When I entered the Masjid of Kufah ; I found there some people of moderate stature; and among them was a man whom you could recognize when you saw him that he was from the people of Hijaz. I asked: Who is he? The people frowned at me and said: Do you not recognize him? This is Hudhayfah Ibn AlYaman; the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Then Hudhayfah said: People used to ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about good; and I used to ask him about evil. Then the people stared hard at him. He said: I know the reason why you dislike it. I then asked: Messenger of Allah; will there be evil as there was before; after this good which Allah has bestowed on us? He replied: Yes. I asked: Wherein does the protection from it lie? He replied: In the sword. I asked: Messenger of Allah; what will then happen? He replied: If Allah has on Earth a caliph who flays your back and takes your property; obey him; otherwise die holding onto the stump of a tree. I asked: What will come next? He replied: Then the Antichrist Dajjal will come forth accompanied by a river and fire.   Narrated Hudhayfah: Thalabah Ibn Zahdam said: We accompanied Saad Ibn AlAs at Tabaristan. He stood and said: Which of you prayed along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in time of danger? Hudhayfah said: I then he led one section in one rakah and the other section in one rakah. They did not pray the second rakah by themselves.Abu Dawud: This tradition has been transmitted by Ubaid Allah Bin Abdullah and Mujahid on the authority of Ibn Abbas from the Prophet ﷺ in like manner. This has also been narrated by Abdullah Bin Shaqiq from Abu Huraira from the Prophet ﷺ. Yazid AlFaqir and Abu Mousa also narrated this tradition from Jabir from the Prophet ﷺ. Some of the narrators said in the version narrated by Yazid AlFaqir that they completed their second rakah. This has also been narrated by Simak AlHanafi on the authority of Ibn Umar from the Prophet ﷺ something similar. Zaid Bin Thabit also narrated from the Prophet ﷺ in like manner. He asked: Who are these people? We replied: Banu Layth. We have come to you to ask you about the tradition of Hudhayfah. He then mentioned the tradition and said: I asked: Messenger of Allah; will there be evil after this good? He replied: There will be trial fitnah and evil. I asked: Messenger of Allah; will there be good after this evil? He replied: Learn the Book of Allah; Hudhayfah; and adhere to its contents. He said it three times. I asked: Messenger of Allah; will there be good after this evil? He replied: An illusory truce and a community with specks in its eye. In the meantime the Messenger of Allah ﷺ peeped us. When he saw the red ochre; he returned. When Zaynab saw this; she realised that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ disapproved of what she had done. She then took and washed her clothes and concealed all redness. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then returned and peeped; and when he did not see anything; he entered.

  Narrated Husain Bin Ali: Ali Bin Abi Talib said: I got a camel as my share of the war booty on the day of the battle of Badr; and Allah Messenger ﷺ gave me another camel. I let both of them kneel at the door of one of the Ansar; intending to carry Idhkhir on them to sell it and use its price for my wedding banquet on marrying Fatima. A goldsmith from Bani Qainqa was with me. Hamza Bin Abd AlMuttalib was in that house drinking wine and a lady singer was reciting: O Hamza! Kill the two fat old she camels and serve them to your guests. So Hamza took his sword and went towards the two camels and cut off their humps and opened their flanks and took a part of their livers. I said to Ibn Shihab; Did he take part of the humps? He replied; He cut off their humps and carried them away. Ali further said; When I saw that dreadful sight; I went to the Prophet ﷺ and told him the news. The Prophet ﷺ came out in the company of Zaid Bin Haritha who was with him then; and I too went with them. He went to Hamza and spoke harshly to him. Hamza looked up and said; Arent you only the slaves of my forefathers? The Prophet ﷺ retreated and went out. This incident happened before the prohibition of drinking.

  Narrated Huzail Bin Shirahbil: Abu Mousa was asked regarding the inheritance of a daughter; a son daughter; and a sister. He said; The daughter will take one-half and the sister will take one-half. If you go to Ibn Masud; he will tell you the same. Ibn Masud was asked and was told of Abu Mousa verdict. Ibn Masud then said; If I give the same verdict; I would stray and would not be of the rightly-guided. The verdict I will give in this case; will be the same as the Prophet ﷺ did; i.e. one-half is for daughter; and one-sixth for the son daughter; i.e. both shares make two-thirds of the total property; and the rest is for the sister. Afterwards we cams to Abu Mousa and informed him of Ibn Masud verdict; whereupon he said; So; do not ask me for verdicts; as long as this learned man is among you.
