It was made legal for me to fight in it for a few hours of the day. None is allowed to uproot its thorny shrubs or to cut its trees or to chase its game or to pick up its fallen things except by a person who announces it publicly. On that AlAbbas said to the Prophet ; Except AlIdhkhir for our goldsmiths and for our graves. And so the Prophet ﷺ added; Except AlIdhkhir. And Abu Huraira narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said; Except AlIdhkhir for our graves and houses. And Ibn Abbas said; For their goldsmiths and houses. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4966		Narrated Abu Huraira: When Allah gave victory to His Apostle over the people of Mecca; Allah Messenger ﷺ stood up among the people and after glorifying Allah; said; Allah has prohibited fighting in Mecca and has given authority to His Apostle and the believers over it; so fighting was illegal for anyone before me; and was made legal for me for a part of a day; and it will not be legal for anyone after me. Its game should not be chased; its thorny bushes should not be uprooted; and picking up its fallen things is not allowed except for one who makes public announcement for it; and he whose relative is murdered has the option either to accept a compensation for it or to retaliate. AlAbbas said; Except AlIdhkhir; for we use it in our graves and houses. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Except AlIdhkhir. Abu Shah; a Yemenite; stood up and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Get it written for me. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Write it for Abu Shah. The sub-narrator asked AlAuzai : What did he mean by saying; Get it written; O Allah Apostle? He replied; The speech which he had heard from Allah Messenger ﷺ. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5520		Narrated Ibn Abbas: On the day of the conquest of Mecca; the Prophet ﷺ said; There is no more emigration from Mecca but Jihad and intentions; and whenever you are called for Jihad; you should go immediately. No doubt; Allah has made this place Mecca a sanctuary since the creation of the heavens and the earth and will remain a sanctuary till the Day of Resurrection as Allah has ordained its sanctity. Fighting was not permissible in it for anyone before me; and even for me it was allowed only for a portion of a day. So; it is a sanctuary with Allah sanctity till the Day of Resurrection. Its thorns should not be uprooted and its game should not be chased; and its luqata fallen things should not be picked up except by one who would announce that publicly; and its vegetation grass etc. should not be cut. AlAbbas said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Except AlIdhkhir; for it is used by their blacksmiths and for their domestic purposes. So; the Prophet ﷺ said; Except AlIdhkhir. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6168		Narrated Abu Huraira: In the year of the Conquest of Mecca; the tribe of Khuzaa killed a man from the tribe of Bani Laith in revenge for a killed person; belonging to them. They informed the Prophet ﷺ about it. So he rode his Rahila camel for riding and addressed the people saying; Allah held back the killing from Mecca. The sub-narrator is in doubt whether the Prophet ﷺ said elephant or killing; as the Arabic words standing for these words have great similarity in shape ; but He Allah let His Apostle and the believers over power the infidels of Mecca. Beware! Mecca is a sanctuary Verily! Fighting in Mecca was not permitted for anyone before me nor will it be permitted for anyone after me. It war in it was made legal for me for few hours or so on that day. No doubt it is at this moment a sanctuary; it is not allowed to uproot its thorny shrubs or to uproot its trees or to pick up its Luqat fallen things except by a person who will look for its owner announce it publicly. And if somebody is killed; then his closest relative has the right to choose one of the two- the blood money Diya or retaliation having the killer killed. In the meantime a man from Yemen came and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Get that written for me. The Prophet ﷺ ordered his companions to write that for him. Then a man from Quraish said; Except AlIdhkhir a type of grass that has good smell O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; as we use it in our houses and graves. The Prophet ﷺ said; Except AlIdhkhir i.e. AlIdhkhir is allowed to be plucked.
