- The Prophet further said If the people knew the reward for pronouncing the Adhan and for standing in the first row in the congregational prayer and found no other way to get it except by drawing lots they would do so and if they knew the reward of offering the Zuhr prayer early in its stated time they would race for it and if they knew the reward for Isha and Fajr prayers in congregation they would attend them even if they were to crawl
- Narrated Abu Huraira The Prophet said Allah will prepare for him who goes to the mosque every morning and in the afternoon for the congregational prayer an honorable place in Paradise with good hospitality for what he has done every morning and afternoon goings
- Aisha added I said to Hafsa Say to him If Abu Bakr should lead the people in the prayer in your place the people would not be able to hear him owing to his weeping so please order Umar to lead the prayer

- Urwa I heard Bashir Bin Abi Massuod narrating from Ibn Massuod who heard Allah Messenger saying Gabriel descended and led me in prayer and then prayed with him again and then prayed with him again and then prayed with him again and then prayed with him again counting with his fingers five prayers
- Narrated Abu Huraira Allah Messenger said The congregational prayer of anyone amongst you is more than twenty five or twenty seven times in reward than his prayer in the market or in his house for if he performs ablution completely and then goes to the mosque with the sole intention of performing the prayer and nothing urges him to proceed to the mosque except the prayer then on every step which he takes towards the mosque he will be raised one degree or one of his sins will be forgiven
- Narrated Abdullah the slave of Asma During the night of Jam Asma got down at AlMuzdalifa and stood up for offering the prayer and offered the prayer for some time and then asked O my son Has the moon set I replied in the negative and she again prayed for another period and then asked Has the moon set I replied Yes
- After performing the ablution Uthman said I am going to tell you a Hadith which I would not have told you had I not been compelled by a certain Holy Verse the sub narrator Urwa said This verse is Verily those who conceal the clear signs and the guidance which we have sent down
- Narrated Salih Bin Khawat Concerning those who witnessed the Fear Prayer that was performed in the battle of Dhat Al AlRiqa in the company of Allah Messenger One batch lined up behind him while another batch lined up facing the enemy
- There was no time that I wanted to see if he was performing Salat during the night except that I would see him praying nor to see him sleeping except that I would see him sleeping
- Narrated AlHasan from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet said The rider gives the Salam to the walking person and the walking person to the sitting person and the few to the many
- Husain narrated I heard Umarah Bin Rawaibah AlThaqafi while Bishr Bin Marwan was delivering Khutbah and raising his hands in supplication so Umarah said May Allah disgrace these two insignificant hands I have seen Allah Messenger and he would not do any more than this and Hushaim one of the narrators motioned with his index finger
- And when the Iqamah is said he again takes to his heels and after it is completed he returns again to interfere between the praying person and his heart saying to him Remember such and such remember such and such things that he had not remembered until he does not know how many Rakahs he has prayed
- The Messenger of Allah sent for him and asked him What made you do what you did He said Messenger of Allah I had been working with my camel to bring water all day and when I came the Iqamah for prayer had already been said so I entered the Masjid and joined him in the prayer then he recited such and such a Surah and made it lengthy soI went away and prayed in a comer of the Masjid
- The Messenger of Allah said Do you want to cause hardship to the people Muadh do you want to cause hardship to thepeople Muadh do you want to cause hardship to the people Muadh The Book of Leading the Prayer A AlImamah A man exiting the prayer behind the Imam and going to pray by himself in a corner of the Masjid Sahih Darussalam
- It was narrated that Abu Bakr Bin Uthman Bin Sahl Bin Hunaif said I heard Abu Umamah Bin Sahl say We prayed Zuhr with Umar Bin Abd AlAziz then we went out and entered upon Anas Bin Malik and we found him praying Asr
- Abu Yahya Sulaim Bin Amir Damrah Bin Habib and Abu Talhah Nuaim Bin Ziyad said We heard Abu Umamah AlBahili say I heard Amrah Bin Abasah say I said O Messenger of Allah is there any moment which brings one close to Allah than another or any moment that should be sought out for remembering Allah He said Yes the closest that the Lord is to His slave is in the last part of the night so if you can be among those who remember Allah at that time then do so
- It was narrated that Abdullah Bin Abi Awfa said When people brought their zakat to him the Messenger of Allah would say O Allah send salah upon the family of so and so My father brought his Sadaqah to him and he said O Allah send Salah upon the family of Abu Awfa
- you can never match it He used to pray then sleep for as long as he had prayed then he would pray as long as he had slept then he would sleep as long as he had prayed until dawn came
- It was narrated from Abu Malik AlAshjai that his father said I prayed behind the Messenger of Allah and he did not say the Qunut and I prayed behind Abu Bakr and he did not say the Qunut and I prayed behind Umar and he did not say the Qunut and I prayed behind Uthman and he did not say the Qunut and I prayed behind Ali and he did not say the Qunut
- It was narrated that Kaab Bin Ujrah said The Messenger of Allah said There are statements of remembrance following the prayer of which the one who says them will never be deprive of the reward Glorifying Allah SWT thirty three times following each prayer and praising Him thirty three times and magnifying Him thirty four times
- Hasan Bin AlRabi narrated to us Hammad Bin Zayd narrated to us on authority of Ayub and Hisham bin Hassan on authority of Muhammad bin Sirin and Fu U E D ayl bin Iya U E D narrated to us on authority of Hisham bin Hassan he said Mukhlad Bin Husayn narrated to us on authority of Hisham bin Hassan on authority of Muhammad Bin Sirin that he said Indeed this knowledge is faith so carefully consider from whom you take your faith
- He then went in and later on came out and then after that offered the sunset and night prayers together and then said God willing you would reach by tomorrow the fountain of Tabuk and you should not come to that until it is dawn and he who amongst you happens to go there should not touch its water until I come
- The people then took water of the fountain in their palms until it became somewhat significant and Allah Messenger washed his hands and his face too in it and then took it again in that fountain and there gushed forth abundant water from that fountain until all the people drank to their fill
- He after saying prayer delivered the Kutba and he found that the women could not hear it so he came to them and exhorted them and preached them and commanded them to give alms and Bilal had stretched his cloth and the women were throwing rings earrings and other things
- Then turning towards his Companions he said you the man why dont you say your prayer well Does the observer of prayer not see how he is performing the prayer for he performs it for himself By Allah I see behind me as I see In front of me
- We estimated that he stood half that time in the last two rakahs that he stood in the first two of the afternoon as long as he did in the last two at noon and in the last two of the afternoon prayer about half that time
- When he had completed the morning prayer he turned his face to the people and recited Tashahhud I bear testi mony that there is no god but Allah and I bear testimony that Muhammad is His Messen ger and then said Your affair was not hidden from me in the night but I was afraid that my observing prayer continuously might make the night prayer obligatory for you and you might be unable to perform it
- Amr Bin Abasa narrated this hadith to Abu Umama a Companion of the Messenger of Allah and Abu Umama said to him Amr Bin Abasa think what you are saying that such a great reward is given to a man at one place only in the act of ablution and prayer
- Abdullah Bin Amr reported The Messenger of Allah said The time of the noon prayer is when the sun passes the meridian and a man shadow is the same length as his height and it lasts as long as the time for the afternoon prayer has not come the time for the afternoon prayer is as long as the sun has not become pale the time of the evening prayer is as long as the twilight has not ended the time of the night prayer is up to the middle of the average night and the time of the morning prayer is from the appearance of dawn as long as the sun has not risen but when the sun rises refrain from prayer for it rises between the horns of the devil
- He said The time for the morning prayer lasts as long as the first visible part of the rising sun does not appear and the time of the noon prayer is when the sun declines from the zenith and there is not a time for the afternoon prayer and the time for the afternoon prayer is so long as the sun does not become pale and its first visible part does not set and the time for the evening prayer is that when the sun disappears and it lasts till the twilight is no more and the time for the night prayer is up to the midnight
- Those of the angels who spend the night among you then ascend and their Lord asks them though He is the best informed about them How did you leave My servants they say We left them while they were praying and we came to them while they were praying
- Jabir Bin Samura reported The Messenger of Allah used to observe prayers like your prayers but he would delay the prayer after nightfall to a little after the time you observed it and he would shorten the prayer
- Shuba said I met him subsequently and asked him about the prayers of the Holy Prophet and he said He observed the noon prayer when the sun was past the meridian he would pray the afternoon prayer after which a person would o to the outskirts of Medina and the sun was still bright I forgot what he said about the evening prayer I then met him on a subsequent occasion and asked him about the prayers of the Holy Prophet and he said He would observe the morning prayer at such a time so that a man would go back and would recognise his neighbour by casting a glance at his face and he would recite from sixty to one hundred verses in it
- Abu Musa reported Allah Messenger as saying The most eminent among human beings as a recipient of reward is one who lives farthest away and who has to walk the farthest distance and he who waits for the prayer to observe it along with the Imam his reward is greater than one who prays alone and then goes to sleep
- Narrated Amr Ibn Anbasah as Sulami I asked Messenger of Allah in which part of night the supplication is more likely to be accepted He replied In the last part Pray as much as you like for the prayer is attended by the angels and it is recorded till you offer the dawn prayer then stop praying when the sun is rising till it has reached the height of one or two lances for it rises between the two horns of the Devil and the infidels offer prayer for it at that time
- Fear Allah Uthman your wife has a right on you your guest has a right on you your self has a right on you you should keep fast and sometimes leave fast and pray and sleep
- I a sub narrator Muhammad Ibn Ibrahim said to his Abdullah Ibn Unayss son How would your father act He replied He used to enter the mosque when he had offered the afternoon prayer and did not leave it for any purpose till he prayed the morning prayer
- Narrated Amr Bin Suhaib On his father authority quoted his grandfather as saying When the Messenger of Allah prayed for rain he said O Allah Provide water for Your servants and Your cattle display Your mercy and give life to Your dead land
- Narrated Muadh Ibn Jabal On the expedition to Tabuk if the sun had passed the meridian before the apostle of Allah moved off he combined the noon and the afternoon prayers but if he moved off before the sun had passed the meridian he delayed the noon prayer till he halted for the afternoon prayer
- He prayed the noon prayer with me when the sun had passed the meridian to the extent of the thong of a sandal he prayed the afternoon prayer with me when the shadow of everything was as long as itself he prayed the sunset prayer with me when one who is fasting breaks the fast he prayed the night prayer with me when the twilight had ended and he prayed the dawn prayer with me when food and drink become forbidden to one who is keeping the fast
- On the following day he prayed the noon prayer with me when his shadow was as long as himself he prayed the afternoon prayer with me when his shadow was twice as long as himself he prayed the sunset prayer at the time when one who is fasting breaks the fast he prayed the night prayer with me when about the third of the night had passed and he prayed the dawn prayer with me when there was a fair amount of light
- Urwah then replied I heard Bashir Bin Abu Massuod say that he heard Abu Massuod AlAnsari say that he heard the Messenger of Allah say Gabriel came down and informed me of the time of prayer and I prayed along with him then prayed along with him then I prayed along with him then I prayed along with him then I prayed along with him reckoning with his fingers five times of the prayer
- Sometimes he would delay it when it was sever heat and I witnessed that he prayer the Asr prayer when the sun was high and bright before the yellowness had overcome it then a man could go off after the prayer and reach Dh AlHulaifah before the sunset and he would pray Maghrib when the sun had set and he would pray the Isha prayer when darkness prevailed over the horizon sometime he would delay it until the people assembled and once he prayer the fair prayer in the darkness of dawn and at another time he prayed it when it became fairly light but later on he continued to pray in the darkness of dawn until his death he never prayed it again in the light of the dawn
- Similarly this tradition has been narrated through a different chain by Abdullah Bin Amr Bin AlAs through a chain from Hassan Bin Atiyah from Amr Bin Shuaib from his father on the authority from the Prophet
- in congregation so much so that I intended to send people to the houses to announce the time of prayer and I also resolved that I should order people to stand at the tops of the forts and announce the time of the prayer for Muslims and they struck the bell or were about to strike the bell to announce the time for prayer
- They would stand in prayer along with the Messenger of Allah May peace be upon him some in standing position others bowing some sitting and some praying along with the Messenger of Allah May peace be upon him
- He then prayed one of the prayers sitting and we prayed one of the prayers sitting and when he finished he said the Imam is appointed only to be followed so when he prays standing pray standing and when he bows bow when he raises himself raise yourselves when he says Allah listen to him who praises Him Our Lord to Thee be the praise and when he prays sitting all of you pray sitting
- Ammar Bin Yasir said I heard the apostle of Allah say A man returns after saying his prayer while a tenth part of his prayer or a ninth part or an eight part or a seventh part or a sixth part or a fifth part or a third part or half of it is recorded for him
- AbuHurayrah said to me O youth should I not narrate a tradition to you I said Why not may Allah have mercy on you Yunus a narrator said I think he narrated it the tradition from the Prophet The first thing about which the people will be called to account out of their actions on the Day of Judgment is prayer
- Ibn Umar reported the Messenger of Allah as saying Offer some of your prayers in your houses and do not make them graves
- Ibn Abbas said The Friday prayer first offered in Islam after the Friday prayer offered in the mosque of the Messenger of Allah is Friday prayer offered at Juwatha a village from the villages of AlBahrain
- When he finished the prayer he said We shall deliver the sermon he who likes to sit for listening to it may sit and he who likes to go away may go away
- It was narrated from Salman that the Prophet saas said Your Lord is Kind and Most Generous and is too kind to let His slave if he raises his hands to Him bring them back empty or he said frustrated
- It wasnarrated that Usamah Bin Sharik said I saw the Bedouinsaskingthe Prophet Is there any harm in such and such isthereany harm in such and such He said to them O slaves of Allah Allah has only made harm in that which transgresses the honor ofonesbrother
- Abd AlAziz Bin Abu Hazim said My father told me I asked Sahl BinSad Did you ever see dough made from well sifted flour He said I never saw dough made from well sifted flour until theMessenger ofAllah passed away
- But i heard Bilal Bin Harith AlMuzani the Companion of the Messenger of Allah say that the Messenger of Allah said One of you may speak aword that pleases Allah and not know how far it reaches but Allahwill record for him as pleasure until the Day of Resurrection due tothat word
- It was narrated from Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah said There will come to the people years of treachery when theliarwill be regarded as honest and the honest man will be regardedas aliar the traitor will be regarded as faithful and the faithfulmanwill be regarded as a traitor and the Ruwaibidah will decidematters
- And myhand is shorterthan his hand There are four that will not beaccepted assacrifices The one eyed animal that is obviously blindin one eye the sick animal that is obviously sick the lame animalwith anobvious limp and the animal that is so emaciated that it isas ifthere is no marrow in its bones
- Yahya related to me from Malik from al Ala ibn Abd ar Rahman ibnYa qub that he heard Abu s Sa ib the mawla of Hisham ibn Zuhra sayhe had heard Abu Hurayra say I heard the Messenger of Allah mayAllah bless him and grant him peace say Whoever prays a prayerwithout reciting the umm al Qur an in it his prayer is aborted it isaborted it is aborted incomplete
- Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that Sa id ibn al Musayyab and Abu Salama ibn Abd ar Rahman told him from Abu Hurayrathat the Messenger of Allah may Allah bless him and grant him peace said When the imam says Amin say Amin for the one whose Amin coincides with the Amin of the angels his previous wrong actionsare forgiven him
- Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Said that al Qasimibn Muhammad showed them how to sit in the tashahhud and he kept hisright foot vertical and laid his left foot down and sat on his lefthaunch not on his foot
- Malik was asked what the people of Madina or anybody else should do about tawaf if they went into ihram in Makka at thebeginning of Dhu l Hijja and he said They should delay theobligatory tawaf which is the one they combine with the say betweenSafa and Marwa but they can do whatever other tawaf they want to andthey should pray two rakas every time they complete seven tawafs which is what the companions of the Messenger of Allah may Allahbless him and grant him peace did when they had gone into ihram to dohajj
- Malik spoke about some one who bought spun wool or a plot of land and then did some work on it like building a house on the plot ofland or weaving the spun wool into cloth
- Malik said As for goods which have been sold and which thebuyer does not improve but those goods sell well and have gone up inprice so their owner wants them and the creditors also want to seizethem then the creditors choose between giving the owner of the goodsthe price for which he sold them and not giving him any loss andsurrendering his goods to him
- Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd ibn Aslam from lyad ibnAbdullah ibn Sad ibn Abi Sarh al Amiri that he had heard Abu Said al Khudri say We used to pay the zakat al fitr with a sa of wheat or asa of barley or a sa of dates or a sa of dried sour milk or a sa ofraisins using the sa of the Prophet may Allah bless him and granthim peace
