He the narrator said: I heard Abu AlZubair say: Jabir explained for them the word safar. Abu AlZubair said: safar means belly. It was said to Jabir: Why is it so? He said that it was held that safar implied the worms of the belly; but he gave no explanation of ghoul. Usama said: I am in doubt whether there was stone on that his belly or not. I asked some of his Companions why Allah Messenger ﷺ had bandaged his belly. They said: He has done that to relieve his hunger. I went to Abu Talha ; the husband of Umm Sulaim; the daughter of Milhan; and said to him: Father; I saw Allah Messenger ﷺ having bandaged his belly. I asked some of his Companions the reason of it and they said that it was due to hunger. Abu Talha came to mv mother and said: Is there anything? She said: Yes; I have some pieces of bread with me and some dates. If Allah Messenger ﷺ comes to us alone we can feed him to his fill; but if someone comes along with him this would be insufficient for them. The rest of the hadith is the same. | The Chapter on Food And Sheeps in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 20 in Sahih Muslim

SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-26557 | Narrated Abdullah Ibn Abbas: A blind man had a slave-mother who used to abuse the Prophet ﷺ and disparage him. He forbade her but she did not stop. He rebuked her but she did not give up her habit. One night she began to slander the Prophet ﷺ and abuse him. So he took a dagger; placed it on her belly; pressed it; and killed her. A child who came between her legs was smeared with the blood that was there. When the morning came; the Prophet ﷺ was informed about it. He assembled the people and said: I adjure by Allah the man who has done this action and I adjure him by my right to him that he should stand up. Jumping over the necks of the people and trembling the man stood up. He sat before the Prophet ﷺ and said: Messenger of Allah! I am her master; she used to abuse you and disparage you. I forbade her; but she did not stop; and I rebuked her; but she did not abandon her habit. I have two sons like pearls from her; and she was my companion. Last night she began to abuse and disparage you. So I took a dagger; put it on her belly and pressed it till I killed her. Thereupon the Prophet ﷺ said: Oh be witness; no retaliation is payable for her blood. | The Chapter on Standing For Prayers Of The Companions in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The ruling regarding one who reviles the prophet pbuh in Sunan Abu Dawoud
SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-26952 | Abu Huraira reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying : it is better for a mans belly to be full of pus than to be full of poetry.Abu Ali said : I have been told that Abu Ubaid said : It means that his heart is full of poetry so much so that it makes him neglectful of the Quran and remembrance of Allah. If the Quran and the knowledge of religion are dominant; the belly will not be full of poetry in our opinion. Some eloquent speech is magic. It means that a man expresses his eloquence by praising another man; and he speaks the truth about him so much so that he attracts the hearts to his speech. He then condemns him and speaks the truth about him so much so that he attracts the hearts to another of his speech; as if he spelled the audience by it. | The Chapter on Truth And Hypocrisy And Dreams in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on What has been narrated about poetry in Sunan Abu Dawoud

A nomadic Arab asked: How is it that when camels are in the sand as if they were gazelles and a mangy camel comes among them and it gives them mange ? He replied: Who infected the first one ? Mamar; quoting AlZuhri said: A man told me that Abu Huraira narrated to him saying that he heard the Prophet ﷺ say: A diseased camel should not be brought with a healthy camel to drink water. He said: The man then consulted him and said: Did you not tell us that Prophet ﷺ had said: There is no infection; no serpent in a hungry belly and no hamah? He replied: I did not transmit it to you. AlZuhri said: Abu Salamah said: He had narrated it and I did not hear that Abu Huraira had ever forgotten any tradition except this one. | The Chapter on Camels And Herdsmen Control And Managing in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on AtTiyarah in Sunan Abu Dawoud |
