SahihAlBukhari-017-001-020Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet ﷺ offered one of the evening prayers the sub-narrator Muhammad said; I think that it was most probably the Asr prayer and he finished it after offering two rakat only. He then stood near a price of wood in front of the Masjid and put his hand over it. Abu Bakr and Umar were amongst those who were present; but they dared not talk to him about that because of excessive respect for him ; and those who were in a hurry went out. They said; Has the prayer been reduced? A man who was called Dhu AlYadain by the Prophet ﷺ said to the Prophet ; Has the prayer been reduced or have you forgotten? He said; Neither have I forgotten; nor has the prayer been reduced. He said; Certainly you have forgotten. So the Prophet ﷺ offered two more rakat and performed Taslim and then said Takbir and performed a prostration of Sahu like his ordinary prostration or a bit longer and then raised his head and said Takbir and then put his head down and performed a prostration like his ordinary prostration or a bit longer; and then raised his head and said Takbir. The Chapter on The Format Of Prostration in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on To say Takbir in the prostrations of Sahw in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2570Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet ﷺ led us in the Zuhr prayer; offering only two rakat and then finished it with Taslim; and went to a piece of wood in front of the Masjid and put his hand over it. Abu Bakr and Umar were also present among the people on that day but dared not talk to him about his unfinished prayer. And the hasty people went away; wondering. Has the prayer been shortened Among the people there was a man whom the Prophet ﷺ used to call Dhu AlYadain the longarmed. He said; O Allah Prophet! Have you forgotten or has the prayer been shortened? The Prophet ﷺ said; Neither have I forgotten; nor has it been shortened. They the people said; Surely; you have forgotten; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! The Prophet ﷺ said; Dhu AlYadain has told the truth. So the Prophet ﷺ got up and offered other two rakat and finished his prayer with Taslim. Then he said Takbir; performed a prostration of ordinary duration or longer; then he raised his head and said Takbir and performed another prostration of ordinary duration or longer and then raised his head and said Takbir i.e. he performed the two prostrations of Sahu; i.e.; forgetfulness. The Chapter on Forgetfulness In Prayers Raising in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Describing somebody as tall or short in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2813Narrated Zahdam: We were in the company of Abu Mousa AlAshari and there were friendly relations between us and this tribe of Jarm. Abu Mousa was presented with a dish containing chicken. Among the people there was sitting a red-faced man who did not come near the food. Abu Mousa said to him ; Come on and eat ; for I have seen Allah Messenger ﷺ eating of it i.e. chicken. He said; I have seen it eating something dirty and since then I have disliked it; and have taken an oath that I shall not eat it Abu Mousa said; Come on; I will tell you or narrate to you. Once I went to Allah s Apostle with a group of AlAshariyin; and met him while he was angry; distributing some camels of rakat. We asked for mounts but he took an oath that he would not give us any mounts; and added; I have nothing to mount you on In the meantime some camels of booty were brought to Allah Messenger ﷺ and he asked twice; Where are AlAshariyin? So he gave us five white camels with big humps. We stayed for a short while after we had covered a little distance ; and then I said to my companions; Allah Messenger ﷺ has forgotten his oath. By Allah; if we do not remind Allah Messenger ﷺ of his oath; we will never be successful. So we returned to the Prophet ﷺ and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! We asked you for mounts; but you took an oath that you would not give us any mounts; we think that you have forgotten your oath. He said; It is Allah Who has given you mounts. By Allah; and Allah willing; if I take an oath and later find something else better than that. then I do what is better and expiate my oath. The Chapter on Oaths And Pledges And Kaffara in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The meat of chickens in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-788Narrated Thabit: Anas said; I will leave no stone unturned in making you offer the prayer as I have seen the Prophet ﷺ making us offer it. Anas used to do a thing which I have not seen you doing. He used to stand after the bowing for such a long time that one would think that he had forgotten the prostrations and he used to sit in-between the prostrations so long that one would think that he had forgotten the second prostration. The Chapter on Prolonging The Prostration in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on To sit for a while between the two prostrations in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-968Narrates Ibn Seereen: Abu Huraira said; Allah Messenger ﷺ led us in one of the two Isha prayers Abu Huraira named that prayer but I forgot it. Abu Huraira added; He prayed two rakat and then finished the prayer with Taslim. He stood up near a piece of wood Lying across the Masjid and leaned on it in such a way as if he was angry. Then he put his right hand over the left and clasped his hands by interlacing his fingers and then put his J right cheek on the back of his left hand. The people who were in haste left the Masjid through its gates. They wondered whether the prayer was reduced. And amongst them were Abu Bakr and Umar but they hesitated to ask the Prophet. A long-handed man called Dhu AlYadain asked the Prophet; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Have you forgotten or has the prayer been reduced? The Prophet ﷺ replied; I have neither forgotten nor has the prayer been reduced The Prophet ﷺ added; Is what Dhul Yadain has said true? They the people said; Yes; it is true. The Prophet ﷺ stood up again and led the prayer; completing the remaining prayer; forgotten by him; and performed Taslim; and then said; Allahu Akbar. And then he did a prostration as he used to prostrate or longer than that. He then raised his head saying; Allahu Akbar; he then again said; Allahu Akbar; and prostrated as he used to prostrate or longer than that. Then he raised his head and said; Allahu Akbar. The subnarrator added; I think that they asked Ibn Seereen whether the Prophet ﷺ completed the prayer with Taslim. He replied; I heard that Imran Bin Hosain had said; Then he the Prophet did Taslim. The Chapter on Forgetfulness In Prayers Raising in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on To clasp one hands by interlocking the fingers in the Masjid or outside the Masjid in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihMuslim-017-001-22055Abu Harb Bin Abu AlAswad reported on the authority of his father that Abu Mousa AlAshari sent for the reciters of Basra. They came to him and they were three hundred in number. They recited the Quran and he said: You are the best among the inhabitants of Basra; for you are the reciters among them. So continue to recite it. But bear in mind that your reciting for a long time may not harden your hearts as were hardened the hearts of those before you. We used to recite a surah which resembled in length and severity to Surah Baraat. I have; however; forgotten it with the exception of this which I remember out of it: If there were two valleys full of riches; for the son of Adam; he would long for a third valley; and nothing would fill the stomach of the son of Adam but dust. And we used so recite a surah which resembled one of the surahs of Mousabbihat; and I have forgotten it; but remember this much out of it: Oh people who believe; why do you say that which you do not practise lxi 2. and that is recorded in your necks as a witness against you and you would be asked about it on the Day of Resurrection xvii. 13.The Chapter on Recitation Of Ayat in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 39 in Sahih Muslim

SahihMuslim-017-001-23532Thabit reported it on the authority of Anas: I have never said such a light and perfect prayer as I said behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The prayer of the Messenger. of Allah ﷺ was well balanced. And so too was the prayer of Abu Bakr well balanced. When it was the time of Umar Bin AlKhattab he prolonged the morning prayer. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Allah listened to him who praised Him; he stood erect till we said: He has forgotten. He then prostrated and sat between two prostration till we said: He has forgotten. The Chapter on Prolonging The Prostration in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 38 in Sahih Muslim
