  Narrated Ruwayfi Ibn Thabit: Shayban AlQatbani reported that Maslamah Ibn Mukhallad made Ruwayfi Ibn Thabit the governor of the lower parts of Egypt. He added: We travelled with him from Kum Sharik to Alqamah or from Alqamah to Kum Sharik the narrator doubts for Alqam. Ruwayfi said: Any one of us would borrow a camel during the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ from the other; on condition that he would give him half the booty; and the other half he would retain himself. Further; one of us received an arrowhead and a feather; and the other an arrow-shaft as a share from the booty. He then reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: You may live for a long time after I am gone; Ruwayfi; so; tell people that if anyone ties his beard or wears round his neck a string to ward off the evil eye; or cleanses himself with animal dung or bone; Muhammad has nothing to do with him.

The Prophet ﷺ said; These women who have been here; roused my wonder; for as soon as they heard your voice; they quickly put on their veils. Umar said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! You have more right to be feared by them than I. Then Umar addressed the women saying; O enemies of yourselves! You fear me more than you do Allah Messenger ﷺ ?   Narrated Saad Bin Hisham: I divorced my wife. I then came to Medina to sell my land that was there so that I could buy arms and fight in battle. I met a group of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ. They said: Six persons of us intended to do so i.e. divorce their wives and purchase weapons ; but the Prophet ﷺ prohibited them. He said: For you in the Messenger of Allah there is an excellent model. I then came to Ibn Abbas and asked him about the witr observed by the Prophet ﷺ. He said: I point to you a person who is most familiar with the witr observed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Go to Aishah. While going to her I asked Hakim Bin Aflah to accompany me. He refused; but I adjured him. He; therefore; went along with me. We sought permission to enter upon Aishah. She said: Who is this ? He said: Hakim Bin Aflah. She asked: Who is with you ? He replied: Saad Bin Hisham. She said: Hisham son of Amir who was killed in the Battle of Uhud. I said: Yes. She said: What a good man Amir was! I said: Mother of faithful; tell me about the character of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She asked: Do you not recite the Quran ? The character of Messenger of Allah ﷺ was the Quran. I asked: Tell me about his vigil and prayer at night. She replied: Do you not recite: O thou folded in garments 73:1. I said: Why not ?When the opening of this Surah was revealed; the Companions stood praying most of the night until their fett swelled; and the concluding verses were not revealed for twelve months from heaven. At last the concluding verses were revealed and the prayer at night became voluntary after it was obligatory. I said: Tell me about the witr of the Prophet ﷺ. She replied: He used to pray eight rakahs; sitting only during the eighth of them. Then he would stand up and pray another rakahs. He would sit only after the eighth and the ninth rakahs. He would utter salutation only after the ninth rakah. He would then pray two rakahs sitting and that made eleven rakahs; O my son. But when he grew old and became fleshy he observed a witr of seven; sitting only in sixth and seventh rakahs; and would utter salutation only after the seventh rakah. He would then pray two rakahs sitting; and that made nine rakahs; O my son. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would not pray through a whole night; or recite the whole Quran in a night or fast a complete month except in Ramadan. When he offered prayer; he would do that regularly. When he was overtaken by sleep at night; he would pray twelve rakahs.The narrator said: I came to Ibn Abbas and narrated all this to him. By Allah; this is really a tradition. Has I been on speaking terms with her; I would have come to her and heard it from her mouth. I said: If I knew that you were not on speaking terms with her; I would have never narrated it to you.

Abdulrahman added; Hamza was martyred and he was better than 1. Then worldly wealth was bestowed upon us and we were given thereof too much. I am very ill as you see; and I am a rich man and have no heir except my only daughter. Shall I give 2/3 of my property in charity? He said; No. I said; Shall I then give one half of it in charity? He said; O Sad! Give 1/3 in charity and even 1/3 is too much. No doubt; it is better to leave your children rich than to leave them poor; reduced to begging from others. And Allah will reward you for whatever you spend with the intention of gaining Allah Pleasure even if it were a mouthful of food you put into your wives mouth. I said; O Allah Apostle! Am I to be left behind in Mecca after my companions have gone? He said; If you should be left behind; you will be upgraded and elevated for every deed you will do with a desire to achieve Allah Pleasure. I hope that you will live long so that some people will benefit by you while others will be harmed. O Allah! Please fulfill the migration of my companions and do not make them turn back on their heels. But we feel sorry for the unlucky Saad Bin Khaulah. Allah Messenger ﷺ lamented his death in Mecca.

  Narrated Saad Bin Sahl AlSaidi: The Prophet ﷺ looked at a man fighting against the pagans and he was one of the most competent persons fighting on behalf of the Muslims. The Prophet ﷺ said; Let him who wants to look at a man from the dwellers of the Hell Fire; look at this man. Another man followed him and kept on following him till he the fighter was injured and; seeking to die quickly; he placed the blade tip of his sword between his breasts and leaned over it till it passed through his shoulders i.e.; committed suicide. The Prophet ﷺ added; A person may do deeds that seem to the people as the deeds of the people of Paradise while in fact; he is from the dwellers of the Hell Fire: and similarly a person may do deeds that seem to the people as the deeds of the people of the Hell Fire while in fact; he is from the dwellers of Paradise. Verily; the results of deeds done; depend upon the last actions.

  Narrated Saad Bin Ubaida: Abu Abdulrahman who was one of the supporters of Uthman said to Abu Talha who was one of the supporters of Ali; I perfectly know what encouraged your leader i.e. Ali to shed blood. I heard him saying: Once the Prophet ﷺ sent me and AlZubair saying; Proceed to such-and-such AlRoudah place where you will find a lady whom Hatib has given a letter. So when we arrived at AlRoudah; we requested the lady to hand over the letter to us. She said; Hatib has not given me any letter. We said to her. Take out the letter or else we will strip off your clothes. So she took it out of her braid. So the Prophet ﷺ sent for Hatib; who came and said; Dont hurry in judging me; for; by Allah; I have not become a disbeliever; and my love to Islam is increasing. The reason for writing this letter was that there is none of your companions but has relatives in Mecca who look after their families and property; while I have nobody there; so I wanted to do them some favor so that they might look after my family and property. The Prophet ﷺ believed him. Umar said; Allow me to chop off his i.e. Hatibs neck as he has done hypocrisy. The Prophet ﷺ said; to Umar ; Who knows; perhaps Allah has looked at the warriors of Badr and said to them ; Do whatever you like; for I have forgiven you. Abdulrahman added; So this is what encouraged him i.e. Ali.

Saad said to Abdulrahman I am the richest of all the Ansar; so I want to divide my property between us ; and I have two wives; so see which of the two you like and tell me; so that I may divorce her; and when she finishes her prescribed period i.e. Idda of divorce; then marry her. He went there and returned with a profit in the form of dried yogurt and butter. He continued going to the market till one day he came; bearing the traces of yellow scent.
