    Abdullah Bin Masud reported that Allah Messenger ﷺ who is the most truthful of the human beings and his being truthful is a fact said: Verily your creation is on this wise. The constituents of one of you are collected for forty days in his mother womb in the form of blood; after which it becomes a clot of blood in another period of forty days. Then it becomes a lump of flesh and forty days later Allah sends His angel to it with instructions concerning four things; so the angel writes down his livelihood; his death; his deeds; his fortune and misfortune. By Him; besides Whom there is no god; that one amongst you acts like the people deserving Paradise until between him and Paradise there remains but the distance of a cubit; when suddenly the writing of destiny overcomes him and he begins to act like the denizens of Hell and thus enters Hell; and another one acts in the way of the denizens of Hell; until there remains between him and Hell a distance of a cubit that the writing of destiny overcomes him and then he begins to act like the people of Paradise and enters Paradise.

    Abdullah Bin Masud reported that a Jewish scholar came to Allah Apostle may peace he upon him and said: Muhammad; or Abu AlQasim; verily; Allah; the Exalted and Glorious would carry the Heavens on the Day of Judgment upon one finger and earths upon one finger and the mountains and trees upon one finger and the ocean and moist earth upon one finger; and in fact the whole of the creation upon one finger; and then He would stir them and say: I am your Lord; I am your Lord. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ smiled testifying what that scholar had said. He then recited this verse: And they honour not Allah with the honour due to Him; and the whole earth will be in His grip on the Day of Resurrection and the heaven rolled up in His right hand. That is a reminder for the mindful xi. 115. That person said: Allah Messenger; does it concern me only? He the Holy Prophet said: It concerns every one of my Unimah; who acts according to it.

    Abdullah Bin Masud reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I know the last of the inhabitants of Fire to be taken out therefrom; and the last of the inhabitants of Paradise to enter it. A man will come out of the Fire crawling. Then Allah; the Blessed and Exalted will say to him: Go and enter Paradise. So he would come to it and it would appear to him as if it were full. He would go back and say: O my Lord! I found it full. Allah; the Blessed and Exalted; would say to him: Go and enter Paradise. He would come and perceive as if it were full. He would return and say: O my Lord! I found it full. Allah would say to him: Go and enter Paradise; for there is for you the like of the world and ten times like it; or for you is ten times the like of this world. He the narrator said. He that man would say: Art Thou making a fun of me? or Art Thou laughing at me. though Thou art the King? He the narrator said: I saw the Messenger of Allah laugh till his front teeth were visible. And it was said: That would be the lowest rank among the inhabitants of Paradise.

And adhere to truth; for truth leads to good deeds; and good deeds lead to paradise. If a man continues to speak the truth and makes truth his object; he will be recorded in Allahs presence as eminently truthful.

They said: Ask him. So one amongst them asked him about the Soul. Allah Messenger ﷺ kept quiet and he gave no reply and I came to know that revelation was being sent to him; so I stood at my place and thus this revelation descended upon him: They ask thee about the Soul. Say: The Soul is by the Commandment of my Lord; and of Knowledge you are given but a little xvii. 58.

    Abdullah Bin Masud reported: Evil one is he who is evil in the womb of his mother and the good one is he who takes a lesson from the fate of others. The narrator came to a person from amongst the Companions of Allah Messenger ﷺ who was called Hudhaifa Bin Usaid Ghifari and said: How can a person be an evil one without committing an evil deed? Thereupon the person said to him: You are surprised at this; whereas I have heard Allah Messenger ﷺ as saying: When forty-two nights pass after the semen gets into the womb; Allah sends the angel and gives him shape. Then he creates his sense of hearing; sense of sight; his skin; his flesh; his bones; and then says: My Lord; would he be male or female? And your Lord decides as He desires and the angel then puts down that also and then says: My Lord; what about his age? And your Lord decides as He likes it and the angel puts it down. Then he says: My Lord; what about his livelihood? And then the Lord decides as He likes and the angel writes it down; and then the angel gets out with his scroll of destiny in his hand and nothing is added to it and nothing is subtracted from it.

    Abdullah Bin Masud reported: He who likes to meet Allah tomorrow as Muslim; he should persevere in observing these prayers; when a call is announced for them; for Allah has laid down for your Prophet the paths of right guidance; and these prayers are among the paths of right guidance. If you were to pray in your houses as this man why stays away from the Masjid prays in his house; you would abandon the practice of your Prophet; and if you were to abandon the practice of your Prophet; you would go astray. No man purifies himself; doing it well; then makes for one of those Masjids without Allah recording a blessing for him for every step he takes raising him a degree for it; and effacing a sin from him for it. I have seen the time when no one stayed away from it; except a hypocrite; who was well known for his hypocrisy; whereas a man would be brought swaying due to weakness between two men till he was set up in a row.

    Abdullah Bin Masud reported: I have seen the time when no one stayed away from prayer except a hypocrite; whose hypocrisy was well known; or a sick man; but if a sick man could walk between two persons i.e. with the help of two persons with one on each side he would come to prayer. And further said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us the paths of right guidance; among which is prayer in the Masjid in which the Adhan is called.

One of the persons among the people said: By Allah; this is not how it has been sent down. I said: Woe upon you! By Allah; I recited it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said to me: You have recited it well. I was talking with him the man who objected to my recitation that I sensed the smell of wine from him. So I said to him. Do you drink wine and belie the Book of Allah ? You would not depart till I would whip you. So I lashed him according to the prescribed punishment for the offence of drinking wine.

Ibrahim one of the narrators of this hadith said: It is my doubt; and it was said: Messenger of Allah; has there been any addition to the prayer? He the Holy Prophet said: Verily I am a human being like you. I forget just as you forget so when any one of you forgets; he must perform two prostrations; and he the Holy Prophet was sitting and then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned his face towards the Qibla and performed two prostrations.

So I recited Surat AlNisa till I reached the verse: How then shall it be when We shall bring from every people a witness and bring you against them as a witness? verse 41.     Abdullah Bin Masud reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressing us said: Arent you pleased that you should constitute one-fourth of the inhabitants of Paradise? He the narrator said: We glorified our Lord; i. e. we called aloud Allah-o Akbar; Allah is the Greatest. He; then; again said: Arent you pleased that you should constitute one-third of the inhabitants of Paradise? He the narrator said: We glorified our Lord and he the Holy Prophet then again said: I hope that you would constitute half of the inhabitants of Paradise and I shall explain to you its reason. The believers among the unbelievers would not be more than a white hair on the body of a black ox or a black hair on the body of a white ox.

Then Allah sends to him an angel with four words who records his provision the period of his life; his deeds; and whether he will be miserable or blessed ; thereafter he breathes the spirit into him. One of you will do the deeds of those who go to Paradise so that there will be only a cubit between him and it or will be within a cubit; then what is decreed will overcome him so that he will do the deeds of those who go to Hell and will enter it; and one of you will do the deeds of those who go to hell; so that there will be only a cubit between him and it or will be within a cubit; then what is decreed will overcome him; so that he will do the deeds of those who go to Paradise and will enter it.

So here I am; inflict any punishment you wish. Thereupon Umar said: Allah has concealed your fault; it would have been better if you also had concealed it yourself. The Prophet ﷺ sent a men after him. When he came he recited the verse: And establish regular prayers at the two ends of the day and at the approaches of the night... up to the end of the verse. A man from the people got up and asked: Is it particular to him; Messenger of Allah; or for the people in general? He replied: It is all the people.

And Allah; the Might; the Majestic; has laid down for his prophet ﷺ the paths of right guidance. I have seen the time when no one stayed away from prayer except a hypocrite whose hypocrite was well known. I witnessed the time when a man would be brought swaying between two men till he was set up in the row of the prayer. Every one of us has a Masjid of his in his house. If you were to pray in your houses and stay from your Masjids. You would abandon the Sunnah practice of your prophet; and if you were Abandon the Sunnah Practice of your Prophet; you would become an unbeliever.

One of you will do deeds of the people of Paradise; until there is between him and it but a forearm span; then he is overcome by what is written for him; and he is sealed off with the deeds of the people of the Fire; so that he enters it. And indeed one of you will do deeds of the people of the Fire; until there is between him and it but a forearm span; then he is overcome by what is written for him; and he is sealed off with the deeds of the people of Paradise; so that he enters it.
