I was then brought a white beast which is called AlBuraq; bigger than a donkey and smaller than a mule. Its stride was as long as the eye could reach. I was mounted on it; and then we went forth till we reached the lowest heaven. Gabriel asked for the gate to be opened; and it was said: Who is he? He replied: Gabriel. It was again said: Who is with thee? He replied: Muhammad ﷺ. It was said: Has he been sent for? He Gabriel said: Yes. Then we travelled on till we reached the sixth heaven and came to Moses ﷺ and I greeted him and he said: Welcome unto righteous brother and righteous prophet. And when I passed by him he wept; and a voice was heard saying: What makes thee weep? He said: My Lord; he is a young man whom Thou hast sent after me as a prophet and his followers will enter Paradise in greater numbers than my followers. Seventy thousand angels enter into it daily and; after they come out; they never return again. Two vessels were then brought to me. - Anas Bin Malik narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I was brought an animal that was larger than a donkey and smaller than a mule; whose stride could reach as far as it could see. I mounted it; and Jibril was with me; and I set off. Then he said: Dismount and pray; so I did that. He said: Do you know where you have prayed? You have prayed in Taibah; which will be the place of the emigration. Then he said: Dismount and pray; so I prayed. He said: Do you know where you have prayed? You have prayed in Mount Sinai; where Allah; the Mighty and Sublime; spoke to Mousa; ﷺ. So I dismounted and prayed; and he said: Do you know where you have prayed? You have prayed in Bethlehem; where Eisa; ﷺ ; was born. Then I entered Bait AlMaqdis Jerusalem where the Prophets; peace be upon them; were assembled for me; and Jibril brought me forward to lead them in prayer. Then I was taken up to the first heaven; where I saw Adam; ﷺ. Then I was taken up to the second heaven where I saw the maternal cousins Eisa and Yahya; peace be upon them. Then I was taken up to the third heaven where I saw Yousif; ﷺ. Then I was taken up to the fourth heaven where I saw Harun; ﷺ. Then I was taken up to the fifth heaven where I saw Idris; ﷺ. I fell down prostrate and it was said to me: Indeed The day I created the heavens and the Earth; I enjoined upon you and your Ummah fifty prayers; so establish them; you and your Ummah. I came back to Ibrahim and he did not ask me about anything; then I came to Mousa and he said: How much did your Lord enjoin upon you and your Ummah? I said: Fifty prayers. He said: You will not be able to establish them; neither you nor your Ummah. Go back to your Lord and ask Him to reduce it. So I went back to my Lord and He reduced it by ten. Then I came to Mousa and he told me to go back; so I went back and He reduced it by ten. Then I came to Mousa and he told me to go back; so I went back and He reduced it by ten. Then it was reduced it by ten. Then it was reduced to five prayers. He Mousa said: Go back to you Lord and ask Him to reduce it; for two prayers were enjoined upon the Children of Israel but they did not establish them. So I went back to my Lord and asked Him to reduce it; but He said: The day I created the heavens and the Earth; I enjoined fifty prayers upon you and your Ummah. Five is for fifty; so establish them; you and your Ummah. I knew that this was what Allah; the Mighty and Sublime; had determined so I went back to Mousa; ﷺ ; and he said: Go back. But I knew that it was what Allah had determined; so I did not go back. SunanAlNasai-017-001-11605
- It was narrated from Anas Bin Malik; from Malik Bin Sasaah; that the Prophet ﷺ said: While I was at the Kabah; in a state between sleep and wakefulness; three men came; and one of them who was in the middle came toward me. I was brought a basin of gold; filled with wisdom and faith; and he slit open from the throat to the lower abdomen; and washed the heart with Zamzam water; then - it was filled with wisdom and faith. Then I was brought a riding-beast; smaller than a mule and bigger than a donkey. I set off with Jibril; ﷺ ; and we came to the lowest heaven. It was said: Who is with you? He said: Muhammad. It was said: Has revelation been sent to him? Welcome to him; what an excellent visit his is. I came to Adam; ﷺ ; and greeted him; and he said: Welcome to you! What an excellent son and Prophet. Then we came to the second heaven and it was said: Who is this? He said: Jibrail. [1] It was said: Who is with you? he said: Muhammad. And the same exchange took place. I came to Yahya and Eisa; peace be upon them both; and greeted them; and they said: Welcome to you! What an excellent brother and Prophet. Then we came to the third heaven and it was said: Who is this? He said: Jibrail. It was said: Who is with you? He said: Muhammad. And the same exchange took place. I came to Yousif; ﷺ ; and greeted him; and he said: Welcome to you! What an excellent brother and Prophet. Then we came to the fourth heaven and the same exchange took place. I came to Idris; ﷺ ; and greeted him; and he said: Welcome to you! What an excellent brother and Prophet. Then we came to the fifth heaven and the same exchange took place. I came to Harun; ﷺ ; and greeted him; and he said: Welcome to you! What an excellent brother and Prophet. Then we came to the sixth heaven and the same exchange took place. I came to Mousa; ﷺ ; and greeted him; and he said: Welcome to you! What an excellent brother and Prophet. What I passed him; he wept; and it was said: Why are you weeping? He said: O Lord; this young man whom You have sent after me; more of his Ummah will enter Paradise than from my nation; and they will be more virtuous than them. Then we came to the seventh heaven and a similar exchange took place. I came to Ibrahim; ﷺ ; and greeted him; and he said: Welcome to you! What an excellent son and Prophet. Then I was taken up to the Oft-Frequented House AlBait AlMamur and I asked Jibrail about it; and he said: This is AlBait AlMamur in which seventy thousand angels pray everyday; and when they leave it they never come back. Then I was taken up to Sidrah AlMuntaha the Lote-Tree of the Utmost Boundary. Its fruits were like Qilal [2] of Hajar and its leaves were like the ears of elephants. At its base were four rivers: Two hidden rivers and two manifest rivers. I asked Jibril About them and he said: The two hidden ones are in paradise; and the two manifest ones are the Euphrates and the Nile. Then fifty prayers were enjoined upon me. I came to Mousa and he said: What happened? I said: Fifty prayers have been enjoined upon me. He said: I know more about the people than you. I tried hard with the Children of Israel. Your Ummah will never be able to bear that. Go back to your Lord and ask Him to reduce it for you. So I went back to my Lord and asked Him to reduce it; and He made it forty. Then I went back to Mousa; ﷺ ; and he said: What happened? I said: He made it forty. He said to me something similar to what he said the first time; so I went back to my Lord and He made it thirty. I came to Mousa; ﷺ ; and told him; and he said to me something similar to what he said the first time; so I went back to my Lord and he made it twenty; then ten; then five. I came to Mousa; ﷺ ; and he said to me something like he had said the first time; but I said: I feel too shy before my Lord to go back to Him. Then it was called out: I have decreed the reward for My obligation; and I have reduced the burden for My slaves and I will give a ten-fold reward for each good deed.[1] It is like this here; while it is Jibrail the first time it appears in this narration; and Jibrail is often used in the Hadith literature.[2] Plural of Qullah SunanAlNasai-017-001-11603
- It is narrated on the authority of Anas Bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I was brought AlBuraq Who is an animal white and long; larger than a donkey but smaller than a mule; who would place his hoof a distance equal to the range of version. I mounted it and came to the Temple Bait Maqdis in Jerusalem ; then tethered it to the ring used by the prophets. I entered the Masjid and prayed two rakahs in it; and then came out and Gabriel brought me a vessel of wine and a vessel of milk. I chose the milk; and Gabriel said: You have chosen the natural thing. Then he took me to heaven. Gabriel then asked the gate of heaven to be opened and he was asked who he was. He replied: Gabriel. He was again asked: Who is with you? He Gabriel said: Muhammad. It was said: Has he been sent for? Gabriel replied: He has indeed been sent for. And the door of the heaven was opened for us and lo! we saw Adam. He welcomed me and prayed for my good. Then we ascended to the second heaven. Gabriel ﷺ asked the door of heaven to be opened ; and he was asked who he was. He answered: Gabriel; and was again asked: Who is with you? He replied: Muhammad. It was said: Has he been sent for? He replied: He has indeed been sent for. The gate was opened. When I entered Isa Bin Maryam and Yahya Bin Zakariya peace be upon both of them ; cousins from the maternal side. welcomed me and prayed for my good Then I was taken to the third heaven and Gabriel asked for the opening of the door. He was asked: Who are you? He replied: Gabriel. He was again asked: Who is with you? He replied Muhammad ﷺ. It was said: Has he been sent for? He replied He has indeed been sent for. The gate was opened for us and I saw Yousif peace of Allah be upon him who had been given half of world beauty. He welcomed me prayed for my well-being. Then he ascended with us to the fourth heaven. Gabriel ﷺ asked for the gate to be opened; and it was said: Who is he? He replied: Gabriel. It was again said: Who is with you? He said: Muhammad. It was said: Has he been sent for? He replied: He has indeed been sent for. The gate was opened for us; and lo! Idris was there. He welcomed me and prayed for my well-being About him Allah; the Exalted and the Glorious; has said: We elevated him Idris to the exalted position Quran xix. 57. Then he ascended with us to the fifth heaven and Gabriel asked for the gate to be opened. It was said: Who is he? He replied Gabriel. It was again said: Who is with thee? He replied: Muhammad. It was said Has he been sent for? He replied: He has indeed been sent for. The gate was opened for us and then I was with Harun Aaron-peace of Allah be upon him. He welcomed me prayed for my well-being. Then I was taken to the sixth heaven. Gabriel ﷺ asked for the door to be opened. It was said: Who is he? He replied: Gabriel. It was said: Who is with thee? He replied: Muhammad. It was said: Has he been sent for? He replied: He has indeed been sent for. The gate was opened for us and there I was with Mousa Moses ﷺ He welcomed me and prayed for my well-being. Then I was taken up to the seventh heaven. Gabriel asked the gate to be opened. It was said: Who is he? He said: Gabriel It was said. Who is with thee? He replied: Muhammad ﷺ. It was said: Has he been sent for? He replied: He has indeed been sent for. The gate was opened for us and there I found Ibrahim Abraham ﷺ reclining against the Bait AlMamur and there enter into it seventy thousand angels every day; never to visit this place again. Then I was taken to Sidrat AlMuntaha whose leaves were like elephant ears and its fruit like big earthenware vessels. And when it was covered by the Command of Allah; it underwent such a change that none amongst the creation has the power to praise its beauty. Then Allah revealed to me a revelation and He made obligatory for me fifty prayers every day and night. Then I went down to Moses ﷺ and he said: What has your Lord enjoined upon your Ummah? I said: Fifty prayers. He said: Return to thy Lord and beg for reduction in the number of prayers ; for your community shallnot be able to bear this burden. as I have put to test the children of Israil and tried them and found them too weak to bear such a heavy burden. He the Holy Prophet said: I went back to my Lord and said: My Lord; make things lighter for my Ummah. The Lord reduced five prayers for me. I went down to Moses and said. The Lord reduced five prayers for me; He said: Verily thy Ummah shall not be able to bear this burden; return to thy Lord and ask Him to make things lighter. I then kept going back and forth between my Lord Blessed and Exalted and Moses; till He said: There are five prayers every day and night. O Muhammad; each being credited as ten; so that makes fifty prayers. He who intends to do a good deed and does not do it will have a good deed recorded for him; and if he does it; it will be recorded for him as ten; whereas he who intends to do an evil deed and does not do; it will not be recorded for him; and if he does it; only one evil deed will be recorded. I then came down and when I came to Moses and informed him; he said: Go back to thy Lord and ask Him to make things lighter. Upon this the Messenger of Allah remarked: I returned to my Lord until I felt ashamed before Him. SahihMuslim-017-001-18700
- Ibn Dinar reported that a desert Arab met Abdullah Bin Umar on the way to Mecca. Abdullah greeted him and mounted him upon the donkey on which he had been riding and gave him the turban that he had on his head. Ibn Dinar further reported: We said to him Abdullah Bin Umar : May Allah do good to you; these are desert Arabs and they are satisfied even with meagre things. Thereupon Abdullah said: His father was loved dearly by Umar Bin AlKhattab and I heard Allah Messenger ﷺ as saying: The finest act of goodness on the part of a son is to treat kindly the loved ones of his father. - Narrated Usama Bin Zaid: The Prophet ﷺ rode a donkey having a saddle with a Fadakiya velvet covering. He mounted me behind him and went to visit Saad Bin Ubada; and that had been before the battle of Badr. The Prophet ﷺ proceeded till he passed by a gathering in which Abdullah Bin Ubai Bin Salul was present; and that had been before Abdullah embraced Islam. The gathering comprised of Muslims; polytheists; i.e.; isolators and Jews. Abdullah Bin Rawaha was also present in that gathering. When dust raised by the donkey covered the gathering; Abdullah Bin Ubai covered his nose with his upper garment and said; Do not trouble us with dust. The Prophet ﷺ greeted them; stopped and dismounted. Then he invited them to Allah i.e.; to embrace Islam and recited to them some verses of the Holy Quran. On that; Abdullah Bin Ubai said; O man ! There is nothing better than what you say if it is true. Do not trouble us with it in our gathering; but return to your house; and if somebody comes to you; teach him there. On that Abdullah Bin Rawaha said; Yes; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Bring your teachings to our gathering; for we love that. So the Muslims; the pagans and the Jews started abusing each other till they were about to fight. The Prophet ﷺ kept on quietening them till they became calm. Thereupon the Prophet mounted his animal and proceeded till he entered upon Saad Bin Ubada. He said to him O Sad! Have you not heard what Abu Hubab i.e.; Abdullah Bin Ubai said? Saad said; O Allah Apostle! Excuse and forgive him; for Allah has given you what He has given you. The people of this town Medina decided unanimously to crown him and make him their chief by placing a turban on his head; but when that was prevented by the Truth which Allah had given you he Abdullah Bin Ubai was grieved out of jealously; and that was the reason which caused him to behave in the way you have seen. - Narrated Abbas Bin Malik: Malik Bin Sasaa said that Allah Messenger ﷺ described to them his Night Journey saying; While I was lying in AlHatim or AlHijr; suddenly someone came to me and cut my body open from here to here. I asked AlJarud who was by my side; What does he mean? He said; It means from his throat to his pubic area; or said; From the top of the chest. The Prophet ﷺ further said; He then took out my heart. Then a gold tray of Belief was brought to me and my heart was washed and was filled with Belief and then returned to its original place. Then a white animal which was smaller than a mule and bigger than a donkey was brought to me. On this AlJarud asked; Was it the Buraq; O Abu Hamza? I i.e. Anas replied in the affirmative. The Prophet ﷺ said; The animal step was so wide that it reached the farthest point within the reach of the animal sight. I was carried on it; and Gabriel set out with me till we reached the nearest heaven. When he asked for the gate to be opened; it was asked; Who is it? Gabriel answered; Gabriel. It was asked; Who is accompanying you? Gabriel replied; Muhammad. It was asked; Has Muhammad been called? Gabriel replied in the affirmative. Then it was said; He is welcomed. What an excellent visit his is! The gate was opened; and when I went over the first heaven; I saw Adam there. Gabriel said to me. This is your father; Adam; pay him your greetings. So I greeted him and he returned the greeting to me and said; You are welcomed; O pious son and pious Prophet. Then Gabriel ascended with me till we reached the second heaven. Gabriel asked for the gate to be opened. It was asked; Who is it? Gabriel answered; Gabriel. It was asked; Who is accompanying you? Gabriel replied; Muhammad. It was asked; Has he been called? Gabriel answered in the affirmative. Then it was said; He is welcomed. What an excellent visit his is! The gate was opened. When I went over the second heaven; there I saw Yahya i.e. John and Isa i.e. Jesus who were cousins of each other. Gabriel said to me ; These are John and Jesus; pay them your greetings. So I greeted them and both of them returned my greetings to me and said; You are welcomed; O pious brother and pious Prophet. Then Gabriel ascended with me to the third heaven and asked for its gate to be opened. It was asked; Who is it? Gabriel replied; Gabriel. It was asked; Who is accompanying you? Gabriel replied; Muhammad. It was asked; Has he been called? Gabriel replied in the affirmative. Then it was said; He is welcomed; what an excellent visit his is! The gate was opened; and when I went over the third heaven there I saw Joseph. Gabriel said to me ; This is Joseph; pay him your greetings. So I greeted him and he returned the greeting to me and said; You are welcomed; O pious brother and pious Prophet. Then Gabriel ascended with me to the fourth heaven and asked for its gate to be opened. It was asked; Who is it? Gabriel replied; Gabriel It was asked; Who is accompanying you? Gabriel replied; Muhammad. It was asked; Has he been called? Gabriel replied in the affirmative. Then it was said; He is welcomed; what an excel lent visit his is! The gate was opened; and when I went over the fourth heaven; there I saw Idris. Gabriel said to me ; This is Idris; pay him your greetings. So I greeted him and he returned the greeting to me and said; You are welcomed; O pious brother and pious Prophet. Then Gabriel ascended with me to the fifth heaven and asked for its gate to be opened. It was asked; Who is it? Gabriel replied; Gabriel. It was asked. Who is accompanying you? Gabriel replied; Muhammad. It was asked; Has he been called? Gabriel replied in the affirmative. Then it was said He is welcomed; what an excellent visit his is! So when I went over the fifth heaven; there I saw Harun i.e. Aaron ; Gabriel said; to me. This is Aaron; pay him your greetings. I greeted him and he returned the greeting to me and said; You are welcomed; O pious brother and pious Prophet. Then Gabriel ascended with me to the sixth heaven and asked for its gate to be opened. It was asked. Who is it? Gabriel replied; Gabriel. It was asked; Who is accompanying you? Gabriel replied; Muhammad. It was asked; Has he been called? Gabriel replied in the affirmative. It was said; He is welcomed. What an excellent visit his is! When I went over the sixth heaven ; there I saw Moses. Gabriel said to me ; This is Moses; pay him your greeting. So I greeted him and he returned the greetings to me and said; You are welcomed; O pious brother and pious Prophet. When I left him i.e. Moses he wept. Someone asked him; What makes you weep? Moses said; I weep because after me there has been sent as Prophet a young man whose followers will enter Paradise in greater numbers than my followers. Then Gabriel ascended with me to the seventh heaven and asked for its gate to be opened. It was asked; Who is it? Gabriel replied; Gabriel. It was asked; Who is accompanying you? Gabriel replied; Muhammad. It was asked; Has he been called? Gabriel replied in the affirmative. Then it was said; He is welcomed. What an excellent visit his is! So when I went over the seventh heaven ; there I saw Abraham. Gabriel said to me ; This is your father; pay your greetings to him. So I greeted him and he returned the greetings to me and said; You are welcomed; O pious son and pious Prophet. Then I was made to ascend to Sidrat AlMuntaha i.e. the Lote Tree of the utmost boundary Behold! Its fruits were like the jars of Hajr i.e. a place near Medina and its leaves were as big as the ears of elephants. Gabriel said; This is the Lote Tree of the utmost boundary. Behold ! There ran four rivers; two were hidden and two were visible; I asked; What are these two kinds of rivers; O Gabriel? He replied; As for the hidden rivers; they are two rivers in Paradise and the visible rivers are the Nile and the Euphrates. Then AlBait AlMamur i.e. the Sacred House was shown to me and a container full of wine and another full of milk and a third full of honey were brought to me. I took the milk. Gabriel remarked; This is the Islamic religion which you and your followers are following. Then the prayers were enjoined on me: They were fifty prayers a day. When I returned; I passed by Moses who asked me ; What have you been ordered to do? I replied; I have been ordered to offer fifty prayers a day. Moses said; Your followers cannot bear fifty prayers a day; and by Allah; I have tested people before you; and I have tried my level best with Bani Israel in vain. Go back to your Lord and ask for reduction to lessen your followers burden. So I went back; and Allah reduced ten prayers for me. Then again I came to Moses; but he repeated the same as he had said before. Then again I went back to Allah and He reduced ten more prayers. When I came back to Moses he said the same; I went back to Allah and He ordered me to observe ten prayers a day. When I came back to Moses; he repeated the same advice; so I went back to Allah and was ordered to observe five prayers a day. When I came back to Moses; he said; What have you been ordered? I replied; I have been ordered to observe five prayers a day. He said; Your followers cannot bear five prayers a day; and no doubt; I have got an experience of the people before you; and I have tried my level best with Bani Israel; so go back to your Lord and ask for reduction to lessen your follower burden. I said; I have requested so much of my Lord that I feel ashamed; but I am satisfied now and surrender to Allah Order. When I left; I heard a voice saying; I have passed My Order and have lessened the burden of My Worshipers. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3750

- Anas Bin Malik reported on the authority of Malik Bin Sa sa; perhaps a person of his tribe; that the Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: I was near the House i. e. Kabah in a state between sleep and wakefulness when I heard someone say: He is the third among the two persons. Then he came to me and took me with him. Then a golden basin containing the water of Zamzam was brought to me and my heart was opened up to such and such part. Qatada said: I asked him who was with me i e. the narrator and what he meant by such and such part. He replied: It means that it was opened up to the lower part of his abdomen Then the hadith continues : My heart was extracted and it was washed with the water of Zamzam and then it was restored in its original position; after which it was filled with faith and wisdom. He the Prophet said: Then the gate was opened for us and it was said : Welcome unto him! His is a blessed arrival. Then we came to Adam ﷺ. And he the narrator narrated the whole account of the hadith. The Holy Prophet observed that he met Jesus in the second heaven; Yahya peace be on both of them in the third heaven; Yousif in the third; Idris in the fourth; Harun in the fifth peace and blessings of Allah be upon them. Then we travelled on till we reached the seventh heaven and I came to Ibrahim. He the narrator narrat- ed in this hadith that the Prophet of Allah ﷺ told that he saw four rivers which flowed from the root of the lote-tree of the farthest limits : two manifest rivers and two hidden rivers. I said: Gabriel! what are these rivers? He replied: The two hidden rivers are the rivers of Paradise; and as regards the two manifest ones; they are the Nile and the Euphrates. Then the Bait AlMamur was raised up to me. I said: O Gabriel! what is this? He replied: It is the Bait AlMamur. Seventy thousand angels enter into it daily and; after they come out; they never return again. Two vessels were then brought to me. The first one contained wine and the second one contained milk; and both of them were placed before me. I chose milk. It was said: You did right. Allah will guide rightly through you your Ummah on the natural course. Then fifty prayers daily were made obligatory for me. And then he narrated the rest of the hadith to the end. - Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Horses may be used for three purposes: For a man they may be a source of reward in the Hereafter ; for another; a means of protection; and for another; a source of sin. The man for whom they are a source of reward; is the one who keeps them for Allah Cause and ties them with long ropes and lets them graze in a pasture or garden. Whatever those long ropes allow them to eat of that pasture or garden; will be written as good deeds for him and if they break their ropes and run one or two rounds; then all their footsteps and dung will be written as good deeds for him; and if they pass a river and drink from it though he has had no intention of watering them; even then; that will be written as good deeds for him. So such horses are a source of reward for that man. For the man who keeps horses for his livelihood in order not to ask others for help or beg his bread; and at the same time he does not forget Allah right of what he earns through them and of their backs that he presents it to be used in Allah Cause ; such horses are a shelter for him from poverty. For the man who keeps them just out of pride and for showing off; they are a source of sin. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ was asked about donkeys. He said; Allah has not revealed anything to me regarding them except this comprehensive Verse: Then anyone who has done good; equal to the weight of an atom or a small ant shall see it; and any one who has done evil; equal to the weight of an atom or a small ant shall see it. 99.7-8 SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1485
- It has been narrated on the authority of Usama Bin Zaid that the Prophet ﷺ rode a donkey. It had on it a saddle under which was a mattress made at Fadak a place near Medina. Behind him he seated Usama. He was going to the street of Banu Harith AlKhazraj to inquire after the health of Saad Bin Ubada This happened before the Battle of Badr. He proceeded until he passed by a mixed company of people in which were Muslims; polytheists; idol worshippers and the Jews and among them were Abdullah Bin Ubay and Abdullah Bin Rawaha. When the dust raised by the hoofs of the animal spread over the company; Abdullah Bin Ubay covered his nose with his mantle and said: Do not scatter the dust over us Not minding this remark ; the Prophet ﷺ greeted them; stopped; got down from his animal; invited them to Allah; and recited to them the Quran. Abdullah Bin Ubay said: O man; if what you say is the truth; the best thing for you would be not to bother us with it in our assemblies. Get back to your place. Whoso comes to you from us; tell him all this. Abdullah Bin Rawaha said: Come to us in our gatherings; for we love to hear it. The narrator says: At this ; the Muslims; the polytheists and the Jews began to rebuke one another until they were determined to come to blows. The Prophet ﷺ continued to pacify them. When they were pacified ; he rode his animal and came to Saad Bin Ubida. He said: Sad; havent you heard what Abu Hubab meaning Abdullah Bin Ubay has said? He has said so and so. Saad said: Messenger of Allah; forgive and pardon. God has granted you a sublime position; but so far as he is concerned the people of this settlement had-decided to make him their king by making him wear a crown and a turban in token thereof ; but God has circumvented this by the truth He has granted you. This has made him jealous and his jealousy must have prompted the behaviour that you have witnessed. So; the Prophet may peace upon him forgave him. SahihMuslim-017-001-18123
- Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet ﷺ said; Isnt he who raises his head before the Imam afraid that Allah may transform his head into that of a donkey or his figure face into that of a donkey? SahihAlBukhari-017-001-659
- Narrated Abu Said: The Prophet ﷺ said; Allah will say; O Adam!. Adam will reply; Labbaik and Sadaik I respond to Your Calls; I am obedient to Your orders ; wal Khair fi Yadaik and all the good is in Your Hands ! Then Allah will say to Adam ; Bring out the people of the Fire. Adam will say; What how many are the people of the Fire? Allah will say; Out of every thousand take out nine hundred and ninety-nine persons. At that time children will become hoary-headed and every pregnant female will drop her load have an abortion and you will see the people as if they were drunk; yet not drunk; But Allah punishment will be very severe. That news distressed the companions of the Prophet ﷺ too much; and they said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Who amongst us will be that man the lucky one out of one-thousand who will be saved from the Fire ? He said; Have the good news that one-thousand will be from Gog and Magog; and the one to be saved will be from you. The Prophet ﷺ added; By Him in Whose Hand my soul is; I Hope that you Muslims will be one third of the people of Paradise. On that; we glorified and praised Allah and said; Allahu Akbar. The Prophet ﷺ then said; By Him in Whose Hand my soul is; I hope that you will be one half of the people of Paradise; as your Muslims example in comparison to the other people non-Muslims ; is like that of a white hair on the skin of a black ox; or a round hairless spot on the foreleg of a donkey. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2231
- Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet ﷺ said; A horse may be kept for one of three purposes: for a man it may be a source of reward; for another it may be a means of living; and for a third it may be a burden a source of committing sins. As for the one for whom it is a source of reward; he is the one who keeps his horse for the sake of Jihad in Allah Cause; he ties it with a long rope on a pasture or in a garden. So whatever its rope allows it to eat; will be regarded as good rewardable deeds for its owner. And if it breaks off its rope and jumps over one or two hillocks; even its dung will be considered amongst his good deeds. And if it passes by a river and drinks water from it; that will be considered as good deeds for his benefit even if he has had no intention of watering it. A horse is a shelter for the one who keeps it so that he may earn his living honestly and takes it as a refuge to keep him from following illegal ways of gaining money ; and does not forget the rights of Allah i.e. paying the Zakat and allowing others to use it for Allah Sake. But a horse is a burden and a source of committing sins for him who keeps it out of pride and pretense and with the intention of harming the Muslims. The Prophet ﷺ was asked about donkeys. He replied; Nothing has been revealed to be concerning them except this comprehensive Verse which covers everything :-Then whosoever has done good equal to the weight of an atom or a small ant ; Shall see it its reward And whosoever has done evil equal to the weight of an atom or a small ant ; Shall see it Its punishment. 99.7-8 SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3989
- Narrated Abu Wail: Someone said to Usama; Will you not talk to this Uthman ? Usama said; I talked to him secretly without being the first man to open an evil door. I will never tell a ruler who rules over two men or more that he is good after I heard Allah Messenger ﷺ saying; A man will be brought and put in Hell Fire and he will circumambulate go around and round in Hell Fire like a donkey of a flour grinding mill; and all the people of Hell Fire will gather around him and will say to him; O so-and-so! Didnt you use to order others for good and forbid them from evil? That man will say; I used to order others to do good but I myself never used to do it; and I used to forbid others from evil while I myself used to do evil. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1368
- Narrated Usama Bin Zaid: That Allah Messenger ﷺ rode over a donkey covered with a Fadakiya velvet sheet and Usama was riding behind him. He was visiting Saad Bin Ubada who was sick in the dwelling place of Bani AlHarith Bin AlKhazraj and this incident happened before the battle of Badr. They proceeded till they passed by a gathering in which Abdullah Bin Ubai Bin Salul was present.; and that was before Abdullah Bin Ubat embraced Islam. In that gathering there were Muslims; pagan idolators and Jews; and among the Muslims there was Abdullah Bin Rawaha. When a cloud of dust raised by the movement of the animal covered that gathering; Abdullah Bin Ubai covered his nose with his garment and said; Do not cover us with dust. Allah Messenger ﷺ greeted them; stopped; dismounted and invited them to Allah i.e. to embrace Islam and recited to them the Holy Quran. On that Abdullah Bin Ubai Bin Salul said to him; O man! There is nothing better than what you say; if it is the truth. So do not trouble us with it in our gatherings; but if somebody comes to you; you can preach to him. On that Abdullah Bin Rawaha said Yes; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Call on us in our gathering; for we love that. So the Muslims; the pagans and the Jews started abusing one another till they were about to fight with one another. Allah Messenger ﷺ kept on quietening them till all of them became quiet; and then Allah Messenger ﷺ rode his animal and proceeded till he entered upon Saad Bin Ubada. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; O Sad! Didnt you hear what Abu Habab said? meaning Abdullah Bin Unbar. He said so-and-so. Saad Bin Ubada said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Let my father be sacrificed for you ! Excuse and forgive him for; by Him Who revealed to you the Book; Allah sent the Truth which was revealed to you at the time when the people of this town had decided to crown him Abdullah Bin Ubai as their ruler. So when Allah had prevented that with the Truth He had given you; he was choked by that; and that caused him to behave in such an impolite manner which you had noticed. So Allah Messenger ﷺ excused him. It was the custom of Allah Messenger ﷺ and his companions to excuse the pagans and the people of the scripture Christians and Jews as Allah ordered them; and they used to be patient when annoyed by them. Allah said: You shall certainly hear much that will grieve you from those who received the Scripture before you.....and from the pagans 3.186 He also said: Many of the people of the scripture wish that if they could turn you away as disbelievers after you have believed..... 2.109 So Allah Messenger ﷺ used to apply what Allah had ordered him by excusing them till he was allowed to fight against them. When Allah Messenger ﷺ had fought the battle of Badr and Allah killed whomever He killed among the chiefs of the infidels and the nobles of Quraish; and Allah Messenger ﷺ and his companions had returned with victory and booty; bringing with them some of the chiefs of the infidels and the nobles of the Quraish as captives. Abdullah Bin Ubai Bin Salul and the pagan idolators who were with him; said; This matter Islam has now brought out its face triumphed ; so give Allah Messenger ﷺ the pledge of allegiance for embracing Islam.. Then they became Muslims. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2720
