I said: From AlTur. He said: If I had met you before you went there; you would not have gone. I said to him: Why? He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Do not travel especially to visit a masjid except three: AlMasjid AlHaram in Makkah ; my masjid in AlMadinah and the Masjid of Bait AlMaqdis in Jerusalem. Then I met Abdullah Bin Salam and said: If you had only seen me; I went to AlTur and met Kaab and he and I spent the day together; when I narrated things to him from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he narrated things to me from the Tawrah. I said to him: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The best day on which the sun rises is Friday. On this day; Adam was created; on this day he was sent down; on it repentance was accepted; on this day he died; and on this day the Hour will begin. There is no living creature on Earth that does not listen out from Friday morning until the sun rises; fearing the onset of the Hour; except the son of Adam. On Friday there is an hour in which; if a believer prays and asks Allah SWT for something; He will give it to him. Kaab said: That is one day in every year. Abdullah Bin Salam said: Kaab is not telling the truth. I said: Then Kaab read in the Tawrah and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke the truth; it is every Friday. Abdullah said: Kaab spoke the truth; I know when that time is. I said: O my brother; tell me about it. He said: It is the last hour of Friday; before the sun sets. I said: Did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: If a believer prays; but that is not a time for prayer. He said: Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Whoever prays and sits waiting for the next prayer; is in a state of prayer until the next prayer comes? I said: Of course. He said: That is what it is. | The Chapter on Day Of Friday in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Jumuah Friday Prayer in Sunan AlNasai |

SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-25310 | Narrated Anas Ibn Malik: The people of Medina had a drought during the time of the Prophet ﷺ. While he was preaching on a Friday; a man stood up and said: Messenger of Allah; the horses have perished; the goats have perished; pray to Allah to give us water. He spread his hands and prayed. Anas said: The sky was like a mirror there was no cloud. Then the wind rose; a cloud appeared in the sky and it spread : the sky poured down the water. We came out from the Masjid after the prayer passing through the water till we reached our homes. The rain continued till the following Friday. The same or some other person stood up and said: Messenger of Allah; the houses have been demolished; pray to Allah to stop it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled and said: O Allah ; the rain may fall around us but not upon us. Then I looked at the cloud which dispersed around Medina just like a crown. | The Chapter on Rain And Clouds And Almadinah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Raising The Hands During Istisqa in Sunan Abu Dawoud

But he who indulges in idle talk and steps over the necks of people in the Masjid ; that Friday will be for him like the noon prayer. | The Chapter on Communication And Being Quiet In Friday Prayers in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Performing Ghusl For The Friday Prayer in Sunan Abu Dawoud
SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-26509 | Amr Bin Abi Amr and Ikrimah reported: Some people of Iraq came and said: Ibn Abbas; do you regard taking a bath on Friday as obligatory ? He said: No; it is only a means of cleanliness; and is better for one who washes oneself. Anyone who does not take a bath; it is not essential for him. I inform you how the bath on Friday commenced. The people were poor and used to wear woolen clothes; and would carry loads on their backs. Their Masjid was small and its rood was lowered down. It was a sort of trellis of vine. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ once came out on a hot day and the people perspired profusely in the woolen clothes so much so that foul smell emitted from them and it caused trouble to each other. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ found the foul smell; he said: O people; when this day Friday comes; you should take bath and every one should anoint the best oil and perfume one has. Ibn Abbas then said: Then Allah; the Exalted; provided wealth to the people and they wore clothes other than the woolen; and were spared from work; and their Masjid became vast. The foul smell that caused trouble to them became non-existent. | The Chapter on Menstruation And Charity in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The Permissibility Of Not Performing Ghusl On Friday in Sunan Abu Dawoud
SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-28024 | Narrated Abu Huraira: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created; on it he was expelled from Paradise ; on it his contrition was accepted; on it he died; and on it the Last Hour will take place. On Friday every beast is on the lookout from dawn to sunrise in fear of the Last Hour; but not jinn and men; and it contains a time at which no Muslim prays and asks anything from Allah but He will give it to him. Kaab said: That is one day every year. So I said: It is on every Friday. Kaab read the Torah and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has spoken the truth. Abu Huraira said: I met Abdullah Ibn Salam and told him of my meeting with Ka Bin Abdullah Ibn Salam said: I know what time it is. Abu Huraira said: I asked him to tell me about it. Abdullah Ibn Salam said: It is at the very end of Friday. I asked: How can it be when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has said: No Muslim finds it while he is praying.... and this is the moment when no prayer is offered. Abdullah Ibn Salam said: Has the Messenger of Allah ﷺ not said: If anyone is seated waiting for the prayer; he is engaged in the prayer until he observes it. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-28029 | Narrated Ali Ibn Abu Talib: Ali said on the pulpit in the Masjid of Kufah: When Friday comes; the devils go to the markets with their flags; and involve people in their needs and prevent them from the Friday prayer. The angels come early in the morning; sit at the door of the Masjid; and record that so-and-so came at the first hour; and so-and-so came at the second hour until the imam comes out for preaching. When a man sits in a place where he can listen to the sermon and look at the imam ; where he remains silent and does not interrupt; he will receive a double reward. If he stays away; sits in a place where he cannot listen to the sermon ; silent; and does not interrupt; he will receive the reward only once. If he sits in a place where he can listen to the sermon and look at the imam ; and he does not remain silent; he will have the burden of it. If anyone says to his companion sitting besides him to be silent while the imam is preaching ; he is guilty of idle talk. Anyone who interrupts during the sermon will receive nothing no reward on that Friday. Then he the narrator says in the end of this tradition: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say so.Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been narrated by AlWalid Bin Muslim from Ibn Jabir.
