SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5159Narrated Abu Salama Bin Abdulrahman I asked Abu Saeed AlKhudri; Did you hear Allah Messenger ﷺ talking about the Night of Qadr? He replied in the affirmative and said; Once we were in Itikaf with Allah Messenger ﷺ in the middle ten days of Ramadan and we came out of it in the morning of the twentieth; and Allah Messenger ﷺ delivered a sermon on the 20th of Ramadan and said; I was informed of the date of the Night of Qadr in my dream but had forgotten it. So; look for it in the odd nights of the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan. I saw myself prostrating in mud and water on that night as a sign of the Night of Qadr. So; whoever had been in Itikaf with Allah Messenger ﷺ should return for it. The people returned to the Masjid for Itikaf. There was no trace of clouds in the sky. But all of a sudden a cloud came and it rained. Then the prayer was established they stood for the prayer and Allah Messenger ﷺ prostrated in mud and water and I saw mud over the forehead and the nose of the Prophet. The Chapter on Ramadan And Fasting Prostrating On Mud in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Coming out of Itikaf in the morning of the twentieth of Ramadan in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5172Narrated Abu Salama: I asked Abu Said; and he was a friend of mine; about the Night of Qadr and he said; We practiced Itikaf seclusion in the Masjid in the middle third of the month of Ramadan with the Prophet ﷺ. In the morning of the 20th of Ramadan; the Prophet ﷺ came and addressed us and said; I was informed of the date of the Night of Qadr but I was caused to forget it; so search for it in the odd nights of the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan. In the dream I saw myself prostrating in mud and water as a sign. So; whoever was in Itikaf with me should return to it with me for another 10-day period ; and we returned. At that time there was no sign of clouds in the sky but suddenly a cloud came and it rained till rainwater started leaking through the roof of the Masjid which was made of date-palm leaf stalks. Then the prayer was established and I saw Allah Messenger ﷺ prostrating in mud and water and I saw the traces of mud on his forehead. The Chapter on Ramadan And Fasting Prostrating On Mud in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on To look for the night of Qadr in the last seven nights of Ramadan in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5179Narrated Ubada Bin AlSamit: The Prophet ﷺ came out to inform us about the Night of Qadr but two Muslims were quarreling with each other. So; the Prophet ﷺ said; I came out to inform you about the Night of Qadr but such-and-such persons were quarreling; so the news about it had been taken away; yet that might be for your own good; so search for it on the 29th; 27th and 25th of Ramadan. The Chapter on Truth And Hypocrisy And Hypocrites Character in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The knowledge of the night of Qadr was taken away because of the quarrelling in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-781Narrated Abu Salama: Once I went to Abu Saeed AlKhudri and asked him; Wont you come with us to the date-palm trees to have a talk? So Abu Saeed went out and I asked him; Tell me what you heard from the Prophet ﷺ about the Night of Qadr. Abu Saeed replied; Once Allah Messenger ﷺ performed Itikaf seclusion on the first ten days of the month of Ramadan and we did the same with him. Gabriel came to him and said; The night you are looking for is ahead of you. So the Prophet ﷺ performed the Itikaf in the middle second ten days of the month of Ramadan and we too performed Itikaf with him. Gabriel came to him and said; The night which you are looking for is ahead of you. In the morning of the 20th of Ramadan the Prophet ﷺ delivered a sermon saying; Whoever has performed Itikaf with me should continue it. I have been shown the Night of Qadr; but have forgotten its date; but it is in the odd nights of the last ten nights. I saw in my dream that I was prostrating in mud and water. In those days the roof of the Masjid was made of branches of date-palm trees. At that time the sky was clear and no cloud was visible; but suddenly a cloud came and it rained. The Prophet ﷺ led us in the prayer and I saw the traces of mud on the forehead and on the nose of Allah Messenger ﷺ. So it was the confirmation of that dream. The Chapter on Ramadan And Fasting Prostrating On Mud in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on To prostrate on the nose and in the mud in Sahih AlBukhari
