SahihAlBukhari-017-001-307		Narrated Anas Bin Malik: Allah Messenger ﷺ said; When Allahs slave is put in his grave and his companions return and he even hears their footsteps; two angels come to him and make him sit and ask; What did you use to say about this man i.e. Muhammad ? The faithful Believer will say; I testify that he is Allah slave and His Apostle. Then they will say to him; Look at your place in the Hell Fire; Allah has given you a place in Paradise instead of it. So he will see both his places. Qatada said; We were informed that his grave would be made spacious. Then Qatada went back to the narration of Anas who said; Whereas a hypocrite or a non-believer will be asked; What did you use to say about this man. He will reply; I do not know; but I used to say what the people used to say. So they will say to him; Neither did you know nor did you take the guidance by reciting the Quran. SahihMuslim-017-001-18408		It is reported on the authority of Qatada that one among the delegates of the Abd AlQais tribe narrated this tradition to him. Saeed said that Qatada had mentioned the name of Abu Nadra on the authority of Abu Saeed Khudri who narrated this tradition: That people from the- tribe of Abd AlQais came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: Messenger of Allah; we belong to the tribe of Rabia and there live between you and us the unbelievers of the Mudar tribe and we find it impossible to come to you except in the sacred months; direct us to a deed which we must communicate to those who have been left behind us and by doing which we may enter heaven. Upon this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I enjoin upon you four things and forbid you to do four things : worship Allah and associate none with Him; establish prayer; pay Zakat; and observe the fast of Ramadan; and pay the fifth part out of the booty. And I prohibit you from four things : dry gourds; green-coloured jars; hollowed stumps of palm-trees; and receptacles. They the members of the delegation said: Do you know what Alnaqir is? He replied: Yes; it is a stump which you hollow out and in which you throw small dates. Saeed said: He the Holy Prophet used the word tamar dates. The Prophet then added : Then you sprinkle water over it and when its ebullition subsides; you drink it and you are so intoxicated that one amongst you; or one amongst them the other members of your tribe; who were not present there strikes his cousin with the sword. He the narrator said: There was a man amongst us who had sustained injury on this very account due to intoxication ; and he told that he tried to conceal it out of shame from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I; however; inquired from the Messenger of Allah it we discard those utensils which you have forbidden us to use ; then what type of vessels should be used for drink? He the Holy Prophet replied: In the waterskin the mouths of which are tied with a string. They again said: Prophet of Allah; our land abounds in rats and water-skins cannot remain preserved. The holy Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: Drink in water-skins even if these arenibbled by rats. And then addressing AlAshajj of Abd AlQais he said: Verily; you possess two such qualities which Allah loves: insight and deliberateness. SahihMuslim-017-001-23376		Qatada has narrated a hadith like this with another chain of transmitters. In the hadith transmitted by Jarir on the authority of Sulaiman; Qatada further words are: When the Quran is recited in prayer ; you should observe silence; and the following words are not found in the hadith narrated by anyone except by Abu Kamil who heard it from Abu Awina and the words are : Verily Allah vouchsafed through the tongue of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ this: Allah listens to him who praises Him. Abu Ishaq a student of Imam Muslim said: Abu Bakr the son of Abu Nadr sister has critically discussed this hadith. Imam Muslim said: Whom can you find a more authentic transmitter of hadith than Sulaiman? Abu Bakr said to him Imam Muslim : What about the hadith narrated by Abu Huraira; i.e. the hadith that when the Quran is recited in prayer observe silence? When the armies met; the Muslims were put in disarray. I saw a man from the idol worshippers who had got the better of one of the Muslims; so I circled round and came up behind him; and struck him with a sword on his shoulder-blade. He turned to me and grabbed me so hard that I felt the smell of death in it. Then death overcame him; and he let go of me. He continued; I met Umar Ibn AlKhattab and said to him; What going on with the people? He replied; The Command of Allah. Then the people took hold of the battle and the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Whoever has killed one of the dead and can prove it; can strip him of his personal effects. I stood up and said; Who will testify for me? and then I sat down. The Messenger of Allah repeated; Whoever has killed one of the dead and can prove it; can strip him of his personal effects. I stood up and said; Who will testify for me? then I sat down. Then he repeated his statement a third time; so I stood up; and the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; What the matter with you; Abu Qatada? So I related my story to him. A man said; He has spoken the truth; Messenger of Allah. I have the effects of that slain person with me; so give him compensation for it; Messenger of Allah. Abu Bakr said; No; by Allah! He did not intend that one of the lions of Allah should fight for Allah and His Messenger and then give you his spoils. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; He has spoken the truth; hand it over to him. He gave it to me; and I sold the breast-plate and I bought a garden in the area of the Banu Salima with the money. It was my first property; and I acquired it in Islam. When they got to one of the roads to Makka he fell behind with some companions of his who were muhrim; while he was not. Then he saw a wild ass; so he got on his mount and asked his companions to give him his whip but they refused. Then he asked them for his spear and they refused to give it to him. So he took hold of it and attacked the ass and killed it. Some of the companions of the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; ate from it; and others refused. When they had caught up with the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; they asked him about it and he said; It is food that Allah has fed you with. MuwataMalik-017-001-36088		Yahya related to me from Malik from Ishaq Ibn Abdullah Ibn Abi Talha from Humayda bint Abi Ubayda Ibn Farwa that her maternal aunt Kabsha bint Kaab Ibn Malik; who was the wife of the son of Abu Qatada AlAnsari; told her that once Abu Qatada was visiting her and she poured out some water for him to do Ablution with. Just then a cat came to drink from it; so he tilted the vessel towards it to let it drink. Kabsha continued; He saw me looking at him and said; Are you surprised; daughter of my brother? I said; Yes. He replied that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; cats are not impure. They intermingle with you. Yahya said that Malik said; There is no harm in that unless one sees impurities on the cat mouth.
