    Narrated Abu Umamah Bin Sahl Hunaif: Abu Umamah Ibn Sahl Ibn Hunayf said that some companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ told that one of their men suffered so much from some illness that he pined away until he was skin and bone i.e. only a skeleton. A slave-girl of someone visited him; and he was cheered by her and had unlawful intercourse with her. When his people came to visit the patient; he told them about it. He said: Ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the legal verdict for me; for I have had unlawful intercourse with a slave-girl who visited me. So they mentioned it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: We have never seen anyone so weak from illness as he is. If we bring him to you; his bones will disintegrate. He is only skin and bone. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded them to take one hundred twigs and strike him once.

    Narrated Abu Umamah Ibn Sahl: We were with Uthman when he was besieged in the house. There was an entrance to the house. He who entered it heard the speech of those who were in the Bilat. Uthman then entered it. He came out to us; looking pale. He said: They are threatening to kill me now. We said: Allah will be sufficient for you against them; Commander of the Faithful! He asked: Why kill me? I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: It is not lawful to kill a man who is a Muslim except for one of the three reasons: Kufr disbelief after accepting Islam; fornication after marriage; or wrongfully killing someone; for which he may be killed. I swear by Allah; I have not committed fornication before or after the coming of Islam; nor did I ever want another religion for me instead of my religion since Allah gave guidance to me; nor have I killed anyone. So for what reason do you want to kill me?Abu Dawud said: Uthman and Abu Bakr Allah be pleased with them abandoned drinking wine in pre-Islamic times.

    Narrated Abu Umayr Ibn Anas: Abu Umayr reported on the authority of his uncle who was from the Ansar the helpers of the Prophet : The Prophet ﷺ was anxious as to how to gather the people for prayer. The people told him: Hoist a flag at the time of prayer; when they see it; they will inform one another. But he the Prophet did not like it. Then someone mentioned to him the horn. Ziyad said: A horn of the Jews. He the Prophet did not like it. He said: This is the matter of the Jews. Then they mentioned to him the bell of the Christians. He said: This is the matter of the Christians. Abdullah Ibn Zayd returned anxiously from there because of the anxiety of the Apostle ﷺ. He was then taught the call to prayer in his dream. Next day he came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him about it. He said: Messenger of Allah; I was between sleep and wakefulness; all of a sudden a newcomer came to me and taught me the call to prayer. Umar Ibn AlKhattab had also seen it in his dream before; but he kept it hidden for twenty days. The Prophet ﷺ said to me Umar : What did prevent you from saying it to me? He said: Abdullah Ibn Zayd had already told you about it before me: hence I was ashamed. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Bilal; stand up; see what Abdullah Ibn Zayd tells you to do ; then do it. Bilal then called them to prayer. Abu Bishr reported on the authority of Abu Umayr: The Ansar thought that if Abdullah Ibn Zayd had not been ill on that day; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would have made him muadhdhin.

Saad Bin Ubada who was one of those who embraced Islam early; said; I see that Allah Messenger ﷺ is giving others superiority above us.     Narrated Abu Usaid: We went out with the Prophet ﷺ to a garden called AlShaut till we reached two walls between which we sat down. The Prophet ﷺ said; Sit here; and went in the garden. The Jauniya a lady from Bani Jaun had been brought and lodged in a house in a date-palm garden in the home of Umaima bint AlNuman Bin Sharahil; and her wet nurse was with her. When the Prophet ﷺ entered upon her; he said to her; Give me yourself in marriage as a gift. She said; Can a princess give herself in marriage to an ordinary man? The Prophet ﷺ raised his hand to pat her so that she might become tranquil. She said; I seek refuge with Allah from you. He said; You have sought refuge with One Who gives refuge. Then the Prophet ﷺ came out to us and said; O Abu Usaid! Give her two white linen dresses to wear and let her go back to her family.

    Narrated Abu Usama from Hisham Bin Urwa from Fatima: Asma bint Abi Bakr said; We broke our fast during the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ on a cloudy day and then the sun appeared. Hisham was asked; Were they ordered to fast in lieu of that day? He replied; It had to be made up for. Mamar said; I heard Hisham saying; I dont know whether they fasted in lieu of that day or not.

This version has: With good fortune. She Umm Ruman entrusted me to them. They washed my head and redressed me. No one came to me suddenly except the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the forenoon. The Prophet ﷺ said; There is no migration after the Conquest of Mecca; but I will take his pledge of allegiance for Islam.

And whosoever has food for four persons he should take one or two from them Abu Bakr took three men and the Prophet ﷺ took ten of them. Abdulrahman added; my father my mother and I were there in the house. The sub-narrator is in doubt whether Abdulrahman also said; My wife and our servant who was common for both my house and Abu Bakr house. Abu Bakr took his supper with the Prophet ﷺ and remained there till the Isha prayer was offered. Abu Bakr went back and stayed with the Prophet ﷺ till the Prophet ﷺ took his meal and then Abu Bakr returned to his house after a long portion of the night had passed. Abu Bakr wife said; What detained you from your guests or guest ? He said; Have you not served them yet? She said; They refused to eat until you come. The food was served for them but they refused. Abdulrahman added; I went away and hid myself being afraid of Abu Bakr and in the meantime he Abu Bakr called me; O Ghunthar a harsh word ! and also called me bad names and abused me and then said to his family ; Eat. No welcome for you. Then the supper was served. Abu Bakr took an oath that he would not eat that food. The narrator added: By Allah; whenever any one of us myself and the guests of Suffa companions took anything from the food; it increased from underneath. We all ate to our fill and the food was more than it was before its serving. Abu Bakr looked at it the food and found it as it was before serving or even more than that. He addressed his wife saying O the sister of Bani Firas! What is this? She said; O the pleasure of my eyes! The food is now three times more than it was before. Abu Bakr ate from it; and said; That oath was from Satan meaning his oath not to eat. Then he again took a morsel mouthful from it and then took the rest of it to the Prophet. So that meal was with the Prophet. There was a treaty between us and some people; and when the period of that treaty had elapsed the Prophet ﷺ divided us into twelve groups the Prophet companions each being headed by a man. Allah knows how many men were under the command of each leader. So all of them 12 groups of men ate of that meal.

    Narrated Abu Uthman: Allah Messenger ﷺ sent Amr Bin AlAs as the commander of the troops of Dhat Alus-Salasil. Amr Bin AlAs said; On my return I came to the Prophet ﷺ and said; Which people do you love most? He replied; Aisha. I said; From amongst the men? He replied; Her father Abu Bakr. I said; Whom do you love next? He replied; Umar. Then he counted the names of many men; and I became silent for fear that he might regard me as the last of them.

The Prophet ﷺ said to Umm Salamah ; Do you know who it was? or a similar question. She said; It was Dihya a handsome person amongst the companions of the Prophet ﷺ. Later on Umm Salamah said; By Allah! I thought he was none but Dihya; till I heard the Prophet ﷺ talking about Gabriel in his sermon. The Sub-narrator asked Abu Uthman; From where have you heard this narration? He replied; From Usama Bin Zaid.

    Narrated Abu Uthman: I heard from Sad; the first man who has thrown an arrow in Allah Cause; and from Abu Bakra who jumped over the wall of the Taif Fort along with a few persons and came to the Prophet. They both said; We heard the Prophet ﷺ saying; If somebody claims to be the son of somebody other than his father knowingly; he will be denied Paradise i.e. he will not enter Paradise. Narrated Mamar from Aasi m from Abu AlAliya or Abu Uthman AlNahdi who said. I heard Saad and Abu Bakra narrating from the Prophet. Aasi m said; I said to him ; Very trustworthy persons have narrated to you. He said; Yes; one of them was the first to throw an arrow in Allah Cause and the other came to the Prophet ﷺ in a group of thirty-three persons from Taif.

    Narrated Abu Uthman: I heard that Ibn Umar used to become angry if someone mentioned that he had migrated before his father Umar ; and he used to say; Umar and I came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and found him having his midday rest; so we returned home. Then Umar sent me again to the Prophet ﷺ and said; Go and see whether he is awake. I went to him and entered his place and gave him the pledge of allegiance. Then I went back to Umar and informed him that the Prophet ﷺ was awake. So we both went; running slowly; and when Umar entered his place; he gave him the pledge of allegiance and thereafter I too gave him the pledge of allegiance.

I heard Abu Huraira saying; Allah Messenger ﷺ distributed dates among his companions and my share was seven dates; one of which was a Hashafa a date which dried on the tree before it was fully ripe.
