub-narrator Zuhair i.e. not by Abdulrahman. Then Abdullah offered two rakat of Isha prayer. When the day dawned; Abdullah said; The Prophet never offered any prayer at this hour except this prayer at this time and at this place and on this day. Abdullah added; These two prayers are shifted from their actual times - the Maghrib prayer is offered when the people reached AlMuzdalifa and the Fajr morning prayer at the early dawn. Abdullah then said; Allah Messenger ﷺ said; These two prayers have been shifted from their stated times at this place only at AlMuzdalifa ; first: The Maghrib and the Isha. So the people should not arrive at AlMuzdalifa till the time of the Isha prayer has become due. The second prayer is the morning prayer which is offered at this hour. Then Abdullah stayed there till it became a bit brighter. He then said; If the chief of the believers hastened onwards to Mina just now; then he had indeed followed the Sunna. I do not know which proceeded the other; his Abdullahs statement or the departure of Uthman. Abdullah was reciting Talbiya till he threw pebbles at the Jamrat AlAqaba on the Day Of AlNahr slaughtering that is the 10th of Dhu AlHijja.ughtering that is the 10th of Dhu AlHijja. +

When Umar came to power; Khalid Ibn AlWalid wrote to him: The people have become addicted to drinking wine and they look down upon the prescribed punishment and its penalty. He said: They are with you; ask them. The immigrants who embraced Islam in the beginning were with him. He asked them and they agreed on the fact that a drunkard should be given eighty lashes. Ali said: When a man drinks wine; he tells lies.
