Banquet In Sahih AlBukhari

Hadith PageArabic TextEnglish TranslationBook and Chapter
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1415Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: Some angels came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was sleeping. Some of them said; He is sleeping. Others said; His eyes are sleeping but his heart is awake. Then they said; There is an example for this companion of yours. One of them said; Then set forth an example for him. Some of them said; He is sleeping. The others said; His eyes are sleeping but his heart is awake. Then they said; His example is that of a man who has built a house and then offered therein a banquet and sent an inviter messenger to invite the people. So whoever accepted the invitation of the inviter; entered the house and ate of the banquet; and whoever did not accept the invitation of the inviter; did not enter the house; nor did he eat of the banquet. Then the angels said; Interpret this example to him so that he may understand it. Some of them said; He is sleeping. The others said; His eyes are sleeping but his heart is awake. And then they said; The houses stands for Paradise and the call maker is Muhammad; and whoever obeys Muhammad; obeys Allah; and whoever disobeys Muhammad; disobeys Allah. Muhammad separated the people i.e.; through his message; the good is distinguished from the bad; and the believers from the disbelievers. The Chapter on Entering in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Following the Sunna of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari

I invited the Muslims to a banquet which included neither meat nor bread. The Prophet ﷺ ordered for the leather dining sheets to be spread; and then dates; dried yogurt and butter were provided over it; and that was the Walima banquet of the Prophet. The Muslims asked whether Safiya would be considered as his wife or as a slave girl of what his right hands possessed. Then they said; If the Prophet ﷺ screens her from the people; then she Is the Prophet wife but if he does not screen her; then she is a slave girl. So when the Prophet ﷺ proceeded; he made a place for her on the camel behind him and screened her from people. The Chapter on Food And Invitations in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Consummation of marriage during a journey in Sahih AlBukhari

I was sent to invite the people to the banquet ; and so the people started coming in groups ; They would eat and then leave. Another batch would come; eat and leave. So I kept on inviting the people till I found nobody to invite. Then I said; O Allah Prophet! I do not find anybody to invite. He said; Carry away the remaining food. Then a batch of three persons stayed in the house chatting. The Prophet ﷺ left and went towards the dwelling place of Aisha and said; Peace and Allah Mercy be on you; O the people of the house! She replied; Peace and the mercy of Allah be on you too. How did you find your wife? May Allah bless you. Then he went to the dwelling places of all his other wives and said to them the same as he said to Aisha and they said to him the same as Aisha had said to him. Then the Prophet ﷺ returned and found a group of three persons still in the house chatting. The Prophet was a very shy person; so he went out for the second time and went towards the dwelling place of Aisha. I do not remember whether I informed him that the people have gone away. So he returned and as soon as he entered the gate; he drew the curtain between me and him; and then the Verse of AlHijab was revealed. The Chapter on Good Manners And Merci in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prophetic Commentary on the Quran Tafseer of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari
