SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4011 | Narrated Ibn AlHanafiya: If Ali had spoken anything bad about Uthman then he would have mentioned the day when some persons came to him and complained about the Zakat officials of Uthman. Ali then said to me; Go to Uthman and say to him; This document contains the regulations of spending the Sadaqa of Allah Apostle so order your Zakat officials to act accordingly. I took the document to Uthman. Uthman said; Take it away; for we are not in need of it. I returned to Ali with it and informed him of that. He said; Put it whence you took it. | The Chapter on Angeles And Good Deeds And Fasting in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The armour of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4874 | Narrated AlBara: When the Prophet ﷺ intended to perform Umra in the month of Dh AlQada; the people of Mecca did not let him enter Mecca till he settled the matter with them by promising to stay in it for three days only. When the document of treaty was written; the following was mentioned: These are the terms on which Muhammad; Allah Messenger ﷺ agreed to make peace. They said; We will not agree to this; for if we believed that you are Allah Messenger ﷺ we would not prevent you; but you are Muhammad Bin Abdullah. The Prophet ﷺ said; I am Allah Messenger ﷺ and also Muhammad Bin Abdullah. Then he said to Ali; Rub off the words Allah Messenger ﷺ ; but Ali said; No; by Allah; I will never rub off your name. So; Allah Messenger ﷺ took the document and wrote; This is what Muhammad Bin Abdullah has agreed upon: No arms will be brought into Mecca except in their cases; and nobody from the people of Mecca will be allowed to go with him i.e. the Prophet ﷺ even if he wished to follow him and he the Prophet ﷺ will not prevent any of his companions from staying in Mecca if the latter wants to stay. When the Prophet ﷺ entered Mecca and the time limit passed; the Meccans went to Ali and said; Tell your Friend i.e. the Prophet ﷺ to go out; as the period agreed to has passed. So; the Prophet ﷺ went out of Mecca. The daughter of Hamza ran after them i.e. the Prophet ﷺ and his companions ; calling; O Uncle! O Uncle! Ali received her and led her by the hand and said to Fatima; Take your uncle daughter. Zaid and Jafar quarreled about her. Ali said; I have more right to her as she is my uncle daughter. Jafar said; She is my uncle daughter; and her aunt is my wife. Zaid said; She is my brother daughter. The Prophet ﷺ judged that she should be given to her aunt; and said that the aunt was like the mother. He then said to All; You are from me and I am from you; and said to Jafar; You resemble me both in character and appearance; and said to Zaid; You are our brother in faith and our freed slave. | The Chapter on Makkah And Almadinah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on How to write re conciliation in Sahih AlBukhari |

SahihMuslim-017-001-17982 | Ibn Abbas reported: When Allah Messenger ﷺ was about to leave this world; there were persons around him in his house; Umar Bin AlKbattab being one of them. Allah Apostle ﷺ said: Come; I may write for you a document; you would not go astray after that. Thereupon Umar said: Verily Allah Messenger ﷺ is deeply afflicted with pain. You have the Quran with you. The Book of Allah is sufficient for us. Those who were present in the house differed. Some of them said: Bring him the writing material so that Allah Messenger ﷺ may write a document for you and you would never go astray after him And some among them said what Umar had already said. When they indulged in nonsense and began to dispute in the presence of Allah Messenger ﷺ ; he said: Get up and go away Ubaidullah said: Ibn Abbas used to say: There was a heavy loss; indeed a heavy loss; that; due to their dispute and noise. Allah Messenger ﷺ could not write or dictate the document for them. | The Chapter on Farming And Irrigation Fruits in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 5 in Sahih Muslim

Thereupon Marwan said: I have not done that. Thereupon Abu Huraira ﷺ said: You have made lawful the transactions with the help of documents only; whereas Allah Messenger ﷺ forbade the transaction of foodgrains until full possession is taken of them. Marwan then addressed the people and forbade them to enter into such transactions as are done with the help of documents. Sulaiman said: I saw the sentinels snatching these documents from the people. | The Chapter on Angeles And Good Deeds And Destiny in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 8 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-23239 | Ibrahim AlTaimi reported on the authority of his father: Ali Bin Abi Talib Allah be pleased with him addressed us and said: He who thought that we have besides the Holy Quran anything else that we recite; he told a lie. And this document which is hanging by the sheath of the sword contains but the ages of the camels; and the nature of the wounds. He Hadrat Ali reported Allah Apostle ﷺ as saying: Medina is sacred from Air to Thaur; So if anyone makes an innovation or accommodates an innovator; the curse of Allah; the angels; and all persons will fall upon him; and Allah will not accept any obligatory or supererogatory act as recompense from them. And the protection granted by the Muslims is one and must be respected by the humblest of them. If anyone makes a false claim to paternity; or being a client of other than his own masters; there is upon him the curse of Allah; the angels; and all the people. Allah will not accept from him any recompense in the form of obligatory acts or supererogatory acts. The hadith transmitted on the authority of Abu Bakr and Zabair ends with these words : The humblest among them should respect it; and what follows after it is not mentioned there; and in the hadith transmitted by them these words are not found: The document was hanging on the sheath of his sword. | The Chapter on Angeles And Good Deeds And Almadinah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 85 in Sahih Muslim |

SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25225 | Narrated Sahl Ibn Hanzaliyah: Uyaynah Ibn Housn and Aqra Ibn Habis came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They begged from him. He commanded to give them what they begged. He ordered Muawiyah to write a document to give what they begged. Aqra took his document; wrapped it in his turban; and went away. As for Uyaynah; he took his document and came to the Prophet ﷺ at his home; and said to him: Muhammad; do you see me? I am taking a document to my people; but I do not know what it contains; just like the document of AlMutalammis. Muawiyah informed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ of his statement. Thereupon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who begs from people when he has sufficient is simply asking for a large amount of Hell-fire. AlNufayl a transmitter said elsewhere: embers of Hell. They asked: Messenger of Allah; what is a sufficiency? Elsewhere AlNufayl said: What is a sufficiency which makes begging unfitting? He replied: It is that which would provide a morning and an evening meal. Elsewhere AlNufayl said: It is when one has enough for a day and night; or for a night and a day. He AlNufayl narrated to us this tradition briefly in the words that I have mentioned. | The Chapter on Wealth And Poor And Orphans in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on To Whom Zakat Is To Be Paid And The Definition Of A Wealthy Person in Sunan Abu Dawoud

He said: No; except what is contained in this document of mine. Mousaddad said: He then took out a document. Ahmad said: A document from the sheath of his sword. It contained: The lives of all Muslims are equal; they are one hand against others; the lowliest of them can guarantee their protection. Beware; a Muslim must not be killed for an infidel; nor must one who has been given a covenant be killed while his covenant holds. If anyone introduces an innovation; he will be responsible for it. If anyone introduces an innovation or gives shelter to a man who introduces an innovation in religion ; he is cursed by Allah; by His angels; and by all the people. Mousaddad said: Ibn Abu Urubah version has: He took out a document. | The Chapter on Angeles And Good Deeds And Almadinah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Should A Muslim Be Killed In Retaliation For A Disbeliever in Sunan Abu Dawoud

So the Prophet ﷺ wrote a document for him that he should be given a hundred camels which were to be acquired from the fifth taken from the polytheists of Banu Dhuhl. So he took a part of them; for Banu Dhuhl embraced Islam. He then asked Abu Bakr for them later on; and brought to him the document of the Prophet ﷺ. So Abu Bakr wrote for him that he should be given one thousand two hundred sa from the sadaqah of AlYamamah; four thousand sas of wheat; four thousand sas of barley; and four thousand sas of dates. The text of the document written by the Prophet ﷺ for Mujjaah was as follows: In the name of Allah; the Beneficent; the Merciful.
