Suddenly I saw Allah Apostle standing by my head. He said; O Abu Huraira! I replied; Labbaik; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; and Sadaik! Then he held me by the hand; and made me get up. Then he came to know what I was suffering from. He took me to his house; and ordered a big bowl of milk for me. I drank thereof and he said; Drink more; O Abu Hirr! So I drank again; whereupon he again said; Drink more. So I drank more till my belly became full and looked like a bowl. Afterwards I met Umar and mentioned to him what had happened to me; and said to him; Somebody; who had more right than you; O Umar; took over the case. Afterwards I met Abu Bakr who said; Perhaps you became angry with me when you presented Hafsa to me and I did not give you a reply? I said; Yes. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3962Narrated AlBara Bin Azib: Abu Bakr came to my father who was at home and purchased a saddle from him. He said to Azib. Tell your son to carry it with me. So I carried it with him and my father followed us so as to take the price of the saddle. My father said; O Abu Bakr! Tell me what happened to you on your night journey with Allah Messenger ﷺ during Migration. He said; Yes; we travelled the whole night and also the next day till midday. when nobody could be seen on the way because of the severe heat. Then there appeared a long rock having shade beneath it; and the sunshine had not come to it yet. So we dismounted there and I levelled a place and covered it with an animal hide or dry grass for the Prophet ﷺ to sleep on for a while. I then said; Sleep; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; and I will guard you. So he slept and I went out to guard him. Suddenly I saw a shepherd coming with his sheep to that rock with the same intention we had when we came to it. I asked him. To whom do you belong; O boy? He replied; I belong to a man from Medina or Mecca. I said; Do your sheep have milk? He said; Yes. I said; Will you milk for us? He said; Yes. He caught hold of a sheep and I asked him to clean its teat from dust; hairs and dirt. The sub-narrator said that he saw AlBara striking one of his hands with the other; demonstrating how the shepherd removed the dust. The shepherd milked a little milk in a wooden container and I had a leather container which I carried for the Prophet ﷺ to drink and perform the ablution from. I went to the Prophet; hating to wake him up; but when I reached there; the Prophet ﷺ had already awakened; so I poured water over the middle part of the milk container; till the milk was cold. Then I said; Drink; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He drank till I was pleased. Then he asked; Has the time for our departure come? I said; Yes. So we departed after midday. Suraqa Bin Malik followed us and I said; We have been discovered; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said; Dont grieve for Allah is with us. The Prophet ﷺ invoked evil on him i.e. Suraqa and so the legs of his horse sank into the earth up to its belly. The subnarrator; Zuhair is not sure whether Abu Bakr said; It sank into solid earth. Suraqa said; I see that you have invoked evil on me. Please invoke good on me; and by Allah; I will cause those who are seeking after you to return. The Prophet ﷺ invoked good on him and he was saved. Then; whenever he met somebody on the way; he would say; I have looked for him here in vain. So he caused whomever he met to return. The Prophet ﷺ further said; That night I was given two cups; one full of milk and the other full of wine. I was asked to take either of them which I liked; and I took the milk and drank it. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4294Narrated Malik Bin Sasaa: The Prophet ﷺ said; While I was at the House in a state midway between sleep and wakefulness; an angel recognized me as the man lying between two men. A golden tray full of wisdom and belief was brought to me and my body was cut open from the throat to the lower part of the Abdomen and then my Abdomen was washed with Zamzam water and my heart was filled with wisdom and belief. AlBuraq; a white animal; smaller than a mule and bigger than a donkey was brought to me and I set out with Gabriel. When I reached the nearest heaven. Gabriel said to the heaven gate-keeper; Open the gate. The gatekeeper asked; Who is it? He said; Gabriel. The gate-keeper; Who is accompanying you? Gabriel said; Muhammad. The gate-keeper said; Has he been called? Gabriel said; Yes. Then it was said; He is welcomed. What a wonderful visit his is! Then I met Adam and greeted him and he said; You are welcomed O son and a Prophet. Then we ascended to the second heaven. It was asked; Who is it? Gabriel said; Gabriel. It was said; Who is with you? He said; Muhammad It was asked; Has he been sent for? He said; Yes. It was said; He is welcomed. What a wonderful visit his is! Then I met Jesus and Yahya John who said; You are welcomed; O brother and a Prophet. Then we ascended to the third heaven. It was asked; Who is it? Gabriel said; Gabriel. Then we ascended to the 4th heaven and again the same questions and answers were exchanged as in the previous heavens. There I met Idris and greeted him. He said; You are welcomed O brother and Prophet. Then we ascended to the 5th heaven and again the same questions and answers were exchanged as in previous heavens. there I met and greeted Aaron who said; You are welcomed O brother and a Prophet. Then we ascended to the 6th heaven and again the same questions and answers were exchanged as in the previous heavens. There I met and greeted Moses who said; You are welcomed O brother and. a Prophet. When I proceeded on; he started weeping and on being asked why he was weeping; he said; O Lord! Followers of this youth who was sent after me will enter Paradise in greater number than my followers. Then we ascended to the seventh heaven and again the same questions and answers were exchanged as in the previous heavens. There I met and greeted Abraham who said; You are welcomed o son and a Prophet. Then I was shown AlBait AlMamur i.e. Allah House. I asked Gabriel about it and he said; This is AlBait AlMamur where 70;000 angels perform prayers daily and when they leave they never return to it but always a fresh batch comes into it daily. Then I was shown Sidrat AlMuntaha i.e. a tree in the seventh heaven and I saw its Nabk fruits which resembled the clay jugs of Hajr i.e. a town in Arabia ; and its leaves were like the ears of elephants; and four rivers originated at its root; two of them were apparent and two were hidden. I asked Gabriel about those rivers and he said; The two hidden rivers are in Paradise; and the apparent ones are the Nile and the Euphrates. Then fifty prayers were enjoined on me. I descended till I met Moses who asked me; What have you done? I said; Fifty prayers have been enjoined on me. He said; I know the people better than you; because I had the hardest experience to bring Bani Israel to obedience. Your followers cannot put up with such obligation. So; return to your Lord and request Him to reduce the number of prayers. I returned and requested Allah for reduction and He made it forty. I returned and met Moses and had a similar discussion; and then returned again to Allah for reduction and He made it thirty; then twenty; then ten; and then I came to Moses who repeated the same advice. Ultimately Allah reduced it to five. When I came to Moses again; he said; What have you done? I said; Allah has made it five only. He repeated the same advice but I said that I surrendered to Allah Final Order Allah Messenger ﷺ was addressed by Allah; I have decreed My Obligation and have reduced the burden on My slaves; and I shall reward a single good deed as if it were ten good deeds. The Chapter on Heaven Gabriel Moses And Abraham in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The reference to angels in Sahih AlBukhari

The Prophet ﷺ asked me; What is wrong with the camel? I replied; It has got tired. So. Allah Messenger ﷺ came from behind it and rebuked it and prayed for it so it started surpassing the other camels and going ahead of them. Then he asked me; How do you find your camel now ? I replied; I find it quite well; now as it has received your blessings. He said; Will you sell it to me? I felt shy to refuse his offer though it was the only camel for irrigation we had. So; I said; Yes. He said; Sell it to me then. I sold it to him on the condition that I should keep on riding it till I reached Medina. Then I said; O Allah Apostle! I am a bridegroom; and requested him to allow me to go home. He allowed me; and I set out for Medina before the people till I reached Medina; where I met my uncle; who asked me about the camel and I informed him all about it and he blamed me for that. When I took the permission of Allah Messenger ﷺ he asked me whether I had married a virgin or a matron and I replied that I had married a matron. He said; Why hadnt you married a virgin who would have played with you; and you would have played with her? I replied; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! My father died or was martyred and I have some young sisters; so I felt it not proper that I should marry a young girl like them who would neither teach them manners nor serve them. So; I have married a matron so that she may serve them and teach them manners. I started throwing arrows at them saying; I am the son of AlAkwa; and today perish the mean people! So; I saved the camels from them before they i.e. the robbers could drink water. When I returned driving the camels; the Prophet ﷺ met me; I said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ Those people are thirsty and I have prevented them from drinking water; so send some people to chase them. We were three I and my two brothers. I was the youngest of them; and one of the two was Abu Burda; and the other; Abu Ruhm; and our total number was either 53 or 52 men from my people. Then we all came to Medina and met the Prophet ﷺ at the time of the conquest of Khaibar. Some of the people used to say to us; namely the people of the ship; We have migrated before you. Asma bint Umais who was one of those who had come with us; came as a visitor to Hafsa; the wife the Prophet ﷺ. She had migrated along with those other Muslims who migrated to Negus. Umar came to Hafsa while Asma bint Umais was with her. Umar; on seeing Asma; said; Who is this? She said; Asma bint Umais; Umar said; Is she the Ethiopian? Is she the sea-faring lady? Dhu Amr said to me; If what you are saying about your friend i.e. the Prophet is true; then he has died three days ago. Then both of them accompanied me to Medina; and when we had covered some distance on the way to Medina; we saw some riders coming from Medina. We asked them and they said; Allah Messenger ﷺ has died and Abu Bakr has been appointed as the Caliph and the people are in a good state. Then they said; Tell your friend Abu Bakr that we have come to visit him ; and if Allah will; we will come again. So they both returned to Yemen. When I told Abu Bakr their statement; he said to me; I wish you had brought them to me. Afterwards I met Dhu Amr; and he said to me; O Jarir! You have done a favor to me and I am going to tell you something; i.e. you; the nation of Arabs; will remain prosperous as long as you choose and appoint another chief whenever a former one is dead. SahihMuslim-017-001-17220Salama Bin Kuhail reported: I heard Sowaid Bin Ghafala say: I went out; and also Zaid Bin Suhan and Salman Bin Rabia for Jihad; and I found a whip and took it up. They said to me: Leave it. I said: No. but I will make announcement of it and if its owner comes then I will return that ; otherwise I will use it; and I refused them. When we returned from Jihad. by a good fortune for me; I performed Pilgrimage. I came to Medina and met Ubay Bin Kaab and related to him the affair of the whip and their opinion the opinion of Zaid Bin Suhan and Salman Bin Rabia about it i. e. I should throw it. Thereupon he said: I found a money bag during the lifetime of Allah Messenger ﷺ which contained one hundred dinars. I came to him along with it; and he said: Make an announcement of it for one year; so I announced it; but did not find anyone who could claim it after recognising it. I again came to him and he said: Make announcement for one year. So I made announcement of it; but I found none who could recognise it. I came to him he said: Make announcement of it for one year. I made announcement of that but did not find one who could recognise it; whereupon he said: Preserve in your mind its number; its bag and its strap; and if its owner comes then return that to him ; otherwise make use of it. SahihMuslim-017-001-17897It has been reported on the authority of Anas Bin Malik that some people came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said to him: Send with us some men who may teach us the Quran and the Sunnah. Accordingjy; he sent seventy men from the Ansar. They were called the Reciters and among them was my maternal uncle. Haram. They used to recite the Quran; discuss and ponder over its meaning at night. In the day they brought water and poured it in pitchers in the Masjid; collected wood and sold it; and with the sale proceeds bought food for the people of the Suffa and the needy. The Prophet ﷺ sent the Reciters with these people; but these treacherous people fell upon them and killed thern before they reached their destination While dying ; they said: O Allah; convey from us the news to our Prophet that we have met Thee in a way that we are pleased with Thee and Thou art pleased with us. The narrator said : A man attacked Haram maternal uncle of Anas from behind and smote him with a spear which pierced him. While dying ; Haram said: By the Lord of the Kaba; I have met with success. SahihMuslim-017-001-18036It has been narrated on the authority of Salama Bin AlAkwa who said: We fought against the Fazara; and Abu Bakr was the commander over us. He had been appointed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When we were only at an hour distance from the water of the enemy; Abu Bakr ordered us to attack. We made a halt during the last part of the night to rest and then we attacked from all sides and reached their watering-place where a battle was fought. Some of the enemies were killed and some were taken prisoners. I saw a group of persons that consisted of women and children. I was afraid lest they should reach the mountain before me; so I shot an arrow between them and the mountain. When they saw the arrow; they stopped. So I brought them; driving them along. Among them was a woman from Banu Fazara. She was wearing a leather coat. With her was her daughter who was one of the prettiest girls in Arabia. I drove them along until I brought them to Abu Bakr who bestowed that girl upon me as a prize. So we arrived in Medina. I had not yet disrobed her when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ met me in the street and said: Give me that girl; O Salama. I said: Messenger of Allah; she has fascinated me. I had not yet disrobed her. When on the next day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ again met me in the street; he said: O Salama; give me that girl; may God bless your father. I said: She is for you; Messenger of Allah! By Allah. I have not yet disrobed her. He said: No. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Go back; I will not seek help from a Mushrik polytheist. He went on until we reached Shajara; where the man met him again. He asked him the same question again and the man gave him the same answer. He said: Go back. Im will not seek help from a Mushrik. The man returned and overtook him at Baida? He said: There were brought to me two vessels. In one of them was milk and in the other one there was wine. And it was said to me: Select any one you like. SahihMuslim-017-001-19021AlBara Bin Azib reported that Abu Bakr AlSiddiq came to the residence of my father Azib and bought a haudaj from him and said to Azib: Send your son to my residence to carry this haudaj ; and my father said to me: Carry it for him. So I carried it and there went along with him with Abu Bakr my father in order to fetch its price and he Azib said to Abu Bakr: Abu Bakr; narrate to me what you both did on the night when you set out on a journey along with Allah Messenger ﷺ. He said: We set out during the night and went on walking until it was noon; and the path was vacant and so none passed by that until there appeared prominently before us a large rock. It had its shade and the rays of the sun did not reach that place. So we got down at that place. I then went to the rock and levelled the ground with my hands at the place where the Prophet ﷺ would take rest under its shade. I then set the bedding and said: Allah Messenger; go to sleep and I shall keep a watch around you. I went out and watched around him. There we saw a shepherd moving towards that rock with his flock and he intended what we intended i. e. taking rest. I met him and said to him: Young boy; to which place do you belong? He said: I am a person from Medina. I said; is there any milk in the udders of your sheep and goats? He said: Yes. He took hold of a goat; and I said to him: Clean the udder well so that it should be free from hair; dust and impurity. I saw AlBara striking his hand upon the other to give an indication how he did that. He milked the goat for me in a wooden cup which he had with him and I had with me a bucket in which I kept water for drinking and for performing ablution. I came to Allah Apostle ﷺ and did not like to awaken him from sleep but he was accidentally startled from the sleep. I poured water upon the milk till It was cold and I said: Allah Messenger; take this milk. He then took It and I was delighted and he the Holy Prophet said: Is now not the time to march on? I said: Of course. So he marched on after the sun had passed the meridian and Suraqa Bin Malik pursued us and we had been walking on soft; level ground. I said: Allah Messenger; we are about to be overtaken by them. Thereupon he said: Be not grieved. Verily; Allah is with us. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ cursed him and his horse sank into the earth. I think he also said: I know you have hurled curse upon me. So supplicate Allah for me and I take an oath that I shall turn everyone away who would come in search of you. So he Allah Messenger supplicated Allah and he was rescued and he came back and to everyone he met; he said: I have combed all this side. I said: You have not told me the truth; by Allah some of you informed me that he would not die until he would have the largest number of offspring and huge wealth and it is he about whom it is thought so. Then Ibn Sayad talked to us. I then departed and met him again for the second time and his eye had been swollen. I said: What has happened to your eye? He said: I do not know. I said: This is in your head and you do not know about it? He said: If Allah so wills He can create it eye in your staff. He then produced a sound like the braying of a donkey. Some of my companions thought that I had struck him with the staff as he was with me that the staff broke into pieces; but; by Allah; I was not conscious of it. I thus met him and asked him about things which he narrated from Allah Messenger ﷺ. And amongst these the one he mentioned was that Allah Apostle ﷺ said: Verily; Allah does not take away knowledge from people directly but he takes away the scholars and consequently takes away knowledge along with them and leaves amongst persons the ignorant as their leaders who deliver religious verdicts without adequate knowledge and themselves go astray and lead others astray. Urwa said: When I narrated this to Aisha; she deemed it too much to believe and thus showed reluctance to accept that as perfectly true and said to; Urwa: Did he Abdullah Bin Amr say to you that he had heard Allah Apostle ﷺ as saying: Urwa had forgotten to ask this from Abdullah Bin Amr. SahihMuslim-017-001-20820Abu Mousa reported: We were in Yemen when we heard of the migration of Allah Messenger ﷺ. We also set out as immigrants to him. And I was accompanied by two brothers of mine; I being the youngest of them; one of them was Abu Burda and the other one was Abu Ruhm; and there were some other persons with them. Some say they were fifty-three or fifty-two persons of my tribe. We embarked upon a boat; and the boat sailed away to the Negus of Abyssinia. There we met Jafar Bin Abu Talib and his companions. Jafar said: Allall Messenger ﷺ has sent us here and has commanded us to stay here and you should also stay with us. So we stayed with him and we came back to Medina and met Allah Messenger ﷺ when Khaibar had been conquered. He the Holy Prophet allocated a share to us and in the ordinary course he did not allocate the share to one who had been absent on the occasion of the conquest of Khaibar but conferred a share upon him only who had been present there with him. He; however; made an exception for the people of the boat; viz. for Jafar and his companions. He allocated a share to them; and some persons from amongst the people said to us; viz. the people of the boat: We have preceded you in migration. Asma bint Umais who had migrated to Abyssinia and had come back along with them along with immigrants visited Hafsa; the wife of Allah Apostle ﷺ. Accordingly ; Umar had been sitting with her Hafsa. As Umar saw Asma; he said: Who is she? She Hafsa said: She is Asma; daughter of Umais. He said: She is an Abyssinian and a sea-woman. Asma said: Yes; it is so. Thereupon Umar said: We preceded you in migration and so we have more right to Allah Messenger ﷺ as compared with you. At this she felt annoyed and said: Umar; you are not stating the fact; by Allah; you had the privilege of being in the company of the Messenger ﷺ who fed the hungry among you and instructed the ignorant amongst you; whereas we had been far from here in the land of Abyssinia amongst the enemies and that was all for Allah and Allah Messenger ﷺ and; by Allah; I would never take food nor take water unless I make a mention to Allah Messenger ﷺ of what you have said. We remained in that country in constant trouble and dread and I shall talk about it to Allah Messenger way ﷺ and ask him about it. By Allah; I shall not tell a lie and deviate from the truth and add anything to that. So; when Allah Apostle ﷺ came; she said: Allah Apostle; Umar says so and so. Upon this Allah Messenger ﷺ said: His right is not more than yours; for him and his companions there is one migration; but for you; i. e. for the people of the boat; there are two migrations. She said: I saw Abu Mousa and the people of the boat coming to me in groups and asking me about this hadith; because there was nothing more pleasing and more significant for them than this. They entered his house and they ate and went out. And Allah Messenger ﷺ had kept his hand on the food; and he invoked blessing on that; and said whatever Allah wished him to say; and none whom I met was left uninvited. They ate to their fill and went out; but a group among them remained there and was engaged in lengthy discussion. Allah Apostle ﷺ felt shy of saying them anything. So he went out and left them in his house and Allah the Great and Majestic revealed this verse: 0 you who believe; enter not the houses of the Prophet unless permission is given to you for a meal; not waiting for its cooking being finished. Qatada instead of using the word Ghaira Nazirina used the word Ghaira Mutahayinina i. e. not waiting for the time of the food. But when you are invited; enter... up to this verse. SunanAlNasai-017-001-16599It was narrated that Abu Huraira said: I went out to AlTur and met Ka Bin He and I spent a day together; when I narrated things to him from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he narrated things to me from the Tawrah. I said to him: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The best day on which the sun rises is Friday. On this day; Adam was created; on this day he was sent down; on it repentance was accepted; on this day he died; and on this day the Hour will begin. There is no living creature on Earth that does not listen out from Friday morning until the sun rises; fearing the onset of the Hour; except the son of Adam. On Friday there is an hour in which; if a believer prays and asks Allah SWT for something; He will give it to him. Kaab said: Is than one day in every year? I said: No; it is every Friday. Then Kaab read in the Tawrah and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke the truth; it is every Friday. Then I went out and met Basrah Bin Abi Basrah AlGhifari. He said: From where have you come? I said: From AlTur. He said: If I had met you before you went there; you would not have gone. I said to him: Why? He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Do not travel especially to visit a masjid except three: AlMasjid AlHaram in Makkah ; my masjid in AlMadinah and the Masjid of Bait AlMaqdis in Jerusalem. Then I met Abdullah Bin Salam and said: If you had only seen me; I went to AlTur and met Kaab and he and I spent the day together; when I narrated things to him from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he narrated things to me from the Tawrah. I said to him: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The best day on which the sun rises is Friday. On Friday there is an hour in which; if a believer prays and asks Allah SWT for something; He will give it to him. Kaab said: That is one day in every year. Abdullah Bin Salam said: Kaab is not telling the truth. I said: Then Kaab read in the Tawrah and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke the truth; it is every Friday. Abdullah said: Kaab spoke the truth; I know when that time is. I said: O my brother; tell me about it. He said: It is the last hour of Friday; before the sun sets. I said: Did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: If a believer prays; but that is not a time for prayer. He said: Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Whoever prays and sits waiting for the next prayer; is in a state of prayer until the next prayer comes? I said: Of course. He remained silent for a while; then he turned to me and said: You should prostrate; because I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: There is no one who prostrated once to Allah; the Mighty and Sublime; except that Allah will raise him one degree in status thereby; and erase one sin thereby. Madan said: Then I met Abu AlDarda and asked him the same question I had asked Thawban. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-26048Narrated Abdullah Ibn Masud: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The first defect that permeated Banu Israil was that a man of them met another man and said: O so-and-so; fear Allah; and abandon what you are doing; for it is not lawful for you. He then met him the next day and that did not prevent him from eating with him; drinking with him and sitting with him. When they did so. Allah mingled their hearts with each other. He then recited the verse: curses were pronounced on those among the children of Israil who rejected Faith; by the tongue of David and of Jesus the son of Mary...up to wrongdoers. He then said: By no means; I swear by Allah; you must enjoin what is good and prohibit what is evil; prevent the wrongdoer; bend him into conformity with what is right; and restrict him to what is right. The Chapter on Special Days And Alquran in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Command And Prohibition in Sunan Abu Dawoud

He said: I shall tell you except that it is something secret. Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ shake hands with you when you met him? He replied: I never met him without his shaking hands with me. One day he sent for me when I was not at home. When I came I was informed that he had sent for me. I came to him and found him on a couch. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-27298Narrated Qays Ibn Bishr AlTaghlibi: My father told me that he was a companion of Abu AlDarda. There was in Damascus a man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ ; called Ibn AlHanzaliyah. He was a recluse and rarely met the people. He remained engaged in prayer. When he was not praying he was occupied in glorifying Allah and exalting Him until he went to his family. Once he passed us when we were with AbudDarda. AbudDarda said to him: Tell us a word which benefits us and does not harm you. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent out a contingent and it came back. One of the men came and sat in the place where the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to sit; and he said to a man beside him: Would that you saw us when we met the enemy and so-and-so attacked and cut through a lance. He said: Take it from me and I am a boy of the tribe Ghifar. What do you think about his statement? He replied: I think his reward was lost. Another man heard it and said: I do not think that there is any harm in it. They quarrelled until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard it; and he said: Glory be to Allah! There is no harm if he is rewarded and praised. I saw that AbudDarda was pleased with it and began to raise his hand to him and say: Did you hear it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ? He said: Yes. He continued to repeat it to him so often that I thought he was going to kneel down. He said: On another day he again passed us. AbudDarda said to him: Tell us a word which benefits us and does not harm you. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us: One who spends on the maintenance of horses for jihad is like the one who spreads his hand to give alms sadaqah and does not withhold it. He then passed us on another day. AbudDarda said to him: Tell us a word which benefits us and does no harm to you. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Khuraym AlAsadi would be a fine man were it not for the length of his hair; which reaches the shoulders; and the way he lets his lower garment hang down. When Khuraym heard that; he hurriedly; took a knife; cut his hair in line with his ears and raised his lower garment half way up his legs. He then passed us on another day. AbudDarda said to him: tell us a word which benefits us and does not harm you. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: You are coming to your brethren; so tidy your mounts and tidy your dress; until you are like a mole among the people. Allah does not like obscene words or deeds; or do intentional committing of obscenity.Abu Dawud said: Similarly; Abu Nuaim narrated from Hisham. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29326Narrated Abdullah AlHawzani: I met Bilal; the Muadhdhin of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at Aleppo; and said: Bilal; tell me; what was the financial position of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ? He said: He had nothing. It was I who managed it on his behalf since the day Allah made him Prophet of Allah ﷺ until he died. When a Muslim man came to him and he found him naked; he ordered me to clothe him. I would go; borrow some money ; and purchase a cloak for him. I would then clothe him and feed him. A man from the polytheists met me and said: I am well off; Bilal. Do not borrow money from anyone except me. So I did accordingly. One day when I performed ablution and stood up to make call to prayer; the same polytheist came along with a body of merchants. When he saw me; he said: O Abyssinian. I said: I am at your service. He met me with unpleasant looks and said harsh words to me. He asked me: Do you know how many days remain in the completion of this month? I replied: The time is near. He said: Only four days remain in the completion of this month. I shall then take that which is due from you i.e. loan ; and then shall return you to tend the sheep as you did before. I began to think in my mind what people think in their minds on such occasions. When I offered the night prayer; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned to his family. I sought permission from him and he gave me permission. I said: Messenger of Allah; may my parents be sacrificed for you; the polytheist from whom I used to borrow money said to me such-and-such. Neither you nor I have anything to pay him for me; and he will disgrace me. So give me permission to run away to some of those tribes who have recently embraced Islam until Allah gives His Apostle ﷺ something with which he can pay the debt for me. So I came out and reached my house. I placed my sword; waterskin or sheath ; shoes and shield near my head. When dawn broke; I intended to be on my way. All of a sudden I saw a man running towards me and calling: Bilal; return to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. So I went till I reached him. I found four mounts kneeling on the ground with loads on them. I sought permission. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: Be glad; Allah has made arrangements for the payment of your debt. He then asked: Have you not seen the four mounts kneeling on the ground? I replied: Yes. He said: You may have these mounts and what they have on them. There are clothes and food on them; presented to me by the ruler of Fadak. Take them away and pay off your debt. I did so. He then mentioned the rest of the tradition. I then went to the Masjid and found that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sitting there. I greeted him. He asked: What benefit did you have from your property? I replied: Allah Most High paid everything which was due from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Nothing remains now. He asked: Did anything remain from that property ? I said: Yes. He said: Look; if you can give me some comfort from it; for I shall not visit any member of my family until you give me some comfort from it. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ offered the night prayer; he called me and said: What is the position of that which you had with you i.e. property ? I said: I still have it; no one came to me. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed the night in the Masjid. He then narrated the rest of the tradition. Next day when he offered the night prayer; he called me and asked: What is the position of that which you had i.e. the rest of the property ? I replied: Allah has given you comfort from it; Messenger of Allah. He said: Allah is Most Great; and praised Allah; fearing lest he should die while it was with him. I then followed him until he came to his wives and greeted each one of them and finally he came to his place where he had to pass the night. This is all for which you asked me.The Chapter on Horses And Property in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Regarding The Imam Accepting Gifts From Idolaters in Sunan Abu Dawoud
SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29744Salamah said We went out on an expedition with Abu Bakr. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ appointed him commander over us. We attacked Fazarah and took them from all sides. I then saw a group of people which contained children and women. I shot an arrow towards them; but it fell between them and the mountain. They stood; I brought them to Abu Bakr. There was among them a woman of Fazarah. She wore a skin over her and her daughter who was the most beautiful of the Arabs was with her. Abu Bakr gave her daughter to me as a reward. I came back to Madeenah. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ met me and said to me Give me the woman; Salamah. I said to him; I swear by Allaah; she is to my liking and I have not yet untied he garment. He kept silence; and when the next day came the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ met me in the market and said to me Give me the woman; Salamah; by Allaah; your father. I said the Apostle of Allaah; I have not yet untied her garment. I swear by Allaah; she is now yours. He sent her to the people of Makkah who had some Muslims prisoners in their hands. MuwataMalik-017-001-35427Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya Ibn Said from Amr Ibn Kathir Ibn Aflah from Abu Muhammad; the mawla of Abu Qatada that Abu Qatada Ibn Ribi said; We went out with the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; in the year of Hunayn. When the armies met; the Muslims were put in disarray. I saw a man from the idol worshippers who had got the better of one of the Muslims; so I circled round and came up behind him; and struck him with a sword on his shoulder-blade. He turned to me and grabbed me so hard that I felt the smell of death in it. Then death overcame him; and he let go of me. He continued; I met Umar Ibn AlKhattab and said to him; What going on with the people? He replied; The Command of Allah. Then the people took hold of the battle and the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Whoever has killed one of the dead and can prove it; can strip him of his personal effects. I stood up and said; Who will testify for me? and then I sat down. The Messenger of Allah repeated; Whoever has killed one of the dead and can prove it; can strip him of his personal effects. I stood up and said; Who will testify for me? then I sat down. Then he repeated his statement a third time; so I stood up; and the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; What the matter with you; Abu Qatada? So I related my story to him. A man said; He has spoken the truth; Messenger of Allah. I have the effects of that slain person with me; so give him compensation for it; Messenger of Allah. Abu Bakr said; No; by Allah! He did not intend that one of the lions of Allah should fight for Allah and His Messenger and then give you his spoils. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; He has spoken the truth; hand it over to him. He gave it to me; and I sold the breast-plate and I bought a garden in the area of the Banu Salima with the money. It was my first property; and I acquired it in Islam. The Chapter on Truth And Hypocrisy Punishment in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Divorce in Muwata Malik
