    Narrated Abu Sahlah AlSaib Ibn Khallad: A man led the people in prayer. He spat towards qiblah while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was looking at him. The Messenger of Allah said to the people when he finished his prayer: He should not lead you in prayer henceforth. Thenceforth he intended to lead them in prayer; but they forbade him and informed him of the prohibition of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He mentioned it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said to him: Yes. The narrator said: I think he the Prophet said: You did harm to Allah and His Apostle.

    Narrated Abu Said AlKhudri : Some of the Companions of Prophet ﷺ went on a journey. They encamped with a clan of the Arabs and sought hospitality from them; but they refused to provide them with any hospitality. The chief of the clan was stung by a scorpion or bitten by a snake. They gave him all sorts of treatment; but nothing gave him relied. One of them said: Would that you had gone to those people who encamped with you ; some of them might have something which could give you relief to your companion. So they went and one of them said: Our chief has been stung by a scorpion or bitten by a snake. We administered all sorts of medicine but nothing gave him relief. Has any of you anything; i.e. charm; which gives healing to our companion. One of those people said: I shall apply charm; we sought hospitality from you; but you refused to entertain us. I am not going to apply charm until you give me some wages. So they offered them a number of sheep. He then came to and recited Faithat AlKitab and spat until he was cured as if he were set free from a bond. Thereafter they made payment of the wages as agreed by them. They said: Apportion the wages. The man who applied the charm said: Do not do until we come to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and consult him. So they came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ next morning and mentioned it to him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: From where did you learn that it was a charm ? You have done right. Give me a share along with you.

Abu Saeed said: Rain fell that night; the Masjid that was thatched building dripped; and my eyes saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with the traces of water and mud; on his forehead on the morning following the twenty-first night.

On that Allah Messenger ﷺ said; By Him in Whose Hand my life is; this Surah is equal to one-third of the Quran!

He asked; Do you lend them so that their milk may be utilized by others? The bedouin said; Yes. The Prophet ﷺ asked; Do you milk them on the day off watering them? He replied; Yes.     Narrated Abu Said: A group of the companions of Allah Messenger ﷺ proceeded on a journey till they dismounted near one of the Arab tribes and requested them to entertain them as their guests; but they the tribe people refused to entertain them. Then the chief of that tribe was bitten by a snake or stung by a scorpion and he was given all sorts of treatment; but all in vain. Some of them said; Will you go to the group those travelers who have dismounted near you and see if one of them has something useful? They came to them and said; O the group! Our leader has been bitten by a snake or stung by a scorpion and we have treated him with everything but nothing benefited him Has anyone of you anything useful? One of them replied; Yes; by Allah; I know how to treat with a Ruqya. But. by Allah; we wanted you to receive us as your guests but you refused. I will not treat your patient with a Ruqya till you fix for us something as wages. Consequently they agreed to give those travellers a flock of sheep. The man went with them the people of the tribe and started spitting on the bite and reciting Surat AlFatiha till the patient was healed and started walking as if he had not been sick. When the tribe people paid them their wages they had agreed upon; some of them the Prophet companions said; Distribute the sheep. But the one who treated with the Ruqya said; Do not do that till we go to Allah Apostle and mention to him what has happened; and see what he will order us. So they came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and mentioned the story to him and he said; How do you know that Surat AlFatiha is a Ruqya? You have done the right thing. Divide what you have got and assign for me a share with you.

    Narrated Abu Said: Ali sent a piece of gold to the Prophet ﷺ who distributed it among four persons: AlAqra Bin HAbis AlHanzali from the tribe of Mujashi; Uyaina Bin Badr AlFazari; Zaid AlTai who belonged to the tribe of Bani Nahban; and Alqama Bin Ulatha AlAmir who belonged to the tribe of Bani Kilab. So the Quraish and the Ansar became angry and said; He i.e. the Prophet; gives the chief of Najd and does not give us. The Prophet ﷺ said; I give them so as to attract their hearts to Islam. Then a man with sunken eyes; prominent checks; a raised forehead; a thick beard and a shaven head; came in front of the Prophet ﷺ and said; Be afraid of Allah; O Muhammad! The Prophet ﷺ said Who would obey Allah if I disobeyed Him? Is it fair that Allah has trusted all the people of the earth to me while; you do not trust me? Somebody who; I think was Khalid Bin AlWalid; requested the Prophet ﷺ to let him chop that man head off; but he prevented him. When the man left; the Prophet ﷺ said; Among the off-spring of this man will be some who will recite the Quran but the Quran will not reach beyond their throats i.e. they will recite like parrots and will not understand it nor act on it ; and they will renegade from the religion as an arrow goes through the game body. They will kill the Muslims but will not disturb the idolaters. If I should live up to their time I will kill them as the people of Ad were killed i.e. I will kill all of them.

    Narrated Abu Said: Allah Messenger ﷺ forbade the selling by Munabadha; i.e. to sell one garment by casting it to the buyer not allowing him to examine or see it. Similarly he forbade the selling by Mulamasa. Mulamasa is to buy a garment; for example; by merely touching it; not looking at it.

    Narrated Abu Said: Once a bedouin came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked him about the migration. The Prophet ﷺ said; Mercy of Allah be on you! The migration is a quite difficult matter. The Prophet said; Do you let others benefit by their milk gratis? He replied in the affirmative. Then the Prophet asked; Do you milk them on their watering days and give their milk to the poor and needy? He replied in the affirmative. The Prophet; said; Go on doing like this from beyond the seas; and there is no doubt that Allah will not overlook any of your good deeds.

    Narrated Abu Said: One day Allah Messenger ﷺ narrated to us a long narration about AlDajjal and among the things he narrated to us; was: AlDajjal will come; and he will be forbidden to enter the mountain passes of Medina. He will encamp in one of the salt areas neighboring Medina and there will appear to him a man who will be the best or one of the best of the people. He will say I testify that you are AlDajjal whose story Allah Messenger ﷺ has told us. AlDajjal will say to his audience ; Look; if I kill this man and then give him life; will you have any doubt about my claim? They will reply; No; Then AlDajjal will kill that man and then will make him alive. The man will say; By Allah; now I recognize you more than ever! AlDajjal will then try to kill him again but he will not be given the power to do so.

    Narrated Abu Said: Some of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ went on a journey till they reached some of the Arab tribes at night. They asked the latter to treat them as their guests but they refused. The chief of that tribe was then bitten by a snake or stung by a scorpion and they tried their best to cure him but in vain. Some of them said to the others ; Nothing has benefited him; will you go to the people who resided here at night; it may be that some of them might possess something as treatment ; They went to the group of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ and said; Our chief has been bitten by a snake or stung by a scorpion and we have tried everything but he has not benefited. Have you got anything useful ? One of them replied; Yes; by Allah! I can recite a Ruqya; but as you have refused to accept us as your guests; I will not recite the Ruqya for you unless you fix for us some wages for it. They agrees to pay them a flock of sheep. One of them then went and recited Surat AlFatiha : All the praises are for the Lord of the Worlds and puffed over the chief who became all right as if he was released from a chain; and got up and started walking; showing no signs of sickness. They paid them what they agreed to pay. Some of them i.e. the companions then suggested to divide their earnings among themselves; but the one who performed the recitation said; Do not divide them till we go to the Prophet ﷺ and narrate the whole story to him; and wait for his order. So; they went to Allah Messenger ﷺ and narrated the story. Allah Messenger ﷺ asked; How did you come to know that Surat AlFatiha was recited as Ruqya? Then he added; You have done the right thing. Divide what you have earned and assign a share for me as well. The Prophet ﷺ smiled thereupon.

    Narrated Abu Said: Some people from the Ansar asked Allah Messenger ﷺ to give them something and he gave to everyone of them; who asked him; until all that he had was finished. When everything was finished and he had spent all that was in his hand; he said to them; Know that if I have any wealth; I will not withhold it from you to keep for somebody else ; And know that he who refrains from begging others or doing prohibited deeds ; Allah will make him contented and not in need of others; and he who remains patient; Allah will bestow patience upon him; and he who is satisfied with what he has; Allah will make him self-sufficient. And there is no gift better and vast you may be given than patience.

So he took a firm promise from his children to follow his instructions. And by Allah they his sons did accordingly fulfilled their promise. Then Allah said; Be and behold! That man was standing there! Allah then said. O my slave! What made you do what you did? That man said; Fear of You. So Allah forgave him.

    Narrated Abu Said: The Prophet ﷺ mentioned a man from the people of the past or those who preceded you. The Prophet ﷺ said a sentence meaning: Allah had given him wealth and children. When his death approached; he said to his sons; What kind of father have I been to you? They replied; You have been a good father. He told them that he had not presented any good deed before Allah; and if Allah should get hold of him He would punish him. So look! he added; When I die; burn me; and when I turn into coal; crush me; and when there comes a windy day; scatter my ashes in the wind. The Prophet ﷺ added; Then by Allah; he took a firm promise from his children to do so; and they did so. They burnt him after his death and threw his ashes on a windy day. Then Allah commanded to his ashes. Be; and behold! He became a man standing! Allah said; O My slave! What made you do what you did? He replied; For fear of You. Nothing saved him then but Allah Mercy So Allah forgave him.

  • Narrated Abu Said: The Prophet ﷺ said; All
    Narrated Abu Said: The Prophet ﷺ said; Allah will say; O Adam!. Adam will reply; Labbaik and Sadaik I respond to Your Calls; I am obedient to Your orders ; wal Khair fi Yadaik and all the good is in Your Hands ! Then Allah will say to Adam ; Bring out the people of the Fire. Adam will say; What how many are the people of the Fire? Allah will say; Out of every thousand take out nine hundred and ninety-nine persons. At that time children will become hoary-headed and every pregnant female will drop her load have an abortion and you will see the people as if they were drunk; yet not drunk; But Allah punishment will be very severe. That news distressed the companions of the Prophet ﷺ too much; and they said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Who amongst us will be that man the lucky one out of one-thousand who will be saved from the Fire ? He said; Have the good news that one-thousand will be from Gog and Magog; and the one to be saved will be from you. The Prophet ﷺ added; By Him in Whose Hand my soul is; I Hope that you Muslims will be one third of the people of Paradise. On that; we glorified and praised Allah and said; Allahu Akbar. The Prophet ﷺ then said; By Him in Whose Hand my soul is; I hope that you will be one half of the people of Paradise; as your Muslims example in comparison to the other people non-Muslims ; is like that of a white hair on the skin of a black ox; or a round hairless spot on the foreleg of a donkey.

  • Narrated Abu Said: The Prophet ﷺ said; You
    Narrated Abu Said: The Prophet ﷺ said; You will follow the wrong ways; of your predecessors so completely and literally that if they should go into the hole of a mastigure; you too will go there. We said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Do you mean the Jews and the Christians? He replied; Whom else? Meaning; of course; the Jews and the Christians.

  • Narrated Abu Said: The Prophet ﷺ saw sputum on the wall of the Masjid in the direction of the Qibla and scraped it off with gravel. Then he forbade Spitting in front or on the right; but allowed it on one left or under one left foot.  +
