Thou didst say to one who had received the grace of Allah and thy favour: "Retain thou (in wedlock) thy wife, and fear Allah." But thou didst hide in thy heart that which Allah was about to make manifest: thou didst fear the people, but it is more fitting that thou shouldst fear Allah. Then when Zaid had dissolved (his marriage) with her, with the necessary (formality), We joined her in marriage to thee: in order that (in future) there may be no difficulty to the Believers in (the matter of) marriage with the wives of their adopted sons, when the latter have dissolved with the necessary (formality) (their marriage) with them. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1288 | Narrated Zaid Bin Thabit: Abu Bakr sent for me owing to the large number of casualties in the battle of AlYamama; while Umar was sitting with him. Abu Bakr said to me ; Umar has come to my and said; A great number of Qaris of the Holy Quran were killed on the day of the battle of AlYamama; and I am afraid that the casualties among the Qaris of the Quran may increase on other battle-fields whereby a large part of the Quran may be lost. Therefore I consider it advisable that you Abu Bakr should have the Quran collected. I said; How dare I do something which Allah Messenger ﷺ did not do? Umar said; By Allah; it is something beneficial. Umar kept on pressing me for that till Allah opened my chest for that for which He had opened the chest of Umar and I had in that matter; the same opinion as Umar had. Abu Bakr then said to me Zaid ; You are a wise young man and we do not have any suspicion about you; and you used to write the Divine Inspiration for Allah Messenger ﷺ. So you should search for the fragmentary scripts of the Quran and collect it in one Book. Zaid further said: By Allah; if Abu Bakr had ordered me to shift a mountain among the mountains from one place to another it would not have been heavier for me than this ordering me to collect the Quran. Then I said to Umar and Abu Bakr ; How can you do something which Allah Messenger ﷺ did not do? Abu Bakr said; By Allah; it is something beneficial. Zaid added: So he Abu Bakr kept on pressing me for that until Allah opened my chest for that for which He had opened the chests of Abu Bakr and Umar; and I had in that matter; the same opinion as theirs. So I started compiling the Quran by collecting it from the leafless stalks of the date-palm tree and from the pieces of leather and hides and from the stones; and from the chests of men who had memorized the Quran. I found the last verses of Surat AlTauba: Verily there has come unto you an Apostle Muhammad from amongst yourselves- 9.128-129 from Khuzaima or Abi Khuzaima and I added to it the rest of the Sura. The manuscripts of the Quran remained with Abu Bakr till Allah took him unto Him. Then it remained with Umar till Allah took him unto Him; and then with Hafsa bint Umar. | The Chapter on Lost And Found And Alquran in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on It is desirable that a scribe should be honest and wise in Sahih AlBukhari

Zaid said; I do not run except from Allah Anger; and I will never bear a bit of it if I have the power to avoid it. Can you tell me of some other religion? He said; I do not know any other religion except the Hanif. Zaid enquired; What is Hanif? He said; Hanif is the religion of the prophet Abraham who was neither a Jew nor a Christian; and he used to worship None but Allah Alone Then Zaid went out and met a Christian religious scholar and told him the same as before. The Christian said; You will not embrace our religion unless you get a share of Allah Curse. Zaid replied; I do not run except from Allah Curse; and I will never bear any of Allah Curse and His Anger if I have the power to avoid them. Will you tell me of some other religion? SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4874 | Narrated AlBara: When the Prophet ﷺ intended to perform Umra in the month of Dh AlQada; the people of Mecca did not let him enter Mecca till he settled the matter with them by promising to stay in it for three days only. When the document of treaty was written; the following was mentioned: These are the terms on which Muhammad; Allah Messenger ﷺ agreed to make peace. They said; We will not agree to this; for if we believed that you are Allah Messenger ﷺ we would not prevent you; but you are Muhammad Bin Abdullah. The Prophet ﷺ said; I am Allah Messenger ﷺ and also Muhammad Bin Abdullah. Then he said to Ali; Rub off the words Allah Messenger ﷺ ; but Ali said; No; by Allah; I will never rub off your name. So; Allah Messenger ﷺ took the document and wrote; This is what Muhammad Bin Abdullah has agreed upon: No arms will be brought into Mecca except in their cases; and nobody from the people of Mecca will be allowed to go with him i.e. the Prophet ﷺ even if he wished to follow him and he the Prophet ﷺ will not prevent any of his companions from staying in Mecca if the latter wants to stay. When the Prophet ﷺ entered Mecca and the time limit passed; the Meccans went to Ali and said; Tell your Friend i.e. the Prophet ﷺ to go out; as the period agreed to has passed. So; the Prophet ﷺ went out of Mecca. The daughter of Hamza ran after them i.e. the Prophet ﷺ and his companions ; calling; O Uncle! O Uncle! Ali received her and led her by the hand and said to Fatima; Take your uncle daughter. Zaid and Jafar quarreled about her. Ali said; I have more right to her as she is my uncle daughter. Jafar said; She is my uncle daughter; and her aunt is my wife. Zaid said; She is my brother daughter. The Prophet ﷺ judged that she should be given to her aunt; and said that the aunt was like the mother. He then said to All; You are from me and I am from you; and said to Jafar; You resemble me both in character and appearance; and said to Zaid; You are our brother in faith and our freed slave. | The Chapter on Makkah And Almadinah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on How to write re conciliation in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6590 | Narrated AlBara: When the Prophet ﷺ went out for the Umra in the month of Dhal-Qada; the people of Mecca did not allow him to enter Mecca till he agreed to conclude a peace treaty with them by virtue of which he would stay in Mecca for three days only in the following year. When the agreement was being written; the Muslims wrote: This is the peace treaty; which Muhammad; Apostle of Allah has concluded. The infidels said to the Prophet ; We do not agree with you on this; for if we knew that you are Apostle of Allah we would not have prevented you for anything i.e. entering Mecca; etc. ; but you are Muhammad; the son of Abdullah. Then he said to Ali; Erase the name of Apostle of Allah. Ali said; No; by Allah; I will never erase you i.e. your name. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ took the writing sheet...and he did not know a better writing..and he wrote or got it the following written! This is the peace treaty which Muhammad; the son of Abdullah; has concluded: Muhammad should not bring arms into Mecca except sheathed swords; and should not take with him any person of the people of Mecca even if such a person wanted to follow him; and if any of his companions wants to stay in Mecca; he should not forbid him. In the next year when the Prophet ﷺ entered Mecca and the allowed period of stay elapsed; the infidels came to Ali and said Tell your companion Muhammad to go out; as the allowed period of his stay has finished. So the Prophet ﷺ departed from Mecca and the daughter of Hamza followed him shouting O Uncle; O Uncle! Ali took her by the hand and said to Fatima; Take the daughter of your uncle. So she made her ride on her horse. When they reached Medina Ali; Zaid and Jafar quarreled about her. Ali said; I took her for she is the daughter of my uncle. Jafar said; She is the daughter of my uncle and her aunt is my wife. Zaid said; She is the daughter of my brother. On that; the Prophet ﷺ gave her to her aunt and said; The aunt is of the same status as the mother. He then said to Ali; You are from me; and I am from you; and said to Jafar; You resemble me in appearance and character; and said to Zaid; You are our brother and our freed slave. He Abu Bakr said: Umar came to me and said: The fighting inflicted many casualties among the reciters of the Quran on the Day of AlYamamah; and I fear that there will be more casualties among the reciters in other parts of the land; such that much of the Quran may be lost. In my view; you should order that the Quran be collected. Abu Bakr said to Umar: How can I do something which was not done my the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ? Umar said: By Allah! It is something good. Umar continued trying to convince me until Allah opened up my chest to that which He had opened the chest of Umar; and I saw it as he saw it. Zaid said: Abu Bakr said: You are a young wise man; and we have no suspicions of you. You used to write down the Revelation for the Messenger of Allah as the Quran was revealed. He Zaid said: By Allah! If they had ordered to move one of the mountains it would have been lighter on me than that. He said: I said: How will you do something which was not done by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ? Abu Bakr said: By Allah! It is something good. So I began searching for Quranic material from parchments; leaf stalks of date-palms and AlLikhaf - meaning stones - and the chests of men. I found the end of Surah Baraah with Khuzaimah Bin Thabit: Verily; there has come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. It grieves him that you should receive any injury or difficulty.
