Abdullah said: He should not perform tayammum even if he does not find water for a month. Abdullah said: Then what about the verse in Surat Maida: If you do not find water; betake yourself to clean dust? Abdullah said: If they were granted concession on the basis of this verse; there is a possibility that they would perform tayammum with dust on finding water very cold for themselves. Abu Mousa said to Abdullah: You have not heard the words of Ammar: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me on an errand and I had a seminal emission; but could find no water; and rolled myself in dust just as a beast rolls itself. I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ then and made a mention of that to him and he the Holy Prophet said: It would have been enough for you to do thus. Then he struck the ground with his hands once and wiped his right hand with the help of his left hand and the exterior of his palms and his face. Abdullah Bin Masud then said: If they the people are granted concession in this respect; they might perform tayammum with pure earth when water is cold. Abu Mousa said: For this reason you forbade it ? He said: Yes. Abu Mousa then said: Did you not hear what Ammar said to Umar ? He said : The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me on some errand. I had seminal emission and I did not find water. Therefore; I rolled on the ground just as an animal rolls down. I then came to the Prophet ﷺ and made a mention of that to him. He said: It would have been enough for you to do thus. Then he struck the ground with his hands and shook them off and then stuck the right hand with his left hand and his left hand with his right hand and wiped over his hands up to the wrist and wiped his face. Abdullah then said to him: Did you not see that Umar was not satisfied with the statement of Ammar ?ot satisfied with the statement of Ammar ? +

We entered upon him and said: Messenger of Allah; we have visited you; so pray Allah what is good for us. He ordered to give us some dates. The Muslims in those days were weak. We stayed there for several days and offered the Friday prayer along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He stood leaning on a staff or a bow. He praised Allah and exalted Him in light; pure and blessed words. Then he said: O people; you have no power to obey or you cannot obey what you are ordered. But be straight and give good tidings.Abu Ali said: Did you hear Abu Dawud ? He said: Some of my companions reminded me of some words that were omitted from writing on the paper.at were omitted from writing on the paper. +

I said to him: From whom did you hear it ? They said: Amir Bin Saad has narrated it. So I came to him. They said that he was not present there. So I met his brother Ibrahim Bin Saad and asked him. He said: I bear testimony to the fact that Usama narrated it to Saad saying: I heard Allah Messenger ﷺ as saying that it is a God-sent punishment from the calamity or from the remnant of the calamity with which people were afflicted before you. So when it is in a land and you are there; dont get out of it; and if this news reaches you that it has broken out in a land; then dont enter therein. Habib said: I said to Ibrahim: Did you hear Usama narrating it to Saad and he was not denying it. He said: Yes.d and he was not denying it. He said: Yes. +

Ibn Bashshar said: I memorized it from the book- The Prophet ﷺ was drawing up ranks facing the enemy in Usfan when the idolaters were led by Khalid Bin AlWalid. The Prophet ﷺ led them in praying Zuhr. The idolaters said: They have a prayer after this that is dearer to them than their wealth and sons. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ led them in praying Asr. He divided them into two rows; behind him. He led them all in bowing; then when they raised their heads he led the row that was closest to him in prostrating; while the others remained standing. When they raised their heads from prostration; the second row prostrated; as they had already bowed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Then the front row moved forward; so each of them took the place of his companion. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ led them all in bowing; then when they raised their heads from bowing; the row that was closest to him prostrated while the others remained standing; then when they had finished prostrating; the others prostrated; then the Prophet ﷺ said the taslim for all of them together.said the taslim for all of them together. +

And Maghrib; I do not know the time he mentioned. After that I met him and asked him; and he said: He used to pray Fajr then after the prayer a man could regarding it; sitting next to him; look at the face of someone he knew and he could recognize it. He said: And he used to recite in it between sixty and one hundred verses.n it between sixty and one hundred verses. +
