    Narrated Samurah Ibn Jundub: When; a boy from the Ansar and I were shooting arrows towards two of our targets; the sun was sighted by the people at the height of two or three lances above the horizon. It became black like the black herb called tannumah. One of us said to his companion: Let us go to the Masjid; by Allah; this incident of the sun will surely bring something new in the community of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. As we reached it; we suddenly saw that he the Prophet had already come out of his house. He stepped forward for a long time as much as he could do so in the prayer. But we did not hear his voice. He then performed a bowing and prolonged it as much as he could do in the prayer. But we did not hear his voice. He then prostrated himself with us and prolonged it which he never did in the prayer before. But we did not hear his voice. He then did similarly in the second rakah. The sun became bright when he sat after the second rakah. Then he uttered the salutation. He then stood up; praised Allah; and extolled Him; and testified that there was no god but Allah and testified that he was His servant and apostle. Ahmad Ibn Yunus then narrated the address of the Prophet ﷺ.

    Narrated Samurah Ibn Jundub; Ubay Ibn Kaab Samurah Ibn Jundub and Imran Ibn Husayn had a discussion about the periods of silence in prayer. Samurah then said that he remembered two periods of silence from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; one when he uttered the takbir and the other when he finished reciting: Not of those with whom Thou art angry; nor of those who go astray i.7. Samurah remembered that; but Imran Ibn Husayn rejected it. Then they wrote about it to Ubay Ibn Ka Bin He wrote a letter to them and gave a reply to them that Samurah remembered correctly.

I returned to my house; and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was there; and Abu Zayd Suhayl Ibn Amr was in the corner of the apartment and his hands were tied up on his neck with a rope. He then narrated the rest of the tradition.Abu Dawud said: They the sons of Afra killed Abu Jahl Bin Hisham. They were deputed for him though they did not realize him: and they were killed in the battle of Badr.

The Prophet ﷺ added. If somebody recites it during the day with firm faith in it; and dies on the same day before the evening; he will be from the people of Paradise; and if somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it; and dies before the morning; he will be from the people of Paradise.

If somebody recites this invocation during the night; and if he should die then; he will go to Paradise or he will be from the people of Paradise. Since you joined the company of the Prophet ﷺ I have never seen anything done by you more criticizable by me than your haste in this issue. Ammar said; O Abu Masud ! I have never seen anything done by you or by this companion of yours i.e.; Abu Mousa more criticizable by me than your keeping away from this issue since the time you both joined the company of the Prophet. Then Abu Masud who was a rich man; said to his servant ; O boy! Bring two suits. Then he gave one to Abu Mousa and the other to Ammar and said to them ; Put on these suits before going for the Friday prayer.

    Narrated Shaqiq Bin Salama: I was with Abdullah and Abu Mousa; the latter asked the former; O Abu Abdulrahman What is your opinion if somebody becomes Junub and no water is available? Abdullah replied; Do not pray till water is found. Abu Mousa said; What do you say about the statement of Ammar who was ordered by the Prophet ﷺ to perform Tayammum. The Prophet ﷺ said to him: Perform Tayammum and that would be sufficient. Abdullah replied; Dont you see that Umar was not satisfied by Ammar statement? Abu Mousa said; All right; leave Ammar statement; but what will you say about this verse of Tayammum ? Abdullah kept quiet and then said; If we allowed it; then they would probably perform Tayammum even if water was available; if one of them found it water cold. The narrator added; I said to Shaqiq; Then did Abdullah dislike to perform Tayammum because of this? He replied; Yes.

Shaqiq added: I sat in his religious gathering and I did not hear anybody opposing him in his speech.

So one of us would exert himself to earn one Mud special measure of wheat or dates; etc.; to give in charity; while today one of us may have one hundred thousand.     Narrated Shaqiq: I heard Hudhaifa saying; While we were sitting with Umar; he said; Who among you remembers the statement of the Prophet ﷺ about the afflictions? Hudhaifa said; The affliction of a man in his family; his property; his children and his neighbors are expiated by his prayers; Zakat and alms and enjoining good and forbidding evil. Umar said; I do not ask you about these afflictions; but about those afflictions which will move like the waves of the sea. Hudhaifa said; Dont worry about it; O chief of the believers; for there is a closed door between you and them. Umar said; Will that door be broken or opened? I said; No. it will be broken. Umar said; Then it will never be closed; I said; Yes. We asked Hudhaifa; Did Umar know what that door meant? He replied; Yes; as I know that there will be night before tomorrow morning; that is because I narrated to him a true narration free from errors. We dared not ask Hudhaifa as to whom the door represented so we ordered Masruq to ask him what does the door stand for? He replied; Umar.

    Narrated Shaqiq: While we were waiting for Abdullah bin Masud. Yazid Bin Muawiya came. I said to him ; Will you sit down? He said; No; but I will go into the house of Ibn Masud and let your companion Ibn Masud come out to you; and if he should not come out ; I will come out and sit with you. Then Abdullah came out; holding the hand of Yazid; addressed us; saying; I know that you are assembled here; but the reason that prevents me from coming out to you; is that Allah Messenger ﷺ used to preach to us at intervals during the days; lest we should become bored.

    Narrated Shaqiq: that he had heard Hudhaifa saying; Once I was sitting with Umar and he said; Who amongst you remembers the statement of Allah Messenger ﷺ about the afflictions? I said; I know it as the Prophet ﷺ had said it. Umar said; No doubt you are bold. I said; The afflictions caused for a man by his wife; money; children and neighbor are expiated by his prayers; fasting; charity and by enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil. Umar said; I did not mean that but I asked about that affliction which will spread like the waves of the sea. I Hudhaifa said; O leader of the faithful believers! You need not be afraid of it as there is a closed door between you and it. Umar asked; Will the door be broken or opened? I replied; It will be broken. Umar said; Then it will never be closed again. I was asked whether Umar knew that door. I replied that he knew it as one knows that there will be night before the tomorrow morning. I narrated a Hadith that was free from any misstatement The subnarrator added that they deputized Masruq to ask Hudhaifa about the door. Hudhaifa said; The door was Umar himself.

    Narrated Sharik Bin Abdullah Bin Abi Namir: I heard Anas Bin Malik saying; On a Friday a person entered the main Masjid through the gate facing the pulpit while Allah Messenger ﷺ was delivering the Khutba. The man stood in front of Allah Apostle and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! The livestock are dying and the roads are cut off; so please pray to Allah for rain. Anas added; Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ raised both his hands and said; O Allah! Bless us with rain! O Allah! Bless us with rain! O Allah! Bless us with rain! Anas added; By Allah; we could not see any trace of cloud in the sky and there was no building or a house between us and the mountains of Sila. Anas added; A heavy cloud like a shield appeared from behind it i.e. Sila Mountain. When it came in the middle of the sky; it spread and then rained. Anas further said; By Allah! We could not see the sun for a week. Next Friday a person entered through the same gate and at that time Allah Messenger ﷺ was delivering the Friday Khutba. The man stood in front of him and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! The livestock are dying and the roads are cut off; please pray to Allah to withhold rain. Anas added; Allah Messenger ﷺ I raised both his hands and said; O Allah! Round about us and not on us. O Allah! On the plateaus; on the mountains; on the hills; in the valleys and on the places where trees grow. So the rain stopped and we came out walking in the sun. Sharik asked Anas whether it was the same person who had asked for the rain the last Friday. Anas replied that he did not know.

  • Narrated Sharik Bin Abdullah Bin Abi Namr:
    Narrated Sharik Bin Abdullah Bin Abi Namr: I heard Anas Bin Malik telling us about the night when the Prophet ﷺ was made to travel from the Kaba Masjid. Three persons i.e. angels came to the Prophet ﷺ before he was divinely inspired was an Aspostle ; while he was sleeping in AlMasjid AlHaram. The first of the three angels said; Which of them is he? The second said; He is the best of them. That was all that happened then; and he did not see them till they came at another night and he perceived their presence with his heart; for the eyes of the Prophet ﷺ were closed when he was asleep; but his heart was not asleep not unconscious. This is characteristic of all the prophets: Their eyes sleep but their hearts do not sleep. Then Gabriel took charge of the Prophet ﷺ and ascended along with him to the Heaven.

Then a big cloud like a shield appeared from behind it i.e. Silas Mountain and when it came in the middle of the sky; it spread and then rained. By Allah! We could not see the sun for a week. The next Friday; a person entered through the same gate and Allah Messenger ﷺ was delivering the Friday Khutba and the man stood in front of him and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! AlZuhri said; I was told by Salim that Abdullah Bin Umar I had said; I took part in a holy battle with Allah Messenger ﷺ I in Najd. We faced the enemy and arranged ourselves in rows. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ stood up to lead the prayer and one party stood to pray with him while the other faced the enemy. Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ and the former party bowed and performed two prostrations. Then that party left and took the place of those who had not prayed. Allah Messenger ﷺ prayed one raka with the latter and performed two prostrations and finished his prayer with Taslim. Then everyone of them bowed once and performed two prostrations individually.

Later I saw in a dream someone saying to me; Hajj-Mabrur Hajj performed in accordance with the Prophet tradition without committing sins and accepted by Allah and an accepted Umra. So I told that dream to Ibn Abbas. He said; This is the tradition of Ab AlQasim. Then he said to me; Stay with me and I shall give you a portion of my property. I Shuba asked; Why did he invite you ? He Abu Jamra said; Because of the dream which I had seen.

    Narrated Shuba: Muawiya Bin Qurra reported that Abdullah Bin AlMaghaffal AlMuzani said; I saw Allah Messenger ﷺ on the day of the Conquest of Mecca; riding his camel and reciting Surat AlFath 48 or part of Surat AlFath. He recited it in a vibrating and pleasant voice. Then Muawiya recited as Abdullah Bin Mughaffal had done and said; Were I not afraid that the people would crowd around me; I would surely recite in a vibrating pleasant voice as Ibn Mughaffal did; imitating the Prophet. I asked Muawiya; How did he recite in that tone? He said thrice; A; A ; A.
