SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6718Narrated Alqama: We were sitting with Ibn Masud when Khabbab came and said; O Abu Abdulrahman Can these young fellows recite Quran as you do? Ibn Masud said; If you wish I can order one of them to recite Quran for you. Khabbab replied; Yes. Ibn Masud said; Recite; O Alqama! On that; Zaid Bin Hudair; the brother of Ziyad Bin Hudair said; to Ibn Masud ; Why have you ordered Alqama to recite though he does not recite better than we? Ibn Masud said; If you like; I would tell you what the Prophet ﷺ said about your nation and his i.e. Alqamas nation. So I recited fifty Verses from Surat Maryam. Abdullah bin Masud said to Khabbab; What do you think about Alqama recitation ? Khabbab said; He has recited well. Abdullah said; Whatever I recite; Alqama recites. Then Abdullah turned towards Khabbab and saw that he was wearing a gold ring; whereupon he said; Hasnt the time for its throwing away come yet? He said; I will not give you your due till you disbelieve in Muhammad. Khabbab said; By Allah; I shall not disbelieve in Muhammad till Allah makes you die and then resurrects you. AlAsi said; So leave me till I die and then be resurrected; for I will be given wealth and children whereupon I will pay you your debt. SahihMuslim-017-001-21803Dawud Bin Amir Bin Saad Bin Abu Waqqas reported on the authority of his father that while he was sitting along with Abdullah Bin Umar; Khabbab; the owner of Maqsura; said: Ibn Umar; do you hear what Abu Huraira says that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: He who goes out with the bier when taken out from its residence and offers prayer for it and he then follows it till it is buried; he would have two qirats of reward; each qirat being equivalent to Uhud; and he who; after having offered prayer; directly came back would have his reward as great as Uhud? Ibn Umar sent Khabbab to Aisha in order to ask her about the words of Abu Huraira and also told him to come back to him Ibn Umar and inform him what Aisha said. In the meanwhile Ibn Umar took up a handful of pebbles and turned them over in his hand till the messenger Khabbab came back to him and told him that Aisha testified the statement of Abu Huraira. Ibn Umar threw the pebbles he had in his hand on the ground and then said: We missed a large number of qirats. The Chapter on Jihad And Ramadan in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 17 in Sahih Muslim
