SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2787 | Narrated Abu Qatada: I was with the Prophet on a journey between Mecca and Medina; and all of them; i.e. the Prophet ﷺ and his companions were in the state of Ihram; while I was not in that state. I was riding my horse and I used to be fond of ascending mountains. So while I was doing so I noticed that the people were looking at something. I went to see what it was; and behold it was an onager. I asked my companions; What is that? They said; We do not know. I said; It is an onager. They said; It is what you have seen. I had left my whip; so I said to them; Hand to me my whip. They said; We will not help you in that in hunting the onager. I got down; took my whip and chased the animal on my horse and did not stop till I killed it. I went to them and said; Come on; carry it! But they said; We will not even touch it. At last I alone carried it and brought it to them. Some of them ate of it and some refused to eat of it. I said to them ; I will ask the Prophet ﷺ about it on your behalf. When I met the Prophet; I told him the whole story. He said to me; Has anything of it been left with you? I said; Yes. He said; Eat; for it is a meal Allah has offered to you. | The Chapter on Horses And Ihram in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on To hunt on mountains in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4757 | Narrated Abdullah Bin Abu Qatada AlAslami: That his father said; One day I was sitting with some of the Prophet companions on the way to Mecca. Allah Messenger ﷺ was ahead of us. All of my companions were in the state of Ihram while I was a non-Muhrim. They saw an onager while I was busy repairing my shoes; so they did not tell me about it but they wished I had seen it. By chance I looked up and saw it. So; I turned to the horse; saddled it and rode on it; forgetting to take the spear and the whip. I asked them if they could hand over to me the whip and the spear but they said; No; by Allah; we shall not help you in that in any way. I became angry and got down from the horse; picked up both the things and rode the horse again. I attacked the onager and slaughtered it; and brought it after it had been dead. They took it cooked some of it and started eating it; but they doubted whether it was allowed for them to eat it or not; as they were in the state of Ihram. So; we proceeded and I hid with me one of its fore-legs. When we met Allah Messenger ﷺ and asked him about the case; he asked; Do you have a portion of it with you? I replied in the affirmative and gave him that fleshy foreleg which he ate completely while he was in the state of Ihram. | The Chapter on Horses And Ihram in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Whoever asks his friends to grant him a gift in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5509 | Narrated Abu Qatada: We were in the company of the Prophet ﷺ at a place called AlQaha which is at a distance of three stages of journey from Medina. Abu Qatada narrated through another group of narrators: We were in the company of the Prophet ﷺ at a place called AlQaha and some of us had assumed Ihram while the others had not. I noticed that some of my companions were watching something; so I looked up and saw an onager. I rode my horse and took the spear and whip but my whip fell down and I asked them to pick it up for me but they said; We will not help you by any means as we are in a state of Ihram. So; I picked up the whip myself and attacked the onager from behind a hillock and slaughtered it and brought it to my companions. Some of them said; Eat it. While some others said; Do not eat it. So; I went to the Prophet ﷺ who was ahead of us and asked him about it; He replied; Eat it as it is Halal i.e. it is legal to eat it. | The Chapter on Horses And Ihram in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on A Muhrim should not help a nonMuhrim in the hunting of a game in Sahih AlBukhari |

My father came near him; he was riding his camel. He stopped there and listened to him. He had a whip like the whip of the teachers. I heard the Bedouin and the people saying: Keep away from the whip. My father came up to him. He caught hold of his foot and acknowledged him his Prophethood. He stopped and listened to him. He then said: I participated in the army of Athran in the pre-Islamic days. The narrator; Ibn AlMuthanna; said: Army of Gathran. Tariq Ibn AlMuraqqa said: Who will give me a lance and get a reward? I asked: What is its reward? He replied: I shall marry him to my first daughter born to me. He swore that he would not do that until I fixed a dower afresh other than that agreed between me and him; and I swore that I should not give him the dower other than that I had given him before. MuwataMalik-017-001-34778 | Malik related to me from Zayd Ibn Aslam that a man confessed to fornication in the time of the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; called for a whip; and he was brought a broken whip. He said; Above this; and he was brought a new whip whose knots had not been cut yet. He said; Below this; and he was brought a whip which had been used and made flexible. The Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; gave the order and he was flogged. Then he said; People! The time has come for you to observe the limits of Allah. Whoever has had any of these ugly things befall him should cover them up with the veil of Allah. Whoever reveals to us his wrong action; we perform what is in the Book of Allah against him. | The Chapter on Fornication And Adultery And Flogging in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Knowledge in Muwata Malik |
