SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1367 | Narrated Abu Mousa AlAshari: The Prophet ﷺ went out to one of the gardens of Medina for some business and I went out to follow him. When he entered the garden; I sat at its gate and said to myself; To day I will be the gatekeeper of the Prophet though he has not ordered me. The Prophet ﷺ went and finished his need and went to sit on the constructed edge of the well and uncovered his legs and hung them in the well. In the meantime Abu Bakr came and asked permission to enter. I said to him ; Wait till I get you permission. Abu Bakr waited outside and I went to the Prophet ﷺ and said; O Allah Prophet! Abu Bakr asks your permission to enter. He said; Admit him; and give him the glad tidings of entering Paradise. So Abu Bakr entered and sat on the right side of the Prophet ﷺ and uncovered his legs and hung them in the well. Then Umar came and I said to him ; Wait till I get you permission. The Prophet ﷺ said; Admit him and give him the glad tidings of entering Paradise. So Umar entered and sat on the left side of the Prophet and uncovered his legs and hung them in the well so that one side of the well became fully occupied and there remained no place for any-one to sit. Then Uthman came and I said to him ; Wait till I get permission for you. The Prophet ﷺ said; Admit him and give him the glad tidings of entering Paradise with a calamity which will befall him. When he entered; he could not find any place to sit with them so he went to the other edge of the well opposite them and uncovered his legs and hung them in the well. I wished that a brother of mine would come; so I invoked Allah for his coming. Ibn AlMusaiyab said; I interpreted that narration as indicating their graves. The first three are together and the grave of Uthman is separate from theirs. | The Chapter on Standing For Prayers And Permission in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on AlFitnah that will move like the waves of the sea in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1567 | Narrated Anas: Some people from the tribe of Ukl came to the Prophet ﷺ and embraced Islam. The climate of Medina did not suit them; so the Prophet ﷺ ordered them to go to the herd of milch camels of charity and to drink; their milk and urine as a medicine. They did so; and after they had recovered from their ailment became healthy they turned renegades reverted from Islam and killed the shepherd of the camels and took the camels away. The Prophet ﷺ sent some people in their pursuit and so they were caught and brought; and the Prophets ordered that their hands and legs should be cut off and that their eyes should be branded with heated pieces of iron; and that their cut hands and legs should not be cauterized; till they die. | The Chapter on Camels And Herdsmen Milk And Urine in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The chapter of those who wage war from the people who are disbelievers and those turned renegades in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3356 | Narrated Abu Mousa AlAshari: I performed ablution in my house and then went out and said; Today I shall stick to Allah Messenger ﷺ and stay with him all this day of mine in his service. I went to the Masjid and asked about the Prophet. They said; He had gone in this direction. So I followed his way; asking about him till he entered a place called Bir Aris. I sat at its gate that was made of date-palm leaves till the Prophet ﷺ finished answering the call of nature and performed ablution. Then I went up to him to see him sitting at the well of Aris at the middle of its edge with his legs uncovered; hanging in the well. I greeted him and went back and sat at the gate. I said; Today I will be the gatekeeper of the Prophet. Abu Bakr came and pushed the gate. I asked; Who is it? He said; Abu Bakr. I told him to wait; went in and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Abu Bakr asks for permission to enter. He said; Admit him and give him the glad tidings that he will be in Paradise. So I went out and said to Abu Bakr; Come in; and Allah Messenger ﷺ gives you the glad tidings that you will be in Paradise Abu Bakr entered and sat on the right side of Allah Messenger ﷺ on the built edge of the well and hung his legs n the well as the Prophet ﷺ did and uncovered his legs. I then returned and sat at the gate. I had left my brother performing ablution and he intended to follow me. So I said to myself. If Allah wants good for so-and-so i.e. my brother He will bring him here. Suddenly somebody moved the door. I asked; Who is it? He said; Umar Bin AlKhattab. I asked him to wait; went to Allah Messenger ﷺ ; greeted him and said; Umar Bin AlKhattab asks the permission to enter. He said; Admit him; and give him the glad tidings that he will be in Paradise. I went to Umar and said Come in; and Allah Messenger ﷺ ; gives you the glad tidings that you will be in Paradise. So he entered and sat beside Allah Messenger ﷺ on the built edge of the well on the left side and hung his legs in the well. I returned and sat at the gate and said; to myself ; If Allah wants good for so-and-so; He will bring him here. Somebody came and moved the door. I asked Who is it? He replied; Uthman Bin Affan. I asked him to wait and went to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him. He said; Admit him; and give him the glad tidings of entering Paradise; I asked him to wait and went to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him. He said; Adult him; and give him the glad tidings of entering Paradise after a calamity that will befall him. So I went up to him and said to him; Come in; Allah Apostle gives you the glad tidings of entering Paradise after a calamity that will befall you. Uthman then came in and found that the built edge of the well was occupied; so he sat opposite to the Prophet ﷺ on the other side. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3813 | Narrated Jubair Bin Haiya: Umar sent the Muslims to the great countries to fight the pagans. When AlHurmuzan embraced Islam; Umar said to him. I would like to consult you regarding these countries which I intend to invade. AlHurmuzan said; Yes; the example of these countries and their inhabitants who are the enemies. of the Muslims; is like a bird with a head; two wings and two legs; If one of its wings got broken; it would get up over its two legs; with one wing and the head; and if the other wing got broken; it would get up with two legs and a head; but if its head got destroyed; then the two legs; two wings and the head would become useless. The head stands for Khosrau; and one wing stands for Caesar and the other wing stands for Faris. So; order the Muslims to go towards Khosrau. So; Umar sent us to Khosrau appointing AlNuman Bin Muqrin as our commander. When we reached the land of the enemy; the representative of Khosrau came out with forty-thousand warriors; and an interpreter got up saying; Let one of you talk to me! AlMughira replied; Ask whatever you wish. The other asked; Who are you? AlMughira replied; We are some people from the Arabs; we led a hard; miserable; disastrous life: we used to suck the hides and the date stones from hunger; we used to wear clothes made up of fur of camels and hair of goats; and to worship trees and stones. While we were in this state; the Lord of the Heavens and the Earths; Elevated is His Remembrance and Majestic is His Highness; sent to us from among ourselves a Prophet whose father and mother are known to us. Our Prophet; the Messenger of our Lord; has ordered us to fight you till you worship Allah Alone or give Jizya i.e. tribute ; and our Prophet has informed us that our Lord says:- Whoever amongst us is killed i.e. martyred ; shall go to Paradise to lead such a luxurious life as he has never seen; and whoever amongst us remain alive; shall become your master. AlMughira; then blamed AlNuman for delaying the attack and AlNu man said to AlMughira; If you had participated in a similar battle; in the company of Allah Messenger ﷺ he would not have blamed you for waiting; nor would he have disgraced you. But I accompanied Allah Apostle in many battles and it was his custom that if he did not fight early by daytime; he would wait till the wind had started blowing and the time for the prayer was due i.e. after midday. | The Chapter on Assignments And Life in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on AlJizya taken from the Dhimmi in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5486 | Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet ﷺ said; The Prophet ﷺ Abraham emigrated with Sarah and entered a village where there was a king or a tyrant. The king was told that Abraham had entered the village accompanied by a woman who was one of the most charming women. So; the king sent for Abraham and asked; O Abraham! Who is this lady accompanying you? Abraham replied; She is my sister i.e. in religion. Then Abraham returned to her and said; Do not contradict my statement; for I have informed them that you are my sister. By Allah; there are no true believers on this land except you and 1. Then Abraham sent her to the king. When the king got to her; she got up and performed ablution; prayed and said; O Allah! If I have believed in You and Your Apostle; and have saved my private parts from everybody except my husband; then please do not let this pagan overpower me. On that the king fell in a mood of agitation and started moving his legs. Seeing the condition of the king; Sarah said; O Allah! If he should die; the people will say that I have killed him. The king regained his power; and proceeded towards her but she got up again and performed ablution; prayed and said; O Allah! If I have believed in You and Your Apostle and have kept my private parts safe from all except my husband; then please do not let this pagan overpower me. The king again fell in a mood of agitation and started moving his legs. On seeing that state of the king; Sarah said; O Allah! If he should die; the people will say that I have killed him. The king got either two or three attacks; and after recovering from the last attack he said; By Allah! You have sent a satan to me. Take her to Abraham and give her Ajar. So she came back to Abraham and said; Allah humiliated the pagan and gave us a slave-girl for service. | The Chapter on Allah And Prophets Abraham And Sarah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The purchase of a slave from the enemy in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6390 | Narrated AlBara Bin Azib: Allah Messenger ﷺ sent some men from the Ansar to kill Abu Rafi; the Jew; and appointed Abdullah Bin Atik as their leader. Abu Rafi used to hurt Allah Messenger ﷺ and help his enemies against him. He lived in his castle in the land of Hijaz. When those men approached the castle after the sun had set and the people had brought back their livestock to their homes. Abdullah bin Atik said to his companions; Sit down at your places. I am going; and I will try to play a trick on the gate-keeper so that I may enter the castle. So Abdullah proceeded towards the castle; and when he approached the gate; he covered himself with his clothes; pretending to answer the call of nature. The people had gone in; and the gate-keeper considered Abdullah as one of the castle servants addressing him saying; O Allah Servant! Enter if you wish; for I want to close the gate. Abdullah added in his story; So I went in the castle and hid myself. When the people got inside; the gate-keeper closed the gate and hung the keys on a fixed wooden peg. I got up and took the keys and opened the gate. Some people were staying late at night with Abu Rafi for a pleasant night chat in a room of his. When his companions of nightly entertainment went away; I ascended to him; and whenever I opened a door; I closed it from inside. I said to myself; Should these people discover my presence; they will not be able to catch me till I have killed him. So I reached him and found him sleeping in a dark house amidst his family; I could not recognize his location in the house. So I shouted; O Abu Rafi! Abu Rafi said; Who is it? I proceeded towards the source of the voice and hit him with the sword; and because of my perplexity; I could not kill him. He cried loudly; and I came out of the house and waited for a while; and then went to him again and said; What is this voice; O Abu Rafi? He said; Woe to your mother! A man in my house has hit me with a sword! I again hit him severely but I did not kill him. Then I drove the point of the sword into his belly and pressed it through till it touched his back; and I realized that I have killed him. I then opened the doors one by one till I reached the staircase; and thinking that I had reached the ground; I stepped out and fell down and got my leg broken in a moonlit night. I tied my leg with a turban and proceeded on till I sat at the gate; and said; I will not go out tonight till I know that I have killed him. So; when early in the morning the cock crowed; the announcer of the casualty stood on the wall saying; I announce the death of Abu Rafi; the merchant of Hijaz. Thereupon I went to my companions and said; Let us save ourselves; for Allah has killed Abu Rafi; So I along with my companions proceeded and went to the Prophet ﷺ and described the whole story to him. He said; Stretch out your broken leg. I stretched it out and he rubbed it and it became All right as if I had never had any ailment whatsoever. | The Chapter on Lost And Found And The Companions in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The killing of Ab Rafi Abdullah Bin Abi AlHuqaiq in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6391 | Narrated AlBara: Allah Messenger ﷺ sent Abdullah Bin Atik and Abdullah Bin Utba with a group of men to Abu Rafi to kill him. They proceeded till they approached his castle; whereupon Abdullah Bin Atik said to them; Wait here ; and in the meantime I will go and see. Abdullah said later on; I played a trick in order to enter the castle. By chance; they lost a donkey of theirs and came out carrying a flaming light to search for it. I was afraid that they would recognize me; so I covered my head and legs and pretended to answer the call to nature. The gatekeeper called; Whoever wants to come in; should come in before I close the gate. So I went in and hid myself in a stall of a donkey near the gate of the castle. They took their supper with Abu Rafi and had a chat till late at night. Then they went back to their homes. When the voices vanished and I no longer detected any movement; I came out. I had seen where the gate-keeper had kept the key of the castle in a hole in the wall. I took it and unlocked the gate of the castle; saying to myself; If these people should notice me; I will run away easily. Then I locked all the doors of their houses from outside while they were inside; and ascended to Abu Rafi by a staircase. I saw the house in complete darkness with its light off; and I could not know where the man was. So I called; O Abu Rafi! He replied; Who is it? I proceeded towards the voice and hit him. He cried loudly but my blow was futile. Then I came to him; pretending to help him; saying with a different tone of my voice; What is wrong with you; O Abu Rafi? He said; Are you not surprised? Woe on your mother! A man has come to me and hit me with a sword! So again I aimed at him and hit him; but the blow proved futile again; and on that Abu Rafi cried loudly and his wife got up. I came again and changed my voice as if I were a helper; and found Abu Rafi lying straight on his back; so I drove the sword into his belly and bent on it till I heard the sound of a bone break. Then I came out; filled with astonishment and went to the staircase to descend; but I fell down from it and got my leg dislocated. I bandaged it and went to my companions limping. I said to them ; Go and tell Allah Messenger ﷺ of this good news; but I will not leave this place till I hear the news of his i.e. Abu Rafis death. When dawn broke; an announcer of death got over the wall and announced; I convey to you the news of Abu Rafi death. I got up and proceeded without feeling any pain till I caught up with my companions before they reached the Prophet ﷺ to whom I conveyed the good news. | The Chapter on Recitations And Poetry And Alquran And Remembrance in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The killing of Ab Rafi Abdullah Bin Abi AlHuqaiq in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihMuslim-017-001-21662 | Anas Allah be pleased with him reported that Allah Messenger ﷺ set out on an expedition to Khaibar and we observed our morning prayer in early hours of the dawn. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then mounted and so did Abu Talha ride; and I was seating myself behind Abu Talha. Allah Apostle ﷺ moved in the narrow street of Khaibar and we rode so close to each other in the street that my knee touched the leg of Allah Apostle ﷺ. A part of the lower garment of Allah Apostle ﷺ slipped from his leg and I could see the whiteness of the leg of Allah Apostle ﷺ. As he entered the habitation he called: Allahu Akbar Allah is the Greatest. Khaibar is ruined. And when we get down in the valley of a people evil is the morning of the warned ones. He repeated it thrice. In the meanwhile the people went out for their work; and said: By Allah; Muhammad has come. Abd AlAziz or some of our companions said: Muhammad and the army have come. He said: We took it the territory of Khaibar by force; and there were gathered the prisoners of war. There came Dihya and he said: Messenger of Allah; bestow upon me a girl from among the prisoners.
