On the plateaus; on the mountains; on the hills; in the valleys and on the places where trees grow. So the rain stopped and we came out walking in the sun. The livestock are dying and the families offspring are hungry: please pray to Allah to bless us with rain. Then he came on the third Friday; when the Prophet was delivering Khutbah and he said: Pray two Rakahs. Then he said: Give in charity. So they gave in charity; and he gave him that man two garments. Then he said: Give in charity and that man threw one of his two garments. The Messenger of Allah said: Have you not seen this man? By Allah SWT ; we could not see even a wisp of a cloud in the sky; then a cloud appeared and grew; and it rained. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up to deliver the Khutbah; they called out to him and said: O Prophet of Allah; the houses are destroyed and the routes are cut off. I said to him: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The best day on which the sun rises is Friday. On this day; Adam was created; on this day he was sent down; on it repentance was accepted; on this day he died; and on this day the Hour will begin. There is no living creature on Earth that does not listen out from Friday morning until the sun rises; fearing the onset of the Hour; except the son of Adam. On Friday there is an hour in which; if a believer prays and asks Allah SWT for something; He will give it to him. Kaab said: Is than one day in every year? I said: No; it is every Friday. Then Kaab read in the Tawrah and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke the truth; it is every Friday. Then I went out and met Basrah Bin Abi Basrah AlGhifari. He said: From where have you come? I said: From AlTur. He said: If I had met you before you went there; you would not have gone. I said to him: Why? He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Do not travel especially to visit a masjid except three: AlMasjid AlHaram in Makkah ; my masjid in AlMadinah and the Masjid of Bait AlMaqdis in Jerusalem. Then I met Abdullah Bin Salam and said: If you had only seen me; I went to AlTur and met Kaab and he and I spent the day together; when I narrated things to him from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he narrated things to me from the Tawrah. I said to him: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The best day on which the sun rises is Friday. The same or some other person stood up and said: Messenger of Allah; the houses have been demolished; pray to Allah to stop it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled and said: O Allah ; the rain may fall around us but not upon us. Then I looked at the cloud which dispersed around Medina just like a crown. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-26509		Amr Bin Abi Amr and Ikrimah reported: Some people of Iraq came and said: Ibn Abbas; do you regard taking a bath on Friday as obligatory ? He said: No; it is only a means of cleanliness; and is better for one who washes oneself. Anyone who does not take a bath; it is not essential for him. I inform you how the bath on Friday commenced. The people were poor and used to wear woolen clothes; and would carry loads on their backs. Their Masjid was small and its rood was lowered down. It was a sort of trellis of vine. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ once came out on a hot day and the people perspired profusely in the woolen clothes so much so that foul smell emitted from them and it caused trouble to each other. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ found the foul smell; he said: O people; when this day Friday comes; you should take bath and every one should anoint the best oil and perfume one has. Ibn Abbas then said: Then Allah; the Exalted; provided wealth to the people and they wore clothes other than the woolen; and were spared from work; and their Masjid became vast. The foul smell that caused trouble to them became non-existent. The angels come early in the morning; sit at the door of the Masjid; and record that so-and-so came at the first hour; and so-and-so came at the second hour until the imam comes out for preaching. When a man sits in a place where he can listen to the sermon and look at the imam ; where he remains silent and does not interrupt; he will receive a double reward. If he stays away; sits in a place where he cannot listen to the sermon ; silent; and does not interrupt; he will receive the reward only once. If he sits in a place where he can listen to the sermon and look at the imam ; and he does not remain silent; he will have the burden of it. If anyone says to his companion sitting besides him to be silent while the imam is preaching ; he is guilty of idle talk. Anyone who interrupts during the sermon will receive nothing no reward on that Friday.
