  Narrated Samurah Ibn Jundub: When; a boy from the Ansar and I were shooting arrows towards two of our targets; the sun was sighted by the people at the height of two or three lances above the horizon. It became black like the black herb called tannumah. One of us said to his companion: Let us go to the Masjid; by Allah; this incident of the sun will surely bring something new in the community of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. As we reached it; we suddenly saw that he the Prophet had already come out of his house. He stepped forward for a long time as much as he could do so in the prayer. But we did not hear his voice. He then performed a bowing and prolonged it as much as he could do in the prayer. But we did not hear his voice. He then prostrated himself with us and prolonged it which he never did in the prayer before. But we did not hear his voice. He then did similarly in the second rakah. The sun became bright when he sat after the second rakah. Then he uttered the salutation. He then stood up; praised Allah; and extolled Him; and testified that there was no god but Allah and testified that he was His servant and apostle. Ahmad Ibn Yunus then narrated the address of the Prophet ﷺ.

  Narrated Samurah Ibn Jundub; Ubay Ibn Kaab Samurah Ibn Jundub and Imran Ibn Husayn had a discussion about the periods of silence in prayer. Samurah then said that he remembered two periods of silence from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; one when he uttered the takbir and the other when he finished reciting: Not of those with whom Thou art angry; nor of those who go astray i.7. Samurah remembered that; but Imran Ibn Husayn rejected it. Then they wrote about it to Ubay Ibn Ka Bin He wrote a letter to them and gave a reply to them that Samurah remembered correctly.

Abdullah replied; Do not pray till water is found. Abu Mousa said; What do you say about the statement of Ammar who was ordered by the Prophet ﷺ to perform Tayammum. The Prophet ﷺ said to him: Perform Tayammum and that would be sufficient. Abdullah replied; Dont you see that Umar was not satisfied by Ammar statement? Abu Mousa said; All right; leave Ammar statement; but what will you say about this verse of Tayammum ? Abdullah kept quiet and then said; If we allowed it; then they would probably perform Tayammum even if water was available; if one of them found it water cold. Umar said; I do not ask you about these afflictions; but about those afflictions which will move like the waves of the sea. Hudhaifa said; Dont worry about it; O chief of the believers; for there is a closed door between you and them. Umar said; Will that door be broken or opened? I said; No. it will be broken. Umar said; Then it will never be closed; I said; Yes. We asked Hudhaifa; Did Umar know what that door meant? He replied; Yes; as I know that there will be night before tomorrow morning; that is because I narrated to him a true narration free from errors. We dared not ask Hudhaifa as to whom the door represented so we ordered Masruq to ask him what does the door stand for? He replied; Umar.

I said; The afflictions caused for a man by his wife; money; children and neighbor are expiated by his prayers; fasting; charity and by enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil. Umar said; I did not mean that but I asked about that affliction which will spread like the waves of the sea. I Hudhaifa said; O leader of the faithful believers! You need not be afraid of it as there is a closed door between you and it. Umar asked; Will the door be broken or opened? I replied; It will be broken. Umar said; Then it will never be closed again. I was asked whether Umar knew that door. I replied that he knew it as one knows that there will be night before the tomorrow morning. The man stood in front of Allah Apostle and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! The livestock are dying and the roads are cut off; so please pray to Allah for rain. Anas added; Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ raised both his hands and said; O Allah! Bless us with rain! O Allah! Bless us with rain! O Allah! Bless us with rain! Anas added; By Allah; we could not see any trace of cloud in the sky and there was no building or a house between us and the mountains of Sila. Anas added; A heavy cloud like a shield appeared from behind it i.e. Sila Mountain. When it came in the middle of the sky; it spread and then rained. Anas further said; By Allah! We could not see the sun for a week. Next Friday a person entered through the same gate and at that time Allah Messenger ﷺ was delivering the Friday Khutba. The man stood in front of him and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! The livestock are dying and the roads are cut off; please pray to Allah to withhold rain. Anas added; Allah Messenger ﷺ I raised both his hands and said; O Allah! Round about us and not on us. O Allah! On the plateaus; on the mountains; on the hills; in the valleys and on the places where trees grow. So the rain stopped and we came out walking in the sun. Sharik asked Anas whether it was the same person who had asked for the rain the last Friday. Anas replied that he did not know.

  Narrated Sharik Bin Abdullah Bin Abi Namr: I heard Anas Bin Malik telling us about the night when the Prophet ﷺ was made to travel from the Kaba Masjid. Three persons i.e. angels came to the Prophet ﷺ before he was divinely inspired was an Aspostle ; while he was sleeping in AlMasjid AlHaram. The first of the three angels said; Which of them is he? The second said; He is the best of them. That was all that happened then; and he did not see them till they came at another night and he perceived their presence with his heart; for the eyes of the Prophet ﷺ were closed when he was asleep; but his heart was not asleep not unconscious. This is characteristic of all the prophets: Their eyes sleep but their hearts do not sleep. Then Gabriel took charge of the Prophet ﷺ and ascended along with him to the Heaven.

Then Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ stood up to lead the prayer and one party stood to pray with him while the other faced the enemy. Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ and the former party bowed and performed two prostrations. Then that party left and took the place of those who had not prayed. Allah Messenger ﷺ prayed one raka with the latter and performed two prostrations and finished his prayer with Taslim. Then everyone of them bowed once and performed two prostrations individually.
