You have performed Prayer in a manner which you do not ordinarily perform it. He said: Yes; It was a prayer of hope and fear. In it I asked Allah for three things. He granted me two; and withheld one from me. I asked him that my Ummah not be destroyed by drought. He granted that. I asked him that they not be overcome by enemies from other then them. He granted that. And I asked him that some of them not suffer from the harm of others; and He withheld that.

    Abdullah Bin Kinanah Bin Abbas Bin Mirdas AlSulami narrated that his father told him; from his father; that the Messenger of Allah prayed for forgiveness for his nation one evening at Arafat; and the response came: I have forgiven them; except for the wrongdoer; with whom I will settle the score in favor of the one whom he wronged. He said: O Lord; if You will; then grant Paradise to the one who is wronged; and forgive the wrongdoer. No response came that evening.The next day at Muzdalifah he repeated the supplication; and received a response to what he asked for. He the narrator said: The Messenger of Allah laughed; or he said; He smiled. Abu Bakr and Umar said to him: May my father and mother be ransomed for you; this is not a time when you usually laugh. What made you laugh; may Allah make your years filled with laughter? He said: The enemy of Allah; Iblis; when he came to know that Allah answered my prayer and forgiven my nation; took some dust and started to sprinkle it on his head; uttering cries of woe and doom; and what I saw of his anguish made me laugh.

Thereupon he said: I did not think that your trouble had become so unbearable as I see. Would you be able to afford the sacrificing of a goat? I Kaab said: Then this verse was revealed: Com- pensation in the form of fasting or alms or a sacrifice. He the Holy Prophet said: It Implies fasting for three days; or feeding six needy perscins; half sa of food for every needy person. He replied: He the Holy Prophet had said to me that he perceived as if one of them was about to observe four rakahs of the dawn prayer. Qanabi reported that Abdullah Bin Malik Bin Buhaina narrated it on the authority of his father. So; as for the corundum; it is a stone that if you were to enter a wire through it; then you polished its cloudiness away; you would surely be able to see it through it.
