SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1978 | Narrated Talha Bin Ubaidullah: A bedouin with unkempt hair came to Allah Messenger ﷺ and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Tell me what Allah has enjoined on me as regards prayers. The Prophet ﷺ said; You have to offer perfectly the five compulsory prayers in a day and a night 24 hrs. ; except if you want to perform some extra optional prayers. The bedouin said; Tell me what Allah has enjoined on me as regards fasting. The Prophet ﷺ said; You have to observe fast during the month of Ramadan except if you fast some extra optional fast. The bedouin said; Tell me what Allah has enjoined on me as regard Zakat. The Prophet ﷺ then told him the Islamic laws and regulations whereupon the bedouin said; By Him Who has honored you; I will not perform any optional deeds of worship and I will not leave anything of what Allah has enjoined on me. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; He will be successful if he has told the truth or he will enter Paradise if he said the truth. And some people said; The Zakat for one-hundred and twenty camels is two Hiqqas; and if the Zakat payer slaughters the camels intentionally or gives them as a present or plays some other trick in order to avoid the Zakat; then there is no harm in it for him. | The Chapter on Obligations And Enjoining Charity in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Tricks in Zakat in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4853 | Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: When my father died he owed a Jew thirty Awsuq of dates. I requested him to give me respite for repaying but he refused. I requested Allah Messenger ﷺ to intercede with the Jew. Allah Messenger ﷺ went to the Jew and asked him to accept the fruits of my trees in place of the debt but the Jew refused. Allah Apostle entered the garden of the date-palms; wandering among the trees and ordered me saying ; Pluck the fruits and give him his due. So; I plucked the fruits for him after the departure of Allah Apostle and gave his thirty Awsuq; and still had seventeen Awsuq extra for myself. Jabir said: I went to Allah Messenger ﷺ to inform of what had happened; but found him praying the Asr prayer. After the prayer I told him about the extra fruits which remained. Allah Messenger ﷺ told me to inform Umar Ibn AlKhattab about it. When I went to Umar and told him about it; Umar said; When Allah Messenger ﷺ walked in your garden; I was sure that Allah would definitely bless it. | The Chapter on Food And Trees in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on To settle one accounts by repaying in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4981 | Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: I was accompanying the Prophet ﷺ on a journey and was riding a slow camel that was lagging behind the others. The Prophet ﷺ passed by me and asked; Who is this? I replied; Jabir Bin Abdullah. He asked; What is the matter; why are you late ? I replied; I am riding a slow camel. He asked; Do you have a stick? I replied in the affirmative. He said; Give it to me. When I gave it to him; he beat the camel and rebuked it. Then that camel surpassed the others thenceforth. The Prophet ﷺ said; Sell it to me. I replied; It is a gift for you; O Allah Messenger ﷺ. He said; Sell it to me. I have bought it for four Dinars gold pieces and you can keep on riding it till Medina. When we approached Medina; I started going towards my house. The Prophet ﷺ said; Where are you going? I Sad; I have married a widow. He said; Why have you not married a virgin to fondle with each other? I said; My father died and left daughters; so I decided to marry a widow an experienced woman to look after them. He said; Well done. When we reached Medina; Allah Messenger ﷺ said; O Bilal; pay him the price of the camel and give him extra money. Bilal gave me four Dinars and one Qirat extra. A sub-narrator said : Jabir added; The extra Qirat of Allah Messenger ﷺ never parted from me. The Qirat was always in Jabir Bin Abdullah purse. | The Chapter on Camels And Herdsmen And Almedinah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on If someone deputes a person to give something in Sahih AlBukhari |

MuwataMalik-017-001-34916 | Yahya said that he had heard Malik say; The undisputed way of doing things in our community concerning pledges is that in cases where land or a house or an animal are known to have been destroyed whilst in the possession of the broker of the pledge; and the circumstances of the loss are known; the loss is against the pledger. There is no deduction made from what is due to the broker at all. Any pledge which perishes in the possession of the broker and the circumstances of its loss are only known by his word; the loss is against the broker and he is liable for its value. He is asked to describe whatever was destroyed and then he is made to take an oath about that description and what he loaned on security for it. Then people of discernment evaluate the description. If the pledge was worth more than what the broker loaned; the pledger takes the extra. If the assessed value of the pledge is less than what he was loaned; the pledger is made to take an oath as to what the broker loaned and he does not have to pay the extra which the broker loaned above the assessed value of the pledge. If the pledger refuses to take an oath; he has to give the broker the extra above the assessed value of the pledge. If the broker says that he doesnt know the value of the pledge; the pledger is made to take an oath on the description of the pledge and that is his if he brings a matter which is not disapproved of. Malik said; All this applies when the broker takes the pledge and does not put it in the hands of another. | The Chapter on Oaths And Pledges And Loans in HodHood Indexing, The Book of The Evil Eye in Muwata Malik |
