I said to Khalid; Dont you see this i.e. Ali ? When we reached the Prophet ﷺ I mentioned that to him. He said; O Buraida! Do you hate Ali? I said; Yes. SahihMuslim-017-001-17385		Abdullah Bin Buraida reported on the authority of his father that Maiz Bin Malik AlAslami came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and said: Allah Messenger; I have wronged myself; I have committed adultery and I earnestly desire that you should purify me. He turned him away. On the following day; he Maiz again came to him and said: Allah Messenger; I have committed adultery. Allah Messenger ﷺ turned him away for the second time; and sent him to his people saying: Do you know if there is anything wrong with his mind. They denied of any such thing in him and said: We do not know him but as a wise good man among us; so far as we can judge. He Maiz came for the third time; and he the Holy Prophet sent him as he had done before. He asked about him and they informed him that there was nothing wrong with him or with his mind. When it was the fourth time; a ditch was dug for him and he the Holy Prophet pronounced judg- ment about him and he wis stoned. He the narrator said: There came to him the Holy Prophet a woman from Ghamid and said: Allah Messenger; I have committed adultery; so purify me. He the Holy Prophet turned her away. On the following day she said: Allah Messenger; Why do you turn me away? Perhaps; you turn me away as you turned away Maiz. By Allah; I have become pregnant. He said: Well; if you insist upon it; then go away until you give birth to the child. When she was delivered she came with the child wrapped in a rag and said: Here is the child whom I have given birth to. He said: Go away and suckle him until you wean him. When she had weaned him; she came to him the Holy Prophet with the child who was holding a piece of bread in his hand. She said: Allah Apostle; here is he as I have weaned him and he eats food. He the Holy Prophet entrusted the child to one of the Muslims and then pronounced punishment. And she was put in a ditch up to her chest and he commanded people and they stoned her. Khalid b Walid came forward with a stone which he flung at her head and there spurted blood on the face of Khalid and so he abused her. Allah Apostle ﷺ heard his Khalids curse that he had huried upon her. Thereupon he the Holy Prophet said: Khalid; be gentle. By Him in Whose Hand is my life; she has made such a repentance that even if a wrongful tax-collector were to repent; he would have been forgiven. SahihMuslim-017-001-17486		Abdullah Bin Abbas reported that Khalid Bin Walid who is called the Sword of Allah had informed him that he visited Maimuna; the wife of Allah Apostle ﷺ ; in the company of Allah Messenger ﷺ ; and she was the sister of his mother that of Khalid and that of Ibn Abbas; and he found with her a roasted lizard which her sister Hufaida the daughter of AlHarith had brought from Najd; and she presented that lizard to Allah Messenger ﷺ. It was rare that some food was presented to the Prophet ﷺ and it was not mentioned or named. While Allah Messenger ﷺ was about to stretch forth his hand towards the lizard; a woman from amongst the women present there informed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ what they had presented to him. They said: Messenger of Allah; it is a lizard. Allah Messenger ﷺ withdrew his hand; whereupon Khalid Bin Walid said: Messenger of Allah; is a lizard forbidden? There opon he said: No; but it is not found in the land of my people; and I feel that I have no liking for it. Khalid said: I then chewed and ate it; and Allah Messenger ﷺ was looking at me and he did not forbid me to eat it. SahihMuslim-017-001-18033		Auf Bin Malik has narrated that a man from the Himyar tribe killed an enemy and wanted to take the booty. Khalid Bin Walid; who was the commander over them; forbade; him. Auf b Malik the narrator came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him to this effect. The latter asked Khalid: What prevented you from giving the booty to him? Khalid said: I thought it was too much. He the Holy Prophet said: Hand it over to him. Now when Khalid by Auf; the latter pulled him by his cloak and said by way of chafing him : Hasnt the same thing happened what I reported to you from the Messenger of Allah may peace he upon him ? When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard it. he was angry and said : Khalid; dont give him; Khalid; dont give him. Are you going to desert the commanders appointed by roe? Your similitude and theirs is like a person who took camels and sheep for grazing. He grazed them and when it was time for them to have a drink; he brought them to a pool. So they drank from it; drinking away its clear water and leaving the turbid water below So the clear water i. e. the best reward is for you and the turbid water i e. blame is for them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ drank from it. I was upon his right and Khalid was upon left; so he said to me: The turn to drink is for you; so if you wish; you could choose to grant it to Khalid. So I said: I would not prefer anyone above myself for your leftovers. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Whoever Allah feeds some food; then let him say: O Allah; bless it for us; and feed us better than it; Allahumma barik lana fihi wa a<U+1E6D>imna khairan minhu and whomsoever Allah gives milk to drink; then let him say: O Allah bless it for us; and grant us increase in it Allahumma barik lana fihi wa zidna minhu. And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said; There is nothing that suffices in the place of food and drink except for milk. So I went to him and he said: The Messenger of Allah said: Allah will admit three people to Paradise because of one arrow: The one who makes it seeking good thereby; the one who shoots it and the one who hands it to him. So shoot and ride; and if you shoot that is dearer to me than if you ride. And play is only in three things: A man training his horse; and playing with his wife; and shooting with his bow and arrow. Whoever gives up shooting after learning it because he is no longer interested in it; that is a blessing for which he is ungrateful -or that he has rejected. He was called Hani Ibn Kulthum Ibn Sharik AlKinani. He greeted Abdullah Ibn Zakariya who knew his rank. Khalid said to us: Abdullah Ibn Abu Zakariya told us: I heard Umm AlDarda say: I heard AbudDarda say: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: It is hoped that Allah may forgive every sin; except in the case of one who dies a polytheist; or one who purposely kills a believer. Hani Ibn Kulthum AlRabi then said: I heard Mahmud Ibn AlRabi transmitting a tradition from Ubadah Ibn AlSamit who transmitted from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said: If a man kills a believer unjustly; Allah will not accept any action or duty of his; obligatory or supererogatory. Khalid then said to us: Ibn Abu Zakariya transmitted a tradition to us from Umm AlDarda on the authority of AbudDarda from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said: A believer will continue to go on quickly and well so long as he does not shed unlawful blood; when he sheds unlawful blood; he becomes slow and heavy-footed. A similar tradition has been transmitted by Hani Ibn Kulthum from Mahmud Ibn AlRabi on the authority of Ubadah Ibn AlSamit from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She returned; and on the next day she came to him again; and said: Perhaps you want to send me back as you did to Maiz Bin Malik. I swear by Allah; I am pregnant. He said to her: Go back. She then returned and came to him the next day. He said to her: Go back until you give birth to a child. She then returned. When she gave birth to a child; she brought the child to him; and said: Here it is! I have given birth to it. He said: Go back; and suckle him until you wean him. When she had weaned him; she brought him the boy to him with something in his hand which he was eating. The boy was then given to a certain man of the Muslims and he the Prophet commanded regarding her. So a pit was dug for her; and he gave orders about her and she was stoned to death. Khalid was one of those who were throwing stones at her. He threw a stone at her. When a drop blood fell on his cheeks; he abused her. The Prophet ﷺ said to him: Gently; Khalid. By Him in whose hand my soul is; she has reported to such an extent that if one who wrongfully takes extra tax were to repent to a like extent; he would be forgiven. Then giving command regarding her; prayed over her and she was buried. Muawiyah said to AlMiqdam: Do you know that AlHasan Ibn Ali has died? AlMiqdam recited the Quranic verse We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. A man asked him: Do you think it a calamity? He replied: Why should I not consider it a calamity when it is a fact that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to take him on his lap; saying: This belongs to me and Husayn belongs to Ali? The man of Banu Asad said: He was a live coal which Allah has extinguished. AlMiqdam said: Today I shall continue to make you angry and make you hear what you dislike. He then said: Muawiyah; if I speak the truth; declare me true; and if I tell a lie; declare me false. He said: Do so. He said: I adjure you by Allah; did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbidding use to wear gold? He replied: Yes. He said: I adjure you by Allah; do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited the wearing of silk? He replied: Yes. He said: I adjure you by Allah; do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited the wearing of the skins of beasts of prey and riding on them? He said: Yes. He said: I swear by Allah; I saw all this in your house; O Muawiyah. Muawiyah said: I know that I cannot be saved from you; O Miqdam. Khalid said: Muawiyah then ordered to give him what he did not order to give to his two companions; and gave a stipend of two hundred dirhams to his son. AlMiqdam then divided it among his companions; and the man of Banu Asad did not give anything to anyone from the property he received. When Muawiyah was informed about it; he said: AlMiqdam is a generous man; he has an open hand for generosity. The man of Banu Asad withholds his things in a good manner. The narrator Khalid version says: You may give it to the travellers; for it is better. Khalid said: I asked Abu Qilabah: How many pasturing animals? He replied: One hundred. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29766		Awuf Bin malik AlAshjaI said I went out with Zaid Bin Harith in the battle of Mutah. For the reinforcement of the Muslim army a man from the people of Yemen accompanied me. He had only his sword with him. A man from the Muslims slaughtered a Camel. The man for the reinforcement asked him for a part of its skin which he gave him. He made it like the shape of a shield. We went on and met the Byzantine armies. There was a man among them on a reddish horse with a golden saddle and golden weapons. This Byzantinian soldiers began to attack the Muslims desperately. The man for reinforcement sat behind a rock for attacking him. He hamstrung his horse and overpowered him and then killed him. He took his horse and weapons. When Allah; Most High; bestowed victory on the Muslims. Khalid Bin AlWalid sent for him and took his spoils. Awuf said I came to him and said Khalid; do you know that the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ had decided to give spoils to the killer? He said Yes; I thought it abundant. I said You should return it to him; or I shall tell you about it before the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ. But he refused to return it. Awuf said We then assembled with the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ. I told him the story of the man of reinforcement and what Khalid had done. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said Khalid; what made you do the work you have done? He said Apostle of Allaah ﷺ ; I considered it to be abundant. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said Khalid; return it to him what you have taken from him. Awuf said I said to him here you are; Khalid. Did I not keep my word? The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said What is that? I then informed him. He said The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ became angry and said Khalid; do not return it to him. Are you going to leave my commanders? You may take from them what is best for you and eave to them what is worst. MuwataMalik-017-001-34553		Malik related to me from Abdulrahman Ibn Abdullah Ibn Abdulrahman Ibn Abi Sasaca that Sulayman Ibn Yasar said; The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; entered the house of Maimuna bint AlHarith and there was a lizard in which there were eggs to eat. Abdullah Ibn Abbas and Khalid Ibn AlWalid were with him. He said; From where did you get this? She replied; My sister; Huzayla bint AlHarith; gave it to me. He then told Abdullah Ibn Abbas and Khalid to eat. They said; Wont you eat; Messenger of Allah? He said; There are those who visit me from Allah. Maimuna said; Messenger of Allah; shall we give you some milk to drink which we have? He said; Yes. When he drank; he said; From where did you get this? She said; My sister; Huzayla gave it to me. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Do you see your slave-girl whom you asked me for permission to free? Give her to your sister and bring her to your maternal relatives to take care of her. That is better for you. MuwataMalik-017-001-34554		Malik related to me from Ibn Shihab from Abu Umama Ibn Sahl Ibn Hunayf from Abdullah Ibn Abbas that Khalid Ibn AlWalid Ibn AlMughira entered the house of Maimuna; the wife of the Prophet; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; with the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and he was brought a roasted lizard. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; stretched his hand toward it. One of the women who was in Maimuna house said; Tell the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; what he means to eat. Someone said; It is a lizard; Messenger of Allah. He withdrew his hand. Khalid said; Is it haram; Messenger of Allah? He said; No; but there were none in my people land; and I find that I dislike them. Khalid added; I chewed and ate it while the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; was looking.
