SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1099 | Narrated Abdullah Bin Umar: I heard Allah Messenger ﷺ while he was standing on the pulpit; saying; The remaining period of your stay on the earth in comparison to the nations before you; is like the period between the Asr prayer and sunset. The people of the Torah were given the Torah and they acted upon it till midday; and then they were worn out and were given for their labor; one Qirat each. Then the people of the Gospel were given the Gospel and they acted upon it till the time of the Asr prayer; and then they were worn out and were given for their labor ; one Qirat each. Then you people were given the Quran and you acted upon it till sunset and so you were given two Qirats each double the reward of the previous nations. Then the people of the Torah said; O our Lord! These people have done a little labor much less than we but have taken a greater reward. Allah said; Have I withheld anything from your reward? They said; No. Then Allah said; That is My Favor which I bestow on whom I wish. | The Chapter on Jihad And Alhajj in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Allahs Wish and Will in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1164 | Narrated Ibn Umar: Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Your stay in this world in comparison to the stay of the nations preceding you; is like the period between Asr prayer and the sun set in comparison to a whole day. The people of the Torah were given the Torah and they acted on it till midday and then they were unable to carry on. And they were given a reward equal to one Qirat each. Then the people of the Gospel were given the Gospel and they acted on it till Asr Prayer and then they were unable to carry on; so they were given la reward equal to one Qirat each. Then you were given the Quran and you acted on it till sunset; therefore you were given a reward equal to two Qirats each. On that; the people of the Scriptures said; These people Muslims did less work than we but they took a bigger reward. Allah said to them. Have I done any oppression to you as regards your rights? They said; No. Then Allah said; That is My Blessing which I grant to whomsoever I will. | The Chapter on Jihad And Alhajj in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Say Bring here the Taurat and recite it in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1583 | Narrated Ibn Umar: A Jew and a Jewess were brought to Allah Messenger ﷺ on a charge of committing an illegal sexual intercourse. The Prophet ﷺ asked them. What is the legal punishment for this sin in your Book Torah ? They replied; Our priests have innovated the punishment of blackening the faces with charcoal and Tajbiya. Abdullah Bin Salam said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; tell them to bring the Torah. The Torah was brought; and then one of the Jews put his hand over the Divine Verse of the Rajam stoning to death and started reading what preceded and what followed it. On that; Ibn Salam said to the Jew; Lift up your hand. Behold! The Divine Verse of the Rajam was under his hand. So Allah Apostle ordered that the two sinners be stoned to death; and so they were stoned. Ibn Umar added: So both of them were stoned at the Balat and I saw the Jew sheltering the Jewess. | The Chapter on Fornication And Adultery In Jewish Law in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The Rajm at the Balat in Sahih AlBukhari

Allah Messenger ﷺ said to them; What do you find in the Torah regarding the Rajam? They replied; We only disgrace and flog them with stripes. Abdullah Bin Salam said to them; You have told a lie the penalty of Rajam is in the Torah. They brought the Torah and opened it. One of them put his hand over the verse of the Rajam and read what was before and after it. Abdullah Bin Salam said to him; Lift up your hand. Where he lifted it there appeared the verse of the Rajam. So they said; O Muhammad! He has said the truth; the verse of the Rajam is in it Torah. And then the people of the Gospel were given the Gospel and they acted upon it till the Asr prayer then they were exhausted and were! given one Qirat each. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5399 | Narrated Ata Bin Yasar: I met Abdullah Bin Amr Bin AlAs and asked him; Tell me about the description of Allah Messenger ﷺ which is mentioned in Torah i.e. Old Testament. He replied; Yes. By Allah; he is described in Torah with some of the qualities attributed to him in the Quran as follows: O Prophet ! We have sent you as a witness for Allah True religion And a giver of glad tidings to the faithful believers ; And a warner to the unbelievers And guardian of the illiterates. You are My slave and My messenger i.e. Apostle. I have named you AlMutawakkil who depends upon Allah. You are neither discourteous; harsh Nor a noisemaker in the markets And you do not do evil to those Who do evil to you; but you deal With them with forgiveness and kindness. Allah will not let him the Prophet Die till he makes straight the crooked people by making them say: None has the right to be worshipped but Allah; With which will be opened blind eyes And deaf ears and enveloped hearts. | The Chapter on Worship And Forbidden Acts in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The dislike of raising voices in the market in Sahih AlBukhari

The Prophet ﷺ said to them; How do you usually punish the one amongst you who has committed illegal sexual intercourse? They replied; We blacken their faces with coal and beat them; He said; Dont you find the order of AlRajm i.e. stoning to death in the Torah? They replied; We do not find anything in it. Abdullah Bin Salam after hearing this conversation said to them. You have told a lie! Bring here the Torah and recite it if you are truthful. So the Jews brought the Torah. And the religious teacher who was teaching it to them; put his hand over the Verse of AlRajm and started reading what was written above and below the place hidden with his hand; but he did not read the Verse of AlRajm. Abdullah Bin Salam removed his i.e. the teachers hand from the Verse of AlRajm and said; What is this? So when the Jews saw that Verse; they said; This is the Verse of AlRajm. So the Prophet ﷺ ordered the two adulterers to be stoned to death; and they were stoned to death near the place where biers used to be placed near the Masjid. I saw her companion i.e. the adulterer bowing over her so as to protect her from the stones. | The Chapter on Fornication And Adultery In Jewish Law in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prophetic Commentary on the Quran Tafseer of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari |

SahihMuslim-017-001-17390 | Abdullah Bin Umar reported that a Jew and a Jewess were brought to Allah Messenger ﷺ who had committed adultery. Allah Messenger ﷺ came to the Jews and said: What do you find in Torah for one who commits adultery? They said: We darken their faces and make them ride on the donkey with their faces turned to the opposite direction and their backs touching each other ; and then they are taken round the city. He said: Bring Torah if you are truthful. They brought it and recited it until when they came to the verse pertaining to stoning; the person who was reading placed his hand on the verse pertaining to stoning; and read only that which was between his hands and what was subsequent to that. Abdullah Bin Salim who was at that time with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Command him the reciter to lift his hand. He lifted it and there was; underneath that; the verse pertaining to stoning. Allah Messenger ﷺ pronounced judgment about both of them and they were stoned. Abdullah Bin Umar said: I was one of those who stoned them; and I saw him the Jew protecting her the Jewess with his body. | The Chapter on Fornication And Adultery In Jewish Law in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 6 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-17393 | AlBara Bin Azib reported: There happened to pass by Allah Apostle ﷺ a Jew blackened and lashed. Allah Apostle ﷺ called them the Jews and said: Is this the punishment that you find in your Book Torah as a prescribed punishment for adultery? They said: Yes. He the Holy Prophet called one of the scholars amongst them and said: I ask you in the name of Allah Who sent down the Torah on Moses if that is the prescribed punishment for adultery that you find in your Book. He said: No. Had you not asked me in the name of Allah; I would not have given you this information. We find stoning to death as punishment prescribed in the Torah. But this crime became quite common amongst our aristocratic class. So when we caught hold of any rich person indulging in this offence we spared him; but when we caught hold of a helpless person we imposed the prescribed punishment upon him. We then said: Let us argree on a punishment which we can inflict both upon the rich and the poor. So We decided to blacken the face with coal and flog as a substitute punishment for stoning. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: O Allah; I am the first to revive Thy command when they had made it dead. He then commanded and he the offender was stoned to death. Allah; the Majestic and Glorious; sent down this verse : O Messenger; the behaviour of those who vie with one another in denying the truth should not grieve you... up to is vouchsafed unto you; accept it v. 41 2176 It was said by the Jews : Go to Muhammad; it he commands you to blacken the face and award flogging as punishment for adultery ; then accept it; but it he gives verdict for stoning; then avoid it. It was then that Allah; the Majestic and Great; sent down these verses : And they who do not judge in accordance with what Allah has revealed are; indeed; deniers of the truth v. 44 ; And they who do not judge in accordance with what Allah has revealed-they; they indeed are the wrongdoers v. 45 ; And they who do not judge in accordance with what God has revealed-they are the iniquitous v. 47. All these verses were revealed in connection with the non-believers. | The Chapter on Fornication And Adultery In Jewish Law in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 6 in Sahih Muslim |

SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-26642 | Ibn Umar said: some jews came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and mentioned to him that a man and a women of their number had committed fornication. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked them: What do you find in the Torah about stoning? They replied: We disgrace them and they should be flogged. Abdullah Bin Salam said: You lie; it contains instruction for stoning. So they brought the Torah and spread it out; and one of them put his hand over the verse of stoning and read what preceded it and what followed it. Abdullah Bin Salam said to him: Lift your hand. When he did so; the verse of stoning was seen to be in it. They then said: He has spoken the truth; Muhammad; the verse of stoning is in it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then gave command regarding them; and they were stoned to death. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-26645 | Narrated Abdullah Ibn Umar: A group of Jews came and invited the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to Quff. So he visited them in their school. They said: AbulQasim; one of our men has committed fornication with a woman; so pronounce judgment upon them. They placed a cushion for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who sat on it and said: Bring the Torah. It was then brought. He then withdrew the cushion from beneath him and placed the Torah on it saying: I believed in thee and in Him Who revealed thee. He then said: Bring me one who is learned among you. Then a young man was brought. The transmitter then mentioned the rest of the tradition of stoning similar to the one transmitted by Malik from Nafi No. 4431. | The Chapter on Premises in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The stoning of the two jews in Sunan Abu Dawoud
SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-26646 | Narrated Abu Huraira: This is Mamar version which is more accurate. A man and a woman of the Jews committed fornication. Some of them said to the others: Let us go to this Prophet; for he has been sent with an easy law. If he gives a judgment lighter than stoning; we shall accept it; and argue about it with Allah; saying: It is a judgment of one of your prophets. So they came to the Prophet ﷺ who was sitting in the Masjid among his companions. They said: AbulQasim; what do you think about a man and a woman who committed fornication? He did not speak to them a word till he went to their school. He stood at the gate and said: I adjure you by Allah Who revealed the Torah to Moses; what punishment do you find in the Torah for a person who commits fornication; if he is married? They said: He shall be blackened with charcoal; taken round a donkey among the people; and flogged. A young man among them kept silent. When the Prophet ﷺ emphatically adjured him; he said: By Allah; since you have adjured us we inform you that we find stoning in the Torah is the punishment for fornication. The Prophet ﷺ said: So when did you lessen the severity of Allah command? He said: A relative of one of our kings had committed fornication; but his stoning was suspended. Then a man of a family of common people committed fornication. He was to have been stoned; but his people intervened and said: Our man shall not be stoned until you bring your man and stone him. So they made a compromise on this punishment between them. The Prophet ﷺ said: So I decide in accordance with what the Torah says. He then commanded regarding them and they were stoned to death. AlZuhri said: We have been informed that this verse was revealed about them: It was We Who revealed the Law to Moses : therein was guidance and light. By its standard have been judged the Jews; by the Prophet who bowed as in Islam to Allah will. | The Chapter on Fornication And Adultery In Jewish Law in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The stoning of the two jews in Sunan Abu Dawoud
SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-28644 | Abu Huraira said: The holy Prophet ﷺ said to the Jew : I adjure you by Allah Who sent down the Torah to Moses ! do you not find in the Torah a rule about a man who commits adultery. He then narrated the rest of the tradition relating to the stoning. | The Chapter on Fornication And Adultery In Jewish Law in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on How should a dhimmi be asked to swear an oath in Sunan Abu Dawoud |

MuwataMalik-017-001-34767 | Malik related to me from Nafi that Abdullah Ibn Umar said; The Jews came to the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and mentioned to him that a man and woman from among them had committed adultery. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; asked them; What do you find in the Torah about stoning? They said; We make their wrong action known and flog them. Abdullah Ibn Salam said; You have lied! It has stoning for it; so bring the Torah. They spread it out and one of them placed his hand over the ayat of stoning. Then he read what was before it and what was after it. Abdullah Ibn Salam told him to lift his hand. He lifted his hand and there was the ayat of stoning. They said; He has spoken the truth; Muhammad. The ayat of stoning is in it. So the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; gave the order and they were stoned. Abdullah Ibn Umar added; I saw the man leaning over the woman to protect her from the stones. Malik commented; By leaning he meant throwing himself over her so that the stones fell on him. | The Chapter on Recitation Of Surat Albaqara in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Purity in Muwata Malik |
