  6. Abdullah Bin Umar used to pass by us while we were eating and say Do not eat two dates together at a time for the Prophet forbade the taking of two dates together at a time in a gathering
  7. After a few days the Prophet saw Abdulrahman with some yellow stains on his clothes and asked him What is that O Abdulrahman He replied I had married an Ansari woman

  17. Thereupon the Prophet said Beware Beware This is definitely Riba usury This is definitely Riba Usury Dont do so but if you want to buy a superior kind of dates sell the inferior dates for money and then buy the superior kind of dates with that money
  18. The Prophet added When the man will be permitted he will sow the seeds and the plants will grow up and get ripe ready for reaping and so on till it will be as huge as mountains within a wink

  20. Narrated Abu Huraira The Prophet said Dont keep camels and sheep unmilked for a long time for whoever buys such an animal has the option to milk it and then either to keep it or return it to the owner along with one Sa of dates

  26. Anas Bin Malik narrated that the Messenger of Allah said Whoever has dried dates then let him break the fast with that and whoever does not then let him break the fast with water for indeed water is purifying
  27. If there were no fresh dates then he would break the fast with dried dates and if there were no dried dates then he would take a few sips of water

  29. Hafs Bin Ghiyath narrated Habib Bin Abi Amrah narrated to us from Saeed Bin Jubair from Ibn Abbas regarding the saying of Allah the Mighty and Sublime What you cut down of the Linah or you left of them standing on their trunks he said The Linah is the date palms

And they were ordered to cut down the date pals that caused some hesitation in their chests so the Muslims said We cut some of them and we left some of them so let us ask the Messenger of Allah is we are to be rewarded for those that we cut down and if we will be burdened for what we left So Allah Most High revealed the Ayah What you cut down of the Linah or you left of them standing on their trunks
  31. It was narrated from Jabir that The Messenger of Allah SAW forbade soaking raisins and AlBusr together and he forbade soaking AlBusr and ripe dates together

  35. Abu Zubair narrated that he heard Jabir Bin Abdullah say The Prophet said A heap of grain should not be sold for a heap of grain or for a heap of grain of known measure
  36. Abu Sa eed said We used to sell two Sa s of mixed dates for a Sa but the Prophet said Do not sell two Sa s dates for a Sa or two Sa s wheat or a Sa or two Dirhams for a Dirham
  37. It was narrated that Amr Bin Dinar said I heard Ibn Umar say We used to sell grain before it was ripe and before it was evident that it was free of disease and blight by means of AlMukhabarah

The Muslims said Will she be one of the Mothers of the Believers or a female slave whom his right hand possesses They said If he has a Hijab for her then she will be one of the Mothers of the Believers and if she does not have a Hijab then she will be a female slave whom his right hand possesses
  39. It was narrated from Abu Saeed Al khudri that the Prophet said No sadaqah is due on less than five Awaq no Sadaqah is due on less than five Dhawd no Sadaqah is due on less than five Awsuq
  40. He started hitting that bunch of dates and said I wish that the one who gave this Sadaqah had given something better than this for the one who gave these dry bad dates will eat dry bad dates on the Day of Resurrection
  41. It was narrated that Abu Saeed AlKhudri said At the time of the Messenger of Allah we did not give anything except a Sa of dates or a Sa of barley or a Sa of raisins or a Sa of flour or a Sa of cottage cheese or a Sa of rye

Behold I when the command pertaining to the prohibition of wine was revealed it was prepared from five things from wheat barley date grape honey and wine is that which clouds the intellect and O people I wish Allah Messenger could have explained to us in more detail the laws pertaining to the inheritance of the grandfather about one who dies leaving no issue and some of the problems pertaining to interest

Ibn Umar reported I heard Umar Bin Khattab delivering sermon on the pulpit ol Allah messenger and saying Now coming to the point O people there was revealed the command pertaining to the prohibition of wine and it was prepared at that time out of five things grape date honey wheat barley and wine is that which clouds the intellect and O people I wish Allah Messenger had explained to us in greater detail three things the inheritance of the grandfather of one who dies without leaving any issue and some of the problems of interest

We buy one sa of fine quality of dates for two sa out of total output including even the inferior quality of dates whereupon Allah Messenger said Dont do that but like for like or sell this the inferior quality and receive the price and then buy with the price of that and that would make up the measure

Abu Saeed Allah be pleased with him reported Dates were brought to Allah Messenger and he said These dates are not like our dates whereupon a man said We sold two sa of our dates in order to get one sa of these fine dates whereupon Allah Messenger said That is interest so return these dates of fine quality and get your inferior dates then sell our dates for money and buy for us with the help of money such fine dates

Allah Apostle said to him Where did you get these dates I went with two sa of inferior dates and bought one sa of these fine dates for that is the prevailing price of inferior dates in the market and that is the price of the fine quality of dates in the market whereupon Allah Messenger said Woe be upon you You have dealt in interest when you decide to do it i
  49. Abu Saad said When dates are exchanged for dates with different qualities there is the possibility of the element of interest creeping into that or when gold is exchanged for gold having different qualities
  50. Numan Bin Bashir said Dont you eat and drink according to your heart desire whereas I saw that your Prophet at times could not find even an inferior quality of the dates with which he could fill his belly Qutaiba however did not make a mention of It
  51. Simak Bin Barb reported I heard Numan deliver an address in which he said that Hadrat Umar made a mention of what had fallen to the lot of people out of the material world and he said I saw Allah Messenger spend the whole day being upset because of hunger and he could not get even an interior quality of dates with which he could fill his belly
  52. Whosoever deeds we do today is it because of the fact that the pens have dried after recording them and the destitiles have began to operate or these have effects in future Thereupon he said The pens have dried tmd destinies have begun to operate
  53. And the term with my Lord is that I said to Him am a human being and I am pleased just as a human being is pleased and I lose temper just as a human being loses temper so for any person from amongst my Ummah whom I curse and he in no way deserves it let that O Lord be made a source of purification and purity and nearness to Allah on the Day of Resurrection
  54. And he gave him half a wasq of barley and the person and his wife and their guests kept on making use of it as a food until he weighed it in order to find out the actual quantity and it was no more
  55. He had neither land nor wealth nor slave nor anything else like it except a bom
  56. Abu Qatada reported Allah Messenger as saying Do not prepare Nabidh by mixing nearly ripe and fresh dates and do not prepare Nabidh by mixing together fresh dates and grapes but prepare Nabidh out of each one of them separately
  57. Abdullah Bin Abu Qatada on the authority of his father reported Allah Apostle forbidding the preparation of the mixture of ripe dates and unripe dates and the mixture of grapes and dates and that of nearly ripe dates and fresh dates but the Prophet said Prepare the Nabidh from each one of them separately
  58. Ibn Abbas reported that Allah Apostle forbade the mixing of dates and grapes together and mixing of unripe dates and ripe dates together for preparing Nabidh and he wrote to the people of Jurash in Yemen forbidding them to prepare the mixture of dates and grapes

Jabir said I take an oath by Allah that all of them ate the food to their fill until they left it and went away and our earthen pot was brimming over as before and so was the case with our flour or as Dahhak another narrator said It the flour was in the same condition and loaves had been prepared from that
  60. She brought out barley loaves then took out a head covering of hers in a part of which she wrapped those loaves and then put them beneath my mantle and covered me with a part of it

  64. Zaid Bin Thabit reported that Allah Messenger give concession in case of ariya transactions according to which the members of the household give dry dates according to a measure and then eat fresh dates in exchange for it
  65. Bashair Bin Yasir reported on the authority of some of the Companions of Allah Messenger among the members of his family among whom one was Sahl Bin Abu Hathma that Allah Messenger forbade buying of fresh dates against dry dates and that it is Riba and this is Muzabana but he made an exemption of ariya donations of a tree or two in which case the members of a family sell dry dates and buy fresh dates for eating them

Umar Allah be pleased with them reported Allah Messenger having forbidden Mazabana and it implies that one should sell the fresh fruits of his orchard for dry fruits or if it is fresh dates for dry dates with a measure or if it is grapes for raisins or if it is corn in the field for dry corn with a measure He the Holy Prophet in fact forbade all such transactions
  67. Sufyan reported I said to Zuhri Abu Bakr what does this hadith mean The worst kind of food is at a wedding feast of the rich He laughed and said The food served in the feast given by the rich is not worst in itself

Ali Bin Yahya Bin Khallad narrated from his father from his paternal uncle Rifaah Bin Rafi that He was sitting with the Prophet who said No person prayer is complete until he performs ablution properly as Allah has commanded him washing his face his arms up to the elbows wiping his head and his feet up to the ankles

  92. Their males are likethe males of the full siblings and their females are like theirfemales except in the case where the half siblings by the mother andthe full siblings share because they are not offspring of the motherwho joins these
  93. If the full siblings consist oftwo or more females they get two thirds and the half sisters by thefather get nothing with them unless there is a half brother by thefather with them

Ziyad related to me from Malik that he had heard a man he trustedof the people of knowledge say The Messenger of Allah may Allahbless him and grant him peace was shown the lifespans of the people who had gone before him or what Allah willed of that and it was asif the lives of the people of his community had become too short forthem to be able to do as many good actions as others before them hadbeen able to do with their long lives so Allah gave him Laylat al Qadr which is better than a thousand months
  95. Yahya related to me from Malik from Abd ar Rahman ibn al Qasimfrom his father from Asma bint Umays that she gave birth to Muhammadibn Abi Bakr at al Bayda
