SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1927 | Narrated Urwa-bin AlZubair: Usama Bin Zaid said; The Prophet ﷺ rode over a donkey with a saddle underneath which there was a thick soft Fadakiya velvet sheet. Usama Bin Zaid was his companion rider; and he was going to pay a visit to Saad Bin Ubada who was sick at the dwelling place of Bani AlHarith Bin AlKhazraj; and this incident happened before the battle of Badr. The Prophet ﷺ passed by a gathering in which there were Muslims and pagan idolators and Jews; and among them there was Abdullah Bin Ubai Bin Salul; and there was Abdullah Bin Rawaha too. When a cloud of dust raised by the animal covered that gathering; Abdullah Bin Ubai covered his nose with his Rida sheet and said to the Prophet ; Dont cover us with dust. The Prophet ﷺ greeted them and then stopped; dismounted and invited them to Allah i.e.; to embrace Islam and also recited to them the Holy Quran. Abdullah Bin Ubai Bin Salul said; O man! There is nothing better than what you say; if what you say is the truth. So do not trouble us in our gatherings. Go back to your mount or house; and if anyone of us comes to you; tell your tales to him. On that Abdullah Bin Rawaha said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Come to us and bring it what you want to say in our gatherings; for we love that. So the Muslims; the pagans and the Jews started quarreling till they were about to fight and clash with one another. The Prophet ﷺ kept on quietening them till they all became quiet. He then rode his animal; and proceeded till he entered upon Saad Bin Ubada; he said; O Sad; didnt you hear what Abu Habbab said? He meant Abdullah Bin Ubai. He said so-and-so. Saad Bin Ubada said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Excuse and forgive him; for by Allah; Allah has given you what He has given you. The people of this town decided to crown him as their chief and make him their king. But when Allah prevented that with the Truth which He had given you; it choked him; and that was what made him behave in the way you saw him behaving. So the Prophet excused him. | The Chapter on Alansar And Forgiveness in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Greeting a mixup gathering in Sahih AlBukhari

That person came; and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He Ali is sleeping in the Masjid. So Allah Messenger ﷺ went there and found him lying. His upper body cover had fallen off to one side of his body; and so he was covered with dust. Allah Messenger ﷺ started cleaning the dust from him; saying; Get up; O Abu Turab! Get up; Abu Turab! How was this name given to Ali ? Sahl said; Ali went to Fatima and then came out and slept in the Masjid. The Prophet ﷺ asked Fatima; Where is your cousin? She said; In the Masjid. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3962 | Narrated AlBara Bin Azib: Abu Bakr came to my father who was at home and purchased a saddle from him. He said to Azib. Tell your son to carry it with me. So I carried it with him and my father followed us so as to take the price of the saddle. My father said; O Abu Bakr! Tell me what happened to you on your night journey with Allah Messenger ﷺ during Migration. He said; Yes; we travelled the whole night and also the next day till midday. when nobody could be seen on the way because of the severe heat. Then there appeared a long rock having shade beneath it; and the sunshine had not come to it yet. So we dismounted there and I levelled a place and covered it with an animal hide or dry grass for the Prophet ﷺ to sleep on for a while. I then said; Sleep; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; and I will guard you. So he slept and I went out to guard him. Suddenly I saw a shepherd coming with his sheep to that rock with the same intention we had when we came to it. I asked him. To whom do you belong; O boy? He replied; I belong to a man from Medina or Mecca. I said; Do your sheep have milk? He said; Yes. I said; Will you milk for us? He said; Yes. He caught hold of a sheep and I asked him to clean its teat from dust; hairs and dirt. The sub-narrator said that he saw AlBara striking one of his hands with the other; demonstrating how the shepherd removed the dust. The shepherd milked a little milk in a wooden container and I had a leather container which I carried for the Prophet ﷺ to drink and perform the ablution from. I went to the Prophet; hating to wake him up; but when I reached there; the Prophet ﷺ had already awakened; so I poured water over the middle part of the milk container; till the milk was cold. Then I said; Drink; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He drank till I was pleased. Then he asked; Has the time for our departure come? I said; Yes. So we departed after midday. Suraqa Bin Malik followed us and I said; We have been discovered; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said; Dont grieve for Allah is with us. The Prophet ﷺ invoked evil on him i.e. Suraqa and so the legs of his horse sank into the earth up to its belly. The subnarrator; Zuhair is not sure whether Abu Bakr said; It sank into solid earth. Suraqa said; I see that you have invoked evil on me. Please invoke good on me; and by Allah; I will cause those who are seeking after you to return. The Prophet ﷺ invoked good on him and he was saved. Then; whenever he met somebody on the way; he would say; I have looked for him here in vain. So he caused whomever he met to return. So Allah Messenger ﷺ excused him; for the Prophet ﷺ and his companions used to forgive the pagans and the people of Scripture as Allah had ordered them; and they used to put up with their mischief with patience. Allah said: And you shall certainly hear much that will grieve you from those who received the Scripture before you and from the pagans........ 3.186 And Allah also said:-Many of the people of the Scripture wish if they could turn you away as disbelievers after you have believed; from selfish envy.. 2.109 So the Prophet ﷺ used to stick to the principle of forgiveness for them as long as Allah ordered him to do so till Allah permitted fighting them. So when Allah Messenger ﷺ fought the battle of Badr and Allah killed the nobles of Quraish infidels through him; Ibn Ubai Bin Salul and the pagans and idolaters who were with him; said; This matter i.e. Islam has appeared i.e. became victorious. So they gave the pledge of allegiance for embracing Islam to Allah Messenger ﷺ and became Muslims. | The Chapter on Pre-Islam And Makkah in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prophetic Commentary on the Quran Tafseer of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihMuslim-017-001-18083 | This tradition has been narrated on the authority of Salama who said: We fought by the side of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at Hunain. When we encountered the enemy; I advanced and ascended a hillock. A man from the enemy side turned towards me and I shot him with an arrow. He ducked and hid himself from me. I could not understand what he did; but all of a sudden I saw that a group of people appeared from the other hillock. They and the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ met in combat; but the Companions of the Prophet turned back and I too turned back defeated. I had two mantles; one of which I was wrapping round the waist covering the lower part of my body and the other I was putting around my shoulders. My waist-wrapper got loose and I held the two mantles together. In this downcast condition I passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who was riding on his white mule. He said: The son of Akwa finds himself to be utterly perplexed. Wher. the Companions gathered round him from all sides. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ got down from his mule. picked up a handful of dust from the ground; threw it into their enemy faces and said: May these faces be deformed 1 There was no one among the enemy whose eyes were not filled with the dust from this handful. So they turned back fleeing. and Allah the Exalted and Glorious defeated them; and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed their booty among the Muslims. | The Chapter on Directions Turning in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 28 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18123 | It has been narrated on the authority of Usama Bin Zaid that the Prophet ﷺ rode a donkey. It had on it a saddle under which was a mattress made at Fadak a place near Medina. Behind him he seated Usama. He was going to the street of Banu Harith AlKhazraj to inquire after the health of Saad Bin Ubada This happened before the Battle of Badr. He proceeded until he passed by a mixed company of people in which were Muslims; polytheists; idol worshippers and the Jews and among them were Abdullah Bin Ubay and Abdullah Bin Rawaha. When the dust raised by the hoofs of the animal spread over the company; Abdullah Bin Ubay covered his nose with his mantle and said: Do not scatter the dust over us Not minding this remark ; the Prophet ﷺ greeted them; stopped; got down from his animal; invited them to Allah; and recited to them the Quran. Abdullah Bin Ubay said: O man; if what you say is the truth; the best thing for you would be not to bother us with it in our assemblies. Get back to your place. Whoso comes to you from us; tell him all this. Abdullah Bin Rawaha said: Come to us in our gatherings; for we love to hear it. The narrator says: At this ; the Muslims; the polytheists and the Jews began to rebuke one another until they were determined to come to blows. The Prophet ﷺ continued to pacify them. When they were pacified ; he rode his animal and came to Saad Bin Ubida. He said: Sad; havent you heard what Abu Hubab meaning Abdullah Bin Ubay has said? He has said so and so. Saad said: Messenger of Allah; forgive and pardon. God has granted you a sublime position; but so far as he is concerned the people of this settlement had-decided to make him their king by making him wear a crown and a turban in token thereof ; but God has circumvented this by the truth He has granted you. This has made him jealous and his jealousy must have prompted the behaviour that you have witnessed. Abdullah said: He should not perform tayammum even if he does not find water for a month. Abdullah said: Then what about the verse in Surat Maida: If you do not find water; betake yourself to clean dust? Abdullah said: If they were granted concession on the basis of this verse; there is a possibility that they would perform tayammum with dust on finding water very cold for themselves. Abu Mousa said to Abdullah: You have not heard the words of Ammar: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me on an errand and I had a seminal emission; but could find no water; and rolled myself in dust just as a beast rolls itself. I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ then and made a mention of that to him and he the Holy Prophet said: It would have been enough for you to do thus. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25970 | Narrated AlBara Ibn Azib: We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ accompanying the bier of a man of the Ansar. When we reached his grave; it was not yet dug. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat down and we also sat down around him as if birds were over our heads. He had in his hand a stick with which he was scratching the ground. He then raised his head and said: Seek refuge with Allah from the punishment in the grave. He said it twice or thrice. The version of Jabir adds here: He hears the beat of their sandals when they go back; and at that moment he is asked: O so and so! Who is your Lord; what is your religion; and who is your Prophet? Hannad version says: Two angels will come to him; make him sit up and ask him: Who is your Lord? He will reply: My Lord is Allah. They will ask him: What is your religion? He will reply: My religion is Islam. They will ask him: What is your opinion about the man who was sent on a mission among you? He will reply: He is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They will ask: Who made you aware of this? He will reply: I read Allah Book; believed in it; and considered it true; which is verified by Allah words: Allah Book; believed in it; and considered it true; which is verified by Allah words: Allah establishes those who believe with the word that stands firm in this world and the next. The agreed version reads: Then a crier will call from Heaven: My servant has spoken the truth; so spread a bed for him from Paradise; clothe him from Paradise; and open a door for him into Paradise. So some of its air and perfume will come to him; and a space will be made for him as far as the eye can see. He also mentioned the death of the infidel; saying: His spirit will be restored to his body; two angels will come to him; make him sit up and ask him: Who is your Lord? He will reply: Alas; alas! I do not know. They will ask him: What is your religion? He will reply: Alas; alas! I do not know. They will ask: Who was the man who was sent on a mission among you? He will reply: Alas; alas! I do not know. Then a crier will call from Heaven: He has lied; so spread a bed for him from Hell; clothe him from Hell; and open for him a door into Hell. Then some of its heat and pestilential wind will come to him; and his grave will be compressed; so that his ribs will be crushed together. Jabir version adds: One who is blind and dumb will then be placed in charge of him; having a sledge-hammer such that if a mountain were struck with it; it would become dust. He will give him a blow with it which will be heard by everything between the east and the west except by men and jinn; and he will become dust.
