He said: "Oh! how shall Allah bring it (ever) to life, after (this) its death?" but Allah caused him to die for a hundred years, then raised him up (again). He said: "How long didst thou tarry (thus)?" He said: (Perhaps) a day or part of a day." He said: "Nay, thou hast tarried thus a hundred years; but look at thy food and thy drink; they show no signs of age; and look at thy donkey: And that We may make of thee a sign unto the people, Look further at the bones, how We bring them together and clothe them with flesh." When this was shown clearly to him, he said: "I know that Allah hath power over all things." | |

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6330 | Narrated Urwa the son of AlZubair : AlZubair had three scars caused by the sword; one of which was over his shoulder and I used to insert my fingers in it. He received two of those wounds on the day of Badr and one on the day of AlYarmuk. When Abdullah Bin AlZubair was killed; Abd AlMalik Bin Marwan said to me; O Urwa; do you recognize the sword of AlZubair? I said; Yes. He said; What marks does it have? I replied; It has a dent in its sharp edge which was caused in it on the day of Badr. Abd AlMalik said; You are right! i.e. their swords have dents because of clashing with the regiments of the enemies Then Abd AlMalik returned that sword to me i.e. Urwa. They said: We gathered so that we may remember Allah. He said; By Allah; nothing caused you to gather for this sitting except for that? They said; By Allah; nothing caused us to gather for this sitting except for that. He said: Indeed; I did not ask you out of suspicion; and there was no one in the position I was from the Messenger of Allah who narrates less Ahadith from him than me. Indeed the Messenger of Allah came out upon a circle of his Companions and said: what has caused you to gather for this sitting? They said: We have gathered for this sitting to remember Allah; and praise Him for His having guided us to Islam; and having bestowed blessings upon us. So he said: By Allah; nothing caused you to gather for this sitting except for that? SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-26509 | Amr Bin Abi Amr and Ikrimah reported: Some people of Iraq came and said: Ibn Abbas; do you regard taking a bath on Friday as obligatory ? He said: No; it is only a means of cleanliness; and is better for one who washes oneself. Anyone who does not take a bath; it is not essential for him. I inform you how the bath on Friday commenced. The people were poor and used to wear woolen clothes; and would carry loads on their backs. Their Masjid was small and its rood was lowered down. It was a sort of trellis of vine. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ once came out on a hot day and the people perspired profusely in the woolen clothes so much so that foul smell emitted from them and it caused trouble to each other. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ found the foul smell; he said: O people; when this day Friday comes; you should take bath and every one should anoint the best oil and perfume one has. Ibn Abbas then said: Then Allah; the Exalted; provided wealth to the people and they wore clothes other than the woolen; and were spared from work; and their Masjid became vast.
