He replied that he had seen the Prophet ﷺ doing the same. They approved of this narration as Jarir was one of those who embraced Islam very late.

    Narrated Ibrahim: Once a meal was brought to Abdulrahman Bin Auf and he was fasting. He said; Mustab Bin Umar was martyred and he was better than I and was shrouded in his Burd and when his head was covered with it; his legs became bare; and when his legs were covered his head got uncovered. Hamza was martyred and was better than I. Now the worldly wealth have been bestowed upon us or said a similar thing. No doubt; I fear that the rewards of my deeds might have been given earlier in this world. Then he started weeping and left his food.

Then he asked them;: Who among you can recite Quran as Abdullah recites it? They replied; All of us. He asked; Who among you knows it by heart? They pointed at Alqama. Then he asked Alqama. How did you hear Abdullah Bin Masud reciting Surat AlLail The Night ? Alqama recited: By the male and the female. Abu AlDarda said; I testify that I heard me Prophet reciting it likewise; but these people want me to recite it:- And by Him Who created male and female. but by Allah; I will not follow them.

Hafsa said; to me ; Go to them; and as they i.e. the people are waiting for you; and I am afraid your absence from them will produce division amongst them. So Hafsa did not leave Ibn Umar till we went to them. When the people differed. Muawiya addressed the people saying; If anybody wants to say anything in this matter of the Caliphate; he should show up and not conceal himself; for we are more rightful to be a Caliph than he and his father. On that; Habib Bin Masalama said to Ibn Umar ; Why dont you reply to him i.e. Muawiya ? Abdullah Bin Umar said; I untied my garment that was going round my back and legs while I was sitting and was about to say; He who fought against you and against your father for the sake of Islam; is more rightful to be a Caliph; but I was afraid that my statement might produce differences amongst the people and cause bloodshed; and my statement might be interpreted not as I intended. So I kept quiet remembering what Allah has prepared in the Gardens of Paradise for those who are patient and prefer the Hereafter to this worldly life. Habib said; You did what kept you safe and secure i.e. you were wise in doing so.

    Narrated Ikrima from Ibn Abbas: Allah Messenger ﷺ s said; When a slave of Allah commits illegal sexual intercourse; he is not a believer at the time of committing it; and if he steals; he is not a believer at the time of stealing; and if he drinks an alcoholic drink; when he is not a believer at the time of drinking it; and he is not a believer when he commits a murder; Ikrima said: I asked Ibn Abbas; How is faith taken away from him? He said; Like this; by clasping his hands and then separating them; and added; But if he repents; faith returns to him like this; by clasping his hands again.

    Narrated Ikrima: Ibn Abbas said: Allah Messenger ﷺ delivered a sermon on the Day Of AlNahr; and said; O people! Tell me what is the day today? The people replied; It is the forbidden sacred day. He asked again; What town is this? They replied; It is the forbidden Sacred town. He asked; Which month is this? They replied; It is the forbidden Sacred month. He said; No doubt! Your blood; your properties; and your honor are sacred to one another like the sanctity of this day of yours; in this sacred town Mecca of yours; in this month of yours. The Prophet ﷺ repeated his statement again and again. After that he raised his head and said; O Allah! Havent conveyed Your Message to them. Havent I conveyed Your Message to them? Ibn Abbas added; By Him in Whose Hand my soul is; the following was his will Prophet will to his followers:-It is incumbent upon those who are present to convey this information to those who are absent Beware dont renegade as disbelievers turn into infidels after me; Striking the necks cutting the throats of one another.

You should rather keep quiet; and if they ask you; then preach to them at the time when they are eager to hear what you say. And avoid the use of rhymed prose in invocation for I noticed that Allah Messenger ﷺ and his companions always avoided it.

Aisha said that the lady came ; wearing a green veil and complained to her Aisha of her husband and showed her a green spot on her skin caused by beating. It was the habit of ladies to support each other; so when Allah Messenger ﷺ came; Aisha said; I have not seen any woman suffering as much as the believing women. Look! Her skin is greener than her clothes! When Abdulrahman heard that his wife had gone to the Prophet; he came with his two sons from another wife. She said; By Allah! I have done no wrong to him but he is impotent and is as useless to me as this; holding and showing the fringe of her garment; Abdulrahman said; By Allah; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! She has told a lie! I am very strong and can satisfy her but she is disobedient and wants to go back to Rifaa. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; to her; If that is your intention; then know that it is unlawful for you to remarry Rifaa unless Abdulrahman has had sexual intercourse with you. Then the Prophet ﷺ saw two boys with Abdulrahman and asked him ; Are these your sons? On that Abdulrahman said; Yes. The Prophet ﷺ said; You claim what you claim i.e.. that he is impotent ? But by Allah; these boys resemble him as a crow resembles a crow;

    Narrated Ikrima: Some Zanadiqa atheists were brought to Ali and he burnt them. The news of this event; reached Ibn Abbas who said; If I had been in his place; I would not have burnt them; as Allah Messenger ﷺ forbade it; saying; Do not punish anybody with Allah punishment fire. I would have killed them according to the statement of Allah Messenger ﷺ ; Whoever changed his Islamic religion; then kill him.

    Narrated Ikrimah: Once the people doubted the appearance of the moon of Ramadan; and intended neither to offer the tarawih prayer nor to keep fast. A bedouin came from AlHarrah and testified that he had sighted the moon. He was brought to the Prophet ﷺ. He asked: Do you testify that there is no god but Allah; and that I am the Messenger of Allah? He said: Yes; and he testified that he had sighted the moon.     Narrated Imran Bin Hosain: A woman from Juhainah confessed before the Prophet ﷺ that she had committed adultery; and she said: I am pregnant. So the Prophet ﷺ called for her guardian and said: Be good to her and if she gives birth to her child then tell me. So he did so; and then he ﷺ gave the order that her clothes be bound tightly around her. Then he ordered her to be stoned and she was stoned. Then he performed funeral Prayer for her. So Umar Bin AlKhattab said to him: O Messenger of Allah! You stoned her then you prayed for her?! He said: She has repented a repentance that; if distributed among seventy of the people of AlMadinah; it would have sufficed them. Have you ever seen something more virtuous than her sacrificing herself for the saek of Allah?

His throne was over the water; and He wrote everything in the Book in the Heaven and created the Heavens and the Earth. Then a man shouted; O Ibn Husain! Your camel has gone away! So; I went away and could not see the camel because of the mirage. By Allah; I wished I had left that camel but not that gathering.

    Narrated Imran Bin Hosain: Some people of Bani Tamim came to the Prophet ﷺ and he said to them ; O Bani Tamim! rejoice with glad tidings. They said; You have given us glad tidings; now give us something. On hearing that the color of his face changed then the people of Yemen came to him and he said; O people of Yemen ! Accept the good tidings; as Bani Tamim has refused them. The Yemenites said; We accept them. Then the Prophet ﷺ started taking about the beginning of creation and about Allah Throne. In the mean time a man came saying; O Imran! Your camel has run away! I got up and went away ; but l wish I had not left that place for I missed what Allah Messenger ﷺ had said.

    Narrated Imran Bin Hosain: That they were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey. They travelled the whole night; and when dawn approached; they took a rest and sleep overwhelmed them till the sun rose high in the sky. The first to get up was Abu Bakr. Allah Messenger ﷺ s used not to be awakened from his sleep; but he would wake up by himself. Umar woke up and then Abu Bakr sat by the side of the Prophet head and started saying: Allahu-Akbar raising his voice till the Prophet ﷺ woke up; and after traveling for a while he dismounted and led us in the morning prayer. A man amongst the people failed to join us in the prayer. When the Prophet ﷺ had finished the prayer; he asked the man ; O so-and-so! What prevented you from offering the prayer with us? He replied; I am Junub; Alllah Apostle ordered him to perform Tayammam with clean earth. The man then offered the prayer. Allah Messenger ﷺ ordered me and a few others to go ahead of him. We had become very thirsty. While we were on our way looking for water ; we came across a lady riding an animal ; hanging her legs between two water-skins. We asked her; Where can we get water? She replied; Oh ! There is no water. We asked; how far is your house from the water? She replied; A distance of a day and a night travel. We said; Come on to Allah Messenger ﷺ ; She asked; What is Allah Messenger ﷺ ? So we brought her to Allah Messenger ﷺ against her will; and she told him what she had told us before and added that she was the mother of orphans. So the Prophet ﷺ ordered that her two water-skins be brought and he rubbed the mouths of the water-skins. As we were thirsty; we drank till we quenched our thirst and we were forty men. We also filled all our waterskins and other utensils with water; but we did not water the camels. The waterskin was so full that it was almost about to burst. The Prophet ﷺ then said; Bring what foodstuff you have. So some dates and pieces of bread were collected for the lady; and when she went to her people; she said; I have met either the greatest magician or a prophet as the people claim. So Allah guided the people of that village through that lady. She embraced Islam and they all embraced Islam.
