So he came out wearing it as his waist-sheet. A man praised it and said; Will you give it to me? How nice it is! The man said; No. The Prophet said; Go to your house and search for something. The man went and came back to say; By Allah; I could not find anything. The Prophet ﷺ said; Go again and search for something; even if it be an iron ring. He went again and came back saying; No; by Allah; I could not get even an iron ring. The man had only an Izar and had no Rida upper garment. He said; I will give her my Izar as Mahr. On that the Prophet ﷺ said; Your Izar? Amongst the army of the Muslims there was a man who would follow every pagan separated from the army and strike him with his sword. It was said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! None has fought so satisfactorily as so-and-so namely; that brave Muslim. The Prophet said; He is from the dwellers of the Hell-Fire. The people said; Who amongst us will be of the dwellers of Paradise if this man is from the dwellers of the Hell-Fire? Then a man from amongst the people said; I will follow him and accompany him in his fast and slow movements. The brave man got wounded; and wanting to die at once; he put the handle of his sword on the ground and its tip in between his breasts; and then threw himself over it; committing suicide. Then the man who had watched the deceased returned to the Prophet ﷺ and said; I testify that you are Apostle of Allah. The Prophet ﷺ said; What is this? The man told him the whole story. The Prophet ﷺ said; A man may do what may seem to the people as the deeds of the dwellers of Paradise; but he is of the dwellers of the Hell-Fire and a man may do what may seem to the people as the deeds of the dwellers of the Hell-Fire; but he is from the dwellers of Paradise.

Ali said; Should I fight them till they become like us i.e. Muslim ? The Prophet ﷺ said; Go to them patiently and calmly till you enter the land. Then; invite them to Islam; and inform them what is enjoined upon them; for; by Allah; if Allah gives guidance to somebody through you; it is better for you than possessing red camels.

So; she ordered her slave who went and cut the wood from the tamarisk and prepared the pulpit; for the Prophet. When he finished the pulpit; the woman informed the Prophet ﷺ that it had been finished. The Prophet ﷺ asked her to send that pulpit to him; so they brought it. The Prophet ﷺ lifted it and placed it at the place in which you see now.

Ibn Abbas added; So Allah revealed Move not your tongue concerning the Quran to make haste therewith. It is for Us to collect it and to give you O Muhammad the ability to recite it the Quran 75.16-17 which means that Allah will make him the Prophet remember the portion of the Quran which was revealed at that time by heart and recite it. The statement of Allah: And when we have recited it to you O Muhammad through Gabriel then you follow its Quran recital 75.18 means listen to it and be silent. Then it is for Us Allah to make it clear to you 75.19 means Then it is for Allah to make you recite it and its meaning will be clear by itself through your tongue. Afterwards; Allah Messenger ﷺ used to listen to Gabriel whenever he came and after his departure he used to recite it as Gabriel had recited it.

  Narrated Said: Abu Shuraih said; When Amr Bin Saeed was sending the troops to Mecca to fight Abdullah Bin AlZubair I said to him; O chief! Allow me to tell you what the Prophet ﷺ said on the day following the conquests of Mecca. My ears heard and my heart comprehended; and I saw him with my own eyes; when he said it. He glorified and praised Allah and then said; Allah and not the people has made Mecca a sanctuary. So anybody who has belief in Allah and the Last Day i.e. a Muslim should neither shed blood in it nor cut down its trees. If anybody argues that fighting is allowed in Mecca as Allah Messenger ﷺ did fight in Mecca ; tell him that Allah gave permission to His Apostle; but He did not give it to you. The Prophet ﷺ added: Allah allowed me only for a few hours on that day of the conquest and today now its sanctity is the same valid as it was before. So it is incumbent upon those who are present to convey it this information to those who are absent. Abu Shuraih was asked; What did Amr reply? He said Amr said; O Abu Shuraih! I know better than you in this respect. Mecca does not give protection to one who disobeys Allah or runs after committing murder; or theft and takes refuge in Mecca.

He used to offer the morning prayer at a time when after finishing it one could recognize the person sitting beside him and used to recite between 60 to 100 verses in one or both the rakat.

  Narrated Sakhr Ibn AlAyla AlAhmasi: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ raided Thaqif. When Sakhr heard this; he proceeded on his horse along with some horsemen to support the Prophet ﷺ. He found the Prophet of Allah ﷺ had returned and he did not conquer Taif. On that day Sakhr made a covenant with Allah and had His protection that he would not depart from that fortress until they the inhabitants surrendered to the command of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He did not leave them until they had surrendered to the command of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Sakhr then wrote to him: To proceed: Thaqif have surrendered to your command; Messenger of Allah; and I am on my way to them. They have horses with them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then ordered prayers to be offered in congregation. He then prayed for Ahmas ten times: O Allah; send blessings the horses and the men of Ahmas. The people came and Mughirah Ibn Shubah said to him: Prophet of Allah; Sakhr took my paternal aunt while she embraced Islam like other Muslims. He called him and said: Sakhr; when people embrace Islam; they have security of their blood and property. Give back to Mughirah his paternal aunt. So he returned his aunt to him and asked the Prophet of Allah ﷺ : What about Banu Sulaym who have run away for fear of Islam and left that water? He said: Prophet of Allah; allow me and my people to settle there. He said: Yes. So he allowed him to settle there. Banu Sulaym then embraced Islam; and they came to Sakhr. They asked him to return their water to them. But he refused. So they came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: Prophet of Allah; we embraced Islam and came to Sakhr so that he might return our water to us. But he has refused. He the Prophet then came to him and said: When people embrace Islam; they secure their properties and blood. Return to the people their water. He said: Yes; Prophet of Allah. I saw that the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was reddening at that moment; being ashamed of taking back from him the slave-girl and the water.

On the eve of the day of the conquest of Khaibar; Allah Messenger ﷺ said; No doubt I will give the flag or; tomorrow; a man whom Allah and His Apostle love or who loves Allah and His apostle will take the flag. Allah will bestow victory upon him. Suddenly Ali joined us though we were not expecting him. The people said; Here is Ali. So; Allah Messenger ﷺ gave the flag to him and Allah bestowed victory upon him.

A slave of Abdulrahman Bin Auf met me on the way and said; The camels of Allah Messenger ﷺ had been taken away by force. I asked; Who had taken them? He replied The people of Ghatafan. I made three loud cries to the people of Medina saying; O Sabahah! I made the people between the two mountains of Medina hear me. Then I rushed onward and caught up with the robbers while they were watering the camels. I started throwing arrows at them as I was a good archer and I was saying; I am the son of AlAkwa; and today will perish the wicked people. I kept on saying like that till I restored the shecamels of the Prophet ; I also snatched thirty Burda i.e. garments from them. Then the Prophet ﷺ and the other people came there; and I said; O Allah Prophet! I have stopped the people of Ghatafan from taking water and they are thirsty now. So send some people after them now. On that the Prophet said; O the son of AlAkwa! You have over-powered them; so forgive them. Then we all came back and Allah Messenger ﷺ seated me behind him on his camel till we entered Medina.

• Narrated Salama Bin AlAkwa: Once the Prophet ﷺ ordered a person on Ashura the tenth of Muharram to announce; Whoever has eaten; should not eat any more; but fast; and who has not eaten should not eat; but complete his fast till the end of the day.  +
