SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1618 | Narrated Aisha: The commencement of the Divine Inspiration to Allah Messenger ﷺ was in the form of good righteous true dreams in his sleep. He never had a dream but that it came true like bright day light. He used to go in seclusion the cave of Hira where he used to worship Allah Alone continuously for many days nights. He used to take with him the journey food for that stay and then come back to his wife Khadija to take his food like-wise again for another period to stay; till suddenly the Truth descended upon him while he was in the cave of Hira. The angel came to him in it and asked him to read. The Prophet ﷺ replied; I do not know how to read. The Prophet ﷺ added ; The angel caught me forcefully and pressed me so hard that I could not bear it anymore. He then released me and again asked me to read; and I replied; I do not know how to read; whereupon he caught me again and pressed me a second time till I could not bear it anymore. He then released me and asked me again to read; but again I replied; I do not know how to read or; what shall I read?. Thereupon he caught me for the third time and pressed me and then released me and said; Read: In the Name of your Lord; Who has created all that exists. Has created man from a clot. Read and Your Lord is Most Generous...up to.......that which he knew not. 96.15 Then Allah Messenger ﷺ returned with the Inspiration; his neck muscles twitching with terror till he entered upon Khadija and said; Cover me! Cover me! They covered him till his fear was over and then he said; O Khadija; what is wrong with me? Then he told her everything that had happened and said; I fear that something may happen to me. Khadija said; Never! But have the glad tidings; for by Allah; Allah will never disgrace you as you keep good reactions with your Kith and kin; speak the truth; help the poor and the destitute; serve your guest generously and assist the deserving; calamityafflicted ones. Khadija then accompanied him to her cousin Waraqa Bin Nawfal Bin Asad Bin Abdul Uzza Bin Qusai. Waraqa was the son of her paternal uncle; i.e.; her father brother; who during the Pre-Islamic Period became a Christian and used to write the Arabic writing and used to write of the Gospels in Arabic as much as Allah wished him to write. He was an old man and had lost his eyesight. Khadija said to him; O my cousin! Listen to the story of your nephew. Waraqa asked; O my nephew! What have you seen? The Prophet ﷺ described whatever he had seen. Waraqa said; This is the same Namus i.e.; Gabriel; the Angel who keeps the secrets whom Allah had sent to Moses. I wish I were young and could live up to the time when your people would turn you out. Allah Messenger ﷺ asked; Will they turn me out? Waraqa replied in the affirmative and said: Never did a man come with something similar to what you have brought but was treated with hostility. If I should remain alive till the day when you will be turned out then I would support you strongly. But after a few days Waraqa died and the Divine Inspiration was also paused for a while and the Prophet ﷺ became so sad as we have heard that he intended several times to throw himself from the tops of high mountains and every time he went up the top of a mountain in order to throw himself down; Gabriel would appear before him and say; O Muhammad! You are indeed Allah Messenger ﷺ in truth whereupon his heart would become quiet and he would calm down and would return home. And whenever the period of the coming of the inspiration used to become long; he would do as before; but when he used to reach the top of a mountain; Gabriel would appear before him and say to him what he had said before. Ibn Abbas said regarding the meaning of: He it is that Cleaves the daybreak from the darkness 6.96 that AlAsbah. means the light of the sun during the day and the light of the moon at night. | The Chapter on Revelation And Angles in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Commencement of the Divine Revelation to Allahs Messenger was in the form of good dreams in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6059 | Narrated Aisha: the mother of the faithful believers The commencement of the Divine Inspiration to Allah Messenger ﷺ was in the form of good dreams which came true like bright daylight; and then the love of seclusion was bestowed upon him. Then he went to Khadija bint Khuwailid and said; Cover me! Cover me! They covered him till his fear was over and after that he told her everything that had happened and said; I fear that something may happen to me. Khadija replied; Never! By Allah; Allah will never disgrace you. Thereupon he the Holy Prophet said: When you set of your trained dogs having recited the name of Allah; then eat what these hounds have caught for you; even if it the game is killed; provided the hunting dog has not eaten any part of the game. If it has eaten the game ; then you dont eat it as I fear that it might have caught for its own self. But if you find another dog besides it; and you fear that that dog the second one had caught it the game along with that your dog and killed it. then dont eat; for you recited the name of Allah on your dog and did not recite that on the other one which joined your dog incidentally. | The Chapter on Games And Hunting And Hitting Game With Sharp Iron in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 1 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-17614 | Imran Bin Hosain reported that the tribe of Thaqif was the ally of Banu Uqail. Thaqif took two persons from amongst the Companions of Allah Messenger ﷺ as prisoners. The Companions of Allah Messenger ﷺ took one person at Banu Uqail as prisoner; and captured AlAdbi the camel of the Holy Prophet along with him. Allah Messenger ﷺ came to him and he was tied with ropes. He said: Muhammad. He came near him and said: What is the matter with you? Thereupon he the prisoner said: Why have you taken me as prisoner and why have you caught hold of one proceeding the pilgrims the camel as she carried the Prophet on her back and walked ahead of the multitude ? He the Holy Prophet said: Yours is a great fault. I my men have caught hold of you for the crime of your allies; Banu Thaqif. He the Holy Prophet then turned away. He again called him and said: Muhammad; Muhammad; and since Allah Messenger ﷺ was very compassionate; and tenderhearted; he returned to him; and said: What is the matter with you? He said: I am a Muslim; whereupon he the Holy Prophet said: Had you said this when you had been the master of yourself; you would have gained every success. He then turned away. He the prisoner called him again saying: Muhammad; Muhammad. He came to him and said: What is the matter with you? He said: I am hungry; feed me; and I am thirsty; so provide me with drink. He the Holy Prophet said: That is to satisfy your want. He was then ransomed for two persons who had been taken prisoner by Thaqif. He the narrator said: A woman of the Ansar had been taken prisoner and also AlAdbi was caught. The woman had been tied with ropes. The people were giving rest to their animals before their houses. She escaped one night from the bondage and came to the camels. As she drew near the camels; they fretted and fumed and so she left them until she came to Al; Adbi. It did not fret and fume; it was docile She rode upon its back and drove it away and she went off. When they the enemies of Islam were warned of this; they went in search of it; but it the camel exhausted them. She the woman took vow for Allah; that in case He would save her through it; she would offer that as a sacrifice. As she reached Medina; the people saw her and they said: Here is AlAdbi; the camel of Allah Messenger ﷺ. She the woman said that she had taken a vow that if Allah would save her on its back; she would sacrifice it. They the Prophet Companions came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and made a mention of that to him; whereupon he said: Hallowed be Allah; how ill she rewarded it that she took vow to Allah that if He saves her on its back; she would sacrifice it! There is no fulfillment of the vow in an act of disobedience; nor in an act over which a person has no control. In the version of Ibn Hujr the words are : There is no vow in disobedience to Allah. | The Chapter on Camels And Herdsmen And Holiness in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 3 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18132 | It has been narrated on the authority of Salama Bin AlAkwa who said: We marched upon Khaibar with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. We journeyed during the night. One of the people said to my brother Amir Bin AlAkwa: Wont you recite to us some of your verses? Amir was a poet. So he began to chant his verses to urge the camels; reciting: O God; if Thou hadst not guided us We would have neither been guided rightly nor practised charity; Nor offered prayers. We wish to lay down our lives for Thee; so forgive Thou our lapses; And keep us steadfast when we encounter our enemies. Bestow upon us peace and tranquillity. Behold; when with a cry they called upon us to help. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Who is this driver of the camels ? They said: It is Amir. He said: God will show mercy to him. A man said: Martyrdom is reserved for him. Messenger of Allah; would that you had allowed us to benefit ourselves from his life. The narrator says : We reached Khaibar and besieged them; and we continued the siege until extreme hunger afflicted us. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Behold; God has conquered it for you. When it was evening of the day on which the city was conquered. the Muslims lit many fires. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: What are these fires? And what are they cooking? They said: They are cooking meat. He asked. Which meat? They said: That of domestic asses. He said: Let them throw it away and break the pots in which it is being cooked. A man said: Or should they throw it away and wash the pots? He said: They may do that. When the people drew themselves up in battle array Amir caught hold of his sword that was rather short He drove a Jew before him to strike him with it. As he struck him ; his sword recoiled and struck his own knee; and Amir died of the wound. When the people returned after the conquest of Kliaibar and he Salama had caught hold of my hand; and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw that I was silent and dejected ; he said: What the matter with thee? I said to him: My father and my mother be thy ransom; people presume that Amir sacrifice has been in vain. He asked: Who has said that? I said: So and so and Usaid Bin Hudair AlAnsari. He said: Who has said that has lied. For him for Amir there is a double reward. He indicated this by putting two of his fingers together. He was a devotee of God and a warrior fighting for His cause. There will be hardly any Arab who can fight as bravely as he did. Qutaiba has differed in a few words. | The Chapter on Horses And Khaiber in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 43 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-21039 | Hudhaifa reported: When we attended a dinner along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ we did not lay our hands on the food until Allah Messenger ﷺ had laid his hand and commenced eating the food. Once we went with him to a dinner when a girl came rushingly as it someone had been pursuing her. She was about to lay her hand on the food; when Allah Messenger ﷺ caught her hand. Then a desert Arab came there rushingly as if someone had been pursuing him. He the Holy Prophet caught his hand; and then Allah Messenger ﷺ said: Satan considers that food lawful on which Allah name is not mentioned. He had brought this girl so that the food might be made lawful for him and I caught her hand. And he had brought a desert Arab so that the food might be lawful for him. So I caught his hand. By Him; in Whose hand is my life; it was Satans hand that was in my hand along with her hand. | The Chapter on Hand Gestures Raising The Hands in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 13 in Sahih Muslim |

SunanAlTermithi-017-001-10190 | Zaid Bin Arqam said: We were participating in a battle along with the Messenger of Allah; and there were some people from the Bedouins with us. So we all rushed toward some water and the Bedouins raced us to it. One of the Bedouins beat his companions to it and he tried to obstruct the pond; he placed rocks around it and he put a leather sheet over it until his companions came. He said: A man among the Ansar reached the Bedouin and he dropped the reigns of his camel to drink; but the Bedouin would not allow him. So he started removing the barriers around the water; but the Bedouin raised a stick beating the Ansari man on the head; and smashed it. He went to Abdullah Bin Ubay; the head of the hypocrite; to inform him he was in fact one of his companions. So Abdullah Bin Ubay became enraged; the he said: Do not spend anything on whoever is with Muhammad until they depart. Meaning the Bedouins. They were preparing food for the Messenger of Allah. So Abdullah said: When they depart from Muhammad; then bring Muhammad some food; and let him and whoever is with him eat it. Then he said to his companions: If we return to AlMadinah; indeed the more honorable will expel therefrom the meaner. Zaid said: And I was riding behind the Messenger of Allah; and I had heard Abdullah Bin Ubay; so I informed my uncle who went to tell the Messenger of Allah. He sent a message to him Abdullah but he took an oath and denied it. He said: So the Messenger of Allah accepted what he said and did not believe me. So my uncle came to me and said: You only wanted the Messenger of Allah to hate you; and the Muslims to say that you lied. He said: I suffered such worry as has not been suffered by anyone else. He said: Later while I was on the move with the Messenger of Allah on a journey; my mind was relieved of worry; since the Messenger of Allah came to me and rubbed my ear and smiled in my face. I would never be happier than with that as long as the world remained. Then Abu Bakr caught up to me; and said: What did the Messenger of Allah say to you? I said: He did not say anything to me; he only rubbed my ear and smiled in my face. He said: Receive the good news! Then Umar caught up with me and I said the same to him as I had said to Abu Bakr. He said: So I caught her; and she swore that she would not return; so I released her. He went to the Prophet ﷺ and he said: What did your captive do? He said: She swore not to return. He said: She has lied; and she will come again to lie. He said: I caught her another time and she swore that she would not return; so I released her; and went to the Prophet ﷺ. I saw; Messenger of Allah; that you caught hold of it and ascended by it. Then another man caught hold of it and ascended it. Then another man caught hold of it and ascended it. Then another man caught hold of it; but it broke; and then it was joined and he ascended it. Abu Bakr said: May my parents be sacrificed for you; if you allow; I shall interpret it. He said: Interpret it. He said: The piece of cloud is the cloud of Islam; the ghee and honey that were dropping from it are the Quran; which contains softness and sweetness. Those who received much or little of it are those who learn much or little of the Quran. The rope hanging from Heaven to Earth is the truth which you are following. You catch hold of it and then Allah will raise you to Him. Then another man will catch hold of it and ascend it; Then another man will catch hold of it and it will break. But it will be joined and he will ascend it. Tell me. Messenger of Allah; whether I am right or wrong. He said: You are partly right and partly wrong. He said: I adjure you by Allah; you should tell me where I am wrong. The Prophet ﷺ said: Do not take an oath. | The Chapter on Games And Hunting And Alquran in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The Caliphs in Sunan Abu Dawoud
