Narrated Aisha the wife of the Prophet On the day when the sun Khasafat eclipsed Allah Messenger prayed he stood up and said Takbir and recited a prolonged recitation then he performed a prolonged bowing then he raised his head and said Samia Allahu Lyman Hamidah and then remained standing and recited a prolonged recitation which was shorter than the first

Then he bowed for a long time and then stood up for a long period which was shorter than that of the first standing then bowed again for a long time but for a shorter period than the first then he prostrated twice and then stood up for a long period which was shorter than that of the first standing then he bowed for a long time which was shorter than the previous one and then he raised his head and stood up for a long period which was shorter than the first standing then he bowed for a long time which was shorter than the first bowing and then prostrated twice and finished the prayer
  7. He returned on the forenoon and passed through the rear of the dwellings of his wives and stood up and started offering the eclipse prayer and the people stood behind him

He stood for a long period and then performed a long bowing and then stood straight for a long period which was shorter than that of the first standing then he performed a prolonged bowing which was shorter than the first bowing then he raised his head and prostrated for a long time and then stood up for the second raka for a long while but the standing was shorter than the standing of the first raka
  9. Narrated Fatima Bint AlMundhir Asma Bint Abi Bakr AlSiddiq said I went to Aishah and the people were offering Salat

  14. Prayers Salat whoever offered Salat prayer with furnace or fire or any other worshipable thing in front of him but he intended Salat solely for Allah

As for the true believer or a Muslim the sub narrator is not sure as to which of the two words Asma had said he will say Muhammad came with clear signs from Allah and we responded to him accepted his teachings and believed what he said It will be said to him Sleep in peace we have known that you were a true believer who believed with certainty

The Prophet said When you get up for the prayer perform the ablution properly and then face the Qibla and say Takbir Allahu Akbar and then recite of what you know of the and then bow and remain in this state till you feel at rest in bowing and then raise your head and stand straight and then prostrate till you feel at rest in prostration and then sit up till you feel at rest while sitting and then prostrate again till you feel at rest in prostration and then get up and stand straight and do all this in all your prayers

Narrated Abu Bakra The solar eclipse occurred while we were sitting with the Prophet He got up dragging his garment on the ground hurriedly till he reached the mosque The people turned to the mosque and he offered a two rakat prayer whereupon the eclipse was over and he traced us and said The sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah so if you see a thing like this eclipse then offer the prayer and invoke Allah till He remove that state

  27. The Prophet said O Allah Punish Abu Jahl Utba Bin Rabia Shaiba Bin Rabia AlWalid Bin Utba Umaiya Bin Khalaf and Uqba Bin AlMuit and he mentioned the seventh whose name I cannot recall

The Imam offers one raka with the first batch they themselves stand up alone and offer one bowing and two prostrations while they are still in their place and then go away to relieve the second batch and the second batch comes and takes the place of the first batch in the prayer behind the Imam and he offers the second raka with them
  29. He said Then a man from the Ansar had a dream in which someone said The Messenger of Allah ordered you to say the Tasbi U E at the end of every Salat thirty three times and to say the Ta U E mid thirty three times and to say the Takbir thirty four times He said Yes

  32. Narrated Abdullah Bin Umar I heard Umar Bin AlKhattab saying The Messenger of Allah said Four before Zuhr after the zenith are reckoned with their like from Salat AlSahr meaning the reward is like that of the two Sunan and obligatory Rakah of Fajr
  33. Aishah narrated The Prophet looked at the moon and he said O Aishah Do you seek refuge with Allah from the evil of this For indeed this is AlGhasiqu Idha Waqab The darkened one as it darkens
  34. Kathir Bin Abdullah narrated from this father from his grandfather The Prophet said the Takbir in the first Rakah sever times before the recitation and in the last five times before the recitation
  35. Sahl Bin Abi Hathmah said about Salat AlKhawf The Imam stands facing the Qiblah while a group of them stand with him and a group is before the enemy facing the enemy
  36. Then I heard it saying ktuh li biha indaka ajran wad a anni biha wizran wajalha li biha indaka dhukhran wa taqabbalha minni kama taqabbaltaha min abdiki Dawud

  38. He said AlBara who was no liar told us that when they prayed with the Messenger of Allah would raise his head from bowing and they would remain standing until they saw him prostrate then they would prostrate
  39. He said The Messenger of Allah taught us our prayer and Sunnah prayers and he said The Imam is appointed to be followed so when he says the Takbir say the Takbir when he says Not the way of those who earned Your Anger nor of those who went astray say Amin and Allah will respond to you when he rises up from bowing and says Sami Allalhu liman hamidah Allah hears those who praise Him say Rabbana laka Alhamd Our Lord toYou be praise and Allah will hear you when he prostrates prostrate and when he sits up sit up
  40. It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said I heard the Messenger of Allah say The parable of a Mujahid who strives in the cause of Allah and Allah knows best who in His cause is that of one who fasts prays Qiyam focuses with proper humility bows and prostrates
  41. Then he stood for a shorter time than in the first rakah then he bowed for a shorter time than the first then he raised his head and stood for a shorter time than the first then he bowed for a shorter time than the first then he raised his head and stood for a shorter time than the first so he bowed four times and prostrated four times and the eclipse ended
  42. And I saw the owner of the stick with a crooked end who used to steal from the Hajj pilgrims with that crooked stick leaning on his stick in Hell and saying I am the thief with the crooked stick

I saw therein the thief who stole the two camels of the Messenger of Allah and I saw therein the brother of Banu As Dudu the thief who stole from the pilgrims and when he was caught he said The crooked stick did it and I saw therein a tall black woman who was being punished because of a cat she tied up and did not feed or give it water and she did not let it eat of the vermin of the earth until it died
  44. If one of them becomes eclipsed or he said if one of them does anything like that then hasten to remember Allah the Mighty and Sublime
  45. He stood for a long time then he bowed for a long time then he stood up and remained standing for a long time then he bowed for a long time then he stood up then he prostrated for a long time then he stood up and remained standing for a long time then he bowed for a long time then he stood up then he prostrated for a long time then he sat up then he prostrated for a long time then he sat up and then he finished
  46. Umar stood up and told them not to do that and threw them out but the Messenger of Allah said Let them be there O Umar for the eye weeps and the heart grieves but soon we will join them
  47. So he stood up and when he bowed he placed his palms on his knees and put his fingers behind his knees and held his arms out from his sides until every part of him settled

Then he stood and prayed and when he prostrated he said jal fi qalbi nuran wajal fi sami nuran wajal fi basri nuran wajal min tahti nuran wajal min fawqi nuran wa an yamii nuran wa an yasari nuran wajal amami nuran wajal khalfi nuran wa azimli nura O Allah place light in my heart and place light in my hearing and place light in my seeing and place light beneath me and place light above me and light on my right and light on my left and place light behind me and make the light greater for me
  49. He started reciting AlBaqarah and he did not come to any verse that spoke of mercy but he paused and asked for mercy and he did not come to any verse that spoke of punishment but he paused and sought refuge with Allah from that
  50. It was narrated that Abu Qibalah said Malik Bin AlHuwairith used to come to us and say Shall I not tell you about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah He was praying at a time other than the time of prayer and when he raised his head from the second prostration in the first rakah he settled in a seated position then he stood up and he supported himself on the ground while doing so
  51. He said And Abu Salamah Bin Abdulrahman Abu Bakr Bin Abdulrahman abu Bakr Bin Abdulrahman Bin AlHarith and Ubaidullah Bin Abdullah informed me
  52. It was narrated that Ibrahim said Alqamah prayed five rakahs and when he said the taslim Ibrahim Bin Suwaid said O Abu Shibl you prayed five He said Is that true O odd eyed one Then he prostrated two prostrations of forgetfulness then he said This is what the Messenger of Allah did
  53. Then stand up until you are standing straight then prostrate until you are at ease prostrating then sit up until you are at ease sitting then prostrate until you are at ease prostrating then get up and continue doing that until you have finished your prayer
  54. It was narrated from Urwah that Aishah said The Messenger of Allah used to pray eleven rakahs making it odd witr by one between the time when he finished Isha and dawn and he would prostrate for as long as it takes one of you to recite fifty verses before raising his head

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that when the son of Adam recites the Ayat of Sajdah prostration and then falls down in prostration the Satan goes into seclusion and weeps and says Alas and in the narration of Abu Kuraib the words are Woe unto me the son of Adam was commanded to prostrate and he prostrated and Paradise was entitled to him and I was commanded to prostrate but I refused and am doomed to Hell
  56. Abu Huraira reported Allah Messenger as saying There will be soon a period of turmoil in which the one who sits will be better than one who stands and the one who stands will be better than one who walks and the one who walks will be better than one who runs

Then there stood up Umar and he said We are well pleased with Allah as our Lord with Islam as our code of life and with Muhammad as our Apostle and it was at that time that a person stood up and he said Who is my father Thereupon he the Holy Prophet said Your father is so and so and there was revealed the verse O you who believe do not ask about matters which if they were to be made manifest to you in terms of law might cause to you harm v

Qatada reported I heard Abe Uthman AlNahdi as saying There came to us a letter of Umar as we were in Adharbaijan or in Syria in the company of Utba Bin Farqad and the letter ran thus After usual praise and glorification of Allah it is stated that Allah Messenger has forbidden the use of silk btit to the extent of these two fingers and Abu Uthman said We at once understood by these words that he meant silk patterns on the cloth
  59. This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Imran Bin Husain through another chain of transmitters and the words are The best generation of this Umma is the generation to which I have been sent then the next one and there is an addition in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Abu Awana and the words are And Allah knows best whether he made a mention of the third generation or not the rest of the hadith is the same as transmitted by Zahdam on the authority of Imran
  60. He again returned and I also returned and they had by that time stood up and he hung a curtain between me and him at the door of the apartment of Hadrat Zainab where he had to stay and Allah revealed the verse pertaining to veil
  61. It is narrated on the authority of Muhammad Bin Munkadir that he said I heard from Massuod Bin AlHakam who narrated it on the authority of Hadrat Ali that he said We saw the Prophet stood up for a bier and we also stood up he sat down and we too sat down

Amra reported that a Jewess came to Aisha to ask about something and said May Allah protect you from the torment of the grave Aisha said Messenger of Allah would people be tormented in the graves The Messenger of Allah said May there be protection of Allah The Messenger of Allah mounted one morning on the ride and the sun eclipsed
  63. Amra said I heard Aisha say I listened after this to the Messenger of Allah seeking refuge from the torment of Fire and the torment of the grave
  64. Hell was also brought to me and I saw in it a woman belonging to the tribe of Israel who was tormented for a cat whom she had tied but did not give it food nor set it free to eat the creatures of the earth and I saw Abu Thumama Amr Bin Malik who was dragging his intestines in Hell
  65. He stood up and then bowed observing six ruku like it without completing the rakah in them except this difference that the first qiyam of ruku was longer than the later one and the ruku was nearly of the same length as prostration
  66. He then moved backward and the rows behind him also moved backward till we reached the extreme Abu Bakr said till he reached near the women He then moved forward and the people also moved forward along with him till he stood at his original place of worship
  67. Hell was brought to me as you saw me moving back on account of fear lest its heat might affect me and I saw the owner of the curved staff who dragged his intestines in the fire and he used to steal the belongings of the pilgrims with his curved staff
  68. Asma daughter of Abu Bakr reported The sun eclipsed during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah so he felt perturbed and he by mistake took hold of the outer garment of a woman till he was given his own cloak
  69. This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Ismail with the same chain of transmitters and in the hadith narrated by Sufyan and Waki the words are The sun eclipsed on the day when Ibrahim died and the people said It has eclipsed on the death of Ibrahim
  70. Hammam Bin Munabbih reported This is what Abu Huraira transmitted to us from Muhammad the Messenger of Allah and he narrated some ahadith out of these narrations and one of them is this The Messenger of Allah said When any one of you stands to lead people In prayer he should shorten it for amongst them are the aged and amongst them are the weak but when he prays by himself he may prolong his prayer as he likes
  71. Whenever he raised his head after bowing he stood up equal to the time that I can recite this supplication O Allah our Lord unto Thee be the praise which would fill the heavens and the earth and that which will please Thee besides them I Worthy art Thou of all praise and glory
  72. This hadith has been narrated by some other narrators Ibn Abbas and others and they all reported that Ali said The Apostle of Allah forbade me to recite the while I am in a state of bowing and prostration and in their narration there is a mention of forbiddance from that recital in the state of prostration as it has been transmitted by Zuhri Zaid Bin Aslam AlWahid Bin Kathir and Dawud Bin Qais
  73. Abdullah Bin Harith Bin Naufal reported I had been asking about as I was desirous to find one among people who should inform me whether the Messenger of Allah observed the forenoon prayer but I found none to narrate that to me except Umm Hani daughter of Abu Talib the real sister of Hadrat Ali who told me that on the day of the Conquest the Messenger of Allah came to our house after the dawn had sufficiently arisen
  74. I do not know whether his Qiyam standing posture was longer or bending or prostration or all of them were of equal duration
  75. Aisha reported The Messenger of Allah used to pray while sitting when he grew old and he recited in this position and when the recitation equal to thirty or forty verses was left he would then stand up and recite for this duration in a standing position and then bowed himself and then prostrated himself and did the same in the second rakah
  76. Ibrahim Bin Suwaid reported Alqama led us in the noon prayer and be offered five rakahs when the prayer was complete the people said to him Abu Shibl you have offered five rakahs
  77. Abu Qatada reported that when the Messenger of Allah was in a journey he got down for rest at night and he used to lie down on his right side and when he lay down for rest before the dawn he used to stretch his forearm and place his head over his palm
  78. Narrated Abdullah Ibn Abbas The Messenger of Allah said to AlAbbas Ibn AbdulMuttalib Abbas my uncle shall I not give you shall I not present to you shall I not donate to you shall I not produce for you ten things If you act upon them Allah will forgive you your sins first and last old and new involuntary and voluntary small and great secret and open
  79. If you can observe it once daily do so if not then once weekly if not then once a month if not then once a year if not then once in your lifetime
  80. The Messenger of Allah said Prayer during the night should consist of pairs of rakahs but if one of you fears the morning is near he should pray one rakah which will make his prayer an odd number for him
  81. If I were to command anyone to make prostration before another I would command women to prostrate themselves before their husbands because of the special right over them given to husbands by Allah
  82. The Messenger of Allah stood up and he was not going to perform bowing till he bowed and he was not going to raise his head till he raised after bowing and he was not going to prostrate himself till he prostrated himself and he was not going to raise his head till he raised at the end of prostration he did similarly in the second rakah he then puffed in the last prostration saying Fie Fie He then said My Lord didst Thou not promise me that Thou wouldst not punish them so long as I will remain among them Didst Thou not promise me that Thou will not punish them so long as they continue to beg pardon of Thee
  83. He said When the Prophet May peace be upon him heard Umars voice Ibn Zamah said The Prophet May peace be upon him came out until he took out his head of his apartment
  84. Narrated AbuHurayrah The Prophet said The imam is appointed only to be followed when he says Allah is most great say Allah is most great and do not say Allah is most great until he says Allah is most great
  85. And another version narrated by one of them has and I think in all probability that this version has been narrated by Muhammad Bin Juhadah when he got up after prostration he got up with his knees and gave his weight on his thighs
  86. Nafi said on the authority of Ibn Umar that when he began prayer he uttered the takbir Allah is most great and raised his hands and when he bowed he raised his hands and when he said Allah listens to him who praises Him he raised his hands and when he stood up at the end of two rakahs he raised his hands
  87. Abu Qilabah said Abu Sulaiman Malik Bin AlHuwairth came to our mosque and said By Allah I Shall offer prayer though I do not intend to pray I only intend to show you how I saw the Messenger of Allah praying
  88. Narrated Asma daughter of AbuBakr I heard the Messenger of Allah say One of you who believes in Allah and in the Last Day should not raise her head until the men raise their heads after prostration lest they should see the private parts of men
  89. I found his standing like his bowing and prostration and his moderation in bowing was like that of his prostration and his sitting between the two prostration and his prostration and his sitting between the salutation and going away after finishing the prayer were nearly equal to one another
  90. Narrated Uqbah Ibn Amir When Glorify the name of your mighty Lord was revealed the Messenger of Allah said Use it when bowing and when Glorify the name of your most high Lord was revealed he said Use it when prostrating yourself
  91. Hudhaifah said that he prayed along with the Prophet and that he said when bowing Glory be to my mighty Lord and when he prostrated himself Glory be to my most high Lord when he came to a verse which spoke of mercy he stopped and made supplication and when he came to a verse which spoke of punishment he stopped and sought refuge in Allah
  92. Abu Dawud said Mamar and Abi Bin AlMubarak mentioned the name Iyad Bin Hilal and AlAwzai mentioned the name of Iyad Bin Abi Zuhair
  93. Then I raised my head and begged my Lord for my people and He gave me a third of my people so I prostrated myself in gratitude to my Lord
  94. He said None ofyoushould lap up water as a dog does and he should not drink waterfromone hand as the people with whom Allah is angry do and heshould notdrink from a vessel at night without stirring it first unless thevessel was covered
  95. It was narrated from Abu Saeed AlKhudri that the Messenger ofAllah said Soon the best wealth of a Muslim will be sheepwhich hefollows in the mountain peaks and places where rainfall isto befound fleeing for the sake of his religion from tribulations
  96. It was narrated from Abu Saeed that the Messenger of Allah stood up to deliver a sermon and one of the things that he said was This world is fresh and sweet and Allah will make your successivegenerations therein so look at what you do and beware of thetemptations of this world and beware of the temptations of women
  97. When you only see him as atraitor who is called such by others then mercy will be taken awayfrom him and when mercy is taken away from him you will only seehimas rejected and accursed and when you only see him as rejectedandaccursed then the bond of Islam will be taken away from him
  98. It was narrated from Anas Bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah said Hasten to do good deeds before six things happen Therising of the sun from the west place of its setting the smoke thebeast of the earth Dajjal False Christ that which will happentoeach of you death and that which will happen to all people theDayof Resurrection
  99. They said OMessenger ofAllah we used to sacrifice the Farah during theIgnorance days whatdo you command us to do He said Forevery Saimah flock ofgrazing animals feed the firstborn asyou feed the rest of yourflock until it reaches an age where itcould be used to carry loads then sacrifice it and give its meat incharity I think he said to the wayfarer for that isgood
  100. It wasnarrated from Miqdam Bin Madikarib that the Messenger ofAllah said The martyr has six things in store with Allah Heisforgiven from the first drop of his blood that is shed he is shownhis place in Paradise he is spared the torment of the grave he iskept safe from the Great Fright he is adorned with a garment offaith he is married to wives from among the wide eyed houris andhe is permitted to intercede for seventy of his relatives
  101. It wasnarrated that Bara Bin Azib said We were talking abouthow on Battle of Badr the Companions of the Messenger of Allah numbered three hundred ten and something the same number as theCompanions of Talut who crossed the river with him and no onecrossed the river with him but a believer
  102. I heard him reciting the umm al Qur an and this ayat Our Lord donot make our hearts go astray after You have guided us and give usmercy from Your presence
  103. Malik said concerning some one who was in a crowd on the day ofjumua and did the ruku but was not able to go into sajda until theimam had risen or finished his prayer If he is able to do the sajdaand has already done the ruku then he should do the sajda when thepeople stand up
  104. Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that a man askedAbdullah ibn Umar whether the witr was obligatory and Abdullah ibnUmar said The Messenger of Allah may Allah bless him and grant himpeace prayed witr and the muslims prayed witr
  105. Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that Abdullahibn Umar was asked about what a pregnant woman should do if the fastbecame difficult for her and she feared for her child and he said She should break the fast and feed a poor man one mudd of wheat inplace of every day using the mudd of the Prophet may Allah bless himand grant him peace
  106. Malik said The people of knowledgeconsider that she has to make up for each day of the fast that shemisses as Allah the Exalted and Glorified says And whoever of youis sick or on a journey should fast an equal number of other days and they consider her pregnancy and her concern for her child as asickness
