They will reply, "They have left us in the lurch," And they will bear witness against themselves, that they had rejected Allah.

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1437		Narrated Sahl Bin Saad AlSaidi: Uwaimir AlAjlani came to Aasi m Bin Adi and said; If a man found another man with his wife and killed him; would you sentence the husband to death in Qisas; i.e.; equality in punishment ? O Aasi m! Please ask Allah Messenger ﷺ about this matter on my behalf. Aasi m asked the Prophet ﷺ but the Prophet disliked the question and disapproved of it. Aasi m returned and informed Uwaimir that the Prophet disliked that type of question. Uwaimir said; By Allah; I will go personally to the Prophet. Uwaimir came to the Prophet ﷺ when Allah had already revealed Quranic Verses in that respect ; after Aasi m had left the Prophet ﷺ. So the Prophet ﷺ said to Uwaimir; Allah has revealed Quranic Verses regarding you and your wife. The Prophet ﷺ then called for them; and they came and carried out the order of Lian. Then Uwaimir said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Now if I kept her with me; I would be accused of telling a lie. So Uwaimir divorced her although the Prophet ﷺ did not order him to do so. Later on this practice of divorcing became the tradition of couples involved in a case of Lian. The Prophet ﷺ said to the people. Wait for her! If she delivers a red short small child like a Wahra a short red animal. then I will be of the opinion that he Uwaimir has told a lie but if she delivered a black big-eyed one with big buttocks; then I will be of the opinion that he has told the truth about her. Ultimately she gave birth to a child that proved the accusation. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2447		Narrated Abu Huraira: When Khaibar was conquered; Allah Messenger ﷺ was presented with a poisoned roasted sheep. Allah Apostle said; Collect for me all the Jews present in this area. When they were gathered Allah Apostle said to them; I am going to ask you about something; will you tell me the truth? They replied; Yes; O Abal-Qasim! Allah Messenger ﷺ said to them; Who is your father? They said; Our father is so-and-so. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; You have told a lie. for your father is so-and-so; They said; No doubt; you have said the truth and done the correct thing. He again said to them; If I ask you about something; will you tell me the truth? They replied; Yes; O Abal-Qasim! And if we should tell a lie you will know it as you have known it regarding our father; Allah Messenger ﷺ then asked; Who are the people of the Hell Fire? They replied; We will remain in the Hell Fire for a while and then you Muslims will replace us in it Allah Messenger ﷺ said to them. You will abide in it with ignominy. By Allah; we shall never replace you in it at all. Then he asked them again; If I ask you something; will you tell me the truth? They replied; Yes. He asked. Have you put the poison in this roasted sheep? They replied; Yes; He asked; What made you do that? They replied; We intended to learn if you were a liar in which case we would be relieved from you; and if you were a prophet then it would not harm you. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3821		Narrated Abu Huraira: When Khaibar was conquered; a roasted poisoned sheep was presented to the Prophet ﷺ as a gift by the Jews. The Prophet ﷺ ordered; Let all the Jews who have been here; be assembled before me. The Jews were collected and the Prophet ﷺ said to them ; I am going to ask you a question. Will you tell the truth? They said; Yes. The Prophet ﷺ asked; Who is your father? They replied; So-and-so. He said; You have told a lie; your father is so-and-so. They said; You are right. He said; Will you now tell me the truth; if I ask you about something? They replied; Yes; O Abu AlQasim; and if we should tell a lie; you can realize our lie as you have done regarding our father. On that he asked; Who are the people of the Hell Fire? They said; We shall remain in the Hell Fire for a short period; and after that you will replace us. The Prophet ﷺ said; You may be cursed and humiliated in it! By Allah; we shall never replace you in it. Then he asked; Will you now tell me the truth if I ask you a question? They said; Yes; O Abu AlQasim. He asked; Have you poisoned this sheep? They said; Yes. He asked; What made you do so? They said; We wanted to know if you were a liar in which case we would get rid of you; and if you are a prophet then the poison would not harm you. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3976		Narrated Abdullah Bin Masud: Saad Bin Muadh came to Mecca with the intention of performing Umra; and stayed at the house of Umaiya Bin Khalaf Abi Safwan; for Umaiya himself used to stay at Saad house when he passed by Medina on his way to Sham. Umaiya said to Sad; Will you wait till midday when the people are at their homes ; then you may go and perform the Tawaf round the Kaba? So; while Saad was going around the Kaba; Abu Jahl came and asked; Who is that who is performing Tawaf? Saad replied; I am Sad. Abu Jahl said; Are you circumambulating the Kaba safely although you have given refuge to Muhammad and his companions? Saad said; Yes; and they started quarreling. Umaiya said to Sad; Dont shout at Abi AlHakam i.e. Abu Jahl ; for he is chief of the valley of Mecca. Saad then said to Abu Jahl. By Allah; if you prevent me from performing the Tawaf of the Kaba; I will spoil your trade with Sham. Umaiya kept on saying to Sad; Dont raise your voice. and kept on taking hold of him. Saad became furious and said; to Umaiya ; Be away from me; for I have heard Muhammad saying that he will kill you. Umaiiya said; Will he kill me? Saad said; Yes;. Umaiya said; By Allah! When Muhammad says a thing; he never tells a lie. Umaiya went to his wife and said to her; Do you know what my brother from Yathrib i.e. Medina has said to me? She said; What has he said? He said; He claims that he has heard Muhammad claiming that he will kill me. She said; By Allah! Muhammad never tells a lie. So when the infidels started to proceed for Badr Battle and declared war against the Muslims ; his wife said to him; Dont you remember what your brother from Yathrib told you? Umaiya decided not to go but Abu Jahl said to him; You are from the nobles of the valley of Mecca ; so you should accompany us for a day or two. He went with them and thus Allah got him killed. SahihMuslim-017-001-18728		It is narrated on the authority of Masruq that he said: I was resting at the house of Aisha that she said: O Abu Aisha kunya of Masruq ; there are three things; and he who affirmed even one of them fabricated the greatest lie against Allah. I asked that they were. She said: He who presumed that Muhammad ﷺ saw his Lord with his ocular vision fabricated the greatest lie against Allah. I was reclining but then sat up and said: Mother of the Faithful; wait a bit and do not be in a haste. Has not Allah Mighty and Majestic said: And truly he saw him on the clear horizon AlQuran; Surat AlTakwir; 81:23 and he saw Him in another descent AlQuran; Surat Najm 53:13 ? She said: I am the first of this Ummah who asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it; and he said: Verily he is Gabriel. I have never seen him in his original form in which he was created except on those two occasions to which these verses refer ; I saw him descending from the heaven and filling the space from the sky to the earth with the greatness of his bodily structure. She said: Have you not heard Allah saying: Eyes comprehend Him not; but He comprehends all vision. and He is Subtle; and All-Aware AlQuran; Surat AlAnam 6:103 ? She; i.e. Aisha; further said : Have you not heard that; verily; Allah says: And it is not for any human being that Allah should speak to him except by revelation or from behind a partition or that He sends a messenger to reveal; by His permission; what He wills. Indeed; He is Most High and Wise. AlQuran; Surat AlShura; 42:51 She said: He who presumes that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ concealed anything from the Book of Allah fabricates the greatest lie against Allah. Allah says: O Messenger; announce that which has been revealed to you from your Lord; and if you do not; then you have not conveyed His message. And Allah will protect you from the people. She said: He who presumes that he would inform about what was going to happen tomorrow fabricates the greatest lie against Allah. SahihMuslim-017-001-19112		Abdullah Bin Safwan reported that Hafsa told him that she had heard Allah Apostle ﷺ as saying: An army would attack this House in order to fight against the inhabitants of this House and when it would be at the plain ground the ranks in the centre of the army would be sunk and the vanguard would call the rear flanks of the army and they would also be sunk and no flank would be left except some people who would go to inform them their kith and kin. A person who had been listening to this hadith from Abdullah Bin Safwan said: I bear testimony in regard to you that you are not imputing a lie to Hafsa. SahihMuslim-017-001-22104		Ubaidullah Bin Abu Rafi; the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; said: When Haruria the Khawarij set out and as he was with Ali Bin Abu Talib Allah be pleased with him they said; There is no command but that of Allah. Upon this Ali said: The statement is true but it is intentionally applied to support a wrong cause. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ described their characteristics and I found these characteristics in them. They state the truth with their tongue; but it does not go beyond this part of their bodies and the narrator pointed towards his throat. The most hateful among the creation of Allah is one black man among them Khawarij. One of his hand is like the teat of a goat or the nipple of the breast. When Ali Bin Abu Talib Allah be pleased with him killed them; he said: Search for his dead body. They searched for him; but they did not find it his dead body. Upon this he said: Go and search for him. By Allah; neither I have spoken a lie nor has the lie been spoken to me. Ali said this twice and thrice. They then found him the dead body in a rain. They brought his dead body till they placed it before him Hadrat Ali. Ubaidullah said: And; I was present at that place when this happened and when Ali said about them. I said to him: Inform me if it is Sunnah to observe Tawaf between AlSafa and AlMarwa while riding; for your people look upon it as Sunnah. He Ibn Abbas said: They have told the truth and the lie too. I said: What do your words They have told the truth and the lie too imply? He said: When Allah Messenger ﷺ had come to Mecca; there was such a large gathering of people around him that even the virgins had come out of their houses to catch a glimpse of his face. And they were saying: He is Muhammad; He is Muhammad. Allah Messenger ﷺ was so gentle and kind that the people were not beaten back to make way in front of him. A ghoul would come and take from it; so he complained about that to the Prophet ﷺ. So he said: Go; and when you see her say: In the Name of Allah; answer to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: So I caught her; and she swore that she would not return; so I released her. He went to the Prophet ﷺ and he said: What did your captive do? He said: She swore not to return. He said: She has lied; and she will come again to lie. He said: I caught her another time and she swore that she would not return; so I released her; and went to the Prophet ﷺ. He said: What did your captive do? He said: She swore that she would not return. So he said: She lied and she will come again to lie. So he caught her and said: I shall not let you go until you accompany me to the Prophet ﷺ. She said: I shall tell you something: If you recite Ayat AlKursi in your home; then no Shaitan; nor any other shall come near you. So he went to the Prophet ﷺ and he said: What did your captive do? He said: I informed him of what she said; and he said: She told the truth and she is a continuous liar. He said They spoke the truth in part and told a lie in part. I asked What truth did they speak and what lie did they tell? He said They spoke the truth that the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ walked proudly while going round the Kabah but they told a lie; this is no sunnah. The Quraish asserted during the days of AlHudaibiyah Forsake Muhammad and his Companions till they die the death of a Camel which dies of bacteria in its nose. When they concluded a treaty with him agreeing upon the fact that they the Prophet and his Companions would come to Makkah next year and stay at Makkah three days; the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said to the Companions Walk proudly moving shoulders while going round the Kabah in first three circuits. Ibn Abbas said But this is not sunnah. I said Your people think that the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ ran between AlSafa and AlMarwah on a Camel and that is sunnah. He said They spoke the truth in part and told a lie in part. I asked What truth did they speak and what lie did they tell? He said they spoke the truth that the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ ran between AlSafa and AlMarwah on a Camel. They told a lie that it is a sunnah. As the people did not move from around the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ and did not separate themselves from him he did the sai on a Camel so that they may listen to him and see his position and their hands might not reach him. Aban was afflicted by some paralysis and when a man who heard the tradition began to look at him; he said to him: Why are you looking at me? I swear by Allah; I did not tell a lie about Uthman; nor did Uthman tell a lie about the Prophet ﷺ ; but that day when I was afflicted by it; I became angry and forgot to say them. MuwataMalik-017-001-35398		Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham Ibn Urwa from his father that Aisha; umm Almuminin said; Rashness in oaths is that a man says; By Allah; No! by Allah! i.e. out of habit. Malik said; The best of what I have heard on the matter is that rashness in oaths is that a man take an oath on something to show that he is certain that it is like he said; only to find that it is other than what he said. This is rashness. Malik said; The binding oath is for example; that a man says that he will not sell his garment for ten dinars; and then he sells it for that; or that he will beat his young slave and then does not beat him; and so on. One does kaffara for making such an oath; and there is no kaffara in rashness. Malik said; As for the one who swears to a thing which he knows is wicked; and he swears to a lie he knows to be a lie; in order to please someone with it or to excuse himself to someone by it or to gain money by it; no kaffara that he does for it can cover it.
